Low volume - LG G5 Questions & Answers

On youtube anything below 50% is hardly audible. Anyone else who is also experiencing such problem? Actually otherwise also volume below 50-60% is very very low.

not that I recognized. It is louder than my note 2 and at 50% it seems reasonably loud for me

Low ringing sound

Is anyone feeling that the ringing sound is very low compared to the music played through the speakers?

same feeling here.
This......not so good!! Had a few phones with low ringtones, very annoying. Was hoping the Z2 to be on par with the G2 as I found that ringtone volume excellent!

How is the overall call volume? Is it loud enough?
Why do manufacturers do these dumb things?
I wanted the loud speakers mainly for the loud ringing advantage, as I set my phone down in one corner of the house and often miss calls as I can't hear it from the other rooms.
Hopefully there's a fix.

Apparently call volume is low too...
Everything was looking so promising for the Z2...[emoji22]
Can't be doing with a phone with low ring/notification sound...remember on the Sony Ericsson X1 the amount of calls and SMS I missed due to low (and poor quality sound).

Seriously, I don't know why every review I've read so far talks about the power front facing stereo speakers when the volume is really so poor. What's the use?
Looks more like a software glitch to me.
One more bug I find was the volume indicator which appears when you press the volume rocker doesn't seems to be moving continously the correct volume levels. Again, not sure whether it's just me alone with this bug.

Well it's a complete deal breaker for me. Seriously thinking of cancelling my pre-order
My opinion. Both call and ringer volume are more than sufficient.

Well, it depends on you, but I feel it's a software issue as I could hear loudly when I play music. So it can't be a hardware issue. It could be a matter of bug fix update from Sony to fix it.

Again, it's sufficient.
Web tests put the M8 at 85db and the Z2 at 82db.
I don't use my phone to blare music at high volume levels.

One speaker better than the other?

Correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that the 'loudspeaker' is made up of both the top and bottom speakers for stereo? What I am implying is that while using the loudspeaker for music/YouTube, the speaker at the top of the handset has a weaker sound that the one at bottom. It does not carry as much bass and is noticeably quieter.
This seems odd because i dont have this issue

Ok I have received a replacement Z2 today and it has exactly the same issue. When playing music/videos/games, the speaker at the top is noticeably quieter and provides a lower quality sound.
Maybe this is a software problem? The two devices I have had are on 17.1.A.2.55 but I have seen in the General section there is a newer firmware than this.
Can @LotoTutu @Envious_Data and @Alex Charles confirm what version your're using? Thanks!

im on 17.1.A.2.55 too, i dont have any issues, the only issue i have ran into with my XZ2 is a random lag ever so often, but this only occours when i have 3 or more apps open,
(I Believe this is a RNGD/Entropy)
Misc info
i believe then new firmware is 17.1.A.69 which contains some minor bug fixes and stuff, im not sure about the details of it realy so i cant tell much realy
the Speaker issue we have here i cant tell if its a Firmware or Hardware, i kinda need to test some more,
ill be getting a second XZ2 so ill be able to test weather this is a HW or a Firmware issue unless someone else can conform

Best way to test is test file like this http://www.testmyspeakers.com/speaker-test.mp3 (this plays left, right then both)
Because some songs records in a way one side for base

i tried this link and my bell unit has the same issue. it is not drastic, but there is a slight difference in volume with the bottom speaker being louder. i noticed this today when listening to a podcast when i accidentally covered the bottom speaker and noticed that the sound dropped quite a bit. the difference was not as noticeable with this link though. i am on the .55 firmware, can anyone with .69 confirm that their unit works differently?

It's no bigger than the cutouts for the headphones on most cases so this should be fine to use on a phone with a case. It is in fact the same size as most headphone connectors so if a headphone fits so will this. Just an excuse to spend 24p really lol that's why I bought one, no reason to.. No reason not to. Although I do think being able to activate the flash with one click even with the phone in standby is pretty useful for me personally.

Any effect on battery life?
My G3 (D855) seems to be having issue detecting anything that I plug in the headphone jack other than the stock headphones that came with it. I tried plugging in the pressy button and a portable speaker on separate occasions but they were only detected momentarily. The button works fine on my old phone which is a galaxy note n7000 so I'm pretty sure it isn't spoilt.
Anyone has any clue about this issue? Otherwise I'll probably send my G3 for repair since it's still obviously still under warranty.
I am having issue with Pressy on g3 and my other phone so it's not the phone it's Pressy.

V10 lags or stuttter?

Hi,
Are there some people that are getting some lagg / stutter on the v10?
Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
absolutely no lag whatsoever here, handles everything so smooth, this is unbelievable for stock
I'm not seeing any lag. I have a few minor quibbles but none related to lag. Very quick and responsive.
Agree with those guys. My T-Mobile variant is very smooth. Keyboard seems a little wonky and the fingerprint scanner is picky but overall I'm pleased with the device.
So far it's been pretty smooth.

Observations
I have noticed lags and stutters.
On two occasions I have witnessed others lag in bringing out their phones once mine was observed. And once a colleague stuttered when he saw me retrieve the v10 from my pocket while he began asking me about it.

Sorry, I haven't used a third party GPS app in a long time.
It finds me faster than my Note 2 did and the note 2 was actually pretty good. It's also beating the heck out of my husband's note 3.
That's for normal online use. We're on a road trip now and we've mostly had LTE and edge. Maybe I'll try it out later when we get up into the mountains and lose signal.
I never save any map info so I rarely bother to try maps or navigation if I have no signal.
