All are asked to F2FS, personal experience convinced that f2fs slightly slower than the well-tuned EXT4. So, no, f2fs in the nucleus and never will be. There is such a thing as a placebo effect, to me, he never acted, so I'm up to 100% affirm that f2fs slower EXT4. More practice shows that F2FS retains a memory of more than EXT4 but it's just a few months. I do not see after all the above make any sense to add it to the core. There are other, EXFAT, NTFS and so on, this is really useful and F2FS - pampering. Please understand and forgive: D

I have some questions regarding this kernel.
Anyone tested this kernel on Santhosh M built?
Is i necessary to flash WiFi fix?
Does YouTube work? Even on 1080p?
Video recording through camera in 1080p does it freeze image but sound still runs?
Thank you very much!

Anyone tested this kernel on Santhosh M built? no, i use aosp base.
Is i necessary to flash WiFi fix? no
Does YouTube work? Even on 1080p? case of any kernel

Ok just made a backup and tried this kernel with Santhosh M built and it works perfectly.
WiFi, YouTube 1080p even in 60fps. 1080p recorded videos.
Installed kernel audiutor and even the colour profiles works.

Now this, is awesome. Thank you! Works flawlessly.

I don't think that having a ton of governors & hotplugs is better than having one well-optimized governor which works out well with one hotplug. I'd prefer an optimized interactive/ondemand with boost'n'crap rather than a zoo of governors.

No satured colors

Kernel running good so far. Thanks for your work!
Any recommended settings for governor and hotplug?
And is there any chance for adding DT2W?
Thanks in advance!

Flashed the kernel with Santhosh's AOSP ROM... Awesome kernel.. But I don't get any messages from hangouts when the phone is asleep..I get all the messages when I open the app. Is the kernel killing all the background apps?

About:
I started this kernel mainly for myself, but decided to share it with you.
I would like to keep this kernel 'minimal' but I'm open to suggestions or ideas. With minimal I mean mostly improvements to the source, no instable stuff and no bloated options.
My kernel doesn't need any additional apps to configure it, all values are set by the ramdisk. Only if you want to customize stuff you might use an app.
Version and changes:
Current: 0.6
Short changelog: Bug fixes and improvements (also fixed the bug when changing min cpus online would be stuck at input freq)
Features:
- O3 build
- GCC 5.2 (ubertc)
- 3.4.110
- Optimized flags
- Optimized source
- Latest alucard hotplug (enabled at boot)
- Latest Intelliplug
- State notifier
- Bunch of schedulers (tripndroid by default)
- Impulse governor (by default)
- Kcal support

I know that this doesn't technically works for a minimal kernel but in the lollipop kernel they had added 500+ comits to improve battery maybe you could port some over

I try to configure my kernel so that you don't need to customize anything, so impulse with tripndroid (default) is pretty good.

no, it doesn't
Add kcal and a sound engine. Also I would reccommend you upload to AFH. Google drive is slow for me. Also once many start downloading the gdrive link might not work later on.
Edit: Flashed it running smoothly. No issues at all (Y)
Flashed it. It's fast, but my phone has insomnia and does not want to sleep.
Maybe due to this, it's a bit hot and battery hungry.
Will try to wipe caches again and report back.
Thanks!
As suggestions, I'd like to have another hotplug (msm) manager and Lionheart governor for the CPU, and maybe reduce gpu minimum speed to 27mhz.
congratulations on this magnificent kernel, could incorporate some overclock CPU and GPU, thanks
Enviado desde mi LG-D855 mediante Tapatalk
Im using this kernel for a day and so far everything is working fine and smooth, IMO maybe is better to keep kernel minimalistick and clean but wery well optimized or make 2 versions 1 tweaked with bunch of sheluders and governors and 1 simple and clean. Either way great job on this.
thanks for the update, im falling in love with this kernel.
I love this kernel too! Its more fluid than stock and battery seems same. Definetely you guys must give a shot.
Thank you for this awesome kernel! Performance is amazing with it and battery life too!
I've a problem, when i flash this kernel over solidkernel only the minimum core chosen is MSM_mpdecision is activated. If i set the minimum to 1, only one core is activated...

Pdesireaudio - FAQ
What is pdesireaudio?
192kHz 24bit audio playback, 24bit audio recording, and higher buffering on kernel
Interesting, how do I configure it?
There is nothing to configure, it should work out of the box
For advanced users, the sysfs paths are
/sys/module/snd_soc_wcd9330/parameters/uhqa_mode_pdesireaudio
/sys/module/snd_soc_wcd9330/parameters/high_perf_mode
/sys/kernel/sound_control_3/highperf_enabled
1 to enable, 0 to disable
Default is enabled at boot
How do I merge pdesireaudio into my code?
Pdesireaudio needs device tree and kernel patches, head over to my github https://github.com/anupritaisno1 to find out the patches you'll need
Wait! So what do I get to control?
Nothing in the case of audio, not to mention that audio is already a mess on op2
You still get basic sound control however
Got it? Anything I should watch out for?
Pdesireaudio can technically work in a ROM that doesn't support it however if you flash anything other than ARISE, then you'll break pdesireaudio completely
Nethunter support
Flash SuperSU
Put a su script to run supolicy --live "permissive *" at boot
That's it?
Interactive governor tweaks?
I use glassfish and most of my testers seem to like fairparkhe
Hotplug?
I just turn it off
Thermals?
Usually turn everything off here too
GPU settings?
I normally don't change anything here
Screen?
Here are my settings
R: 256
G: 250
B: 241
Saturation: 35
Value: 124
Contrast: 128
Hue: 1
You are working hard
Thanks

Yes, you need to tune it a bit in kernel adiutor
Also that is a "power efficient workqueue", it does nothing by itself if your configuration is set to consume too much battery

This kernel is more faster than artx and light kernels, I am of those who cannot see a little lag because that bothers me and this kernel keeps my device smooth...
I didn't tested it on stock and I don't think that it will work, anyway, I can try to build custom stock kernel but I think that it's too late now for build to marshmallow

Sorry dude, I re-uploaded it
So, default cpu governor is performance? I hope it doesn't drains battery so much, since I usually prefer to just use the default setting because I believe OP have the best balanced settings there.

I don't know why your default gov is perfomance, change ir to interactive, I'll update this kernel soon... I'm a little busy for now on other things

Keep your time. You don't have to push an update all days. Let the users use it for a while and then report. One day with this kernel and report it is nothing. The system need time to get one with the kernel settings
G3X is pretty much beta. ArtX is not beta (IMO). If you want a more stable kernel use ArtX until this one gets all the kinks worked out.

I think I should also mention that I'm using RR 5.8.3 rom for F400 variant by oadam11, which is also have performance governor by default on its default kernel. Maybe there are something related.
Anyway, take your time, and thank you for your hard work.
EDIT: However, I've tried artxlight 2.1 but its governor wasn't set to performance by default. It was zzmoove.
Hi I have a little problem. When I flash through TWRP I get unsupported device and error 1. My device is d852.

This is my 3rd attemt at making custom kernel for G3, after few months of working on it, i think its mature enough to make it public. Kernel used lineage cm-14.1 as a base, since then i made over 1500 changes to it. Much features are taken from 3.10 base and its version is probably closer to 3.10 then to 3.4.
R1 to R7 Kernel comes in 4 variants:
Standard and slim version for Nougat and Oreo
Slim verion lacks in additional governors and hotplugs.
This kernel was only tested on D855, but should work on other variants without issues, if any let me know.
R8 Kernel is only for Pie and Oreo Roms.
Nougat and slim versions are EOL.
Features:
Compiled with UBERTC 4.9
Additional governors: Impulse, zzmove, alucard, electroactive, elementalx, intelliactive
nightmare, slim, smartmax, smartmax_eps, umbrella_core, yankactive
Addtitional hotplugs: alucard, autosmp, blu_plug, bricked, mako, intelliplug, msm
MSM Limiter
State Notifier
Powersuspend
Power Efficient Workqueues
Per core input boost
CFS Scheduler policy

These zips are AIO this means it will detect your G3 version and flash proper kernel, a backup of stock boot.img will be created in the directory where the zip is, just in case smh goes wrong.
Also i included a control app to manage the kernel, its based on KA fork made by @bhb27, i made changes to make it work on G3, plus added some other features missing in @bhb27 KA.

Gangsta!
Your out of the box settings are awesome.
Turned on sound control and fast charge both work. PC connection charges at 850mA instead of 500mA.
Set headphone to +3 and it's a lot. I'm concerned about the mic set to +24 default setting??? is that to high, haven't tested yet.
No idea on battery life but cores are nicely under control. Also gpu is very tame!

I should mention. D850 LOS-N

Thanks man. One thing tho, your kernel auditor doesn't work, I installed it after I flashed the kernel and tried opening it, and it just sits on a white screen. Any idea why its doing that? Thanks man in advance.
His kernel auduitor works well, you just have to give root in magisk.
---------- Post added at 09:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:21 PM ----------
I recommended uninstalling the old kernel auduitor, full reboot, then go into recovery to install the kernel.

mind if you share some of your profiles, preferably the ones that are better for battery

I will add profiles later with spectrum support, the default one is balanced, run xtd kernel adiutor and look what is set.

How are you undervolting to around 70mv? This may sound dumb, and I should know this...but where in the kernel auditor settings is the profile #4?
Hope you have a wonderful and safe Christmas.
Thanks in advance man.

In the cpu voltage settings.
For the zzmove profiles, go to cpu tunables and scroll down to profile number, tap it, delete the zero and enter 4
Hope you and everyone here have a Merry Christmas as well.

He mean't cpu governor tunables, look for profile profile_number and remove 0, replace it with it 4 (name is zzbat) i think.
