[UK] Have you received Marshmallow OTA? - Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

So for various reasons I won't go into I'm not able to flash Marshmallow in flashtool. I'm also unsure about the carrier status of the Lollipop firmware I flashed to return to stock, and therefore unsure about OTA status.
If you're in the UK, have you received the OTA? Also, what carrier are you on?
Thanks

I am on three, and have not gotten the update yet.

I noticed when checking for updates to my phone (customized UK) last week there was a 26.3.A.0.131 marshmallow update for EE phones but when i checked last night the EE update had changed back to the previous 26.1.A.3.111 lollipop release

Yeah, I have an EE phone. Got upgraded to 6.0 (via PC Companion, not OTA). Mic stopped working properly (people who called me couldn't hear me speaking) and the 5GHz radio disappeared (only found 2.4GHz networks) so I did a repair using Xperia Companion and it dropped the phone back to 5.0. I guess the release was a bit premature...

I've only got a notification on my phone that i need to connect it via PC Companion and there was a new update to install

I'm on Tesco Mobile (O2 Network) and I didn't receive the update via OTA so I flashed EE 6.0.1 using FlashTool (XperiFirm). Works great and you can uninstall all the pre-bundled EE apps!

Three take forever to release updates, ended up flashing customized UK on my m2 when I got that and just about to do the same with my xa as there's a update out for customized UK but not for three's ftf

Did you have any issues with WiFi after flashing the EE one? I've flashed it twice and the WiFi has been awful (I really do mean awful).

I did a full repair of the phone (so clean install of 6.0.1) and so far it seems to be working fine. Wi-Fi seems no worse than it was before...

A customised UK ftf will work in Greece and vice versa a customised UK ftf would work anywhere as long as it's for the correct model Xperia. Only real difference is the pre installed apps and some say 4g instead of lte when on a data connection.

1) Were you r00ted prior to the update?
So my other question is this to all M4 owners, anyone r00t 6.0 yet, or should I wait a bit longer for a r00t solution?
I really hate the bloat/crap/push/garbage that SONY crams into the phone.
***EDIT***
R00T TUT @ Youtube: https://youtu.be/jkWRC5mN_zs

My charge port broke last month.I sent it back to sony for repair running lollipop on Vodafone and it arrived back to me with marshmallow!!
Blow me, the port broke again in a week. Decided to take it to the shop this time. Collected it today (they couldn't fix it) and I'll be blowed, I get given a brand new carrier free m4 back on lollyflop.
Whas going on.....mustn't grumble but I've lost me marshmallows
Was running smoooothly too. Zero issues

Okay so I don't know if many of you will see this, but I've started a petition to fix this Marshmallow update permanently. I seriously can't believe the poor choices Sony make with their phones. This Marshmallow update was rushed in the end, and this phone has the potential to be better. Heating issue is kind of resolved, it doesn't heat up as it used to, but there is still a problem with the animations. Stamina mode is really bad, and no adoptable storage. If you want to make a change, then please sign the petition right here: https://www.change.org/p/sony-marshm...xperia-m4-aqua

New Firmware 6.0.A.3.73 rolling out

As per the Xperia S Facebook page, it seems like another new firmware version is rolling out. 6.0.A.3.73 firmware rolling out on Xperia S.
Does anyone know what this version is about? What all fixes and changes have been introduced.
Also, I am still stuck with ver 6.0.A.3.62. PC Companion still shows that I have latest version of firmware and no updates are available.
I am based in US and have an unlocked Singapore version of the phone. So does that mean I will not be getting this new firmware update as well? Since I didnot receive ver 67 either.
One way to manually get the updates would be to flash with the updated ROM. (As mentioned in a previous thread regarding ver 67 update)
Although I could try that, I dont want to try the same with my phone just yet . I thought Sony would be providing a proper user friendly way to get the firmware updates installed.
Any comments or suggestions??
Flash tool is way more user friendly than SEUS. These updates are per market and unless they feel that Singapore needs an update, you won'e get it. Keep in mind that most of these firmware carry few bloatwares which differ in each market. For each update they have to stick those into the ROM and that takes time.
If you need the latest, there are two ways:
1) Flash the latest provided file from here via Flashtool
2) What you have is the latest for your phone/market,
I moved from .62 to .67 - I can tell you that I have not experienced any differences and I am more optimistic to see signs of ICS. Hopeful not too far from here.
Good Luck
I have an unbranded Singapore set (customization version 1257_6921) and don't have the update either. So far, it seems like the .73 update is rolled out to Singtel-branded sets (customization version 1257-9049).

What is strange I also found my phone turned off when the message appeared.
But I just unplugged it, turned this on, turned off again and started the upgrade.

maybe someone can upload ftf file for the new firmware?
For those who don't see the update .67
PC Companion told my device was up to date too. But in order to update it to .67 I did the following: settings->applications->turn on "Usb debugging"
Connect device and start PC Companion, and then it saw the update.
Hope this helps

I don't mind, but don't know how to go about doing so. I checked out the tutorial found here but seems it's outdated, because the FILE_xxxx files in my Program Files \ Sony Ericsson \ Update Service \ db \ 13740270 \ blob_fs folder are dated 2011. And I can't find any FILE_xxxx files in my Program Files \ Sony folder.
Edit: Ok, found the files under ProgramData \ Sony Ericsson \ Update Engine \ db \ 13740270 \ blob_fs folder. Will try to use Flashtool to create FTF and upload.

Still on 4.4.2 in Canada - no 4.4.4 - C6802

Any idea how I can get my C6802, completely stock, upgraded to 4.4.4?
I still haven't got the OTA.... assuming because I'm in Canada?

I was expecting that - but I couldn't find any release info for Canada, since the C6802 is very rare here. 99% of the Z Ultras here are the LTE version.
I use c6802 like you,i didnt anticipate get any update for this model befor LTE one and soon....
I just flashed c6833 ftf to my device. It works fine.
I don't think thats the issue though.
I think its Region.
I don't see Sony not updating the C6802 any different than the C6833.
I think I'm just using the uncommon version in my country.
I just bought the phone recently and it came with 4.4.2 from the previous owner. (It was basically a like new phone)
Are there any region trick methods?

[Q]Sony Update Center

How does the Update Center app work? I found it quite unreliable. Someday it shows updates, some other day it doesn't.
I have hard times trying to figure out why it sometimes does work. Is it region dependent? Is it bootloader unlocked/locked dependent? Maybe it uses somehow DRM keys?
Even after I did a hardreset with relocked bootloader the Update Center doesn't show anything.
It's obvious that I may download the new apks for Walkman etc. from XDA or Xperia Blog, but it would be convenient to let the device download those.
Any info on that would be welcome, I couldn't find anything on the web.
I was able to narrow the problem down to the .314 update. Does anyone get updates via Sony Update Center on the phone on .314 FW? If yes, what branding are you using?
sony update center is no longer supported and generaly problematic
it seems to often just think a device has modified content for me
though it seems to be fine with old devices

You mean SEUS, right? I know that the desktop program has been discontinued.
I meant the apk...
It's funny, because if I install 402 without wiping data and using custom kernel it does detect all the updates. Even with unlocked bootloader. Just after installing 314 the update center stops working and shows nothing. I even tried with the old build.prop from 402, still no updates shown 0.o
I downgraded the apk from 2.2.1.A.0.8 (stock 314) to 2.2.1.A.0.4 (stock 402) and still no go. Wrrrr, I'm out of ideas.

it will not work with an unlocked bootloader (tried many times wirh Z2 and xperia s)

[Q] Xperia Tablet Z2 (SGP512) - Still no 4.4.4 Update

All -
Is it just me or is the 4.4.4 Update still not available for USA Z2 Tablets? I got the update on my Z2 phone a while back but no go on the tablet. I have the SGP512 Firmware and I get the fated "Your device already has the latest available system updates" when I try the Update Center.
I have also tried connecting my tablet to a PC but still no luck. I thought these updates came out a month ago? Anyone else experiencing this or am I missing something? I have seen a few dated threads on this subject but no conclusive update as to whether this update has finally been rolled out for the US Z2 tablets.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
No One?
So everyone has 4.4.4 ?
I still havent seen it. Bought the tablet for the remote play feature and over a month with no word. No response when I ask Sony. I love the company but very disappointed in them now.
You can check your region/carrier with XperiFirm

If there is no update for your device on specific region and you want to update to latest firmware you can just use other region ftf-file for your device and flash it via Flashtool. Differences are more or less in bloatware that come with firmware. Also it´s reported that because only difference between SGP511 and SGP512 is memory size also SGP511 firmwares work fine with SGP512 device.
Ah thanks..

I had an update for my SGP512 to 23.0.1.A.4.30 this morning, here living in DE
By th way you can force download an update image using Flashtool. A simple guide is available here:

I'm in Canada and I got the 23.0.1.a.4.30 notification last night. I'm updating through PC companion right now. I'm completely stock.
It seems I was not the only one to get it in North America: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57232943&postcount=80

Differences between each country firmwares?

Now I updated my Z5C to MM using the Singapore FTF. As I live in Spain, wonder if there are differences between the firmwares supplied for each country, and btw is there to get the FTF file for each country.
You can flash any firmware from any country. Just use the "unbranded" or "generic" or "customised" ones for your model number. There are just different kinds of bloatwares in each region and you can uninstall them
One difference in the Dutch (NL) firmware, and possibly others, is that instead of 'LTE' and 'LTE+' in the statusbar it shows '4G' and '4G+'.

Yes! I have a Dutch (NL) phone, flashed an unbranded Lollipop FTF over it months ago (from Austria or so), and now I flashed the Marshmallow 6.0 unbranded Singapore FTF. All works fine.
Of course there might be minor problems, but those would also occur if you did a normal update. But that really depends per phone and such.
Also. Don't get scared when flashing a FTF takes 15 minutes or so and it looks like Flashtool is hanging. Especially the system.sin flashing takes a good 10 minutes. But just give it time.
Feel free to contact me if you need help.
Thanks mate.. Greatly appreciate your response
Hmm kinda think its weird that carrier branded version get online way faster then the unbranded one

I flashed the Singapore ftf without any wiping and everything is working fine. I didn't lost anything. Even my home screen it's the same with all my shortcuts and widgets.
Some firmwares may disabled the VoLTE if that country/carrier doesn't has VoLTE and some VoLTE got different standard/settings too I've heard. Like if I flash the Singapore MM, my HK VoLTE probably will brick out. But other then VoLTE, everything else should work without problem.

Nordic - Bloat can be uninstalled or disabled. 4G icon, no persistent NFC icon.
I'm wondering if not being able to turn off the VoLTE Provisioning Flag in the INFO menu is specific to certain firmwares. I'm using the Singapore firmware and I can't seem to turn it off.
