I had deleted my mi account yesterday following the disappointment to unlock bootloader by official method but forgot to delink my Redmi Note 3 device from it. After flashing the Global Developer version of ROM, I get this message on screen that the device is associated with another mi account 162*****168. I'm consistently being asked to enter the password if I connect to a network which ultimately errors out saying "Couldn't verify mi account ID. Invalid username or password".
Now the question lies that is it possible to remove the device from a deleted mi account?
I'm ready to flash any other custom ROM in it but my concern is that the bootloader is still locked and I can't bypass the mi account setup after flashing another mi ROM.
Is there anyway to resolve such issues? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Solution: Flash MIUI v7.2.3.0 using mi flash tool (flash all) to bypass the mi account setup after flashing.
However if you update to MIUI 8, again the device will be locked.
Suggestion: Better switch to a custom ROM :good:

Finally recovered my device
Had to flash MIUI v7.2.3.0 (downgrade required) using mi flash tool and it didn't prompt me to go through the mi Account setup.
Don't know if it will remain this way on MIUI 8 update.

I did the same. The whole security thing in Xiaomi phones damages the brand. If you implement such a thing do it right. The way they did it sucks a lot.

Sorry dude. I don't have the device now. But I would suggest you to move to miui 7 first, unlock bootloader and then switch to LineageOS.

Hi, I got this device from someone and he forgot what was his mi account password, its email or number and everything. So he couldn't restore to factory setting before giving it to me.
I unlocked bootloader, fastboot flashed stable miui 8.0.1.0 and when I boot up I cannot pass mi account password page which says "the device is locked, password to unlock". It appears he had "find my device" option on in his mi account and now device is locked.
I tried everything almost i.e. wipe data, fastboot wipe, complete wipe, customer support and service center but I cannot get pass that page. Only option was to install any other rom then miui to get device running. But I need miui (specially for VoLTE) so if anyone know any solution?
Like.. I can flash SuperSu and before getting to mi account page I can Go to Google Now and from there I can install system app remover. I tried to remove "mi account" system but didn't work, I removed every system app having mi or xiaomi written but ended with a dead device when reboot.

Yes, first try was edl flash.

I dont think there is any other way besides contacting mi support. Try forgot password or something like that if its possible to do so. But the best option is to use a custom rom instead.
You are lost bro.
Whatever ROM you flash the Mi account credentials will be stored into the device that will not be wiped even if you flash the fastboot ROM.
But you can still use the phone be using any ROM other than MIUI and MIUI based ROMs (like Epic ROM).
I can see from search that there are lot of people facing same issue, yet no possible solution.
I did go to support and they just tell me to wipe data and flash fastboot. I told them it didnt worked but they keep saying its the only solution.
Is there any way I can get mi account email or number?? Support is not telling me that.

Sorry mistake only unofficial cm14 have volte.
So use aosp rom, you will get volte and all sensor work it's better than nothing :-/

How would anyone know that it's your device (or ur uncle whatever) or if it's a stolen one? There is that security measure (akin to iOS cloud lock) so that stolen devices can't be used by scumbag thieves. I'm not saying you are thief but who knows?

It has some bugs but since android 7 is new, it's common...
considering you can unlock the bootloader, ever think of erasing the config file via fastboot?

As i remember u can install epic rom it is based on latest miui developer beta and i tgink iy has mi accou t disabled still just during the setup put ur phone to airplane mode and tell us what is the result

I flashed my phone with kate_global_images_7.5.19_20170519.0000.00_6.0_global in order to unlock the bootloader via mi unlock. The phone has successfully connected to mi cloud and can be located on the i.mi.com website. If I go into developer options and tap on the button to bind the phone to my account for unlocking it just keeps telling me to try again in another couple of minutes. This seems to be a really common problem and I haven't been able to find a solution. Any ideas? Thanks.
Same here. Been waiting for 5 days now after getting permission. Still fails to bind. This whole official unlock way is a total POS. It even says after you are granted permission you can unlock right away but that's not true at all. I also have SE and dev rom btw.

MIUI 8 what? The dev rom 7.x is MIUI 8. Do you mean dev or stable? I was on MIUI 8 stable before but it didn't help.

I think the "can not bind" problem is specific to Kate. The IMEI problem with your Kenzo phone is probably a separate issue.

Yes i know.first you use the older version miui to unlock the bootloader.after that just reflash to latest dev rom.make sure you checked CLEAN ALL.it will not lock your bootloader.

I flashed kate_global_images_6.7.14_20160629.0000.25_6.0_global_1b43c8f07f and then started to get bootloops. I didn't get as far as flashing TWRP.

After flash,try to wipe data and cache in recovery.then reboot your device.if after 5 min still looping,try to force reboot.

I thought of that but I couldn't get the phone to boot into recovery - Power and Vol+ opened a screen with a picture of the phone with a cable being plugged into it rather than recovery

Doesn't work - complains that the deivice isn't bound to the account
There is no point trying anything. Nothing works. I have a 3 month long email chain with xiaomi support, which ended by them saying I should contact the direct seller. Basically they washed their hands. I ended up sending my device to a guy, who has a xiaomi service licence, and he managed to unlock it officially with his code.
If you cannot bind your account and device for two weeks with multiple tries, you should just give up on the "mainstream" unlock procedure. It will never work, and the only thing that comes out of it is slowly bulding rage.
It's not worth it.

I've tried flashing fast-boot ROM (android 7 global dev), but nothing helps. fortunately I've unlocked my boot-loader and now i'm using custom ROM. i want to be back to stock ROM. pls help.

If you want to get to MIUI, flash MultiRom, it is only dirty flashed, no clean flash. Will land you to MIUI.

Actually U have Messed with your persist partition in flashing rom or sensor fix zips.....
Nothing Can Help Now...Even You Flash in EDL mode will not clear the account.
You Can Only Unlock phone With UMT Box or any other Box.... Just Find A Mobile Repairer and that can unlock this with umt box or visit to service centre......
Optionally U Can Use other ROM Without Any Problem....

My friend has a RN3, and I helped him flash cm/LOS a while ago. It had started making some problems, so he wanted me to flash it back to MIUI. I downloaded the fastboot rom from MIUI's own site, and flashed it via adb/fastboot (Not Miflash, did not have a windows computer nearby)
Now the problem is that the phone is locked out, it says the device is associated with an existing MI account, and the phone number is from another country.
How do I fix this? Can't find any guides for it on the web, and flashing a custom ROM is not really an option since I don't have the time to help him update and maintain his phone
Just sign in with your friends account on pc then open following link : use https before url - account.xiaomi.com/pass/del now it will erase your all mi id data & linked devices. Before that try to do some RnD on mi Find my device & Remote lock / Remote unlock option or simply call Xiomi Customer care & get Help ( Most Reliable Source ) try to delete xiomi account only if you are not able to unlock it. Risk is yours so take decision carefully. Otherwise you need to spend few hours on pc to install custom Rom Directly..

Download RBSoft tools & you can remove the device locked screen, search on YouTube for tutorials & links for download

The problem is not flashing a custom ROM, I have learned and I know how to do it now after some years of flashing... The problem is that he wants to run stock MIUI because he is not a flashaholic, and MIUI has locked his device out. And the account associated with the device is not his account, which is very strange since I flashed LOS instantly on his device, he never used MIUI, and I got MIUI from their own website

Hey, I've had the same problem and I've recently fixed it. I can totally help you with this.
All you need to do it, flash the oldest fastboot ROM available for your device (7.1.8 in this case) through MiFlash.
Next step, let the device boot up. It won't ask you to enter the password to your previous account. Instead, it will give you an option to login to a new account. Use that option and login to a new Mi account.
When done, turn on find device feature in the Mi account tab (Important).
When done, use the in built updater to upgrade to the latest stable build. Done, you will get your device back, fully functional.

Don't try this method else your device will end up with corrupt efs & lost baseband no network both mobile & WiFi.. You must again restore imei to get Internet access & then login to MI account the whole process is troublesome

Don't try this method else your device will end up with corrupt efs & lost baseband no network both mobile & WiFi.. You must again restore imei to get Internet access & then login to MI account the whole process is troublesome

Hello guls and guys,
I had Poco with TWRP.
Accidentally, I have wiped the system from TWRP.
Then I tried to install custom ROM with TWRP and forgot to include bypass unlocker.
Now, I don't have TWRP on my poco, but have MIUI which is locked.
Btw, I can get into the fastboot mode.
P.S. Bootloades is unlocked.
P.S.S while I am trying to install from with miflash tool:
error: not catch checkpoint (\$fastboot -s .* lock)
I have such an error.
Is there any solution to get out from here?
I will appreciate any of your advice.
how about booting with adb with command fastboot boot twrp. img
So you can load temporary twrp
Why don't you flash twrp again if your bootloader is unlocked and you can access fastboot

I have installed twrp and it worked.
But the problem that I have now is quite different.
Phone works very well with Pixel experience ROM, but when I try to install MIUI official ROMS, it says that phone its connected to mi account and so, couldn't go through MIUI.
What can I do?

To avoid this you need to log out of MI Account.

I have tried formating data and wiping it too, but the results is the same. After flashing miui rom, it still says that I have Mi account lock

You have to contact service center, else just stick to customs like I do , been ages , i don't even remember how miui looks
