I'm really quite disappointed with the maximum speaker volume - it's really poor. are there any tweaks?
Cheers

do you have your EQ with your desire presets? do you have the virtual S surround active for front speakers? mine sounds really good, not loud, but good.

to make it louder
If you have European Xperia PLAY (R800i) and Android updated to 2.3.4 in Sound Settings you have to tick the option "xLoud".
The speakers will be much louder because low frequencies will be partially cutted off and mid/high frequencies will be bumped up in volume.

I've found that on certain ROMs the loudspeaker is louder than on others. For example, on the Sony ICS Beta the loudspeaker is quite loud. However on CM9 and ICS++ the loudspeaker is a fair amount quieter.
As mentioned above, it may be because of xLoud being enabled on the original beta and not on the others - But i've not really looked into it.
That being said however, this should really have been posted in the Q&A section.

What is the best way to make the s2 sound quality better

After reading loads. I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the mods and stuff.
So can anyone examination what's the best way to make the sound quality better?
There's loads of bits from the voodoo side of things or the beats audio I'm not sure..
However I am a audiophile and would like the best sound and also more volume.
Thanks in advance

Voodoo Louder will give you up to 6dB more volume with headphones/headset, Voodoo Sound doesn't work with SGS2 as the Yamaha DAC isn't compatible with it. Best bet is to get a decent audio app with EQ/bass boost/widening/etc.
Other than that, a decent set of headphones/canalphones should make the sound 'acceptable' tho not as good as a phone with a Wolfson DAC like the Galaxy S (or so people say).
try some pro headphones
use voodoo louder
use dsp manager
I'll be buying voodoo louder tomorrow. I test the quality on a pair of sennheiser HD650s into a Neco Soundlab custom headphone amp so there's no issues there. :-D
So I take it that the beats audio mods don't work at all?

Some say Beats works well while others say it makes no difference at all. Could be a placebo effect but not sure. Read the Beats thread here on XDA's Gslaxy S2 forums or make a backup and then try for yourself

the beats audio mod is nothing but a equalizer setting
try power amp in my experience it gave the best audio quality

+1 for PowerAmp in terms of best audio quality. Better than the other apps I've tried. Also using Voodoo Louder which does not affect quality but does increase volume in headphones by 1.5, 3.0, or 6.0 decibels.

HIT THANKS IF THIS HELPS YOU IN ANYWAY
Ok this is what I'm doing. On my neat rom I have installed beats audio and so far WOW I can actually hear the sound stage and the bass is way better. I will buy voodoo louder tomorrow and put it on the resurrection remix rom and see if I can indeed hear the difference.

Ok so I've ended up putting both voodoo louder and beats on both roms and they both compliment each other and now the music is amazing! So if you want good sound quality do that. It works for me

Meh I don't touch EQs or dsps because all your doing is coloring the audio I've found with beats and voodoo louder and my sennheiser mx500s when I'm out or HD650s when I'm indoors both are excellent

And Beats audio does what exactly ?
I have a marketing slogan for Beats audio:-
"Beats Audio - for people who can't tell the difference between a 32kbps MP3 & a FLAC with their ears !".

PowerAmp is the way to go, thx everyone, is IE6 good for the s2?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
I use Beats, PowerAmp ( Flat EQ settings ), and extweaks ( to jack up the db on the headphone socket same process as vodoo louder I guess) and a pair of Sennheiser IE8 earphones which has a very nice 16ohm Independence

Bass vibrate app idea

I was wondering if any devs out there could make an app that makes your phone vibrate with big bass beats in your music

Is anyone using a Sound mod on D6503 official MM?

Anyone rocking a good sound mod on the .570 MM official firmware? I need suggestions. The sound output from my headset and speaker is low after the update and I'm scared of flashing mods i used on lollipop.
Project Desire works without any problem on my MM

Hey i tried this:
works with stock marshmallow - sony's MUSIC, headphones, speaker allso, but not with lets say say... tune in radio (maybe other apps not allso).
i still prefer Cyanogenmod's AUDIO FX, so i am again on cm 12.1
but give it a try:

Currently I'm on the V11 Beta 18.
Thanks for all the replies guys. I've tried all of them, but in the end, i settled for a mod that Really increased the sound from my headphones and retained stock quality on @sublinker 's thread. The speaker sound is still low for tones but surprisingly my alarm tone is very loud

Any good sound mod to just increase general sound for z2 mm .291?
I used the mixer_path method to increase headset sound but that method isn't working anymore.
I Hopefully wish someone would recommend me a good mod.
Thanks in advance,,, ??
