Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Camera Sensor ... - Note 7 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello all ...
I just got my Note 7 from Dubai (SM-N930FD) ...
And this time I finally got the Sony IMX260 ﹰSensor in the ﹰMain shooter unlike the last time when ﹰI bought ﹰS7 ﹰEdge (SM-G935FD) which had ISOCELL Sensor ...
I started the thread on S7 Edge forum about the same Camera Sensor discussion on which people posted their Camera Sensor Information and shared the photo quality of both Sensors in different lightening conditions ...
So, let's start the same discussion about the Galaxy Note 7 Camera Sensor Info and please share your experience with either ...
Here we go ...

Oh brother.... Unless you have both phones at the same time and take the same photos (and even then) the differences are going to be too minor to really worry about.
Both are pretty much equivalent.
What a few of us would like to know is how the front camera is. Hopefully they fixed the focusing issue that plagued a bunch of s7/s7 Edge units.
Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk

Sony rear shooter and Sammy front for me. For my S7e, it was the exact opposite.
Phone was made on 7/28, China. Hardware rev 0.7

My N930FD Singapore version also has Sony sensor on the rear camera

seems this time ALL note7 will have imx260!
why: there are only imx260 drivers in the note7 rom!!!
on s7e roms there were both sony and samsung drivers existing!
that's also the reason why s7e users using a note7 ported rom and have isocell cam, a lot cam functions are not working...

UZ Camera disappointed me

Hey guys
Is there any method/guide for better performance/quality in in uz?
I am wondering about this under average quality photos in this phone even with a powerful ximor rs sensor at indoor conditions!
Uz takes very bad noisy photos in low light conditions that i have never seen in each other 8 mp phones.
I have tried all options for gaining better results but unfortunately this camera disappointed me at all.
Sent from my C6802 using Tapatalk 2
That's true. ZU camera is not the best one.
But try Cemre Zoom FX. It takes much better photos.
I'm happy with that.
Sent from my C6802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The lack of an LED should have tipped you off straight away, and the fact that the ZU uses the same camera as the Z (correct me if i'm wrong), but without an LED. You can of course install a different camera app from the Play Store, or wait until devs have ported the Z1 camera app to the ZU (still no guarantee that it will produce better photos though).

It's not really clear whether zu has the same camera module as the z, actually. Zu is only 8mp, while z has 13mp, so no guarantee the hardware is the same. And zu is far thinner than z to contain the same module, but this is just a wild guess.

Poor Camera

I know the hardware of the camera in the G2 is supposed to be great, and people are raving over it, but coming from the Note 2, and even looking at my wife's GS3, I'm not a fan. Does anyone else experience the extremely poor auto focusing, and the ghosting when moving the camera to get your shot? I'm not well versed in the world of photography, and I like how dummy proof the Note 2 made things. If your subject moves (and seeing as mine is a 13 month old, she's always moving), the pics come out very poorly. With the quick auto focusing on the Note 2, great pics weren't a problem.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? Something I should try differently? I want to keep this device, but this problem will have me returning and waiting for the Note 3 or even heading to the dark side (and I REALLY don't want to), the iPhone 5S.
I have definitely noticed that this phone's camera doesn't like it when you're moving the phone or taking a picture of something that's moving. It's always disturbingly blurry when I move the camera around. However, stills look pretty great. The camera wasn't a huge selling point of the phone for me so I'm not too worried about it but I hope when we get custom ROMs developers will include better camera apps.

You're right - maybe there will be better camera apps when the custom ROMs hit. I'm willing to donate for that, no prob. I love everything about this device with the exception of that. I tried to install the GS3/Note 2 camera apk, but it wouldn't work sadly.
Change the iso. The HDR is incredible on the G2.

Coming from a Note 2 and S4, I've found the camera on the G2 to be much better in both normal and HDR modes.
I had some poor auto focus shots at first until I realized all the smudges on the camera lens from learning to locate the rear buttons appropriately.

This is truly a great pic. And I agree it is a great cam, which is why I'm bummed I'm getting poor pics. I think my biggest problem is how slow it is to focus. The picture is gone by the time it does.
The camera on the G2 is amazing. I am very impressed.

Some Times auto focus does take longer than usual but I must say coming from a note 2 and lumia 928 this camera trumps them both easily. Try sports mode for the kids.it worked very well in my niece today! You won't get the low light sensitivity though.

[Q] App like Nokia Refocus?

Today a rep from Nokia was displaying the 1020 at work today, this gave me the chance to play with the Nokia Refocus app and that's quite interesting. Are there any Android apps capable of doing the same?
//M
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I haven't seen Nokia Refocus, but you can check out "Afterfocus Pro." I use it quite a lot. And I pair it up with "Perfectly Clear" for better results. Check them out, they're on the Play Store.
Hit thanks if I helped.

I assume the refocus works on the nokia as the camera is 42 megapixel or whatever it is, android can't compete with that as of now.

Nope, it just lets you view images shot with the actual Lytro camera as opposed to the app actually letting you take similar photographs with your phone.
Just posting this in here if people don't know what the app does.

I don't get why sony wouldn't have come up with a similar app? The bokeh app from sony is ok, but doesn't always work the best.
Really interested on this, but for now I think is Nokia exclusive, if something worth appears, some tech news website will publish
This feature has started to emerge in stock camera apps with the HTC One. It is also present in the Galaxy S5 (selective focus) & the LG G2 Pro.
I'm using a Note 2, dont have any recent future plans to upgrade my phone and i dont feel the necessity to do it. I hope there will emerge some third party camera apps that will do this trick for older phones.

But my opinion is that as the other manufacturers like lg, samsung, htc their handset does not have that much of problem and if problem is there they solve it with ota update.
So why cant sony........

I dont want to be rude, but this thread is pointless. What is RAM management?
First you list a potential camera problem as problem number 3. Then you instead change the numbering into "2". And doesn't faulty manufacturing which you list as problem 3 cover the other potential problems? And what do you mean by problem anyway? Speaker problem? Like is it bad sound quality... or is it low ringing sound.... or is it low volume on music....
What is the purpose of this thread? It's a phone, and you have warranty.

Exactly. Every manufacturer has some faulty phones. You either get a perfectly working one, which is HIGHLY likely, or you get one with some minor issue. Its the way of the world. I doubt any manufacturer has more faulty phones than the other.

Ram mangment is to keep the programme alive so as you can multitask easily. Every body buys the smart phone to use the multiple features of it but in xperia sp case it is not so if u want to search the web listen to music simultaneously u cannot do it one of task gets killed and it does not remains to music and browsing it also goes to gaming also the games get killed due to low ram.
This type of thing is comes under ram managment and if u spend your hard earned money about 24k in a smart phone u want some reasonable things from it as compared to other manufacturers phone.
And when u not get it u get disappointed.

Yes my point is also that but how could so many problem arises from sony only why not in lg or samsung.
Go there handset thread you get one or two threads discussion about the problem. But in sony case there is a list of problems so my point is that is it really wise to purchase the phone without looking into the problem or we can discuss it and choose wisly our product.

Buy the phone and enjoy it. The only overheating issue Ive seen is when recording 4K videos. Who cares about 4K video? The quality of recording a video with a phone have other limiting factors far greater than 4K resolution. I have a panasonic SD90 1080p video camera, and the quality blows any phone cam away even if I would record at only 720P with it.
My Advice:
I think you should buy this phone. I havent got the Z2 myself, but from what Ive seen, its the best phone out there. If there is a problem, you have your warranty. There is not any greater risk in buying this phone or lets say the S5, M8 or G2...
And again, you have warranty from Sony!
Seems like most of the problems of the z2 are related to the audio side of things, its a shame really.

I've had the fortune of owning a Z2 since Friday and it's been a treat. I had an HTC One M7 prior and I haven't looked back. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed my One especially it's audio. However, the Z2's audio is not any worse in my opinion. In addition, the camera is a very pleasant improvement for me. To be honest, there's not a thing I don't like about my Z2. I'd buy it again!

Screen Mode

Just curious which one everyone is going with.
All my previous Note devices I always switched to Basic but Adaptive looks real good on this phone so I'm rolling with that for a while.

Seriously? 65% users here using Adaptive? What is wrong with Basic, the reason we use Samsung, the best colour calibration comes with Basic only, its good for ... well basically everything!
I know this thread is a bit old now but I thought I would update my view on this concern.
Now I actually have the Note 7 my anxiety over the colour saturation and screen modes has been eradicated! The display does not disappoint in any way and adaptive mode is surprisingly. . perfect!
I notice the difference between my Note 7 and my Galaxy Tab S, they look different but the Note 7 is equally good.
