Does the LG G5 H860 Dual Sim support 4G and 3G simultaneously? - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I'm quite interested in this phone. Does anyone know if the H860 Dual Sim phone supports both 4G and 3G simultaneously?
Both 4G on Sim 1 and 3G on Sim 2 at the same time, not 4G and 2G as in most other dual sim phones.
Thanks

Hi,
Unfortunately 4G/2G or 2G/4G and there is on other option. As far as I know only Mi5 can work eg. 4G/3G or 3G/4G. I have got both of them so this info is true and confirmed.
Regards

Thanks to you both. That's really disappointing considering the phone has a Snapdragon 820 and other phones with this support 4G and 3G. Is there any custom Roms that support this functionality?

Are you sure? Can you check the network under sim 2 setting?

Unfortunately at the moment its not possible root LG H860N so you can not install alternative software. Even if, you still will have 4G/2G or 2G/4G because developer do not touch radio module. This a reason I want to get rid of it.
BTW The mobile is really good

htc droid dna 4G

hello..
I have the HTC DROID DNA by Verizon. Bought it from US but i live in GREECE now.
Is there a way to use 4G on my carrier here? (VODAFONE/COSMOTE/WIND. i have SIM from all the carriers). i only get HSDPA from GLOBAL network type. If i select LTE i dont get signal.
Im s-off and rooted. Rom:CM 12.1, lollipop 5.1.1
I dont mind if i should flash another ROM. i just want to use the 4G/LTE that DNA supports.
Unlocking more bands?
Hello guys.. as i mentioned above my problem is that i cant get 4G on my Droid DNA on a non-Verizon SIM card.
i found that the day supports the LTE band 13(700) - Verizon only for 4G. Is there a way to unlock mroe bands on this phone; (like FDD-->900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2600 MHz?
thanks in advance!

Development here is slowed now. But generally I think the band's have to do with hardware so unless your 4g band is specified in the phone specs then no way to add a band.
thanks!

According to the official site it's DualStandby.
"Go anywhere and be connected. Your OnePlus X is unlocked and capable of using dual standby SIM cards with 4G speeds right out of the box. You have the freedom to use it all over the globe, no questions asked." https://oneplus.net/in/x

Yes, I'm using two simcards. :good:
Also check with your service provider before you buy! I just got OPX and put in my korean and my austrian sim card....and well, surprise! The 3G network here in Korea (and apparently in Japan) does not allow 2 active sim cards in one phone. I'm screwed...
Jep, its working.

I asked and got this answer from UNDERkg on youtube: It's not the matter of allowing or not. Dual SIM phones only support one 3G/4G at a time at which the other SIM gets to only pick 2G signals up. Korean networks do not have compatible 2G networks and therefore the secondary SIM has no signal for itself.
I knew that korea had no 2G network but the OPX description says something like 'dual sim 4G standby' or that's what I understood. so I thought it would be working in korea...
There seems to be a bit of confusion here. I'm very curious to know if the Oneplus X is dual sim ACTIVE?
To be clear there are basically two types of dual SIM phones, active and standby. Standby means you can only use one SIM at a time, so you have to switch back and forth. Active means you can use both SIMs at the same time. In other words you can receive a call on either SIM without switching.
I need to know if the Oneplus X is active or standby.....thanks

L24 Dual 3G/4G possible? (stock ROM owners please help)

Hi I am new to L24. It cannot put both SIM cards into 3G/4G. If one is in 3G/4G, the other is forced back to 2G.
I want to use one SIM for heavy data (LTE) and the other for voice only. I now have almost no choice for voice if it is forced to 2G because there is only one "real" 2G carrier in my area.
I have cm13 nightly, and no longer have a chance to test this with the stock ROM. Is this a hardware limitation or is this a ROM bug?

It's a hardware limitation. Some high end phones can do it but not the 5X.

Thanks for the info. The dual standby will quickly become useless as carriers are phasing out their GSM towers. So sad.

Really? So in the future we'll only have WCDMA and LTE?

As said earlier, its an Hardware limitation. It is related to the Battery and Processor in the mobile. Both of them should not drain out to the fullest in faster rate. So to support them these restrictions are placed in budgeted mobiles.

S9+ Duos and Exynos - Dual Sim Dual VoLTE?

Is Galaxy S9+ Duos with Exynos SoC Dual Sim Dual VoLTE or 2nd Sim Card is 2G/3G only?
So, you will want to use two different SIMs and speak use VoLTE for both?
I think it's possible. I have never thought of it this way, but it should work (although I do not have any evidence to back it up)
Looks like SIM2 won't do LTE at all according to phonemore http://www.phonemore.com/samsung-galaxy-s9-plus-sm-g965fds/specs/3886
2G network SIM2: GSM 850/900/1800/1900
3G network SIM2: Not supported
4G network SIM2: Not supported
Data network SIM2: GPRS, EDGE

Sorry, but Phonemore specs are completely unbelievable. It's simply bullsh...
Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S8+ Duos and Note 8 Duos (all with Exynos) have 2nd SIM 2G/3G capable. Why could S9+ have only 2G network on 2nd SIM, if older models have 2G/3G?
Galaxy S9+ Duos with Snapdragon SoC supports 4G and VoLTE on both simcards simultaneously. Is it the same with Exynos version?

Unfortunately non of this devices you mention supports 3G. You have to switch in settings in order to have suport 3G,4G for sim 2 and vice versa.
S8 Exynos (G950FD) supported VOLTE on both SIM but not simultaneously; the other SIM would no longer remain in VOLTE network mode if you selected that mode for one SIM.
It's a shame that below $100 xiaomi phones now support VOLTE simultaneously on both SIM but Samsung doesn't. I hope S9 series does.

If you find out that it does will you let me know please. Currently sitting on the Mate 10 Pro which does Dual VOLTE and Dual SIM 4G, if the S9 can do this too then I'll definitely upgrade!

Well, my pre-order is expected to be delivered by 17th March; I can test and let you know by then.
Will voLTE be enabled by default on unlocked phones? Or will I have to buy an operator modified ROM to have the option to use the VoLTE or Wifi calling services?
Thanks
Its Hybrid Dual-Standby config so unfortunately only 1 sim can be primary at 4G/VoLTE and other can be only 3G/2G at that time.
Yea, I've just got my S9+ Exynos and I can confirm: when 1st SIM card is connected to LTE/VoLTE service, the second SIM card is connected to 3G network
No Dual Sim Dual VoLTE.
Shame on you, Samsung. Half year old Huawei Mate 10 Pro is better choice.

:good: Confirmed in Exynos : Only 1 SIM at a time for VOLTE while the other on 2G/3G . You can use either one of the Slots for VoLTE

Now we need to wait and see if the Snapdragon version can do it.
Another question, if you disable LTE on SIM 1, can SIM 2 then connect to LTE. Or do you have to swap the SIM cards over?

I second that.
I just received my S9+ (via renewal of my mobile contract) and received a dual sim one (check by inserting two sim cards, it does ask for both pins and let's me choose the sim card to use for calling), although it was never advertised as such.
However, it only shows LTE for the first one.
Considering that the dual-sim version is marketed as specific "Duos" devices, those might differ - but I wouldn't bet on it.

You can do that within settings itself.
Problem is not with switching Band of Data SIM; but having both SIM work at LTE simultaneously.

Dual-Sim, 3G for second SIM

Hi want to use this in Australia but a lot of dual sim phones only use 2G for the second sim to stay connected, and Australia turned off all their 2G towers so its pointless in my country, I'm hoping someone has tested and can tell me if the second sim connects with 3G
Cheers.
