Is Apps2sd/Link2sd still working with MM? I tried to use Apps2sd to create mount scripts since it's not working for Link2sd. It worked and I can link app datas and files into the Sd card. However, since I partitioned the SD card with one Fat 32 for storage and one ext2/ext4 (tried both), only the ext partitions work and the primary partition Fat32 can't be read by the phone. Leaving me with only a 2nd partition for linking and a corrupt primary partition/sd card as MM reads it. Is there a way around here since my phone is nearly full on internal. TY in advance!

What you would want to do is reformat your SD card so it's all one partition and enable Adoptive Storage.
This app should help with that: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.superthomaslab.rootessentials&hl=en
Keep in mind, Adoptive Storage will encrypt your card so it will only usable by that phone unless you reformat it again, but it's a way cleaner and better set up option that the hacked way Link2SD works. No offense to the app as it is very useful in many situations, but Adoptive Storage is a feature made by Google and is built into Android 6+ but for some phones has to be enabled via ADB commands or an app (that just automates the process for you). AS makes it so your phone sees your SD card as the internal storage and works just like it. You should have a fast SD card for this to work best. Like SDXC type. Don't use a regular class 4 SD card.

Hello! Thanks for the reply and I guess I have no choice. I did adoptive storage and the app you gave worked well! But my adopted storage and SD card has the same name and confuses me at times. Is there a way to rename it? Also, how can I move apps from my internal to adopted? And is there a way to automatically install apps on adopted? Thank you!
My understanding is that once you have the adoptive storage set correctly then the phone should register that as part of the regular phone's storage.

Ok so far Ive found the mod to swap the internal and external sd,
The ideal mod for me is to merge all the 16gb internal into one partition and mount my sd card as a normal sd instead of external sd.
If anyone knows of the mod to do it the way ideal for me please link me. If you are a dev and like this idea would you take the challenge to make this happen? I will gladly beta test as long as a fastboot is available.

Just get a big honking SD card. I have a SanDisk 64GB sdxc.
The 128GB cards will probably be available by October.
That said, you can probably get LVM working under Android, but you'll only be able to work with it from the phone itself (no browsing from a PC or putting stuff on the microSD directly w/o totally breaking the logical volume).
You can also format the SD space as ext3, then set up /etc/fstab to mount the external SD on a folder on the internal SD eg, /mnt/sdcard/Music Library. You won't be able to read/write that space from Microsoft (no, e2fsd won't do it), but any other OS can browse it like any other disk drive. Also, the drives will still appear separate from outside the phone.
the ext3 sounds nice but I like my idea better, my idea is pretty much the way samsung/htc/lg formats their storage, one is phone storage, other is sd, not the phone, sd (other internal) and extended sd(actual sd card)
and sorry for some confusion for anyone I meant Extended sd not external, kinda a noob in here coming from a sammy prepaid android.
Iirc in ICS the internal memory is counted as one part. So the 4gb and 8gb will be 12gb or whatever. Android 2.3 and below use the partitioned method.

i have a problem with insufficient internal storage. i use a 64GB micro sd-xc card and have until recently used it as portable storage. but the phone's internal storage was not enough for all my apps and their data so i decided to format the sd as internal, which should allow you to move your apps there.
but as i discovered, only very few third party apps can be moved to sd, stuff like play music, drive, sheets, slides, etc. can not be moved. this puts me in an awful position because i use drive and play music a lot, and every kB of stuff i want to keep available offline gets stored in the small internal storage, so in the end i have no space left on the phone, and an almost empty useless sd.
using it as portable doesn't allow any apps to be migrated to the sd either, so i'm stuck with only 4GB of space. apps like link2sd and apps2sd don't work with marshmallow.
does anyone know how to move google apps or app data to the sd on marshmallow?? i don't want to go back to lollipop due to this...
OR, has anyone found out how i could partition the sd card in a way that a part would be formatted as internal and part as external storage? (all my attempts ended with the phone formatting the whole sd as internal)

I use Cyanogenmod 13 too. You have mentioned apps2sd do not work, but I use it and it works fine for me. Try to give it another go, and make sure you correctly partition your sd-card.

wow! thanks for your reply. i have played around with it a lot and i couldn't get it working, i also found other forums with people who had problems with this.. so please, could you explain to me the steps you took to get it working? like, what format was the sd card first, which app you used to partition it and what format was the partition? that would really help me out

I use MiniTool Partition Wizard to partition my sd-card. I connect it to a converter for usb and then connect it to my computer. In the partition wizard, I partition most of it to primary FAT32. Then the rest I partition to ext4, also primary. You decide on how much to allocate to each partition. I find using about 6 GB for the second partition will be the most I ever need.
After the sd-card is partitioned, I insert it back to my phone. When cm13 asks you to decide what to do with the sd cards, tell it the first partition is external, but don't do anything for the second one.
Then download apps2sd. go to settings and set "mmcblk1p2" for "Use custom dev block". Also check "Use public vold". Those are my settings. Then you can try and go to the "Link apps to sd card" section and continue from there. I really hope for you this works!
If id doesn't you can try to do the whole process but this time also tell Cyanogenmod the second partition is external.....

i'll admit, that a few minutes before reading this answer, i simply used apps2sd's partition tool, and with fat32 and ext3 i am now able to use the linking function thank you very much for your assistance, it's people like you thanks to whom the xda community is as awesome as it is <3

By the way, if after a reboot your phone tells you your sd-card is corrupt, just ignore the notification..

I've similar problems.
My configuration: LG G3 (D855) with CM13 (build: 20160528), SuperSU 2.74, xposed framework
In CM13 I'm not able to move apps to the external SD (there is no such option).
So I tried it with APPS2SD. :
- I'm able to create two partitions and to mount the second one.
- My Problem: I always get the following error message when trying to move an app: ...apk Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE]
Already tried:
- different File Systems for second partition (ext2, ext3, ext4, f2fs)
- with or without swap partition
- Also your mentioned options:
-- use of the MiniTool Partition Wizard with a primary FAT32 and a second primary ext4 partition
-- set "mmcblk1p2" for "Use custom dev block"
-- check "Use public vold"
Nothing helped so far. Still the same error.
By the way, I can see my second partition in the (rooted) Total Commander App (also in Android Settings, but there it is marked as damaged). And CM13 never asked me what to do with the second partition (only that it is damaged).

I haven't done it myself because I have a class 4 sd card and I'm afraid it's going to be slow but it seems like a good idea

I've got a moto E and a 8GB SD card. I have been using MM(AICP) for like months and I really love the ROM and its battery backup but the thing is I'm running out of storage space.. The system itself takes like 1.2 GB out of 2.1 GB available internal storage and few basic apps - I'm full...
I have only 1 game and would like to try more like I used to but can't download as play stores says I'm out of space... Updating apps have been an issue too.. I want to fix this by buying a Samsung 32GB EVO+ class 10 (20MB/s Write Speed) and use it as my internal storage...

Yes. It will be worth it and the problem you are facing is faced by everyone.
So is your phone rooted? If not search xda for methods to root your phone. Then use Link2sd. You can find detailed guide on how Link2sd works in xda itself. if not then i can help.
How link2sd works? In short:-
It requires 2 partitions of your sd card (you will know how to partition your sd in every link2sd guide) one partition for media storage like songs videos images etc and the other will work as internal memory. For this you will require rooted device. And also you will need Foldermount which will enable you to move the obb or game data from internal to external sd. And root is necessary for this too. Hope it helps.
Marshmallow has inbuilt feature of using Memory Card as Internal Storage.
I am using it from a month and honestly no bugs.
The only problem is that you have to format your SD card in the phone itself to use again as portable storage device.
The second thing is that If you format your phone or start using another ROM your SD card data will be of no use and you will have to format it again.

marshmallows feature since it automatically moves all apps to SDcard.
One more thing link2sd will create partition out of your SD card while marshmallow will automatically format your SD card as internal storage..
Marshmallow feature is strongly preferred.

Well I've been using this hybrid method lol. I partitioned my SD card so that - one partition is used for marshmallow's feature and rest space as portable storage
Didn't wanted to go all in as the feature encrypts the entire card and makes it unusable on other devices.
My phone's running smoother than before maybe coz of the Class 10 UHS-1(though UHS-1 speeds aren't supported by my device) card I've been using. I'm getting ~11.63 MB/s which is faster than phone stock internal storage(~11MB/s).

I have a Moto E 2014 (condor) in which I installed Lineage 14.1 a while back. I want to use my SD card as internal memory. However:
1. If I migrate data from internal to SD card, the apps on the SD card doesn't work at all. There would be no point doing so.
2. If I don't migrate data from internal to SD card, the apps installed on external will work very well, but I cannot access the SD card in any way. Even if I have 16 GB memory card, only the 2.2 GB internal card is accessible in file explorers and when connecting to PC.
3. If I use the SD card as a portable device, all apps will be installed only in internal, so there wont be enough space for all apps.
4. I wanted to use Link2sd as before, but no matter how many times I partition the card, Link2sd won't recognize it.
Please help me.

I only wanted to be a bit more specific on this issue. It's the one thing that's buggy, otherwise this OS is perfect.

after migrating the data from internal storage to adopted sd card, move apps manualy from external storage to internal storage, somo apps are too buggy on this device, because the sd card reader doesn´t have too much speed of read and write

Then there would be no point in using external as internal storage. The very reason I want to do so is to install apps in external. About speed, it worked fine with Link2SD before, so pretty sure it's the OS that is bugged.

What I've tried:
I partitioned the sd card using minitool partition wizard. I partitioned it into 100gb fat32/exfat and 20gb ext4 partition. I was able to install apps onto the ext4 partition and read things from the fat partition. However, there was a couple problems. I could never see the ext4 partition, all I saw was the internal storage (32gb) and the sd card fat partition (100gb) so I didn't know anything about the sd card ext4 partition.
Secondly, on reboot the fat partition would not mount. I would have to take out the sd card out and put it back in to get it to work.
Thirdly, even when the fat partition would mount it would not show up in windows mtp. When I plugged the phone into the computer all that I could see was the internal storage, so if I wanted to put anything onto the sd card I would have to take it out and put it into the computer.
I've used this adoptable storage module to enable installing apps on sd card. It "worked" but I face two problems with this: solid explorer only reads the sd card so it says I'm only getting 120gb (not 120gb + 32gb) and secondly it doesn't load magisk modules properly, so vanced youtube or viper4android don't work. Also now I can't get reverse this.
I've been trying for a while now, I would really love some help.

I've even tried contacting Samsung and they've done nothing. I have kernal auditor and it looks like I can make a init.d file, is there something I can do with that?

Check out the second from bottom in the pic if it doesnt work and try again

I think that the setting in developer options worked! Easier than partitioning.
