Which root method should I use? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hello all
I am looking to root my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro to get some more functionality out of Tasker.
Problem is, I don't know which of all the available root procedures to choose as there are so many different ones for different devices I am confused
I know my device has 3GB RAM.
Yesterday I received an OTA update to what I beleive is the latest official ROM as seen here (Qualcomm Global Stable ROM).
It's the MIUI Global 7.5.3.0 Stable.
Here's what the "About phone" says:

}
Which method should I choose to root my phone?
Not really interested in changing the rom in itself, it's just the root I'm interested in.
Any help?
Thanks in advance

Have you unlocked the bootloader yet?
If you want to do it officially? You will need to update to developer rom. Plus request unlock privileges for it.
Look for threads on rooting, if you want to take OTA's in the future, make sure to make backups before rooting.
It is mainly just flashing supersu with TWRP and depending on how you unlocked, also flashing a modified boot.

Thank you for the quick reply.
No, I haven't unlocked the bootloader.
So, if I change to the developer rom, is this already pre-rooted? Did I understand this correctly?

Developer rom is not pre-rooted, you need it to unlock the bootloader.
Then you can flash TWRP and use it to root.
Good Wiki on reddit that will explain it.

That's excellent info, thank you very much.
I'll get on with reading now...

I dont think there is any other way to do so........... Create a backup instead and then go for it.............
Edit: Please if you try the below mentioned method just let me knw if it works???????????
Hey mate, You can flash the Kernel alone without losing any Data. Just untick all the Wipe options on the right top side and include only the Flash Kernel option (Tick Exclude for all other options ) Check attached pic for more info

Edit: If you are flashing the entire rom, ie if you're upgrading from GB to ICS or something, you'll lose your data. No questions there.But if you are talking about rooting process involving flashing Kernels, my above answer is valid
thanks a lot for your tips

Also says superSU binaries need updating but I still have all the theme's and stuff that comes from the ROM I flashed. Any suggestions about why on getting these warnings.

[Help] Where to start with Mod smatphone?

Hello friends, I am somewhat lost with my xiaomi redmi note 3 pro (kenzo) and I need your help and advice.
The cell phone came with android 5.1 (a version that does not resieve any update modified by a Chinese store) and had an error when trying to unlock the bootloader, showed that it was unlocked, with MI Flash Unlock which was a lie.
With MI FLASH I put a ROM MIUI Developers (I do not know about the time, because the official site is in repair)
My version now of Miui is installed on my cell phone

Now when I try to unlock this image appears to me, I was waiting for it, there is no problem in waiting 3 days.
So far this is all very well.
This Monday I can unlock and I am a little happier but the questions are:
1) _ What tutorial do you recommend to install TWPR with OPEN Bootloader that allows me to install ROMs 8.x OREO?
2) _What do you recommend before starting and what stable ROM to install?
3) _flash SuperSU is the way to get root with the simplest open bootloader? Or what method suits me?
I ask because many tutorials are from 2016 and I do not think it is fully compatible with this 2018 and I do not want to leave the cell phone brick.
Sorry if I violated some protocol years ago that I do not post anything and I am somewhat lost android world.
Sorry bad english, and tanks.

MiFlash error - not catch checkpoint(\$fastboot -s .*lock),flash not done

Hi Guys,
I am trying to re-flash stock rom and re-lock Bootloader, because I need Google Pay working and Xiaomi.eu ROM with MIUI 12.2.7 has CTS Verification error and fixes using su and props do not solve the issue.
So... I downloaded the newest ROM for UMI and I receive an error:
not catch checkpoint(\$fastboot -s .*lock),flash not done as on the screenshot below
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When I choose "clean all" option, I get an error: "Antirollback check error".... So I am unable to reflash ROM .
I am using this ROM: umi_global_images_V12.0.1.0.QJBMIXM_20200709.0000.00_10.0_global
Does anyone have an idea how to make it working? Can it be caused by Android 11 installed on my Mi 10?
Phone is not bricked, it's fully operational, I can use Xiaomi.eu rom, TWRP is working, but I cannot revert to stock...
i have the same problem. Did you solved it?
As these are snapdragon devices you will probably find a mine of useful information in the htc forum and other forums of well supported devices that use the same chipset.
Be careful with snapdragon devices as you WILL brick it if you don't know what you're doing.
Dont quote me but for some reason just flashing the exact same rom that the device was running when you rooted it comes to mind.. I could be wrong. I also remember many people bricking because they went the wrong way about relocking the bootloader.
Check this, for anti-rollback bypassing: https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-anti-rollback-protection-brick-phone/

T-Mobile 11.0.1.7.HD61CB update released! Feb 2022 security patch

New update here, but I am getting error (as phone is rooted).
I didn't find solution yet, how to update with keeping root. Didn't have time if someone else know solution please let me know!
Thank you.
Anyone would be nice enough to post a patched boot image for the new update?
It seems that not many people use this phone. They upgraded to newer models, or custom rom.
@bobimbap Doesn't stock allow what I do on CarbonROM after OTA: using Magisk to patch before reboot?

Sorry, I only played around with stock a little before installing a custom ROM.

the thing is that it recognize that bootloader is unlocked and it doesn't even want to start installation of update.

Ah yes, of course. I forgot that I'd heard people talking about needing to unroot, lock bootloader, update, unlock, reroot. Sounds like a lot of trouble. Sorry I couldn't help.
All good. I learned my lesson, never buy TMobile phone
I wish I bought global version and just put back cover from McLaren and call it good
