Ghost push fix - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I fixed my mom's phone since it started showing some weird ads and downloads apps by itself im just sharing this just hoping it would help everyone
1. Download stubborn trojan killer its available in playstore or just copy the apk on ur sd if ur fone is already not working due to a lot of malware messing up ur fone.warning dont use shareit cuz i actually infected my fone run this app so it will remove some malware downloaded by ghost push so it wont be too hard for u to continue since my moms fone doesnt seem to respond well due to the malwares. And that ghost push will keep coming back
2. Disable those app that obviously is a malware to u. Look at system/priv app
U will notice there are apps that obviously have wrong dates unistalled it if it failed just disable them on settings/apps.
3. Download avira run it and it will detect infected apks
I run this multiply times before its completely clean so it wont keep spreading. Its recommended to run multiple times.
4. Download kingroot and run it. Press the button below the numbers shown on the app it somehow fixes ur root permissions since that malware somehow messed up root. And click the upper left button in the app.
5. Install busybox.... i dnt know if this is actually needed
6.run stubborn trojan killer again and this time ghost push wont be showing up again
Hope this works for everyone else too

No more annoying pop ups and downloads and no more detection of ghost push on stubborn killer
But those malware are still in ur system app i think u need to use adb to manually remove them from system apps its those with recent dates btw its a kitkat 4.4
Remove those with suspicious dates it can be more than 2
adb devices
adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw /system
cd system/priv-app
chattr -iaA (suspicious file).apk
rm (suspicious file).apk
chattr -aA (suspicious file).apk
rm (suspicious file).apk

Set default lock screen on VillainROM 3.4

Hey XDA,
My question is, how to enable the default lock screen on VillainROM 3.4.
Like this one:

Or this one:
Please say to me if this is possible, and what file(s) i need for the process.
Thx for reading!
i also would like to know this
Navigate to the folder where adb is installed using cmd
1. adb remount
2. adb shell
3. su
4. cd /system/app
5. rm HtcLockScreen.apk
6. reboot
Let me know if this works
They are the correct commands yes, some newer 2.1 builds currently have a problem with this lock screen though so nandroid first.
Hopefully a fix for this should be out soon.
Edit: no need to "SU" in adb remounting is enough
ok thx guys!
i'll try this!
hmmm i updated my phone to Villian 5.03.
and it doesn't work..
u can delete htclockscreen.apk
after that it f*cks up the lockscreen..
there was a fix for that, i tryed that, but then the phone crashes..
The fix will need to be ported over to be compatible with our GSM heroes. I have sent the info to Nathan and he should include it in his next VillainRom
ok thx for that!!
and btw. am i the only one, with the problem that the alarm doesn't work!?!?
it just won't ring :S
Oh should have said.
HTC Clock (alarm clock part) is linked to HTC Lock Screen.
If you remove the lock screen you will need to install the vanilla clock app or get a 3rd party alarm app from the market.
yes yes, i already red that..
but it doesn't work, it just locks up my phone, when i apply the fix for the messed up lockscreen.
but the alarm also doesn't work after a clean install(full wipe+install rom)
When things don't work after a full wipe and reinstall I suggest you install a 1.5 rom that works (stock rooted or modaco) run that for a few hours then try to reinstall a 2.1 rom and hopefully all should be back to working.
If however you install a 1.5 and alarm still does not work then we need to find out what is causing it.

[HELP] Please

Using adb, you can try running Settings and see what's going on. Are your apps really missing or is your launcher just screwed up?
Do you have any data on the device? I would consider just backing up everything and reflashing a stock ROM or doing a clean wipe.

I already tried that and all APPs are missing. There's nothing installed. and I don't have custom recovery to return to stock ROM. And can't install gapps because in recovery there's no section saying install zip or something like that. i tried and wrote gapps and rom on sd card and can't flash them.
Have you tried adb pushing the apk for google apps and then launching the app via homescreen icon or adb shell command?
This is the first time I've ever encountered all apps missing. Also since you don't have a custom recovery installed, you can always root and install it.

Thank you for your help but i think it's dead. I tried pushing apps and launching via shell but no deal. I installed play store but when i try to download something it crushes immediately. Thanks again...

Data lost but huge "system data" partition after a crash

Hi everyone.
I've a Nexus 5 which runs Android 6.0.1 but I think the problem is not especially related to the Nexus 5, so I post here.
What happened ? Few days ago my phone crashed (I didn't use it) and was slow to boot up. So I tried to force the reboot by pressing the power button for 15/20s and it worked.
But 5/10min after I saw the "Select language" menu ... The phone performed a factory/reset by itself. I don't know why.
First, I plug my phone to my computer and I've seen that 26GB/32GB were already in use.
So I tried to recover my pictures and videos with many apps and the one which worked was "Undeleter" (5$) but it didn't recover all my data.
Yesterday, I wanted to understand what happened really. I ran "DiskUsage" which give me this result for /storage/emulated/0 :

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
How can I access to the "System data" partition which has a size similar to the storage space used before the crash ?
Regards,
Laurent
EDIT :
Finally I backed up all my data !
Indeed, files of my memory (/sdcard) before the crash was in /data/lost+found/#1351681/0
Then, I was able to move them to /sdcard and to copy the files on my PC.
How to ?
Make sure your phone is rooted and install a file explorer such as Root Browser.
Open Root Browser and navigate until /data/lost+found/#xxxxx [in my case, with a Nexus 5 it was 1351681/0]
(Look for the directory which corresponds to your previous "sdcard".)
Now, you can see the files but you can't open them. So move (not copy!) them to /sdcard (I suggest you to do that folder by folder).
Great, you've recovered your files ! But now, transfer them to your computer to prevent damages (I was forced to do that and remove files after to continue because the storage was full).
You can do it in connecting your phone to your computer and via the explorer or you can use adb (adb pull /sdcard/directory_to_move path_to_a_dir_of_your_computer)
I hope it will be useful.

Internal storage mount or permission problem (Oneplus One)

Hello all,
I've been flashing rooms on the phone for quite a while now, but last weekend i flashed a new CM14.1 ROM onto the phone with the new GAPPS with it. Before doing this i ofcourse wiped the needed partitions in order for them to work right. However, since i've done this and flashed the new software, the phone doenst have access to the internal storage while being booted into the system (OS)..
When i boot into TWRP, i have full access to the internal storage and i'm able to create new folders and copy/cut/paste files onto it. Down here, you see i've created a new folder using the PC while its booted in TWRP.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When i try to do this while its booted in CM14.1 (android 7.1.1, but i think any ROM i'd flash) this happens:
To translate this from Dutch to English: "The new folder couldn't be created on this location. The device isn't responding anymore or the connection has been lost".
When i browse to the internal storage through the OS itself, it does show up. However, i dont have any access to create new folders or files or to change them:
Also when i try to take a picutre using the camera, it says this:
Even when i enable developer options and giving root to both apps and adb, it still doesnt have the required access to perform these actions:
Also going to the gallery, it says that there is no storage available:
I also looked up some info about the partition, which might be useful for those who have some knowledge about this.. This is what i found using the app "Diskinfo":
And i also used the commands ls -l to show the permissions of the /data/media/(and)0/ to see what rights are giving out:
As you see here, the app itself didnt have access to go to the storage location untill i gave it "su" rights. Does this mean the entire OS doesnt have access to this location because it simply doesnt have the right permissions for it?
If anyone has any suggestions or wants to help me figure out what is wrong, please feel free to reply here or through a PM. It would be highly appreciated.
///Edit
After searching around on the web i came across a post where someone said that running the TWRP advanced option "Fix Context" would reset all permissions that you normally dont do yourself. So i've ran that, it ran for like 0.5 second before being finished. After rebooting the phone into the system (OS/Android) all problems were solved and permissions were set right.
Therefore my problem is resolved now, and this topic could be closed ^^

Plz help me out :highfive:
Hey,
I won't be able to help you a lot more but still manage somehow to explain why it's like that.
On finished products, LG deactivated the option to show the battery percentage directly on the status bar as there was not enough space.
Let me give you an explanation based on what I've seen on an unfinished G8s ThinQ prototype: when '100%' is shown, the middle of the second zero was cut and the percentage hidden.
I think the best way to do it now is by using an app giving you the info in a way you want (Play Store or F-Droid (if you want open-source) will help you find out).
There's an option to show or not the battery percentage when you open the notification panel, just next to the network status, etc.
If someone manage to set it up in a right way, let's explain here and I'll send it to my colleagues in order to let the koreans make an OTA update for everyone (I hope they will do it)
PS: on this prototype, even the back design wasn't the good one because the main purpose of this one is to check for the dimensions, the screen, the notch with all visible sensors and the OS with Air Motion/HandID.
I would like to ask if there are any news ... and then ... I wanted to report this image ... not bad as a solution !?
