Quicksettings on MM and Honor - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there I recently updated my phone to MM 6.01.
It bugs me that I can't have all Quick Settings in the status bar...only the 9 "most-wanted" icons.
Does anyone know a way to fix this? I miss the old Quick Settings from 5.01.

Hi,
Yes and no,
That's anoying of course, but it's not a bug, MM 6.01 have also lost the "back with fingerprint"
Personnaly, i add the basic widget, to have back my sync.
But, by changing Dpi you can remove the "setting" trigger
That's why, i prefere Lollipop, but i hope one day they'll put back this ....

Hi,
To get systemui.apk, is there a way to send it to the pc for decompile it ?, And what to edit in there ? Thx
Edit 1 : found the path : system/priv-app/systemui

@Kikito94 : Sorry but I'm not a App Developer, so I don't know what to specifically edit in there, but I think you have to edit various smali files to change the toggles, they are linked to some IDs in some xml files. I followed this guide to put Lidroid toggles in my JellyBean device, I hope this guide is not expired as now we have Marshmallow.

Top Notification Bar background color..

I previously had a Galaxy Tab that Ive used for 3 years with Android 2.3 that I customized almost everything, mainly on the framework-res.apk and system.apk.
On the Mega 6.3 running stock Android 4.2.2 I am trying to change the background color of the top Notification bar from the greyish tone it has now to just pure black but I cannot find the resource.. should be a PNG somewhere.. I thought to be on framework-res.apk but I dont seem to identify it.
Does anyone know which file it is or how to change the background color of the top Notification bar?
Thanks a lot in advance

First of all zeyadhan thank you very much!!!
It looks beautiful. Perfect!! Question, now I have a sticky ANDROID IS UPDATING.. Starting Apps pop-up every time I reboot the system just before the reboot is complete and the home screen comes up. Do you know why? Any way to get rid of it? No harm done, is just annoying and delays slightly the boot-up time..
Can you tell me what you modified on the APK so maybe I can try it do it myself later on a future OS upgrade?
Thanks again

Please accept my appologies, i am unable to help you with a single line date.:crying:
Your SystemUI is fairly different to the one that i am using, and does not contain the xml files that i use to change the date to a single line.

This should make it 2 lines. This is not a flashable zip, but if you want I can make you a flashable - I assume your systemui is at /system/app/?
What was changed?
In \res\layout\status_bar_expanded_header.xml I removed android:singleLine="true" from the com.android.systemui.statusbar.policy.DateView view, which should allow for 2 lines when needed.

sorry to hear that... you could try wiping cache and dalvik and see if it makes a difference, but without the singleline in there it should go to 2 lines when necessary. That's how it should work anyway. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

[Q] Porting Emoji from Android 4.4 in any rom.

Hello all!
As you maybe seen, Android 4.4 (KitKat) has awesome color emoji.
I looked into the sources, and I think I managed to found what does make emoji in color :
--system
------- fonts
--------- AndroidEmoji.ttf
--------- NotoColorEmoji.tff
-- etc
--------- fallback_fonts.xml
--------- system_fonts.xml
In framework-res.apk, it as some png of some simple emoji.
EDIT :
I found something else in my insvestigations.
In CM11 and KitKat source code, it has a folder emoji inside "framework/opt/".
In emoji folder, it has
- Android.mk
- CleanSpec.mk
- EmojiFactory.cpp
- EmojiFactory.h
And i'm sure EmojiFactory has something to do with colored emoji.
Like these comments line say :
// Returns binary image data corresponding to "pua". The size of binary is
// stored to "size". Returns NULL if there's no mapping from the "pua" to a
// specific image. Currently, image format is all (animated) gif.
Click to collapse
In "frameworks/base/core/java/android" it has an emoji folder, with EmojiFactory.java file, which call libemoji.so.
EDIT 2 :
They talk about emoji here :

Hello all!
As you maybe seen, Android 4.4 (KitKat) has awesome color emoji.
I looked into the sources, and I think I managed to found what does make emoji in color :
--system
------- fonts
--------- AndroidEmoji.ttf
--------- NotoColorEmoji.tff
-- etc
--------- fallback_fonts.xml
--------- system_fonts.xml
In framework-res.apk, it as some png of some simple emoji.
Anyway, I made a flashable zip with these files and fonts, and I don't see any emoji, even in white in black.
So, could someone help me to find what's wrong?

Check my EDIT 2 on my post! I founded something like EmojiFactory, and so one inside framework. Anyway, I have to check how it work and which files I have to change... Please, a skilled dev can search with us and make an xposed module? I would be awesome!
Got an idea. Have to extract maybe KitKat already build framework and check for Emoji...
Hoping to see this solved and ported to an xposed framework!

I hope too. But I guess dev or members who are in 4.4 doesn't care about Emoji in old version, I understand them.
For me, I would love to enable it in Android version coz I have a rom which is in 4.2.2 and I'd love to use with Emoji, in color.
But for the moment, I'm not even enough skilled for build a rom, it always crash... :crying:
I hope someone gets an answer soon, cause I want KK emoji in my JB ROM

You should try with KK Keyboard on Play Store, is the stock Kit Kat with colored emoji. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kitkatandroid.keyboard&hl=es_419

[APP][EMUI 4.1 / EMUI 5]Huawei compass apk

Hi all guys, yesterday i was giving a deep look at system apps until I've noticed that the Huawei compass app, that i always thought was a system app too, could be totally uninstalled from my phone and not only deactivated like other system apps. So, before removing it i had take a backup of it with ApkExtractorLite, since that it could come useful in future but not at the moment. The reason for me to open this thread is that with the APK that i had obtained from the extraction, I wasn't able to reinstall the app because when i try to launch it i get an error that says something that, due my distraction, i didn't screenshot or take note 'bout it before trash it. Now that i've got it back, i put it here for everyone.
*A little note
Dunno if this could be related to some protections that Huawei could have wrote in their apps, or if the package was just corrupted (even if i strongly believe that it couldn't be since that i use ApkExtractorLite from more than one year and it never missed a shot)
SOLVED! If you need it, download the apk that you can find in attachments. The first one is for EMUI 4, the 2nd one is for EMUI 5
*UPDATE* I've just noticed that after that i updated my device to EMUI 5, the compass app doesn't work anymore. Plus, i get an error that says "Compass is incompatible with this system version" so I'll update the thread specifying that it'll works only on EMUI 4.1. If someone will find a version that is compatible with EMUI 5 before me, if it exists, write here and I'll be glad to put it here for anyone that could find it useful.

Thanks for the tentative man, but the result was the same that I've got with my APK extracted and that i now remember, as you can see in attachments. I'm italian, so I'll translate for everyone else: "Analysis error - error meanwhile the package analysis"
And this is the reason that force me to think that there is some kind of protection by Huawei on their apps... If i have a 6X, and i try to install an app that was on 6X's stock rom, why the f*** the app installation should go wrong?
Thanks anyway, but i still need help

Because i don't am motivated enough to do that for a single app that dammit, there must be a way to take it back!
Got it back for the ones that could be interested to download it for whatever reason, I've placed the apk in OP attachments.

Sounds incompatible with your actual build, i got the same error as described in the previous page; but this is because every apk has its own signature, and if mine is made for BLN-L21C432, it could not work if installed on a BLL-L21, for example, so... what's your build number for extended? Mine is BLN-L21C432B36x. Never found an app that works on every model by the way

And that's why it won't work. Because Huawei surely made every apk compatible with its own original build and no one else. This means that you'll have to find someone who owns a BLN-L22 device and ask for the compass apk... mine will work only if on BLN-L21C432 (yeah, this truly sucks!)
