Mirror android screen using Wi-Fi direct? - Google Chromecast 2015

I have a lm6200 LG TV that has Wi-Fi and Intel widi built in and a LG G4 sprint with miracast and smart share. Is there any way to Mirror my Android screen to this TV without internet using a chromecast? Specifically I only want to mirror the games I play on phone to big screen wirelessly. I have unlimited data on phone but hot-spot is a not an option as it costs $$$$. Really don't want to root phone either. If chrome not good option can anyone recommend another cheap dongle so I can Miracast my phone screen to it? TV has hdmi, USB and several other ports on back to plug into. Thanks in advance!

Intel WiDi is a Miracast implementation! You should not need a Miracast dongle or the Chromecast to mirror your display to your WiDi enabled TV!

[Q] Android Device as Miracast Reciever

Hi there!
I have a question about Miracast compatibility:
As far as I know Miracast Streaming is software related. So majority of 4.2.2+ phones can stream the display. I wonder if it is possible that all the devices act as recievers too?
What I mean is.. if you have an Android TV Box, can you make it work as Miracast reciever so I could stream my android phone to that Android TV Box?
I am looking at some Android Boxes HERE and I see that only THIS ONE "officialy" supports Miracast (as reciever). Is it really the only one with Miracast capability?
Thank you for your time in advance!
Anyone? Please?
miracast need both wifi direct and hardware h.264 encorder.
android source code AOSP 4.2 later, miracast source(sender) and sink(receiver) implemented but all 4.2 devices couldn't execute miracast because hardware ESP encorder didn't support miracast requirements.
my custom rom enables nexus 7 2012 and galaxy nexus as source and sink.

So if I understand you, if a device supports Miracast it can be used in any way (as source or reciever)? So basicly I could send my display from android phone to android TV or vice versa?
miracast supported android phone and tablet, it's a source(sender).
miracast TV, it a sink(receiver).
phone screen to TV using miracast probably succeed, but i heard some failure sample of miracast, like LG TV didn't connect nexus 4 or other combination.
android TV box that "miracast supported", maybe a sink, but i don't know correctly.
in addition, miracast receiver products, that is a sink, connect to TV by HDMI cable, TV become miracast sink supported TV.

Yes they can my android phone can receive and cast (inbuild app called screen projection)
I personally think if it can cast it needs a switch so it can also receive, its a theory im not very familliar with mira cast/receive yet.

What do you mean by 'WiDi connection'? WiDi is Intel's Miracast marketing name. Bouth need activated WiFi to use the WiFi direct feature of your device. An internet connection should not be necessary.

What phones can be airplay?

Mirror G3 to lg tv!

No Chromecast here. Have an apple tv. My tv is an LG 60lm7200. I cannot find a way to wirelessly mirror my phone screen to my TV. Any ideas?
Your lg tv may be miracast ready or there may be a software upgrade to support it. if it does support miracast then all you need to do is go to settings\share &connect\Miracast set to on and search and connect.
if it is not miracast ready you can buy a miracast dongle from amazon and such.
AllCast from clockwork mod in playstore will let you send videos and pics to your airplay device (appletv) but miracast will allow you to send your entire desktop.
I would go down the miracast route.
Tv is not miracast capable, smart share app is a place holder. All cast is only local files correct? Looking for live mirroring

I edited my previous post.
you could go the hardware method using a cable with an hdmi out called a slimport adapter.
We have been having great success and a lot of fun mirroring the G3 to the audio receiver and then on out to the TV via a Chromecast on HDMI.
Popcorn Time !
When I tried that on my Nexus5 it did great for a while then got hot and stopped. No such problem with the G3, strangely.

Nexus 9 to TV?

How can I connect my N9 to my TV at work. Chromecast won't work due to work Wi-Fi security and I can no longer hotspot my phone since my MotoX gen 2 isn't too table.
Looks like the microusb doesn't have a video out.
I work at the fire department and it would be nice to load movies on my tablet so we could watch them at the station at night.
If your TV is DLNA compatible, you can use AllCast to play movies. Or if your TV supports MiraCast, you can apply this mod to enable MiraCast on your N9 (which will mirror your screen directly to your TV using WiFi Direct) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2941396

[Q] Does LG V10 supports CAST SCREEN.

While waiting for the new LG V10 to hit TMO-US, can any-one tells me what type of "CAST SCREEN" feature is implemented?
HDMI SlimPort
Miracast
Chromecast
Both Miracast and Chromecast.
delete . . . .
I will just add that it works perfectly with the Amazon Firestick for direct screen mirroring (no need to be on the same network). Great for using unlimited data to watch Netflix on a hotel TV without have to do a tether hack.
I am using a kanex slimport to hdmi adapter, works well. Also works with the samsung allshsre hub, however delay in some audio to video issues.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...&sr=8-1&keywords=kanex+slimport&condition=new
