no map displayed - Samsung Gear Fit

I just run with my gear fit 2. When I view the log of my running route, there is no map displayed. Please advise how to display map so that I can share it on facebook. Thanks.

You must activate location checkbox on setting "exercice" in the Fit2 app
When you start an exercice you see the GPS icon (same that on the phone) blinking until the Fit2 Fix location.

Thanks dersie. But I can confirm the location is lit green by default. I never switch it off. In fact the GPS is working because I can see my running route been traced but there is no map.

How is "route traced" but "no map" ? picture ?
Location must be actived also in settings -> connections

I have attached a screenshot for your reference

Maybe it is when the phone is not connected ? GPS can track GPX data but it has no map, the map is provided by the phone. Fit 2 keep map when it is transfered by the phone for others run but first time it do not have the map ?
I have something like this in Gear S in standalone mode.
And after transfered in SHealth

I had tried the running feature again and the map still did not displayed. I confirm that all the location features are switch on and the phone and watch had been sync for multiple times. The map just cannot be displayed on my watch and subsequently my Facebook posting. It can only be shown in my SHealth which is useless to me

Can I know if your Gear Fit2 is a Korean set? Mine is Korean set and I believe the device try to load the map using Naver Map which is only cover korea and Japan. The one in Shealth app use Google Map and that's the reason it will always show the map

Hi Rican. You are right. I bought my watch in Korea. I lived in Singapore but travel frequently to other parts of Asia. How do I solve this issue?

Unfortunately we can't, it seems the Korean firmware will always try to download map from Naver Map, unless we can install the US/international firmware to the Korean set

Hi Riyan. Noted Thanks. I will try to call Samsung and ask if they can reload new firmware. Their service centre staff is really stupid. I went down there personally to tell them my problem. Their feedback is that my Gear display is too small to display the map so no map is displayed. Even when I tell them it worked in Korea, they still dunno what is the problem and tell me to call their technical hotline. When I email their technical hotline, they gave me standard bull****. They advise me to turn on the GPS on my watch. If it does not work, they told me to bring my watch to their service centre for an inspection. Isn't their support great?

Samsung support is also 1 of the worst support I ever seen. I have to fill up very complicated and lengthy online form in order to send them an email. When I tried to input my model number, there is no correct option for me to choose in their scroll down menu. After I anyhow input a model number and send my email to Samsung support, they gave me stupid reply and I have no way to reply back to their email. Now I have to fill up another complicated and lengthy online form again if I wish to tell them their advice cannot work.

Does this Software Exist for Pocket PC WM2003 ?

Hello
I have been looking for Software for Pocket PC XDA which can be use as Answering Machine" and will serve as personal secretary. It will answer my calls, play prerecoded message of my choice and record a message for me. It has all the features of a conventional answering machine and maybe more.
like for example :-
Answering incoming calls after the predefined time
You can choose pick up time from 0 seconds up to 20 seconds
Playing one of the prerecorded responses to the phone line
You can record your own responses, download one from the internet or just send to your mobile phone via IR, bluetooth or MMS.
Recording a voice message
After "Answering Machine" will pick up the phone and play the response of your choice to the phone line it will start recording the message. You can set maximum incoming message length to be from 5 seconds up to 2 munites.
Pick up and Hang up are possible at any time while AM is answering the call
Even after "Answering Machine" started answering your call you can easily take control - just like with traditional machines
All voice messages are stored locally and are available at any time
That's the best part! You don't have to pay for your voice mailbox to you operator!
A special view allows you to manage recorded voice messages
You can browse, rename and delete your voice messages.
Caller phone number along with the date and time of the call are stored
With a single button (green key) you can call to a person who left a message.
Global indicator of the new messages
Even if "Answering Machine" is running in the background you can easily see whether you have new messages.
i know it does exist for other platform but unfortunately not for Pocket PC Windows Mobile

Sipdroid. How can u get an incoming number?
Get a number from ipkall or sipgate. People like to use either pbxes, sipsorcery, and/or sip2sip as a bridge between sipdroid and ipkall/sipgate. Then just install a gvoice callback app from the market.
Using sipsorcery, I can skip the gvoice callback, as they have gvoice callback script support.
i was never able to finish setting up google voice with my ipkall number. when it comes time to verify it how did you do that? how do you recieve the call to verify when it's not yet set up on the phone?
I had it set up first. You can push the google voice set up til later. Just set up ipkall, sip2sip/pbxes (I recommend pbxes, but its slightly more complicated), and sipdroid. Test calling there with any other phone and make sure it works on receiving calls.
Afterwards, you might have issues with tones for verifications. I had gizmo handy so i just put the tablet next to my speaker and pressed the gizmo buttons on the screen as if I wanted to call using gizmo. Skype or other devices/apps that generate standard tones should work too.
I followed this and it took care of the setup for me. You can call in and out with your google voice number. Sipdroid has the option to register at pbxes.org now.

thank you both for the info, time to give it another go
Anyone have any luck getting their bluetooth headset to work? I have mine paired but it doesn't get used in calls
From what I saw, that GV trunk for pbxes isn't for free account?

If you download sipdroid you can create an account with phbox for free. GV account is needed. Pretty decent overall.

This was the way I got it to work. It only takes a couple of steps (I have been messing with this all day). I am seriously thinking about trading in my phone for a wimax hotspot and using my bluetooth headset to talk so yes, I would have a 7 inch phone.
That never hurts.
For some reason when I saw that guide before you rementioned it, I missed the google chat checkbox.
Anyway, hrm, seems I have issues with it. Outgoing calls not having voice... Will have to figure that out.
edit: fixed.... had to reinstall and just manually setup my new account on my device... weird @[email protected]

Contacts Backup. Network connection failed

The message about failed contacts backup appeared for the first time about 3-4 days ago. If i click on it, it disappears but then comes back in the next few minutes. I've been searching Internet about this problem with no success.
Tried to play around with accounts and sync options. Disabling auto-sync indeed solves the problem. But if I have auto-sync enabled and manually uncheck all the accounts updates, then this message still appears.
None of the accounts show that there was an error while synchronization. I've just clicked sync all and it did synced everything successfully but in a minute this message appeared again. Is it related to Samsung main account? Anyone else faced the same problem? Any how to solve it?
I suspect it might be related to the main account but deleting it requires hard reset, which I do not consider yet.

I am having the same problem. Please help.
It's Orange trying to backup the contacts
I had this too and was confused about where it had come from, then last night there was another icon that talked about the Orange network trying to back up my contacts.
So, find the application "Backup" in your applications, go to settings and set it to manual backup and set the reminder to off. This is what I have done and I haven't seen the orange icon since
just to be safe you could enable Contacts sync in your Google account to backup your contacts to google (if you don't mind google having this private data). and on the google contacts website you can even merge duplicates, scan contacts, revert to 30 day old backups and so on...actually quite a nice service!
This has been driving my wife to distraction for the last few weeks.
This fixed the annoying notification issue even though the program had never been run.
Thanks for the info.

uninstall
I've had this problem for a while too, I tried setting it to manual updates but it still seems to run and eat up my battery, I've uninstalled an update to see if this fixes it, is everyone else losing battery to this parasite still?
Solution
Hi, I was getting the same error after installing the latest HTC Desire HD update (on orange). The error message was associated with Orange's "Backup" application. To remove the message, I disabled the application. Go to Settings->Applications->Backup->Force Stop. The message went away and hasn't come back since.
Incidentally, this forum gave me a lot of hassle just to post a (hopefully helpful) reply. 3 different CAPTCHAs, and email verification?! You might get more replies on a forum that treats its users with some respect.
Easy....
settings>applications>manage applications>select 'Backup'>select 'Force stop'.
Done!
bakup
Hi
the best way to cure this is not to disable it.
simply switch of WiFi then go to app's, click backup and follow on screen instructions, once completed switch WiFi back on, done!
the backup app doesn't work on WiFi the first time it needs to sync, after that it works fine

Complete Samsung Internet browser history

Hi all,
I regularly use the Samsung Internet browser for checking out links in other apps. I recently decided I wanted to check out a link I viewef a couple months ago but when I view my browser history, I only see history up to "last month". This is confusing as I haven't cleared the history and I cant see any settings that would automatically clear the history on a schedule. Also, when I start to type the sites address it comes up with auto completion for the site but not the specific url which suggests its storing history of some kind past the "last month". Is there a way to force a full history view? Is this by design? If so it's a really poor design choice especially since there is no option to disable it. Any help would be appreciated.
I heard that deleted browsing history normally ends in the tempory buffer memory. After you closed the app or after still using it after deleting the browsing history, recovering is very difficult and can only be achieved with recovery tools wich mostly need root permissions and usb debuging and if you don't know how to use these tools this can lead to serious damage to your system. Developer tools might also help, but only if one has the knowledge to handle it.

I have the exact same problem, only like 1% of my actual browsing history is shown in the browser's history. And it's 2022 already, they still didn't fix it. I'm afraid if this is important to you, then you should choose a different browser because history is unusable in Samsung Internet.

I'm thinking its some kind of optimisation that helps the browser load faster. Imagine how long it would take to load the entire database of history in to memory. By only selecting a limited amount of records, the browser loading time will be reduced. Google does the same thing but when you scroll to the bottom of the list, it lazy loads more records. As I said in my post, the history is still there but only a limited amount is shown in the UI. I have a drop down now called "older" which are from a couple months ago but as I view more sites today, those in the older section disappear. This makes me think its based on a hard limit, for example, the last 100 history entries rather than based on am arbitrary date. Samsung should really come out and explain this so we can know for sure how it works.
Yes, history is there somewhere (my option to delete history lists 2050 items), but when you view the actual history, it only shows a fraction of those items. But I guess it doesn't bother enough people so they use this system and won't change it because it's been ages...

Flapp on HMS Vs. GMS

Flapp on HMS Vs. GMSFlapp is a very capable travel app, that will help you find hotels, flights, car rentals, or bus routes. It's an all-in-one solution for making your travel plans much easier. Explorer new places to visit, or track your current planned trips. The app is available for free on the Google Play store for anyone with a GMS phone. Users that have an HMS phone can get the app from the Huawei AppGallery. The two different apps have quite a few differences, so let's take a look at how Flapp took advantage of HMS Core development, to bring the app to Huawei users.Flapp on GMSTo set up your Flapp account, you can use your Google or Facebook account. The GMS version of this app opens to the explore page. From this page, you can see exclusive deals and important travel info. At the top, you have options to look for flights, hotels, car rentals, and busses. The bottom of the explore page has more navigation to access trip data, favorites, and your personal profile.

}
More features can be accessed through the menu in the top left. This will bring you to some useful tools like Currency and Country selection.Flapp on HMSThe HMS version of this app has been redesigned from the ground up. To set up your account, you will be able to use Facebook or Twitter. Google is not available due to the lack of GMS, but other social media logins aren't affected.Instead of opening the app to the explore page, you will see the flight search page. Car rentals are also available from the "more" menu. Many of the features from the GMS version of this app are missing, like bus routes. There is a section for hotel searches, but that results in a "page not found" error.
The flights section works well on the HMS version of this app. If you want to use it as your all-in-one travel app, you'll probably want to wait until some of the current bugs are worked out.
Here we go
Very interesting.
its very interesting, how can we handle the support plugins like google map API, HMS MAP API etc..
can you explain.
