This is 3D Touch on the Galaxy Note 7 - Note 7 Guides, News, & Discussion

I found a video of 3d touch on the note 7
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxpFPHNdl24&feature=youtu.be

what do you guys think?

Rooted.

That isnt "3D touch"... Thats a software tweaked version of 3D touch.. The screen its self doesnt have added pressute sensitivity.. Only the pen does.

Yeah that's a bit old hat now......It's part of touchwiz UX not branded as 3d touch....been rocking that functionality on my Note 4 running N4/S7E rom.
It's just added eye candy imo..I like the effect but usually the only time I see it is after an accidental swipe....rarely have used it... perhaps in time

This is just a swipe up gesture, it's nothing to do with 3d touch.

Chance of Sense ports?

Hey guys.
Am still being torn between the Sensation and the Galaxy S 2 and, although I'm inclining towards the GS2,I still have some issues. Two of them are the biggest:
Plastic body(can live with that) and the absence of Sense(made a rime there! ).
As for the second one, what do you guys think?I saw two days ago that Sense 2.1 has been ported almost fully to the Nexus S,so why wouldn't the GS2 be able to run, say,Sense 3?
Seriously though, imagine this beast and Sense 3.Magic!If it is possible,I'm most probably sold!

same for me, i'm now a few weeks without sense, and neither launcher pro nor any of the other launchers are comfortable or "smooth" in the same way sense was...
i'm sure it would be possible to port sense to sgs2, but i think this would be a lot of hard work. without some dedicated devs there is absolutely no chance.
in the meanwhile i'm enjoying the sgs2 very much, the hardware is way ahead of anything HTC could offer at the moment - the overall user experience is almost superb...
what do you guys miss because im not understanding. It doesnt offer the same functionality with sense on past Winmo devices. Im not trying to be rude but help me understand what you guys are missing. Is it the eyecandy or flipclock?
I'm curious..
Don't misinterpret the tone of what I'm about to ask.. I assure you it is merely an inquiry..
If people love the sense UI why wouldn't they just exclusively by HTC devices?
Again, don't get me wrong.. I've used Sense (HTC Touch Pro) and Touch Wiz (Captivate, Vibrant, and soon SGS II) and I too miss the integrated prettiness of SenseUI but SenseUI isn't gonna happen on a non-HC device.. I'd venture to say ever.. (If I'm in error here please correct me) Sure I know we cannot predict tomorrow but I've read way too many threads where people have tried and as with most cases with attempted ports there's just too much custom code related to Sense to port to a non-Sense environment.
I'd LOVE to see native SenseUI on a Galaxy class device.. Sadly I doubt we ever will..
Intruda119 we are kinda having a civilized thing here, not intended for flaming.Do you, like any normal human being, have an opinion? If yes,say it.Else, don't criticise others.

Well,I want real power this time, that's why I'm turning to the Sam side!
Seriously though,I'd buy HTC again but all my smartphones have been HTC,so I kinda want a break.
What do I like in Sense?Mmm...Never had to answer that one before!Well, for me it's like they took all the good characteristics of other launchers and put them together in a nice,feature-packed(and resource-heavy however)interface.
Well,guess I'll try a detox...

who cares about Sense? you want Sense UI? get a HTC. i won't be using Sense or TW4 anyways. you want Sense on SGS2? wait for half a year for devs to port a buggy, crashy copy.
people talking about ROMs and crap...wait, noobs....wait
I would like sense, but after reading engadget's review of how it is not as snappy as the galaxy s 2, I wouldn't want to hinder the galaxy s 2 and it's goodness.
I guess im the only one to use 1-2 homescreen pages.

Just remember, software can be changed and upgraded. Hardware can't.
I only use 1.

CM and MIUI are infinitely more important to me than Sense. If I wanted HTC's restrictive UI on my GS2 I would have bought a HTC instead.
Anyway, I doubt you will see a proper port of Sense and all it's required libraries any time soon. They have only just managed to get a usable version on the Galaxy and that phone is over a year old.

I can't imagine it being laggy, it already runs pretty smooth on the desire anyway the whole sense experience makes things for users much smoother.

I'm not sure so much that it is lag. But if i have the same setup on launcherpro and sense and the same animation, the launcherpro just looks SOO MUCH smoother. THink it's something to do with the fps?
I'm curious as well. WHAT is it about Sense that everyone wants? I come from a WM background so for us it's that WM is ****ty and Sense provides a pretty and functional (or as functional as we can get) interface to the user. Android, however, is BRILLIANT and has plenty of apps and launchers and what not that it doesn't need you to have ANOTHER interface controlling everything. Isn't it a blessing not to have sense??
I'd really like to hear your guys opinions.
I think so, seeing as I got bored of it. and switched to launcherpro after a few months, however this was on my first ever android phone and I didn't even know that there was such a thing as a UI overlay for android! If I'd known you could get replacement launchers from the market I would have done it much earlier!

Well apart from having the best keyboard, email, message, gallery, contact, dialer, and widgets
like friendstream it's also the tight integration of everything with everything and it's beautiful too.

I agree with the dialer and Widgets. But it hasn't got the best of everything else. Not to mention thr fact that there are better Widgets on the market. I've been using a custimizable, scrolling Calender for a long time now on launcherpro.
And don't know about sense 3 but the gallery on my desire really isn't amazing. Its pretty average and takes a llong time to load images.

Note has rotate animation, us next?

Was just watching a video of the note and saw samsung added rotation animations on touchwiz with 2.3.5. so of course the question is, has anyone seen this coming for the i9100 cousin as well? Thoughts?. I hate that only motorola had rotation animations in android (not even cm7). Though honeycomb and probably ics do have this stock...

It's so huuuuuuge.
There was also videos of the GS2 having rotate animation in the browser, but it doesn't. Which meabs there where probably some problems that occoured.

boooooo why should Motorola get all the love? Terrible phones, terrible policies
On the bright side, I'd imagine ICS will bring real hardware acceleration to the OS, hopefully also rotation animation from honeycomb...

I like the build though on Motorola's phones though and what types of material they use, unlike Samsung's love w/ plastic.
Maybe they will implement it in, it would be a nice feature to have.. I love eye candy.

[Q] Android touch lag

I've tried most high-end android phones and find they all share the same touch lag issue. When I slide my finger on the screen, the screen doesn't react until my finger has moved a few millimeters or so(which is easily noticeable). This problem does not exist on iOS or WP7 or even Windows Mobile 6.
Is the touch lag related to the android kernal or the visual machine? Is it fixed on the Galaxy Nexus? If not, is it possible that the lag will be fixed in the future. I surely hope the problem be fixed way before the day when android fades away.

Depends on the sensitivity settings of the touch screen according to the manufacturer. A lot of the phones like the HTC Raider or LG Optimus LTE don't have a delay between when you touch and when it reacts. But all current androids have a little lag in rendering the sliding animations, which is due to there being no GPU rendering present in pre 4.0 android OS's.

The delay exists on the Sensation There isn't much difference between the sansation and the Raider right?

Repurposing the Evo 3D as a dedicated camera

I love taking 3D pictures and videos with my girlfriend's Sprint Evo 3D. We are ditching Sprint for T-Mobile, so she will have to get a new phone. We will keep the Evo 3D and make it our dedicated 3D camera/camcorder. Here are some of my ideas:
ROM: CoolSense v17 by coolexe . My GF prefers Sense, and this ROM has been working well for her for over a year.
Kernel: Coolz Kernel 5.7 by coolexe & cjoliver Been using an older version for the last year, pretty rock solid. I think it makes Sense (pun intended) to use a kernel from the same dev as the ROM.
Cam Mods: Cool Cam Mod v6 by coolexe. We used v5 for over a year, its pretty sweet. Took some awesome New Years photos in 3D, and they came out great!
Other Stuff: Rom Toolbox Pro, to remove bloat and unneeded apps. A couple of offline maps for navigating outside the grid. GPS Status to fine tune location, and Dropbox to auto-sync the pictures over wifi.
Did I forget anything? Got any suggestions? Let me know!
Pacs mods for Cool ICS if you want personalization

Oh , use Evo 3d as a camera . Good idea.
I think OTG is also useful ,you can use stickmount to mount usbstorage. : D

Do you have a phereo.com account. Want to see some 3d samples from the cool mods camera app!
I was thinking the same.
#1 most important thing, I think, would be to gut the telephony-relevant parts for improved battery life (currently running mine in airplane mode).
#2, would be some way to make the shutter button wake the phone and/or switch to the camera automatically
(1-click quick-shot, with screen off would be a dream)
Are the above possible, with this phone?
I'd also suggest picking up the biggest battery pack you can find. If all you want is a camera, you can definitely sacrifice some portability in favour of more battery life
go into the 3v0 cdma section of the site and look up negalite blurom. when you install it there is an option for tablet mode which ditches the phone parts and it acts just like a tablet which is what i will be doing once the new htc phone comes out in september.
enjoy

Sense 6 "Themes"?

k..sense 6 themes really suck. I hate to say it but keeping it REAL.
Sense <5.5 had a really DEEP black background that was like digital octopus ink.. I LOVED it.
What do we do about these crappy themes? I want my TMO ONE to look like it used to..
Custom Photo wallpaper does absolutely nothing for theme color modification.
and on a side note..the scrolling touch response is now borderline sketchy...enough already with the super hyper screen sensitivity.
radio performance thus far has been excellent.... A+:good:
Odd to be replying to my own post but as a follow up after installing the elemental x kernel the scrolling smoothness is now perfect like before the update..the improvements are perfect now..

HTC sense 6 themes wallpapers truly sucks. I specificity goggled: ,,HTC sense 6 themes wallpapers sucks ,,........
Green and deep purple! What a fukkk...I tried really hard to play around but my phone UI looks much uglier now then before. I can't believe HTC did it.....
did you try swapping to the black theme? makes all highlighted app colors black.
also, if you have root, you can install Sense 6 toolbox (from Xposed framework) and customize each app color.

I have to admit the themes for HTC sense 6 are horrible!!!!!, WTF htc?? and no way to customize unless I possibly root my phone, which scars me, I afraid something will screw up making my phone unusable. Htc should have put an easy way for users to customize the colors!!!! Even Microsoft gives the users the ability to customize windows!!! I should not have to root my phone to get a better color theme!!!! I love HTC but this is one thing that really frustrates me. Not everyone likes the same colors, giving only 4 choices is ridiculous, event the dark theme is not truly dark it uses and ugly green in some places(like the setting screen). COME ON htc give the use some native control over the UI!!!
