[Q] Is there a Chromium for Android APK?

I found some build instructions at chromium.org and some public repo (not google's) at github, but so far no apk.
I'm asking because I couldn't find a video or demo of chromium running on android either which makes me wonder if it works at all or just limited to a webview basic mode.

I saw it once and tried researching it but could not find it again. Not 1 apk but 2. You need them both. I do not remember their names.

Sounds like some modded whatsapp apks I seen, but couldn't find anything either
Wonder how difficult would it be to couple the chromium-based webview with a browser UI

Yes, but it gets released everyday.
The trick with the official build of Chromium for Android is that it's constantly being released by the Chromium team.
These builds don't auto-update, so you need to install new builds occasionally( I install a new build every day, personally).
I put together an app getChromium that's available on Google Play(can't link anything in here yet) that securely pulls the latest build from the official repository and installs it.
Code's on github.

You should place the link to your app here for the playstore

The app wasn't being used correctly by most of the users acquired on Google Play, so I've actually permanently moved it to GitHub. https://github.com/andDevW/getChromium. People all over the world were using it to install Chromium and then uninstalling it, unaware that the Chromium browser they're using will never update itself.

[Q] Chinese Samsung Galaxy ON 5 without GAPPS, help!

Hello everyone.
I got this Samsung Galaxy ON5 (SM-G5500 with android 5.1.1) as a gift, someone bought it for me while they were on china. Turns out the phone doesnt have Gapps on it and since the phone is new(launched on nov/2015 i think) i cant find how to root/custom recovery and flash gapps, cant find any roms either. What can i do, can someone help me or am i stuck?
Most likely not much you can do. First I would make sure it's real. Many China based devices are knock offs and not real devices. Then they change the files to make it look real when it's not.

Yes, when i first got it that was the first thing i looked into, it's real.
Wish i could at least flash gapps on it, idealy i would love a custom rom.
I found a chinese forum on google that i think has some info about rooting and a Custom recovery for it, but i've no idea how to verify it, would you be willing to look into it?

I could install gapps on SM-G5500 using TWRP.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/kernel-twrp-sm-g550fy-stock-permissive-t3359198
Thanks to this post for the recovery. Before that, needed to unlock bootloader using a CROM app.

do you know which gapps is working on the rooted g5500? i tried few gapps.
the only way i could get into google store is if i would install the google play apk (these installation usually crash when i open the application) then open twrp recovery and install the micro or pico open gapps (by the way- the open gapps is installed perfectly but after that i can't see the google play in the system. don't know why). the google play store is working until the part of when it should download the application i'm choosing and then it crashes. do you know why?
thx

These links are the best i can do that covers your device:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/root-samsung-galaxy-on5-t3435457
https://urgero.org/index.php?page=howto/android/on5.md
The XDA link is probably the best thread to ask if you don't find what you are looking for.

Do you have accessibility to OpenGAPPS ? That's what I would end up using when I would have an AOSP rom where it wouldn't include anything Google.

I use opengapps on my Samsung S5 with LineageOS. I've never tried microg. Microg has problems with LineageOS because of signature spoofing. I don't know if that would also cause problems with AOSP.
If you use opengapps install the pico size. It is smaller and less likely to cause problems. You can install any additional services not included in the pico package from the play store.

Thank you so much. I will try with open gapps
Open Gapps is Gapps. It is not really different from just installing from google (not putting down what they do here, just saying). Also, you will not be able to install on Android 10 as we have no TWRP.

I was just asking for this. I can't flash a twrp on android 10. Is it because there isn't a compatible version for pixel 3? Thanks
There is no TWRP for android 10 on this device.
