Thanks ! But the EMUI default font doesn't have special fonts like "é or à" can you fix it...? Some games use them for special stuff like logos on Real Racing 3...

Thank you! One newbie question: is the custom font applied everywhere (Google apps included)? The default emui font (which I like a lot) only shows up in emui settings and apps, but when I open something google-related (such as Google keyboard settings) that ugly Roboto font keeps on appearing...

try applying emui default font and then apply any other custom font.

I would like to thank you for the fonts. While I have had numerous cell phones in the past I would say I have basic skills. I have had the honor 8 for about a week now. I love the phone but was unaware of the programming glitches that plague the company. So obviously i will have to take this as a challenge and educate myself. Mind you I am a carpenter by trade. That being said I tried your fonts and everything worked except one problem at the end. When I go to theme to apply them it only lets me pick it as a theme not just a font. Any advice on what I'm missing or doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.

its emui 4.1 problem, emui 4.0 had option to choose font styles under settings>display>font style.
just apply the font as a theme then apply any other theme which dosent have inbuilt font and the font will stay

oh then maybe its pixelized because of bad optimization on the miui launcher port... not saying that your work isn't good. its awesome but it needs to be perfect hehe

im my experience everytime I resized images not on photoshop i get pixel excess... try to resize them on photoshop maybe it's the way to go :d

yeah you're right.. I used paint.net to resize the icons and they were pixelized..
used photoshop and they were good...
Some tips I'd recommend:
Icon size : 48 x 48 pixels
In photoshop, Select save for web & devices and save them as png-24

Great theme as always, good to see that it's available for this phone. I was using this on my P9 Lite and I'm using it now on my GR5 2017. I can honestly say 100% that this theme for huawei and honor phones are the best for that more android look. Keep up the good work dude :good:

just rename the extension from .zip to .hwt
if it dosent work with the default file manager, then download other third party file managers
It's the best theme for me I have been using this theme since I had the mate 8 and now on my honor x6. Keep the good work dude you're the best ?

i was left with just a old nokia device for my studies
here it is....
both my project iosmix and vui will be ported to emui5 in the comming weeks(no excat ETA yet).
and also emui4 version of the theme also will be maintained with some new edits to match stock android/ios.

Today I am posting how to make a emui theme .
create emui theme
Let's get started to Topic.
STEP : 1
WHAT TOOLS YOU NEED ?
-pc
-7 zip for compressing and decompressing theme [ DOWNLOAD]
-Notepad ++ or good code editor I use atom .[DOWNLOAD]
-A THEME for editings you can choose any . Eg [ download theme]
-Paint.net or adobe Photoshop for icons editing
Step 2
Rename .hwt file to zip
Then Decompress using 7z
Editing Description.xml
-After decompressing go to description.xml file
Code looks like this .

Icons
*all the file name / icons name should be shame
*All icons will be 192 px × 192 px or less.
*Icons must be in .png . select 8 bit or 32 bit
Download Icon pack from here : iconpack.zip
Step 4
Wallpapers
You can replace old wallpaper with new but the home screen wallpaper name should be ' home_wallpaper_0.jpg and unlock wallpaper name should be ' unlock_wallpaper_1.jpg
The size must be 1920×1080
aND FORMAT SHOULD BE .jpg or .png [png will be best]
Step 5
System apps
You can personalize all system app and color of text of the apps
start with the structure of the app/directory
Framework-res-hwtext
Here you can change icons/color
-theme.xmL : You can change the colors of text avilable.
-Drawable-xxhdpi- dirctory you can change image listed
Res

You can edit further by own idea.
Step 6
Closing theme .
Select all and zip it and then rename it to .hwt
Step 7
Preview :
After that take screenshot of modifications.
simply rename .hwt to zip and Go to Preview folder and rename all screenshot as old.
and then repack you are ready.
Note : i'm not good or perfect . if i have done any mistake pls comment and i will correct my wrong points.
all images used are not my . images are copyrighted to their authors
I made a theme including 12.500 (twelve thousand five hundred) icons. Seems like the EMUI theme engine can not handle it. It's a pity. Same theme with 3700 icons works. The MIUI theme engine can handle the 12.500... Meh. Writing this to Huawei will not have any effect I guess.

Hi, maybe you know how can I edit widgets in theme. There is a screen lock widget in honor 8 lite, emui 5.0.1. How can I change it, make it round for example?

Yes it can be..you might need to add couple of xml..i think calendar and one more i believe.

I wanted to customize a emui 8 theme I got via the playstore, I managed to change the Icons without a problem but the appdrawer one makes some problems. I managed to change it but when I long-press it a weird green box appears around it. Do you know what might cause this and how I can fix it?
Design App does not find the theme

after editing a color in the theme.xml and following Instructioms the Design App not finding the theme even it is placed in the right directory.

It will changes bro . Every letter will changes .font system uses only one font at a time.

That's a bummer because on my previous phone even on flashing a font through recovery had no effect on widgets.
I guess font changing works a bit differently on emui.

Yes , it was different in emui . Emui is crap ,only helps in aggressive killing of apps.
