Hello everybody!
I am new in android - so far I've only fighted with winmobile. But hope that with U're knowledge we can win again!!
I've got Prestigio 3370B with android 4.0.3. As it starts I can see Prestigio startup animaton and so on. My question is that:
1) Is on that tablet installed software that "covers" oryginal android and some of it's functions? Like sense on HTC mobiles or some "covers" usually installed on GPS devices?
2) Is there posibility to root it? I've found sth on the link:

I managed to unlock it for free using the O2 one month pay monthly trick. I received the unlock code in 48 hours.
got the root and the unlock, have now posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35243450&postcount=1 and uploaded the recovery.img hoping someone would be kind enough to create a CWM for the OT0983.

I think I bricked my alcatel ot 983 by installing something, seriously I didn't know what I was doing, I am so dumb, this is my first cheap android phone.
I found some file called Andread_32_i2e on google downloaded from 4shareddotcom and flashed my phone, and the phone now hangs in boot logo the green android logo
help me, I didn't make any back up
do I need the original stock rom or something, I got no clue

what do you mean unlock? i meant to unlock it to use in other network
i'm not a coder, so i'm not sure what is on your thread, ie. no unlocking info

Some kind person over at 'hotukdeals' did me a favour and got me the SIM unlock code from the carrier. Root was easy enough, unfotunately not much support for this device, without a CWM recovery, or a stock rom, Iam reluctant to do any further changes.
There is an official application called "Alcatel One Touch Upgrade NB v1.02" that may be able to restore people's broken phones to their default brand new state: http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/E3K4W5EI/one-touch-upgrade-nb-1-0-3-setup-medoclite.exe_links
The .exe name says v1.03 so does their website but it is actually v1.02. This may help these of you who have messed up your phones.
my bricked phone keeps restarting so I couldn't use alcatel one touch upgrade

the thing is alcatel onetouch upgrade tells me turn my phone off and connect to pc via usb cable but the problem is as soon as i connect my phone via usb the phone turn on, so alcatel one touch upgrade fails at 65% download from the server

if you guys could give me detailed instructions as to how i can extract the system.img file i might be able to help you. I have a stock rooted phone btw, i've uninstalled a few applications i didn't want and move some to sd using link2sd i think, not sure if that matters or not. My phone is currently not unlocked to all networks but will be within the next 2 weeks.

The phone works fine,but the app store pre-installed in in chinese...so I installed googlplay, it installed fine, but when I click on it It does not open. Although I can install many of the application via 'apk installer' but its really pain to find to apps on 4shared and some local apps are only available on GooglePlay.
I emailed, antelife, and no help or reply from them. emailed THL W6, they replied "We only deal with china customers" So basically there is no support for this phone. and I come across xda developer, although there are many other models of chinese phones here are talked about, but I could not find THL W6 model.
I am afraid to brick it incase I installed wrong image or rooted it incorrectly. I have rooted/jailbroken android, iphones, ipads in the past, but this time I m bit worried this time.
I found another website 4pda.ru/forum/ index.php? showtopic= 400088 and found to be helpful to some extent, but the image and contents are in russian, so not much of help either.
Can any one please help me to root and run GooglePlay store or guide me to right direction.

I am not sure, did you root your phone already or not yet. but its certain you have to root it and install CWM ROM and then move gapps zip to memory of your phone, restart phone in recovery mode and install from SD card "yes" it will install google play and also will fix Location services and will remove other not needed files from phone(only if you want to)
I had made a detailed guide at gurufoxy.blogspot.ie and also a small video just giving some overview, that what is involved etc.

I think it depends from who you buy the phone, some chinese sellers sell the phone rooted and googstore apks pre installed, some even asks extra charges to do rooting etc for you and some even dnt bother doing anything, they only send you the phone as it is(as happened in my case and other previous poster).
I found out after I got the phone that GooglePlay store does not work in China and they have different Appmarket and search such as Biadu over there. So people should make sure this thing with the chinese seller before they placed the order or better asked for rooted and googlePlay store installed to escape all this hassle.:silly:
Can it be that your phone only supports 3 languages,english and simplified/ traditional chinese ?
Then we knew the difference why my app store works, have an multilingual version.

The phone was not rooted, but after searching MTK Droid Root & Tools helped.
That may the cause of googlePlay crash.
On my phone it shows different version ROM than yours, and it does not shows many languages and choices either..
Well, the phone is in great form, its still fast while running so many different apps in the background, but you can imagine it drains the battery fast, but if I turn off bunch of apps, battery life gets better.

No, just rooted and added clockwork recovery to mine. The standard rom is decent once you've removed the chinese stuff from the phone.

To my understanding, the 4 gig ROM has been divided into several areas, such as system files area, cache area, Internal storage area, phone storage area. When you install applications, it will be stored either in the Internal storage or phone storage area. The 2 gig area you mentioned is the phone storage. You can check the spaces left on your phone through "Setting-> Device-> Storage".
For the gps issue, I think this may help. I have thL w6 with 22.10 stock rom.
My problem is regional restrictions in google play.
Cant download very important app for me.
Cracked market from Chelpus 3.10.10 helps with paid apps, but i still cant install some apps because of region.
Lucky patcher with its multi dpi patches doesnt help either.
Did anyone had the same problem?

I came to this forum, to find help for my problem.
Believe me, this problem has me really break my head.
I bought a tablet zync Z930-plus with android 4.0
I began to discover it, connecting and installing applications via Google Play store.
And suddenly, in five days of use, it failed, stilling blocked at the logon android.
The last thing I remember is that I installed an application that upgrad android to 4.2 , I can't exactly remember the name of the application, but I remember that I tried to go to android 4.2. Do not blame me, because I'm not an expert, but I'm curious, and I think that all the things go well.
Now the tablet is still stucking on android logo when I turn it on.
I tried to repair it and reinstall with several method, I did the factory reset ... still nothing, one of this method is that I navigate to the official website of zync, and I downloaded the pack of updating and reinstalling the OS with the PDF tutorial, but the tablet does not connect with the computer (Windows XP), it is still stuck at android logo.
I download and install firmware with the sd card, I got a little,:laugh: but the toutche screen not work, and I came across a Chinese android:crying: !!!!!!....
I do not know what to do now.
Can you give me a hand please
some friendes in forums advised me to go and ask in xda-developers.com, they tell me that i need a firmware that work fine with the CPU of the tablet...for this, i am here, and i bring with me a picture of the "motherboard" of the tablet, in joint

i havent got the file anymore - i originally got it from the settings in the tablet,
settings - about tablets - system updates
it just downloaded the file via browser to downloads folder as i recall, and you copy it out before it detects the update file is there.
it downloads from ftp://mypolaroidtablet.com but i cant access that from my laptop without a username and password
i dont recall it asking when accessing from the tablet, which i cant do as its been dropped a couple of times and now the screen is cracked and the wifi doesnt work

Currently stuck on KK 4.4.2
Is there anyone or anyway to get this ROM so I can manually install it, or anyone who's had this problem and fixed it so I can just update my tablet.

Hopefully you already got it sorted.. However, if not then you may want to know the tools usually used to fix this device are:
RKBatchTool,
AndroidTool,
Or PhoenixSuit (although I've not managed to get this one to work)
You can do a quick Google search on any of the tools mentioned above as well as find information on the installation process including the flashing of the P791 device.
I wasn't able to get mine turned on again but you may be able to. (Years ago I used these tools and got it working again, but can't seem to do it this time, maybe mines just had it. Since writing my reply to your OP I decided to give it another go and was successful.
I used AndroidTools to complete the process of flashing the stock update.img via the "Firmware" tab. If you need any help doing it feel free to reply to this post!

hey, ive been looking for help for a very long time now trying to get my tablet working, got in touch with the support team at Polaroid and they told me i was practically on my own because they dont have a copy of the firmware but now ive found this thread im hoping that you could help me, i dont really know how to get to firmware from the link in this thread to work on my tablet, ive tried loading it from an sd card on the tablet but it fails, i know im probably doing it wrong so some help would be appreciated.
