[SOLVED] Flashing a KDZ fails on H860 using LGUP and LGFlashTool - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I am not able to flash a "Middle East" KDZ for H860 over my phone which is H860 but with Taiwan Stock ROM. The phone is new; no rooting, no oem unlock, nothing. The current ROM version is 10e and I want to flash the AME KDZ which is basically 10g.
Using the patched version of LGFlashTool v2.0.1.6, I get an error "(S) Failed to Load". Using LGUP v1.14, the phone is recognized as H860, it restarts into download mode and gets to 9% (which is starting to send the KDZ to phone) and then it give an error msg:
Error: Error Code = 0x81000304
CBasicFlash::_func_LoadGPTF - ErrorCode:8224
I am working on a Windows 10 PC with all the drivers installed and I can access the phone through ADB, Fastboot, LG Bridge, with no issues. The only issue is that I am not able to flash the KDZ although it is for the same model H860.
I have tried a different PC and a re-downloaded the KDZ directly from LG's website. Same issues.
PS: In LGUP, I tried: Refurbish and Upgrade options.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
UPDATE: I tried flashing a Singapore KDZ for H860 as well and it gave the same errors.

This forum is not as useful as it used to be once upon a time. Disappointed.

Try with LG support tool from LG

Please update me with this case. I have twn vrsion also bought from one of the online shop in dubai and i want to flash also the uae kdz. thanks

Thanks for the suggestion. The LG support tool does not work with my version of LG G5 (I am not sure if it works with any G5 at all), it says that I need to use LG Bridge instead because LG Support Tools does not support my phone.
However, I tried the "Recovery" option in LG bridge, but it checks the IMEI and decides that my phone needs the latest Taiwan rom instead of what I want (which is UAE).

I already got the the newest version of LG UP. The phone is recognized, but it does not proceed with the upgrade properly.

This is how it was solved:
I believe that the issue was with the LG UP Store version. This is what I did:
1. Installed LG UP LAB v1.1.
2. Installed the H850DLL msi file.
3. Created a folder named C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\H860
4. Copied the H850.DLL file from C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\H850 to the new folder
5. Renamed the file LGUP_H850.DLL to LGUP_H860.DLL
6. Everything went on smoothly !!
The only error I get now is at startup "current version is not available for user. can't find matched cust for nt-code mcc/mnc subset" which I have not dug into but it does not bother me.
By the way @engineer000, most of the online stores in UAE suck!!

Where did you bought yours? I bought from Yallashop.
Where are you seeing that error? As your phone startup? How about using the proper DLL on the guide and flash it again?
it seems to be related to different customizations. i don't know if flashing tW version will stop it. but this stopped me from flashing a AE fw

I got mine from souq.com.
The error shows only at phone startup. Its not causing any other visible problem.
I couldn't get the H860 DLL msi anywhere on the web.

You can eliminate the error by reflash the phone with LG bridge (can download officially from LG). In "Software update" tab, there's "Update error recovery" which will automatically download the official firmware for your G5 and of course, the annoying startup error message will go away.

I am afraid that it might download the software based on the IMEI and then my phone will be back to Taiwan software instead of the AME currently installed.

[Q] New firmware released?

I heard that version V10C is released, but I couldn't find any update using LG PC Suite IV with my phone connected.
Anyone upgraded already and how?
No update from LG PC Suite IV for me too.
Here they speak about a V10C they had installed too
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?p=50128685
but no other information or download link is available. May be it is a release for some region only.
I guess this is the donwload link:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500/ANEUBK/V10c_00/V10C_00.kdz
You update it using KDZ_FW_UPD: http://www.mediafire.com/?6do22vdco203d0y
Using the option 3GQCT DIAG.
I did that sucessfully for a Vodafone branded P500 flashing the unbranded V10A:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500/APRTBK/V10a_00/V10A_00.kdz
I will try flashing mine with V10C tomorrow, because I don't have time today...
If you are afraid of flashing the V10C,try flashing the V10A and "ask" for updates...mine told me about V10B "Vodafone"...but since I have V10B vodafone,I guess it won't tell me about V10C,because it is the unbranded version...
Use at your own risk..
10A-B-C are same kernel V. but differ region release ?
another one flash B to C and has no differ or update
need changelog =_=
Tried to flash V10C to my phone and gave me error,as the phone only went to emergy mode,I "changed it" for a new one, because I was in the 14 day exchange warranty.
Flashed the new one to V10a,and it only show V10B (vodafone) as update...nothing about v10c.

Hey all
I successfully updated my p500 to v10c.
I used kdz_fw_up in english, windows enabler and the kdz provided in this thread.
I started kdz, "read phone information", 3GQCT DIAG, selected the kdz and strated the update.
Halfway through it, it popped an runtime error, i ignored it and let it continue. It finnished the update and only after the update was finnished I pressed the "OK" button in the error dialog causing the application to close. I was using WinXP SP3.
Phone went to emergency mode, removed battery to turn off, placed the battery again, switched on and...... V10c!

I have following versions:
V10d (ARUSSV) от 18.10.2010 - Russia.
V10d (ACISSV) от 25.10.2010 - CIS.
In the first one there is English, but no Deutsch.
May be you could select it using MoreLocale.
Do you need it? Get here http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=195545

This is V10d (ARUSSV) от 18.10.2010 - Russia.

it has English, Russian, and using MoreLocale2 you can choose main European languages, Chinese too.
was getting real annoyed with the random LGMITS force stop errors and forced me to consider flashing. no updates found if i use the conventional pc suite method.
I successfully flashed mine from unbranded v10b (i bought my unit locally here in the philippines) to v10c using kdz updater. never encountered any error at all.
when phone rebooted, all my apps were still there as well as my customizations. the only thing different is my phone got unrooted (missing Super User Icon) which I remedied via running z4root again.
I checked settings > about phone and verified version was indeed v10c now.
i connected my phone to lg pc suite 4 and it said there was an update available??? curiously, i let it try to update but as soon as the LG Mobile Support Tool was invoked by PC Suite, it said I already have the latest version (v10c) and stopped at that. Weird.
Anyway, haven't seen the LGMITS force close errors yet, so hopefully this f/w works for me.
UPDATE: started getting the LGMITS errors again. argh!
In these days my O1 should comes back from service (IMHO the GSM reception was very bad). On the LG service site they write "Repaired" and "Operation executed: software update". So, I think we could clarify something about the various V10x versions as soon a read the new version installed on my O1...though I have the suspect to still see "V10A" (like before send the phone to the service)...IMHO it is not possible that the problem was a SW problem, otherwise I should not be the only one with a very bad network reception...
We will see.

hi, can you tell me where you found the v10g kdz? i only managed to find the wind v10e (and doesn't solve the direct sunlight issue)
thank you (anche in pm se vuoi)
v10g KDZ is only for some carriers
note: the base is kind of the same for lets say v10d OPEN EUR kdz and v10g carrier kdz, so thinking that installing v10g carrier branded version does not mean you are more updated then v10d OPEN EUR
Thank you!
I went to sell my G5 today, and the shop refused to buy it because of that pop-up on boot.
Just curious though, now I have erased the folder, what would happen if I -
a) Unroot
b) Relock the bootloader
I am on a global stock rom V-20v I believe.
I want my Virgin Moble UK G5 to think it's H3G in order to get WiFi calling to work. So instead of deleting all the files in '/cust' I updated op_list.cfg & cust_path_mapping.cfg by adding the missing MCC/MNC code from the error message and pointing them to the same place as the H3G entries, in my case
'23430,FF=/OP/H3G_COM'.
The phone now boots up without the 2 error messages (OP name by Buyer Code & Current version is not available) but I get the 'Buyer Code' message a few minutes after booting.
I'm not sure if changing the files, or deleting them is best. But with the files updated, looking at the Global Settings via ADB shows that wfc_ims_enabled=1

F700l model to F700k

Hello everyone, I'm residing in Korea by the moment... my carrier is olleh (KT)... I used to have an LG G pro 2 from the carrier so had no problem at all. recently I switched to a new G5. the problem now it's the model is F700L (from other carrier) and there are some benefits I get with my carrier (KT) that I can't when the phone doesn't match the same carrier ...
I've been reading and researching about changing the rom to the one from the other carrier, and LGUP throws error when saying: Error F700L > F700K ... I know there won't be any problem doing this because the hardware is the same. And as far as I know there's no possible way to root the phone and unlock the bootloader or install a custom one for later on install the other rom from there... :silly::crying::crying: .... so....
after so many days trying got disappointed and annoyed... gotta ask... is there any other way to flash without confirmation? (with Odin or other?... FlashTools doesn't get to communicate with the device in download mode... and LG Flash.. requires a DLL and can't find it anywhere...) ... or getting inside the phone using ssh (i'm linux user) or other with the help of the adb ... and get to edit the model just to change the freaking L by a K??
The other possible way could be editing the actual KDZ to match the info... I've tried WinHex but LGUP says: Invalid KDZ after the edition.... some other way?
will appreciate any idea... thanks!

LG V30+ H930DS regional restrictions

Fellow V30+ users and anyone else that has experience with recent LG devices, I have a H930DS from India that I use in HK now. It's the exact same model that's sold here in HK (I got it from India because of the lower price, which a first!).
Now, my problem is with VoLTE here. My carrier, CSL, supports this device and they even confirmed the same on call. It's duly listed on their website too. But, I do not get the toggle to activate it on my unit.
My software version says v10d-IND-XX, which clearly means it's meant for India. That could be the reason HK specific carrier information is missing on my device? This is my first LG device after almost 5 years, so I have no clue how LG does things firmware-wise. Samsung CSC stuff makes it possible to change regions, I know nothing about how LG devices work in that regard.
Does anyone have any information how I could go about fixing this situation? Can I change my region to HK? It's the exact same device, exact same software otherwise.
Thanks in advance!
I have exact problem in reverse, I have an h930ds from HK, using it in India. My carrier Airtel supports Volte but I can't see the volte toggle in my setting.
Any suggestions?

I'm planning to call up LG service on Monday and ask them directly. Normally, it's supposed to check the SIM and region on every boot and get carrier specific information accordingly (if that particular model is supported by the particular carrier of course). That's what Sony devices do.
So I reached out to LG support and after 3 days of back and forth, they came back with nothing. They have no idea if the region can be changed. They asked me to contact LG India, I'm not going to bother with that because I'm more than certain they would be of no help either.
Great news!!
Okay.. I bring good news! You can definitely flash any KDZ as long as the model number is exactly the same. I flashed the HK Reginal kdz on my H930DS from India and I now have working VoLTE and VoWiFi.
In short, get the CORRECT kdz of the desired region for your model number, use LGUP, Upgrade option, and let it do its thing. Simple. This keeps the device official and under warranty.
PS - Please backup all data before doing this. Even though it is just an upgrade, play it safe. Just in case!

Great news, where can I download the software and kdz? Thanks
Here's the link: LG H930DS Firmware Downloads
Please double check your region code (link to code list is at the bottom of that page).
To find the LGUP, necessary DLL file and instructions, check here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75293530&postcount=1
IGNORE the driver linked in that post, see below for driver installation.
PS - BEFORE doing any of the above, make sure you install LGMobile Support Tool on your desktop. Get it from LG's website.
- choose language and region in the program
- select LGH930DS and let it install the correct drivers (do NOT have the device connected while doing this).
- Right after driver installation, it'll pop up two archive windows, install both the files from those windows (one window is right under another, don't be too quick to close out the windows!).
- Restart Windows, then open up the program again and connect your device to USB and let it recognise the device. You need to select MTP (file transfer) mode on your device from USB options.
Now close everything and follow this:
- Connect your device (make sure battery is above 60%)
- Launch LGUP
- Let LGUP recognise your device.
- Select UPGRADE
- Click on the blank space next to the BIN File box and select your KDZ
- Click Start
- Let it finish (You can see progress on LGUP and your device)
- Device will restart
- Profit!

Hello,
I wanted to ask about the warranty of the device. For instance, I get a V30+ imported from HongKong to my country INDIA & if unfortunately the device needs some kind of service or repair, will LG India accept the device under warranty or will I need to get the service done from LG HK?

Hi,
Does your device come with B&O earphones? & can you please brief me about the warranty of the device since it is from HK.
I am kinda confused, I am planning to buy V30+ and I have two options H930DS and V300S, not sure which one should I buy, I don't see enough development for any of these, V300S is Korean version which will definitely have Korean bloat, on the other hand the H930DS is dual sim and I have a very bad bootloop experience with LG G4 dual sim variant, here in UAE the price of V30+ is almost equal to Pixel 2 XL 64Gb variant.
