New to le max 2 and need some guidance - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

Hi all,
I've just ordered the le max 2 from oppomart to Europe.
I've ordered the 4gb/32gb version.
I'm an owner of opo the last 2 years and flashed every single custom rom out there so, by no means I'm a newbie. That said, I can't get to understand some things with the le max 2, so I'll make a list and ask for your help and you guidance figuring this phone.
1. There are 3 version of the phone X820/1/9 or just one that was divided to regions?
2. Can I install any rom on any device?
3. Are there are different twrp and root to different rom versions?
4. I see teamspain are great the thing is I don't know Spanish where can I find a comprehensive guide from start for this phone?
Basically I want to root and debloat (preferably a debloated rom) with tbe latest update, the one that improves tbe fp reader.
Thanks for your replies.

I guess that the answers should be as follows:
1. Actually there are 3 versions of the phone with 3 different ROMs (not sure what can the difference be except of numbers X820 - cn, X821 - india, X829 - USA and most probably bands). I personally use X820 (chinese) and installed the USA & Indian ROMs on it without problems.
2. I believe that most of this question was answered in no 1. ROMs are different: USA doesn't allow you to have data on SIM2 for instance and only 3G, data is allowed only on SIM1; Indian is locking your Internal Data Partition, so you have to format the partition in order to install another ROM.
3. TWRP is a little different depending upon kernel as far as I understand. There is one for 5.6 kernel and another one for 5.6 kernel. The best as I can recommend is TWRP TeaMSpaiN for kernel 5.8. It is modified and you can install any ROM with it. I had some trouble with mounting /cust with the normal TWRP though.
4. TeaMSpain has the guides in English as far as I know. If you need any help in the ROM installation, you can ask, but it is pretty clearly explained in each thread.
Regards!

One last question, can I lock the bootloader.
I'm buying the device and want to experiment with it but if I won't like it I want to lock the bootloader and send it back without losing the warranty

I don't know if you can lock the bootloader back, should be possible. Mine came with bootloader unlocked, bought it from honorbuy.

Hey there. I registered now on XDA and hope to get some help. I nave a problem with my Le Max2. If this is not the right place, you can tell me where to post and delete this comment.
However, I was saying... Basically my Le Max2's display becomes so pale and bleach. It happens randomly, at least that's what I think. The greys become nearly white and the blacks a lot lighter. This is very very annoying. It also looks so bad. I can "solve" (momentarily) this by covering the light sensor on top of the screen with my finger. By doing that, the colours return normal. That's all I know.
I am running Cuoco92's ROM. Thanks if you'll read this.

Hi there, this is due to the brightness of light that comes into the sensor. If it's too bright outside, you'll see how the display becomes brighter and it also enhances the whites in some areas (some don't want this); as it becomes darker, the display gets darker and the unnecessary whites go off. As far as I know, there is nothing to be done regarding this as it's how the system works and you'll find it in stock EUI as well.
You might want to disable the ambient sensor, but I don't know how this will affect the device's performance and stability of the system. You can try it though and post results here.

Thank you for your reply. What I did was turning off the light (or ambient) sensor and the better screen visualization (don't know the proper name in english, i've set italian). What happens is, the brightness stays the same (it's manual now) but the colours keep getting paler. Maybe LeEco should add a control for this function. Or the problem may be solved by flashing another ROM (cm13)

[Q] Docomo SC-05D

I currently have a Docomo (Japan) SC-05D which is a Docomo branded Galaxy Note, I have rooted the phone but i'm wondering if anyone knows of any roms or kernels that will work on my phone. Usually I wouldnt have a problem with this, but I do not have the stock Odin file to return it to stock if I should brick it. Anybody?

I doubt anything in the N7000 forum would work for it, given that it uses a different CPU (based on what I can make out from the link below). It seems closer to the i717 Note, but not quite.
http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/product/next/sc05d/spec.html
It uses the same GPU as i717, but unfortunately the CPU is different:
SC-05D Note uses APQ8060 CPU with Adreno 220.
i717 Note uses MSM8660 CPU with Adreno 220.
So i guess you'd have to ask developers if any custom ROM would work on your device if you simply swapped the kernel with the the one supporting your cpu. Since it uses Adreno GPU which already is supported with i717 custom ROMs i guess it might be possible.
Well I have a kernel for the phone so I'm hoping this will work.
hi, i just got my docomo sc 05d, unlock, on softbank. so do you have any information on which rom that this galaxy note can use?
i found this website (in japanese) providing link for downloading stock rom. there might be other information out there for custom rom, but my japanese is not that good. i have a feeling that the custom roms do not support tv and LTE.
thanks
edit: i kinda softbricked mine just now when i try to tweak the build.prop. anway, for sure, the stock rom from the above link does work. flash it back to stock using odin with the tar file (inside the zip).. back to life, unrooted kinda do some more browsing and i think docomo galaxy note is more similar to the korean version rather than the at&t.

Thinking of doing the same thing here. How difficult is it to do SIM unlock? How does it work on SoftBank network? 1seg works ok?

Just go to DoCoMo shop with your phone, photo ID (for my case Alien Card) and 3150 yen and say you want to unlock. They will unlock without any question.
You don't need to be DoCoMo customer. I am using softbank without any problem.1 seg is working.
---------- Post added at 11:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:22 PM ----------
DoCoMo version is very similar to Korean version. I tried to flash Korean ICS (http://pspmaster.tistory.com/179) ROM via Odin. At the last moment of flashing, it was failed. I restarted the phone and it booted successfully with ICS, network and GPS was OK. But there were some application failed to start. After I restart the phone again, I got SIM card error and my SIM card was not detected. So I flashed DoCoMo stock ROM from http://www.sammobile.com/ via Odin and my phone now back to original state except one flash count.
I noticed that size of Korean ICS ROM is biggar than DoCoMo stock ROM and that might be the reason for the failed flash.
One thing I am sure that little modification of Korean ROM should work with this phone.

Interesting, didnt know this was possible. So you claim that you can do the SIM unlock by just bringing some DoCoMo handset, without them checking if you are the actual person who had signed the contract for that particular handset?
Maybe i would try this, but my experience with Softbank in this kind of matters does not make me a believer...

Yes, that is what I am claiming and that is what I did. You can see also here http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/english/support/procedure/simcard/unlock_dcm/index.html . ---"If line subscriptions for DOCOMO cannot be confirmed, the identification of the person who applies is required."
I was afraid too that they would require purchase receipt or something, and I also don't know Japanese much. But luckily I didn't need to explain anything
Sorry, I don't know any other community based firmware

It works perfectly fine with Softbank network. 1seg also ok. no problem at all. it might give you battery drain problem which can easily be solved by editing build.prop.
i didnt even go anywhere near docomo counter to get this phone i got it at amazon.co.jp. around 38,000 (probably cheaper now), already unlocked.
i no longer use it though. i really really really really want the ics update, so i bought n7000 and gave the sc05d to my gf. the n7000 will cost you around 43,000. you can update n7000 to stock ics. i love it with the new premium suite app. no 1seg is ok for me, coz my japanese is not that good

Yeah......
The first root method they created themselves +1 to their flash counter, and 2 units(1 clean and 1 target)needed, as there nobody in Japan knows to use the CheckFus,which can pulls the stock ROM pack from Kies Server......
And then, there are someone from other country(sure that not from Japan),
puts the stock ROM up,and tolds the SHV-E160S tegrak kernel can done the work without +1,but until now most of the blog sites still have the old method left.

You can root your phone by following Korean version root procedure as here http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...-galaxy-note-lteshv-e160s-shv-e160kshv-e160l/
After rooting, uninstall/freeze some unnecessary system application those always runs in memory by Titanium backup or any other root uninstaller software. That will make your phone little faster.
I am also looking for faster rom but seems there is no rom yet.
Official ICS update for much older SC-02C (galaxy S II) has been released. Is there any news for SC-05D?
Even there is Jelly Bean update for Nexus and our newer phone is still 2 version lower
Regarding the update: http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/info/notice/page/120702_00_m.html
・Disney Mobile on docomo F-08D
・Disney Mobile on docomo P-05D
・GALAXY Note SC-05D
will start getting updates about August.
・「F-12C」
・「XperiaTM PLAY SO-01D」
・「XperiaTM ray SO-03C」
・「XperiaTM acro SO-02C」
・「XperiaTM arc SO-01C」
may get updates, but docomo seems to be saying the lack of RAM is making it a challenge for them to get acceptable performance with ICS on these phones:
"■AndroidTM4.0へのバージョンアップ検討中の製品について
 以下の製品については、AndroidTM4.0へのバージョンアップの際、メモリ不足となる場合があり、その際十分な性能が確保できない可能性があるため、AndroidTM4.0 へのバージョンアップは見送らせていただきます"
Those phones all have 512MB of RAM.

More about the SC-05D (and perhaps other docomo phones) you might find interesting:
I disabled LTE on my Galaxy Note (SC-05D) yesterday using Samsung's service mode ( *#*#2263#*#* specifically. Google it for more info...) While I do not yet see any longer battery life or cooler running temperature, this change did finally fix a long-standing problem.
Since I got the Galaxy Note over a month ago, I have been unable to access the net while on the train between Yokohama and Totsuka. My phone cannot send email or browse the web in that area pretty much everytime any time of the day.
Until today.
Today I could browse and do everything just like normal. There were no apparent network problems whereas before there was nothing but problems. Apparently disabling LTE resolved the problem.
I had gone to the docomo shop a few days ago because my battery had been drained to zero, so low that the phone could not reboot even with a powered USB cable connected. Maybe the phone requires more current than USB delivers, so it needs the battery for a boot, but mine was too low, I guess.
Anyway, the phone kept cycling through incomplete boots, sometimes mentioning the battery was too low before the full UI was fully loaded, then rebooting again. Eventually it would only buzz every five seconds or so. There was no other response to attempting a power on with the battery in and USB connected. Coincidentally, when I took my phone in and showed it to the staff at the local docomo shop, it began a normal boot (or a normal charge cycle while off . . .) I used that opportunity to ask a lot of questions and make suggestions and requests.
So today I went in again to tell them that I had fixed the one network problem. I did get patched through to a knowledgeable support person, and she tried to understand everything precisely, apologized for the problem, and said she would pass on the info. I asked her when the first service update would be on the phone figuring that would probably solve some problems -- and I asked about the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade -- again. And this time I got a different answer than the usual non-committance.
On July 2, docomo will issue a press release that may address when the Galaxy Note will get its upgrade. It might happen soon after that, maybe even the next day. So, we Galaxy Note users should check the docomo site on July 2nd. If there is nothing about the Galaxy Note in the press release, a lot of us calling and asking about the update for our malfunctioning phones will have a magnified impact.
Regarding the specific problems with the phone:
- the battery drains fast (perhaps little can be done about this...)
- the phone gets hot enough for the camera to be disabled. Something should be able to be done about this. I can't imagine the Note's current temperature sensitivity is set correctly. For example, today I was typing messages in a restaurant for lunch for about 15 minutes. My phone got up to 42 degrees (I checked later using "Battery Mix"), and I tried to take a photo of my curry set using "Evernote Food", but the camera app said the phone was too hot and refused to run.
- The phone about once a week will lose the network connection and nothing short of a reboot will find it again. This sometimes happens after the phone being in WiFi mode all night and then going out into a 3G area the next morning. Toggling airplane mode does not catch the network.
- The aforementioned cellular black hole between Yokohama and Totsuka when in normal, LTE/automatic mode.
These problems aren't just with me. Searching for related keywords 電池 熱い 弱い すぐ カメラ "SC-05D" will show other people complaining about the same things. I do wonder if the other national and international versions suffer the same fate . . . The LTE chip/ROM is particular to Japan, so I hope Samsung and docomo just couldn't get the best settings for the new configuration before release of the SC-05D but will soon.
Other than these problems, I love the phone. The big size is not causing me much trouble, but it comes in very handy for typing with a decent sized keyboard in landscape mode -- and for eBooks, games, showing photos/videos to others, etc.
This is only for the brave. I take no responsibility if it renders your phone into an expensive brick. As I only have one SC-05D, what I have achieved may not necessarily to the case for you. Still interested? read on.
If you want to test performance of ICS 4.0.3 in SC-05D before the release of official Docomo rom, you can Odin flash SHV-E160K-UF13 (ICS rom for the korean LTE note). Rom can be found at Tegrak's website (http://pspmaster.tistory.com/181; google translate is your friend; I only tried E160K, though roms for E160S and/or E160L may work). Odin will say the flash is an utter failure, showing the big, red, ugly icon and halt progress there. Surprisingly, the phone will boot. Unplug your device, long press power button to force power off, then power on. You'll now be greeted eventually by a new screen with korean letters. Click on the white "arrow" will bring up the language selection section, which now gives us a lot more languages to choose.
One major problem I encountered with this rom is its inability to get onto mobile network. All UK sims I tried (O2, Vodafone, Orange PAYG) failed to hook onto the network. I had some success with one sims I got from my travel in Hong Kong, but reception is unreliable and the phone will drop carrier frequently. As a phone, it's useless. A minor issue I have is this rom is littered with bloatwares. I haven't tried tegrak's kernel for rooting the ICS rom (found on the same website for ICS rom), but, if it works, presumably they can be frozen by TB.
That's that. Everything else works, if not better. Scroll performance is snappier (not buttery smooth, of course), apps load reasonably fast. Occasionally it becomes laggy when switching between apps (or switching on camera), which is not so great, but overall it seems faster. Consumption of battery power is more or less the same as before (when running GB). NFC and Android beam also work, though the apps for handling NFC is purely in Korean. It also boot up must quicker than when it was on GB.
Try at your own risk, don't say I haven't warned you.

Thanks for your post. I tried same ROM some days ago and same thing happened as you. At first boot, the network was ok, but after reboot, my SIM was not detected. That was my primary phone, so I could not afford to use that without network. So I flashed with DoCoMo stock ROM and everything became normal.
GT-N7000 vs. SC-05D Performance
Good bye SC-05D and welcome Gt-N7000. I sold my SC-05D because of the lack of update and slow performance and bought GT-N7000. To justify my exchange, I made a comparison with AnTuTu benchmark and the summery is:
GT-N7000 vs. SC-05D
Total: 3927 vs. 3347
CPU: 6536 vs. 6054;
Memory: 3749 vs. 2973;
I/O: 7025 vs. 5632;
2D: 280 vs. 501;
3D: 2043 vs. 1573.
Except 2D rating, SC-05D is worse in every other category. SC-05D is running on stock Ginger Bread and GT-N7000 is running on stock ICS.

Hmm, have you tired restarting holding the volume button down while pressing the power button?
Can you boot normally?

no, recovery is made through holding volume up and pressing power button. After you see androind with "no command", release up button and press shortly power button. Then in menu: volume down-scrolling through menus, volume up-enter/ok.

Hi, could anyone help me with Adobe Flash? I installed Opera Classic and Opera for Android, tested my pages meteo.pozorka88.cz/teplomer.php and realized that flash doesn't work. Tried icon Flash player settings, finish with Opera and also built in browser but nothing happened. Help please.
I just came across this phone and am considering purchasing it. Before I do, can anyone comment on the pros and cons of the phone? What I am most interested in is the screen as far as viewing angles. I have contemplated the Alcatel Fierce (which has similar guts as this) but was really disappointed with the viewing angles - if you are not looking at it straight on, it gets all washed out/dark/bluish looking. If this phone has a better display than that I may consider getting the GT99.
Thanks all.
I have it few weeks with CoinCity 2.0 ROM.
Pros:
-display
-nearly excellent camera-does detailed pictures
-GPS problems can be fixed with a piece of wire connected to the gps connector-further contact from camera lens. GPS fixes faster and has stronger signal. This week I tried it in my car and capitol city Prague and with some version of Sygic it had ~400m lag from real position of my car. After update to newest version it has no lag. But when standing on lights, arrow moves around my position. Do you remember "static navigation" switching on Sirfstar chipsets? This is exactly what it is about.
-back silicone cover included
-it's fast, no lags
-no trash in stock rom and even more no trash in CoinCity ROM
-good speaker, my wife often says, that I am absolutely deaf, in Cubot I hear everything (I want )
-cheap (banggood.com: 146USD with voucher, free delivery and well packed and on envelope marked as cheap MP4 player for customs reason).
Cons:
-I'm bored from typing anything on display-a lot of mistypings, uncomfortable.. As I had xperia mini pro SK17 and HW keyboard was absolutely comfortable for me
-only one colour led (blue)
-hw under display keys lit only when touched, not with display. Not very easy to find back button on first touch.
Others:
-still did not find ideal contacts and dialer app, as the built in (Coincity) is stupid. I have ConTacTs from some japanese (I think) developer, it is nearly ideal, but could be better.
I appreciate your quick response...not to pester you, but could you tell me about the display? Does it wash out/black out if you tilt the screen too much one way or another?
No problem. I tried to read SMS from ~80degree angle left/right/up/down from direct view and I think I could read it (but the shiny display behaves as mirror, so it is the only reason for hard reading from that angle). No problem with colors, yes, white is not so white as when it directly lights to your eyes. If you mean normal tilt, with normal use, ie. say 45 degree, you will not see any difference from direct view.
I know what you mean from my old camera, where lcd display shows something totally different when looking directly and when lcd slightly tilted. This is not the case with Cubot.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. This seems like a great phone, especially for the price...unfortunately, after further research I have found that this phone will not work properly with AT&T or TMobile in the US.
Good luck to everyone else.

So, given Roms to date are CoinCity 2.0, MIUI v5.3.19, some Samsung clones plus some other stock ones regarding needrom.com. Does anyone of you who owns a cubot gt99/XYZ X1 phone could confirm one of them being the best? Some hints for me on how to start giving my new cubot gt99 a good start?

Label 900F, but bootloader 900V. What is true?

Hi all, thanks for helping me.
After big adventures installing Rom, I figured out the following:
I bought an S5 with Rom G900FXXU1BOC7, in the label under battery there is also 900F, but on bootloader it was and still 900v always (even after rom update). Bootloader is locked and as I tired, (after failed flash twrp I gave up trying install anything else about 900F), the stock verizon rom 900v was allowed by Odin to be flashed.
What is really .y phone? May someone apply a different label on phone to overcome any illegal sell abroad? How it has a 900F Rom if from bootloader it looks a 900v? I've a CID11, there are 900F with CID11?
Thanks for answering

You have a 900F. I bought what looked to be a 900F myself as a second phone, but the first thing I did was to boot into download mode and found it to be a Chinese variant.
Looking like a 900F in the ROM is as simple as a build.prop change, but whomever flashed it may have taken a full 900F system image and combined it with the additional partitions for a 900V.
This is, unfortunately, not uncommon when searching for a 900F.
Since you have a CID 11 device in your hands, it is not unlockable and you are stuck with TW ROMs. If this isn't acceptable, I would work to get a refund/return.
The 900V will work worldwide with at least HSPA+, but it doesn't have all the LTE bands for all carriers.

thanks for info. You noticed me a big problem, the absence of LTE. I've never seen the phone in that mode, but I also never switched on the mobile data. 1) Is the phone going in LTE even without internet? 2) Can I check it without mobile data ON?
About the rest I didn't get everything you wrote, looks possible to mix software components to make the phone appear as different model.
My questions are:
3) Does the eventual lock of LTE frequancies connected with hardware limitations? For example the Toshiba chipset?
4) It looks strange they created another hardware platform to limit the frequencies usage. It looks more a software restriction, that may be removed uploading another ROM.
5) Does only the bootloader (download mode) display exactly (and without any dubt chances) the model of phone?
6) If it possible to apply a label with another model? My label looks original..
7) There are existing 900F with CID11?
I'm not going to ask for a refund.. simply I'm out of period for it. Anyway it works good, waiting for unlock.
Thank you a lot for answers, I hope u can answer them

The bootloader displays the model of the phone that IT was designed for, not the actual phone.
Does Odin allow a 900F ROM flash?
ALSO: You are in the WRONG place for this thread.

3 - Not a hardware limitation, unless they've tuned the antenna in some way.
4 - This is limited by the variables stored in the Qualcomm radio. There are threads out there that claim to allow you to unlock additional LTE and GSM bands. This may be additionally limited in the non-hlos/modem. You'll have to research this yourself.
5 - The bootloader does not lie. Everything else can.
6 - It's possible to apply a different label. They always look legit in these situations. Someone may have even built a "new" phone using the rear plastic of a 900F and the circuitboard of a 900V...
7 - I'm sure there are.
Echoing an earlier comment, this is probably in the wrong forum.

Thank you really a lot!! Very useful infos!! Please don't forget question 1 and 2 )
It looks then that as soon guys will unlock phones like mine I'll be able to upload an F custom rom, and I'll be sure I can use lte. It looks quite impossible they changed hardware for limit that.. expensive and no sense solution

Random reboots on x829

Hey
I got my x829 a week ago and was super excited for this awesome value phone...But from the very start it randomly rebooted with the stock EUI 5.8.016s (been told its US version)
I was very sad since Geekbuying offers no support, now i tried my luck with the "Small EUI 7.1" Custom rom as i hoped this would resolve my issue, to my disappointment it has not, and it still randomly restarts out of nowhere when just laying idle on the table.
Does anyone have a clue what could be the cause and how to fix it?
As mentioned it been there from the very first time i booted the phone, i havnt even at any point inserted a Sim card or SD card as its pretty much useless like it is now.
It gets luke warm to the touch but nothing major that i would think would cause this, also i installed Deadtrigger and played for 30 minutes with no issues...Seems only to reboot when in idle and locked.
Hope you guys have some ideas because right now i have a 200 dollar brick...
I now did a completely clean flash of Resurection Remix rom and the issue is still there, sometimes just turns off and you have to hold in power button for 10 seconds for it to boot up again, other times it simply reboots.
Once its boots and i use the phone it works just fine, i have yet to see it randomly reboot/power off when im playing a game or actively using it, but as soon as it sits idle it goes wrong.
Im thinking it might be doze mode related but not quite sure.
Noone else experiencing these issues?
Im slowly going insane, yesterday the phone trolled me and decided work fine for 8 hours straight (even laying idle on the table), only to start randomly rebooting again.....i used it for quite some time yesterday confirmed that it works perfectly fine under heavy loads.
But every time i stop using it, put it on a desk or in my pocket so that it goes into idle and the screen powers off, then after 2-10min it begins to reboot for no apparent reason.
Im out of idea's i tried some diffrent power profiles in the RR rom, it works fine under heavy load with no power connected so the battery should work perfect i have no clue what could be the issue....
If anyone have any ideas i would welcome them....
Can't you email the guys from Geekbuying and tell them about this problem that you're having? Seems like some serious issue that you're facing over there. Try to contact them and tell them what is wrong. In the beginning they will ask you to install a stock ROM.
I've had a similar problem with my phone, simply the fingerprint was not working upon receipt and my wife didn't know how to flash the ROM, so she had to wait for me to arrive home in order to check if the phone was working properly. After some email exchange, the guys from honorbuy.com were suggesting Stock ROM, buy I was lucky enough that the fp started to work after this. I am not sure that they would respect their 14-day return if I came home after more than 20 days from purchase.
At least you can try to contact them. It can be a motherboard issue but who knows...
Set your minimum Cpu frequency to a relative high value.
Do you have to unlock the phone by tipping the PIN of your SIM card after the random reboots? If so it could be a problem related to your SIM...
Normally if you inserts the SIM card while a Android device is powered on and running, the phone is going to reboot and you have to tipe the PIN. I know about many phones that are having problems with specific SIM cards. And our Le Max 2 is one of those. The most reported issues are totally killed cards for example. But random reboots are also a common problem. I don't want to go more into details, cause it's a stand alone story.
So you can check if the device will perform normal and without rebooting by using it without a inserted SIM card.
If you're not facing any problems then you can simply try another SIM ...
Here in Germany are hundreds of people who are getting frustrated because of this kind of problem. Older cards getting killed by newer phones (especially when the phone is a so called China phone). For example combination of xiaomi mi 5/5s and T-Mobile Germany seems to be a problem.
Indeed sim cards can reboot phones, if we're you I'd install another Rom , with full data wipe (very important). Remove sin card in the night and check if phone is ok in the morning, use 3c toolbox app to check error logs (root required)
Like unrafa said, remove Sim card over night and let the app do it's job.
I'm also using 3c toolbox for many years now. It's the best all in one app when it comes to failure and issue tracking!
?
Hey thanks for all the replies
I have never had a sim card inserted, i tried to put one in yesterday to see if it might solve the issue, but it didnt.
I booted into TWRP and waited for the screen to time out so it went into idle, there it behaves just fine when the screen is turned off, but i think TWRP doesnt force a "idle" state because i noticed the battery went from 80-5% with the screen off in about 9 hours.
I did think about the CPU freq myself but im thinking its about the minimum voltage maybe, setting the freq higher i cant see should fix anything, speaking from my experience with undervolting/overclocking computers im guessing the current minimum cpu freq isnt stable at the voltage its getting.
However i have never done any undervolting/overclocking on phones, how do i go about doing it in an easy way?
I will try install 3c toolbox and see if i get any useful info, should come pretty fast as it most of the time happens within 2-5 minutes of the phone being idle.
It is a known bug with the x829 variant aka the canceled US variant. I have experienced it with my prototype x829 since I got it for doing beta testing for LeEco. It happens less often on MIUI and AOSP/lineage based roms. X829 will never be officially launched all of its inventory was dumped on to Indian and Chinese sites.

Actually, it doesn't. From a hardware perspective, the X829 firmware pulled from one of those beta devices works fine on the other model name variants. I've run it for a while on my X820, and never experienced a random reboot.
It's also not beyond the realm of possibility that LeEco took a lead off base and had a metric ton of cnc'd aluminum shells and packaging made, printed with the X829 name and US applicable FCC information, and later scrapped the idea in favor of a new, US only model. And, rather than recycle the finished parts for the value of the base metal, slapped them together with possibly sub-par internals (i.e. finished circuit boards which proved during QC to not be 100% reliable) and dumped the result at very low prices into the Chinese re-seller market, where they happily flashed them with the older, leaked X829 firmware to make them attractive to frugal US buyers. Come to your own conclusions, but consider the lower price tag of the models sold as X829's, which are not supported by LeEco USA, and ask yourself how this model came to be.
Does anyone have any definitive knowledge of specific hardware differences between these models, or is it still in the realm of assumption and "urban legend"?
Well i sure hope thats not true, i installed 3C now and turned on the event monitoring, waiting for it to reboot again.
Speaking og this topic, check this screenshot, i found it bit weird my phone score that much lower than a real x820.
My device identifies as x820 on the left because og the RR rom.
https://imghost.io/image/aSDUO
Im guessing this big a difference isnt because of a poorly optimized rom.
My x829 that I got from Banggood on Monday hasn't rebooted on me once, the fp sensor works fine, and I've had no negative issues with it at all actually.
I'm just super confused about whether it's flashable or not, and what ROMs have a functioning camera!

Resurrection remix rom works perfectly fine except my little problem, but i had that with stock rom aswell.
Small update, after installing 3C and turning on the recording it has not rebooted, i wonder if the recording prevents it from 100% idle state thus solving the problem.
If anything its a good temporary solution and i guess proves its not hardware related :/
This is the longest its gone without reboot in idle (about 13 hours and counting), i will shut it down and insert a simcard + turn on recording and see what happens now.

Maybe, maybe not. Sounds like it could be a power management issue, which may well be hardware related. With the logger running, it may never try to go into deep sleep.
The performance numbers are pretty poor as well. I'd give a clean install of AOKP MM a shot and see what you get with that ROM. My X820 scores well above the recorded Antutu score for X820 with that one installed.

What solutions have you been offered from sellers regarding the fingerprint defect?

So I recently bought two Le Max 2 X829's from Banggood for $196 each and didn't find out about the fingerprint sensor problem until after... I haven't received them yet, but I would like to know what solutions have you guys been offered when you contact your sellers.
I haven't had any problems with Banggood or their customer service. When something I buy is defective, I just email them directly, with a description of the defect, pictures and a YouTube video too if possible, and I make sure to tell them that I have already troubleshooted, checked the forums, and tell them that the defect is common so that they don't give me the run around. They usually go straight to offering me replacement parts for free, or a partial refund if the device still "works" and can be fixed by me, or simply a return label if I insist that I want to return it.
Chime in...
Nothings, its too expenisve to send it back to China. I just resell them here in the Netherlands, you will easily get your money back.
its a software issue, if u change the rom it gonna work good!
if u want the stock the 23s Chinese ROM and 19s Indian ROM are the best....
but theres are more roms that can help you with that!

Why don't you just stop talking about things you don't know anything about!?! I guess you haven't read only one post in fingerprint issue thread. Otherwise you wouldn't write something like this.
Just search for my posts inside the main fingerprint issue thread to get yourself some information about what you are claiming to know.

I've read through several of the threads and it was a massive waste of time. The forum for the Le Max 2 is pretty disorganized, there's very little moderation, and no consensus can be drawn as far as solving the fingerprint sensor problem is concerned. Just a bunch of inexperienced people rambling and contradicting each other.
I have plenty of experience and two Le Max 2's on the way, so I'll draw up some tests and make an objective observation when I receive them.
With the unorganized and inexperienced points you are absolutely right. That's why I give up on explaining to many people how to solve the problem. Me and my girlfriend are both running Le Max 2 with madmax rom for long time now. In the beginning my device had a totally dead fingerprint scanner. After some research, trying few settings and stuff I was able to break it down to Qualcomm drivers/firmware.
In German board we were able to get most of the phones FP running again. (Experienced users phones).
Nearly all devices with Dead FP's are running on old couco 92 rom.
If you're facing issues after receiving the phones flash another room ( stock Chinese or custom based stock from the forum) and try to follow the instructions i wrote in the fingerprint section...
That's said, my girlfriend and I have the x820 version.
Give it a shot and you will see the point of the problem and how to solve it...

I have x829 and changing roms, modems, unbrick method, haven't worked in bringing FP back to life. So it may be mixed, in my case seems like hardware issue.

On my case fp work only several hour since unboxing. Now it cant recognize any fp when i tried to register it. But the weird part is sometime it kinda work for taking pictures using camera. I said kinda because it works 50% of the time, when working i touch once but the camera is taking 4 or 5 pictures.

I flashed the Indian 19s firmware last night and the finger print scanner is working back now, though it is a bit slow (not as fast as Redmi Note 3 ), but it works 100% of the times. The only thing abnormal I have done is that I have scanned my finger twice ( same finger).
Previously I tried all tricks with LOS and Mokee and could not get the Finger Print scanner to work.

The problem i had before was that the FP sensor did not respond when trying to unlock i.e. looks like it was OFF. Previously even if you left the finger on the sensor for 10 seconds i did not react at all. The only cases when the FP reader worked was immediately after locking. Also the sensor did not have any problem adding fingerprints.
