today i shifted to MIUI and flashed official MIUI on my galaxy S3.
i also had same problem. this ROM doesn't support init.d by default. i flashed custom kernel (ADAM's kernel in my case but you can also choose Googy's) and then flashed ExtSd2InternalSd v6 Mod.
it working absolutely great now.

The problem is that I am not able to install any app... Either from play store or an apk I get an error saying application not installed. I am able to install apps only from a flash able zip.
Please help!! Any help would be appreciated.

well, you would need to install cm11 MW or cm11 MW optimized version, because I know that those stable ROMs have App2Sd method. Recommend more the optimized one.
