1- Support USB-Sticks, Thumbdrives, Etc (Check Images below)
2- Support using a PORTABLE DRIVE ( Yeah a 2.5" Hard Drive and is formated with NTFS ) i have never try this before but i bought this little piece of tech. USB-C to USB 3.0 Adapter for my USB 3.0 Thumb drives and ended up trying with my Seagate 1TB USB 3.0 Portable Drive and works
The USB-C to USB 3.0 Adapter i got is the one below :

WOW! I am stunned we even got something going on after we got the Boot OTA (B20_boot) rolled for members to play around.
I wouldn't even surprise me if we get an AOSP merge going on in less than a month, BUT, given the irritating and atrocious delay on Axon7 supplies, I don't think it will actually happen in less than a month, when the second waves of gold Axon7s reach users.

Yea its surprising how everything just started to get off so quickly. I wasn't even expecting root for a while but this is great. It seems ZTE left alot of the underlying things as stock as possible so might be not too bad for AOSP port, but yea definitely need to start delivering to phones quickly. I really wish they released the full stock ROM files, hope it doesn't take too long and they end up doing it.

I believe the second wave it's coming ... at least Newegg it's shipping already not waiting until 9/9 ... I order 3 phones and the 3 already been charge on my credit card ? whit a prior email saying that my order would be processed whit the next 24 - 48 hrs

Thanks for this thread. Man, the development on this phone is moving way faster than I thought. I really have no regrets for buying this instead of the OnePlus 3.

Xposed is not working for me. I flashed the framework through TWRP and wiped the cache and dalvik but when I install the app and open it, it says that the Xposed Framework is not installed. Can someone please help me?

What does this mean?
"(IF YOU ARE SYSTEMLESS ROOT , THIS WILL BRAKE SYSTEMLESS)"
I thought all Marshmellow root was systemless
http://www.howtogeek.com/249162/what-is-systemless-root-on-android-and-why-is-it-better/
What about systemless exposed?
http://www.droidviews.com/install-systemless-xposed-android-devices/
Does this help with that or am I off topic?
http://www.xda-developers.com/use-android-pay-with-xposed-without-rebooting-with-magisk/
I guess i'm just confused about what difference does it matter if I brake systemless or not.

Do I need to install SuperSU after the systemless root to gain root?

How do you install TWRP? I have an error "FAILED (remote partition flashing is not allowed)". Any ideas?
Ok I found the reason why TWRP was not installed. The bootloader was still locked after I installed the zip file and I didn't see the prompt to unlock it. For those who are having trouble like me, you have to type "fastboot oem unlock" in adb console to get the unlock prompt.

OK, so I have a little problem. After I flashed the SuperSU zip, my device for some reason factory reset and with it deleted the TWRP backup in the internal storage, so I could not restore my data. My Axon 7 is now showing the wrong internal storage. It says that there is only 4GB instead of 64GB. I have already factory reset it at least 3 times and it didn't work which means the system itself is corrupt. So can someone please be so kind as to post the system image file that they backed up through TWRP? Thank you.

Ah ****!! I think I just brink my phone. Does anyone has a backup of the phone that I can use to reinstall OS?

Root ZTE Grand X View (K85)

EDIT:
PureXTC has created a guide to root our ZTE Grand X View!
I'll try and make this as easy as possible. This is my method to achieve root and is probably the recommended way for this tablet.
Download the following files for preparation:
a) my TWRP -> https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ap9_Z3bA7_tfoDlE_abd5_iZFWh6
b) a flashable copy of SuperSU -> https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ap9_Z3bA7_tfoEJF_VJhWz8Mreoj
c) latest version of MagiskManager (check his thread for current or use this one for now v5.5.5) -> https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ap9_Z3bA7_tfoEEpe7mbptS6o6NR
d) adb/fastboot drivers -> https://1drv.ms/f/s!Ap9_Z3bA7_tfoC_8yDTPtNYhcxqf
How to root:
*** This assumes you have some basic knowledge of adb, driver installation, command line ***
-----
Copy SuperSU and MagiskManager to your internal SD (or external if you have one)
-----
install ADB/Fastboot drivers from connecting K85 to PC (open the drive it attaches to and run the .exe)
-----
reboot K85 into bootloader (hold vol down + power)
press vol up or down to stop the countdown to auto-reboot (if applicable)
-----
copy all files from my ADB-FASTBOOT folder to the root of your drive (ie. C:\)
-----
open a COMMAND PROMPT and make sure you are in the ADB-FASTBOOT directory (C:\ADB)
-----
type this command: FASTBOOT -i 0x19d2 devices <ENTER>
you should have a result showing ZTEK85 is detected (ZTEK85 fastboot)
-----
copy my TWRP to C:\ADB
-----
now type: FASTBOOT -i 0x19d2 boot ZTE_K85_TWRP_3.1.1-1.img <ENTER>
wait for about 10-20 seconds for the device to reboot
-----
you should now have my TWRP displayed in all its glory!
-----
choose INSTALL, navigate to where you have SuperSU, select it, and swipe to install.
-----
reboot your K85
-----
run SuperSU and let it do its thing. If you're happy with SuperSU you are done. If not, continue on
-----
open your file explorer of choice and install the MagiskManager apk. Open it when it is done and choose to install. You want the last option (sorry, can't remember exactly what it is).
-----
once completed let your K85 reboot
-----
run SuperSU and go into settings. Look for the option to remove SuperSU to replace with another SU binary (or something to that effect). It may reboot your K85.
-----
now run the MagiskManager app and ensure you are rooted
-----
Get up, do a little twirl, and pat yourself on the back. You're rooted!
*** This is all done from memory. It is my hope I didn't forget anything! ***

I've tried numerous apps, PC root utility's, and universal rooting guides to root my ZTE K85 and I've pretty much gotten no where, please help. If you need any more info, just reply to this post and I'll answer it (probably).
I also can't get the device to be detected using fastboot but it shows in device manager. ADB works when not in fastboot mode (powered on, at home screen). Any help is appreciated.
I can access adb sideload but I didn't use it yet.
Could I extract the entire system and install root and flash it?

Thank you.
Yikes -- Also at a loss here....

Are we the only 3 Canadians trying to root this thing? Any help would be appreciated....
I'm looking to see if there are any other 615 SoC based phones/tablets that may have compatible custom recoveries to temporarily boot into and install supersu. It's so damn new and chinese... hard to find. Maybe any chinese-speaking Canadian customers may be able to help us decoding some foreign forums out there?
XDA Admins
Can we get a device forum for this soon-to-be badass tablet once we get a decent ROM for it?? 2GB and a octacore.. this thing will SCREAM with CM or AOSP... PLEASE
I got this exact table too from Virgin on some special deal and the stock ROM is absolute garbage. I desperately need to root this thing due to how crappy it performs.

Unfortunately no! I'm still stuck on stock. Which has also presented another problem - a failed BT keyboard pairing that always reports invalid PIN without giving me a chance to enter one, even after a factory reset. Great!
But that is for another forum. If we K85 users ever get a forum.

Just flash the .zip?
Should be pretty easy in theory,
Download the zip, boot into recovery (power button + volume up) flash zip, done. (haven't tested it yet, I hope to)
Also, I don't know if you people know, but this is a pretty much Canada exclusive device, which is why there is so little interest in it.

Nevermind, just tried it, doesn't work. I'm gonna try and compile TWRP for it and see if I can flash that.

I don't have enough experience to go about porting say CyanogenMod or OmniRom to the ZTE Grand X View, and not enough time. Good luck with your efforts but I seriously doubt you'll be able to root this device any time soon.
Has anyone tried a Blade S6 root method? They have the same chipset (MSM8939) and I believe they were shipped with the same OS

I can't find any rooting tutorial from XDA developers for the Blade S6 edge, plus the bootloader on the Blade S6 is locked, I don't think the ZTE Grand X View would even accept a root from a Blade S6.

Yeah, there isn't one. You'd have to compile TWRP guide , which I believe uses OmniRom, and you can find a guide on porting OmniRom to another device here: https://docs.omnirom.org/Porting_Omni_To_Your_Device
root for zte grand x view.
Hi, I just bought the device and used Kingroot apk. It works. Used Root Checker to verify. Now to find out about custom rom for it!
Anyone got Lineage working on this thing? It'd be nice to have Nougat.
Rooted!
I was able to root it using KingRoot (Android Version)

[GUIDE]How to root LG G Watch on 6.0.1 with squashfs

This is just a mirror to my original thread on superSU
Make sure you have adb installed either via the sdk or adb minimal
Here is a guide for anyone running android wear 6.0.1 on rooting
(from PC)
1.Unlock the bootloader if not already unlocked
(Make sure to boot to system and set up device after unlocking bootloader otherwise broken kernel! )
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock
2.flash THIS TWRP onto the watch MAKE SURE TO USE THIS ONE!(current official cannot mount squashfs system)
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img
3.Download special SuperSU here with busybox YDS included HERE and move it to watch with adb push to /sdcard while TWRP is booted and then install as normal zip
Code:
adb push nameofzip.zip /sdcard/
4.Boot watch to system (ignore TWRP message of no OS installed) Now your root apps from 5.1 should work perfect
REMEMBER squashfs is read only even with root so don't bother trying to modify system files like the build.prop
If you would like to change pixel density perform this command in either adb shell or a terminal emulator:
Code:
wm density <dpi>
Please leave thanks if it helped!
New Update!
updated to superSU 2.79
reverted to previous busybox due to incompatibility

Yeahhh I figured that out after a while. My knowledge with rooting android wear is very limited at the moment. I've read as much as I could in one night lol. After figuring everything out with twrp/rooting I know have root and everything is going smoothly. Thanks for the tut!
okay, i used ur tutorial... fastboot flashed the twrp and pushed the supersu via adb to the sd... installed the zip via twrp... on leaving twrp it says "no os installed"... when i try to reboot the system it always just boots straight into twrp
/edit
okay! please add to your tutorial that you have to reboot and pair your watch first, after unlocking the bootloader! thx

What's confusing you? It's almost the same as rooting a phone flash twrp install supersu zip
Posters saying this is missing etc...im unsure whether posted tools etc are all there...rooted plenty of phones etc..just never a smartwatch..dont want to end up with a nice paperweight (I know its always a risk) seems some people have had a couple of issues Os missing etc..

OS missing is just fault of twrp not me besides it's meaningless error it simply cannot write to system so it assumes it those not exist. Everything you need is there apart from adb but just get adb minimal from XDA. With my method there is no risk of a paperweight it only touches recovery and kernel which both can be easily replaced. The only thing that can really kill a phone is a messed up bootloader update/mod. I have taken everything posters said into account and updated accordingly. Originally I just wrote what worked for me but now I updated it for universal use
Thanks for the reply & clarificartion.. you say 1.Unlock the bootloader if not already unlocked
(Make sure to set up device after unlocking bootloader otherwise no boot!) does that mean after unlock it will reboot into OS and you perform language setup & pairing ? or after its done the unlock it go's straight into os for setup ?

After unlocking go straight to OS and setup because rooting with an empty data partition breaks the kernel
Do you reboot or does just go straight in ?

[Factory Images] Nougat B15 ( A2017U ) Update in SDCard update form - Available Now -

Hi everyone,
I'm just here announcing for anyone who doesn't know and have the A2017U (USA Axon 7), The Nougat B15 update (SDCard Full Zip) is available online for those who need factory image base on Nougat B15.
Where to Download? :
* ZTE Axon 7 B15 (Nougat)
* Click / Tap " Software Updates "
Things to know about this Nougat B15 SDCard update zip :
FOR LOCK BOOTLOADER USERS :
1- This update.zip will perform a FDR / Factory Reset
NOTE : save everything to your SDCard or PC before proceeding with B15 update.zip installation
FOR UNLOCK BOOTLOADER USERS :
1- Same as Lock bootloader users. (READ ABOVE)
2- This zip file will replace current recovery for the stock B15 recovery.
3- Your bootloader will remain unlock, BUT you no longer will be able to execute fastboot commands.
I just want to Thank ( BIG THANK YOU ) to our hero @SShasan from Z-Community for this update / factory images file, WE wouldn't have this file if wasn't for him.
Always good to have another image.
@DrakenFX, I saw the update when I checked a few days ago. Too busy to make a post about it.
In any event, looks like they're including a fastboot.img again. Have you had a chance to compare this against previous fastboot.img's? My guess is it's similar/identical to b29.
For those that want to preserve fastboot commands and twrp (this too should be flashable in twrp as b29 was), just edit the update script to remove the lines for fastboot, recovery. Probably a good idea to leave the format user data if you're switching between roms.
These lines specifically in update-script.
Code:
package_extract_file("recovery.img", "/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery");
package_extract_file("fastboot.img", "/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/fbop");

What is the process for deleting these lines? Last time I tried it wouldn't flash.
No need to quote an entire post when your reply immediately follows.
I use notepad++ to edit. Regular notepad does something to end of line indicators. Use 7zip to extract and update the script file.

Those 2 lines and the last line : Wipe Data
Well if you want to keep data if not , just leave it there
I thought not formatting data could lead to decryption issues when switching between rom bases. For example LOS --> Stock.

If you switching from NON-Stock ROM to LOS base Roms, so yeah DATA needs to be wipe. Otherwise you can remove that line...Is not like TWRP doesn't have the ability to wipe data hehehe :silly:
Is it possible to downgrade back to b29 if nougat goes haywire on me?

How can I get back fastboot commands?
@DrakenFX
On B29 I was able to add the modified update-script file using 7-zip without any issues. On B15 it's rejecting it with a 'not implemented error' from 7-zip. Is there a different tool to use to manipulate these archive files?
Thanks!
Edit: B15, not B19

Yes, flashing the full firmware image from the zte site will downgrade it to 7.0.

Zte pulled the image for B29 when they posted B15. Looks like in the last week or so they pulled the B15 image too.

[RECOVERY][MagiskROOT][TWRP]Sprint Galaxy Tab A 10.1 SM-T587P(gtaxlqltespr)QI1 Nougat

This is for the Sprint SM-T587P "gtaxlqltespr" Galaxy Tab A 10.1 variant only.
As far as I can tell, the Nougat update came out for the Sprint Variant sometime around the 20th of September 2017. Update to the T587PVPU1BQI1 Nougat update if you have not already.
1. Read all instructions, there are no known issues. Be on 7.0.0 official. (QI1)
2 Enable Developer Options. Settings, About Device, Software info, tap on build number until it is enabled.
3. Enable OEM unlock and USB Debugging in the Developer Options menu.
There are a couple options here. You can do any combination of the following:
install TWRP
root via superuser (requires installing TWRP)
disable dm-verity (requires installing TWRP)
root by flashing magisk patched bootimage (does not require TWRP)
disable force-encryption (requires installing twrp)(required if you want TWRP to see /data/ files)(not required for flashing zips such as superuser through TWRP)
To install TWRP:
1. Boot into download mode
2. Launch ODIN, Uncheck "Auto Reboot" in the options tab. Flash included TWRP file in the AP section of ODIN.
To Disable Force-Encryption (if want to see /data/ in twrp)
1. Install TWRP recovery
2 Boot into TWRP recovery
3. Format Data
4. Reboot into TWRP from TWRP reboot menu, without rebooting into system.
5. Flash the included superuser.zip to disable force-encryption and dm-verity
To Root via superuser or disable dm-verity
1. Install TWRP recovery.
2. Boot into TWRP recovery
3. flash superuser.zip (this needs to be done with ADB if you have not disabled force-encryption and are unable to see /data/)
Superuser root provided as-is. Magisk is the recommended root. If you prefer the outdated, beta, un-updatable phh superuser binary which breaks safetynet that's all you. However it is the only way i have found to disable dm-verity.
Magisk v16 root:
Device is stock
If you have not installed twrp, disabled dm-verity, or disabled force encryption:
1. Boot into Download Mode
2. Use the AP section of ODIN to install "fe-dm-patched_boot.img.tar"
Disabled dm-verity, but NOT force-encryption
If you did not format DATA in TWRP and have installed superuser.zip using ADB:
1. Boot into Download Mode
2. Use the AP section of ODIN to install "fe-patched_boot.img.tar"
Disabled Both
If you disabled dm-verity AND disabled force-encryption:
1. Boot into Download Mode
2. Use the AP section of ODIN to install "Magiskv16_patched_boot.img.tar"
WIFI IS NOW WORKING AFTER ROOT/BOOT PATCH
Recovery: twrp-3.1.1-0-gtaxlqltespr.tar
phh's Superuser.zip
fe-dm-patched_boot.img.tar

This is a proper root via the magisk patched boot. There is no reason to flash the recovery at all.

Should work or does? You're right, there are many tab a variants, and unlike the ones you develop for, this variant is a snapdragon 625. While you say su 2.82 should work, you would also think 2.72 would work. Bootloop. I included a working su to flash standalone that DOES work in my op for people who do not care about systemless magisk, which is the recommended root at any rate.

Any custom kernels made for this model?
Or anyone found source code for this model?

I really wish my xda-labs would alert me when the op edits the thread. I also found that source code, I have been trying to compile the kernel as well. very new on this end of development. I give it a whirl

Haha, I didn't realize you had to subscribe to your own threads, I didn't know people were even replying in here for weeks. Thank you for attempting to compile, i know there are some tutorials on xda, i'm pretty sure an flashing an SELinux permissive kernel will fix the wifi issue with the magisk root. I do not know that I'll ever have the time or motivation to compile it myself, but I can help to test.
Thanks arlyn! Will definitely be trying this out.
Says root is not properly installled.... any ideas? I followed directions to a T... even flashed back to stock nougat and tried a 2nd time...

No ! ..
Hi
Do I just need to use odin to flash the Firmware you mentioned then use ODIN again to flash the patched ap
I can just add that with this specific fw version and patched ap everything worked on LTE version but I might add my little deviations ...
1st original firmware flash (BL,AP,CP,CSC-non-home one) instantly followed by wipe data in recovery mode.
2nd After the initial setup + wifi connection I installed and updated magisk.
3rd "adb restart bootloader" (here i am not sure if it mattered but anyway) and flush again with the provided Patched AP File (BL,the_patched_AP,CSC - the home one this time ... using CP failed with modem err with me so I just skipped it here)
4th get trough the init setup again with wifi on and open magisk which will install more stuff.
The prerequisites still apply oem unlocked bootloader before you start and keep your battery at least 60-70% since the process drained mine a lot.
You know you are on the right track when you have warning with tablet bootloader is unlocked (at startup yellow) and tablet not running Samsung's official software (red after the first one)
Ive just bought this SM-T725 model android 11. There is no sign of OEM Unlock Bootloader under development. Does anyone know how I can unlock this.

Thanks for reply mate, I got it figured. I also manage to get root and twrp recovery but not both at the same time. After flashing and using twrp recovery I then lose root after reboot and have to flash a patched magisk bundle over odin again. Bit inconvenient but I only intend using twrp now and then for backup/recovery.
Can you recommend a stable rom for this device - far too much google bloat on it for my liking. I tried latest lineage but found it unstable.

Just install LineageOS. Clean, no Bloat, everything smooth and you can have TWRP and Root/Magisk at the same time.
Depending on how much Google you want to have on your device, you might rather choose LOS+MG ( https://lineage.microg.org/) I can highly recommend it. You get rid of Google which debloats it even more and is a plus for your privacy but almost everything works (at leat for me. But migh depend on your needs)
If you like Google, just use normal LineageOS (https://lineageos.org) + GAPPS
Thanks for reply. Will try the LOS ROM later. Wish Google crap would disappear totally. I hate it enormously.
By the way which folder am I looking for on that LOS ROM download page

Recently switched to using MicroG Lineage. Timely enough, MicroG passes the SafetyNet now as per the instructions mentioned below and indicated in the attached screenshot. For the fingerprint, I had selected the T720 from the list.

Along with Aurora store installed as a service, I think you don't need Google anymore.

Working on a SM-T725 of course, actually rooted, lineage and TWRP installed, but my Magisk can't install modules, it seems it doens't have root privileges.
Thanks in advance for your answer
