@RemixOS_Jason These OTAs seem to take 1-2 days to show up for me; are they rolled out by location?

EDIT:
OTA update didn't work, I didn't wait and installed it once again on my Lenovo miix 700, but a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT:
1) audio still not working (Realtek high definition audio),
2) no USB mount, it gives an error about a corrupted usb card.
3) YouTube doesn't work
4) kernel is not updated to 4.4.1.7
audio worked on Android x86 RC2
Any idea @RemixOS_Jason ?

Hi @RemixOS_Jason In my laptop, kernel verson is still 4.4.14 even after the update,Is it 4.4.17??? My update went fine and i'm on 3.0.201 now.

I thought your audio would be working with remix os since it's working on latest Android x86; that's very strange

unfortunately not... maybe because kernel isn't updated to the new version mentioned in the changelog

A clean install using Titanium Backup to restore apps. Very fast, smooth.
A few glitches:
1 phantom usb drive
2 no way to change the notifications
3 bluetooth doesn't work

still have the "sleep mode wake up hang" bug

1) audio still not working (Realtek high definition audio) - We are still working on more support for audio cards. Please be patient as this is still a continual work in progress.
2) no USB mount, it gives an error about a corrupted usb card - Our testers have shown that most external USB drives are supported. Can you send us your info through our user feedback form so we're aware of your specific device's issues? https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1cZNesOmnmO2esilFpvMzFZ874rvwsiKgWIX2fo9QsDk/viewform
3) YouTube doesn't work - I've been testing YouTube all day on my Remix OS for PC device. The app works fine. Watching on YouTube through Chrome has some issues, but on the whole, still works. Just not as well as the app. So, are you referring to the app or in browser experience?
4) kernel is not updated to 4.4.1.7 - I just checked with our PM and he stated that they're still testing this. Though we integrated rc2, this is one thing that was held back for testing to make sure it didn't affect overall system stability. However, stating it on the release notes was a mistake made on my part. There was miscommunication between myself and the PM and I listed this when it was still in our internal testing phase. I do apologize for this mistake and the confusion it may have caused!

Thank you for the detailed reply:
1) no audio - This is a popular sound card, and there are other threads on XDA and Google groups talking about this, so I hope it's high in your priority list. If you need me for any beta testing for this audio card, I'm in!
The fact that Android x86 RC2 has audio working gives hope it's not that difficult to implement it, right?
2) I was actually talking about a microSDXC card with exFAT format, a Kensington 64GB card, which doesn't mount. Is it a known bug?
3) Youtube doesn't work both using the standalone app and through browser. I don't know why.
4) This explains why it still shows the older kernel. Maybe this is the reason for missing audio???
Keep up the good work!!

I wanted to give it a try.but the download was stucked due to the low bandwith offered by server, unfortunately.
If you are brave enough to take a early look,or can't wait for the global release. here are the download links.

There're few bugs that stop Android-x86 6.0 from daily use. For example,Google play services always crash on Intel Gen8+ GPUs,which is not fixed yet.
But the devs at Jide are actively contributing to Android-x86 6.0 and you'll be able to see the results in near future. For instance, the issue of Time being reset in Windows is fixed
in the latest commit, Check the marshmallow-x86 branch at https://github.com/android-x86-mirror
Hmm...seems like a solid release. I will wait for the official announcement and update though. If it fixes my nvidia/wifi/sound issues I might actually start using this

I think there is no remix os 3.0 for PC(x86) :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:
I downloaded and installed it. My impression :
1 Locked DOWN, no more root command line
2 No Play Store option
3 Does include keymapping
4 Stock file manager can no longer read the partition on which Remix OS is installed
5 Maybe a little more quick because of changes to disk partition access
This may be because it is currently for Chinese users, hopefully there will be more flexibility with the release
EDIT 2016/07/01: After solving problems of getting into root command line, was able to deactivate jide app policy and then went on to install nova launcher, etc. Then using help from @HypoTurtle I was able to do systemless root. Everything now operating well. I will continue testing this 2.0.401 over the next few days for stability.
Summary:
1 No longer locked down
2 Play Store is activated
3 keymapping confirmed
4 Solid Explorer can read all disk partitions by using Stickmount
5 So far seems quicker than 2.0.205

I updated my Remix OS hdd installation today and recognized that all external (read: non Remix OS) partitions got automounted. I now lots of people asked for easy access to their windows partitions from within Remix OS, but I would prefer to keep things seperated.
Is it possible to disable the "access to other files and folders" in general or at least to stop automounting those partitions?
Thanks in advance
Martin
auto-mount is even tried for non-ntfs partitions
I am running Remix OS 3.0.102 in a dual boot system together with Ubuntu. While signing on the auto-mount function says already that there are two "corrupted" ext4 partitions beside one NTFS drive. After signing on the NTFS drive has been mounted automatically, while the Remix-OS partition "Android-x86" and the Ubuntu partition are called "corrupted" - probably because they are formatted with ext4.
I think, showing partitions which can't be opened in Remix OS doesn't make sense, especially if they are shown together with a dangerous offer "Touch to fix". There should be a way telling Remix OS which partitions are interesting and which should be mounted automatically.

You are writing of "option to turn off the mount partition feature". What I would prefer is an option to select the partitions which you want to mount (and which not). Another option should be: manual mount / automatic mount of the partitions which you want to mount.

That's what we have at the moment; Yes they are auto-mounted but they can be ejected via that Storage & USB screen. Maybe add a lock button on that screen so it isn't remounted on reboot.
If the corrupted message is due to the system trying to treat all partitions as fat/ntfs/exfat then that should be fixed [I'd run e2fsck on those partitions just to make sure they aren't actually corrupt].
And to answer the OP [this question has been asked and answered before]; you disable the service MediaScannerService from the Media Storage system app.

good day....i have just updated to v3.0.201, and i have few requests concerning changelogs posted on your site: http://support.jide.com/hc/en-us/categories/202520967-Remix-OS-for-PC
1)...is it possible that if there are any changes/modificatios are made to the Gaming Tool Kit can be included in the changelos together with the system changes that are well detailed as you do?
2)...i assume this is a stable release as i see it on your site, and thank you for using the latest Android-x86 RC2, the system has significantly improved, more stable, fluid , but the ads on the start menu still cripples system RAM(this is for funding purposes, the advertisements, so no need/wont complain any further)
3)....for futur releases, can u please or is there a way that Proxy SET-UP can be done for Ethernet connections?...include this somehow if within your future plans!
4)I tried the GameKITtool, IMO its still same as in the previous v3.0.104, nothing "seems' to have being changed, also nothing bas broken, still works marvellously, but lacks the previously made requests for 100% game controll compatibility!
5)overall system perfomance and stability is greatest, and thank you for including previously requested features into the sytem/update!
6..........for linux users that installed RemixOS, and thus obviously never installed using the Jide Installer, either wont be able to get OTA?
based on this? "OTA support disabled if software was NOT installed by official Jide installer"

Thanks again for your feedback so far and please keep them coming!
I Suggest to remove Nouveau\AMD kernel drivers atleast until corresponding DRI modules will be added to /lib64/dri/
Now situation look like this :
if user have dual gpu setup, there is a chance (atleast) that nvidia\amd gpu will be detected as /dev/dri/card0
android then trying to boot only trying to access /dev/dri/card0
i done some experiments - like renamed card0 to card2, android not booted, then i renamed my intel gpu card1 to card0 and android booted.
Do something about it please
@masaykh can you report this here as an issue or maybe even make a patch?
submited issue

Thank you for suggestion. It worked
There is still random issues with touch not responding right on some devices, incl Surface Pro 3. If you add an option in settings to recycle touch input, it would make a nice workaround for those device owners, allowing them to use RemixOS without rebooting it every 20 minutes. Just a suggestion
any1 could help me?, in this and previous all 64 versions I'm getting this error at boot "Intel powerclamp does not run on family 6 model 23
Intel_rapl: driver does not support CPU family 6 model 23" throughout but system works and hangs in couple of hours or rapidly some times. plz help to resolve this
When I connect to my tv, it is showing on both screen, TV and my laptop. I want only 1 screen, TV. How can I fix this?
@harkaman currently that's no longer possible without fiddling with grub entries. Might not be possible at all

I don't have pan drive.
I have sd card reader ,can I install remix os wth help of card reader.
Please reply.

@neeraj.lambaa storage media form doesn't matter.
If it's a card reader embedded in your device then you can try, but since many devices don't enable sd card reader device until the system fully boots, booting a system from it can be impossible.
Booting from a USB card reader should work almost always.
I can manually update from 203 to 205 by performing these steps? :
1) Download latest version 3.0.205
2) With Winrar extract the kernel files, ramdisk.img, system.sfs and initrd.img
3) Copy them to replace version 3.0.203
Thanks for the reply.
@salvoplatania that should work

[UPDATE] Remix OS for PC update 3.0.207

This update coincides with the release of our shiny new GitHub Feedback System & Troubleshooting Center!
Thanks @Vioner for building the system and @moman2000 for testing it out over the past couple of weeks!
If you experience an issue or bug, you can reproduce the bug in "Verbose mode" and Remix OS for PC will send us a system log for our developers to troubleshoot much more efficiently and effectively. Verbose mode will be an option during your reboot.
_______________________________________________________________
Remix OS version: 3.0.207
Release date: November 25, 2016
Remix OS Build Number - 64-bit: B2016112101
Remix OS Build Number - 32-bit: B2016112201
Release notes:
1. Added Verbose mode to save log files for easier debugging.
Guidelines: https://github.com/JideTechnology/Remix-OS-For-PC/wiki
2. Updated Linux kernel to 4.4.30
CORRECTION: We pulled this part of the update when we realized that there were still issues. Thus, this kernel update will come with the next OTA update. Apologies if this caused any inconvenience!
3. Added "Never sleep option" to be seen in languages other than English
4. Fixed a bug there was an issue remembering the last selected system in your boot menu
_______________________________________________________________
If you experience any bugs or issues, report it through our Verbose mode!
I have updated to the latest version but still it shows kernel version 4.4.24
nice
Does this update fixes the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues we have been experiencing? Thanks for your hard work.
Stuck at 20%
After rebooting to apply the update, it is stuck at 20% and will not move. This is on a Latitude 7350.
I had mounted it read-write in the past http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67971055&postcount=22 . Removing the book option didn't help. Any ideas? Is there a boot option to ignore the update so I can get back to a functioning device on the old version?
Update worked flawlessly.

Verbose mode looks great. That option is not available when the update itself is locking up.
Is there a list (somewhere) of kerel command line params?
After a LOT of experimentation, I was finally able to get RemixOS (for PC) to boot on my Intel i5 tablet (Sony Vaio Duuo). That being said, I could only get it to boot if I remove most of the paramaters from the Android kernel command line (everything except hardware=permissive).
Is here a list published somewhere of valid Android kernel command line parameters for RemimOS (as well as info about what they do, and what are the valid param valis)???
Also, please note... Even when I did get build 207 to boot, I found an issue with the WIFI. It seems to work OK if you are connecting to a WIFI router that is broadcasting it's SSID, but if you try to connet to a router that does NOT broardcast it's SSID (for security reasons), it will not connect th the router even aftr you manually add the SSID to the router's list.. What's more, the on screen keyboard does not seem to work for configuring the WIFI during the bootup process.
NOTE: All of this works fine on Android-x86 6.0.
After download, I got old version in new version's folder. Now is ok. downloaded via torrrent. Thanks.
problem with data.img

This build doesn't seem to work if I have a "data.img" (data partition file) in the RemixOS directory. If I delete the "data.img" file, it will boot. But then, after I create another empty data.img file, it hangs during boot.
Just downloaded from torrent. and it is ok now. I got right version. Thanks alot.
The other hdd cant access anymore after update.
Why is kodi not getting fukk screen? How to fix that? Please help!
Thanks

Found the error message in ota.log in the root of the RemixOS partition. It was a disk space issue. Resizing now to see if that will fix the issue.

Amazing! Thanks to all the devs working on this <3
Wooohoo finally here, running since Jan without issues, definetly faster than Oreo, looking forward to reflash now that it is official
Super excited about this. Long time coming!
It's a Great day for the Switch modding scene.
Thank you Switchroot team you are the best.
You guys have made my Switch a ton more useful, thanks for all the work you guys put in! ★\(^▽^ )♪
Android 10 and Deep Sleep are great to have! Haven't tested the build yet since I won't be free until tomorrow but I'm looking forward to it!
Edit: Forgot to edit it, just chiming in to say that I've been loving it! Thank you so much devs!
Hello! I'm trying to install it but I'm stuck on google voice assistant.
If I tap on "No thanks" it brings me a page back everytime.
Absolutely fantastic! Thanx a lot for the release
Very exciting day, big thanks to everyone who worked so hard on this! I loved playing with the original Android release, but decided to wait for a version with the kinks worked out, looking forward to diving back in!
I can't get my switch to boot into twrp. I used balina to put previous version in but would rather use twrp for familiarities. Is there a guide to installing twrp?
Hi there. I'm glad to see it is official now. Can I do a dirty flash via twrp? I have a SD card setup from an unofficial selfmade build from October. Thank you.

I did. I unzipped hikati and rom. Just moved everything else. Sd card is class 1 64 gb formatted into fat 32 followed instructions within hikati. First time I tried it said flash successful but wouldn't boot into twrp. Now it just says flashable files not found. Imma start over from scratch see if I can get it. Must be something I missed. I'll see.

The Installation Guide's 20th step is "If setup gets stuck on voice detection go back to the wifi config page in the setup and select "Skip for now"".
This should solve your issue!
Wow there it is finally!
Well done!

I got it. I don't know what happened but it worked the second time I did it. Sorry for wasting people's time lol I like the improvements alot. So glad lockscreen and battery charging indicator is working properly now.
I'm simply amazed. Thank u so much for all the months of hard work @ANyOne involved!
I've got two questions:
1. If I go for the non-Android TV image, can I control the Switch in the dock with the Joy-Cons wirelessly?
2. If going for the Android TV image, would it support the Google Cast protocoll receiver-sided (meaning I could cast to it)?
Edit: Please let me add a third question:
3. Can Android access the FAT32 partition I'm using in Horizon?
Aka can I continue my SNES savegames in Android's RetroArch by pointing it's directory settings to the same folder on the FAT32 partition I'm using in Horizon's RetroArch for the savegames?
Followed the guide and been testing for a bit, this version is incredibly smooth compared to the previous one, i barely get any lag with a 64GB class 10 card
