Bootloader status: Unknown? - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've got a Z2 from friend which is both Sim locked and Bootloader locked with Bootloader Unlock Allowed: No.
However, my friend did something with hex editing to change this status from No to Yes. He didn't make a TA backup. Now it says Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Unknown and phone has no service and camera crashes. Any solution to bring the phone back to life?

[Q] Unlocking bootloader

hi all
i got my x10 mini from a friend. he said that when he bought it, it was sim locked. so he unlocked the phone.
if i unlock the bootloader it will restore the original sim lock of the phone?
if yes, there is any free way of sim unlocking x10 mini?
It depends on how he unlocked the phone,

the tutorials say that if the output from S1tool is
"SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" - the bootloader can be unlocked
"NOT RECOGNIZED SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" - the bootloader cannot be unlocked
i have "SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" and i know i can unlock my bootloader
but my question is:
after unlock it, will still restore the original sim lock?
Or for other word:
does the S1tool output refers to the possibility of unlocking the bootloader, or refers to the restore of the original?
i don't know if i can really help cause i not really a expert, but i think what they say with
"SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" - the bootloader can be unlocked
is if you have the semc simlock it will still be sim unlocked.
not really sure about it.
mine was SEMC SIMLOCK and after the bootloader was unloloked, the sim unlock was still working fine.

was your phone original unlocked?
yes it was, havent really tought about it.
really dont know if its the same thing
Well, I never used a locked phone, but the linked post says:
if your phone unlocked by setool2 software, use msm7227_setool2.cmd
if your phone unlocked by 3rd-party software other than setool2, do not run anything -
it will disable radio capability of your phone and you will need to unlock phone by setool2 software.

What I understand from the text is that if he unlocked the phone using anything different from setool2, it will disable the radio, but that it can be restored afterwards by using setool2.
Edit: not sure however why "do not run anything" would be in bold if it could be reverted afterwards

Because the simunlock to restore radio with setool does cost money

i think my phone was not unlocked by setool because i have the "SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" output in S1tool
According to the unlocking bootloader guide post (here):
5. If you had
1: the SEMC SIMLOCK CERTFICATE message or if you
2: unlocked your phone using EMMA/IMEI code
3: or if your phone was already unlocked when you bought it (first-hand phone)
4: or if your phone is sim-locked, or if...
THEN
run msm7227_semc.cmd in the directory you unzipped the unlocking files to and press any key to start the unlocking process
So i know i can unlock my bootloader
My question is if i will loose the sim network unlock and the phone will revert to sim locked?
no one knows?
i guess i will try it anyway

Unlocking Bootloader Question

Hi i would like to know what options i have for unlocking boatloader for my x10mp.
when i try to identify the device in s1tool it states:
Simlock state : TAMPERED
and there is no information further more, is it safe to unlock or there is no other options?
am i out of luck?

How to know if my xperia this unlocked?

I get this and I do not know if this unlocked for any telephone company;
Looks like it has a simlock, but I'm not sure
Go to the service menu -> configuration ->
Code:
Rooting Status: Bootloader unlock allowed:
and if it says
Code:
Rooting Status: Bootloader unlock allowed: no
I guess the phone is locked...
(normally the bootloader is independent, but some carriers make it unlockable!)

How to Unlock the bootloader after unlock phone?

Hello to all! I have a Sony Live With Walkman that says, "unlock bootloader allow: No". Well the release by IMEI unlock code I have, and I'm released, the problem is that it still says "bootloader unlock allow: not 'there a way to unlock the bootloader?? The date of manufacture is 12w32
Excuse my English is not very good. Thank you very much!
IMEI unlock via code, dont unlock your bootloader, you need to unlock IMEI via test point method.

[Q] Is my Bootloader unlocked or not?

Hi guys, I'm on the verge of buying a Xperia Z2 from a friend and he claims he has unlocked the bootloader with the official method from Sony. If this was the case I would not buy it because I obviously want to mod the phone without losing any functionality. So I checked if he really unlocked it: TrackID is working and when I dial *#*#7378423#*#* it says "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes". Doesn't this mean the bootloader is still locked? And does the X-Reality option for the display only change after a reboot? Because when I switch between "Off" and "X-Reality for mobile" nothing happens.
Last question: It's the D6503 model, Android 4.4.4, Build number 23.0.1.A.0.167. Do I need to downgrade or could I start modding on this basis?
Thanks

The bootloader is locked. It would say Bootloader Unlocked: Yes if it was unlocked. X-Reality and Super Vivid only work for pictures and videos in the alum app.

Now.
It says the bootloader is locked now, it could have been unlocked in the past.
TrackID works on my phone and i have an unlocked bootloader.
To finding if the bootloader has been unlocked and Drm keys lost, go to
- *#*#7378423#*#*
- Service tests
- Security
What do the first three lines say?

MARLIN [Key OK][Active]
CKB[Key OK][Active]
WIDEVINE[Key OK][Active]
The rest says [Key OK][Active] too.
I guess the bootloader has not been unlocked?

It still may have been unlocked, but it would have been relocked through restoration of the DRM keys. But yeah, all the DRM keys are intact and the bootloader is locked.
