I thought I would start this thread to give Note 7 users living in the middle east (like myself currently residing in Riyadh, KSA) the opportunity to exchange information, share findings, experiences, news and latest developments on the Note 7 availability ETAs, prices, sales points, offers, problems, ban news, ROM updates.... etc and any good info to share.
Here in KSA ministry of commerce issued a recall forcing all distributers to a full refund to around 6200 units and advised all users to respond to the recall campaign with a deadline of 26th of September.
On the other hand no fixed date has been promised to relaunch the modified Note 7 in the markets, only responce from Samsung KSA is October.
Looking forward to hearing your POVs and your comments.

Egypt's current situation about Note 7
Here in Egypt, Sammy told me that my Note 7 ( Which I bought from Qatar ) is going to be replaced/exchanged with the new one as soon as possible. They asked me if I want to swap it with S7 Edge and take a voucher with the price difference or swap it with Note 4 until the new one (fixed one) released. I recommended Note 4 option but I'm waiting for them to call me to pick it up. Btw it is currently (since 1-9) in bootloop problem and overheating so I'm not using it anymore.
I know that I should hate Samsung for this but I like my Note 7 actually.
My model is SM-N930FD (Dual Sim).

It was all due to government involvement in day one as it was an official recall, if it was left up to the local distributors I would be next to you puzzled.

I guess you only have to wait for the replacement. Check out the official Samsung statement in this regard http://www.samsung.com/ae/galaxynote7-notice/ and you will have more information on the page.

Here in Beirut, Lebanon the official release date was on the 2nd of September. The recall was announced on the 1st of Sept. Thus the release was postponed. And I couldn't receive my Note 7 back then
Samsung contacted me and asked me whether I want a full refund, get an S7 Edge instead, or wait for the N7 and receive more gifts with the package. The initial package was a Note 7 + Gear Fit 2 + Media Subscription. The new package is all the mentioned in addition to a Free Wireless Charging Stand + 1.2 m cable + official S-View Standing Cover + an extra USB connector. Of course I have decided to get this additional package and keep my pre-order. The problem is that there is no specific dates for the new release. All what they mention is that it should be available in mid/end of October and days are passing very slowly.. until then...!
I have used the N7 for 10 days and it was flawless in all measures and dragged myself to the store to the handover, I cannot find a good substitute to the N7 and thus looking forward to repurchase it.

That's why I want a new Note 7 .. I'll never accept anything else.
By the way, today Samsung Egypt announced the recall on their official website (delayed as usual).
Samsung has already began exchanging the defected phones in the US.. And their response in the Middle East for releasing the phone again is in October. I am afraid that we receive now refurbished phones so that they profit as much as possible since they lost billions of dollars. I hope this won't be the case and that we receive brand new phones!

They didn't specify one. He told me it'll arrive here in 15 October and he wasn't sure about it.

I contacted samsung and they told me that the replacement Note7 will arrive in the 3 first weeks of October and i couldn't receive the note 4 as i is available in only 3 stores and all of them are far away from where i live ,do you have any other updates regarding this matter .

Yeah the Play Store is going to have stock well before then. When the Nexus 7 sold out they also quoted the same 3 week timeframe but in a week and a half they were back up and running.
They don't have the 32 gig one and just 16 gig .again I can't touch till Xmas (gf rules lol) .it doesn't bother me waiting and still have my galaxy Tab to hold me over till then

hope you're right, might try to stop in to Staples tomorrow and see what they have to say.
so now instead of 17-24 days the Staples website says 28-32 business days, thats 6 WEEKS!
So I ordered on Saturday. Now my order status has changed to cancelled. I called staples and they said this is the way they handle pre-sale items. Basically we are just being put on a waiting list. A second order number will be created once they get stock and we won't actually get the product until after we receive a phone call from staples verifying that we are still interested. Only then will the order be placed.
Can anyone who also went this route check their order status to see if it also says cancelled?

Grrr!! Mine has been cancelled as well Not sure now whether to reorder or forget it....
Update: Just reordered... Now Expected delivery date is 01/10/2013!!!! I hope Google gets more 32gigs available at the Playstore or Walmart gets stock before then.

Same thing happened to me, too. If I can find the N10 anywhere else, I'll buy from there and call to truly cancel my order with Staples.
When i called about my order the lady said I'm still good .My preorder said it originally at the latest arrive Dec 27 .The cancelled order showing will be replaced with the actual shipment order when they get the tablet.first she said 6 weeks then she "wait your order will arrive at your place Dec 15th ."I ordered mine the day they started preordering .

I was told when I contacted staples is that the schedualed delivery is just a rough estimate. We can expect to receive it before or on the date stated.

I ordered from Staples 2 days back. Ordered 16GB on Nov 16th, received today on 20th and again ordered 32GB today on Google Play. Once it is shipped I will cancel the Staples order. Wondering what to do with the 16GB

Calling staples back to cancel for real... stupidest process I've ever heard of... they cancel your pre-order... so dumb. I called complained... why is my order cancelled and they tell me I'd get another order number when it came in sent to me... WHAT???

Mine says that too and I ordered the 32GB Unlocked version, but according to the other HTC One M7 Section, someone talked on the phone with a rep and they said that it was a placeholder date. All phones release on the 18th unfortunately.

Nobody actually knows this for sure. It may very well ship Monday, it says so. That section is there for a reason, to tell you the ship date. Yes it could be a screw up but maybe not. This wouldn't be the first time that phoning a rep resulted in wrong info..
I'm being an optimist here because mine says the same thing lol. I just canceled my ATT pre-order because i'm afraid bootloader wont be unlockable like the OG ATT One X.

Maybe they are shipping to the US monday with the thought that they will arrive around the 15th-18th. What shipping option did you select?
It is possible that those of us that payed for next day shipping will get the device early. It wouldn't be the first time a device has fallen into the hands of customers before the official release date. HTC wouldn't have anything to lose, shipping the Dev edition early would just build hype for the phone anyway. I'm just sitting here praying I'm right..
will the unlocked version make rooting the locked version easier ?

Probably not cheezy. Why? because no hacks involved to unlock the dev version, they arent needed. Thats why its a dev version. Hopefully ATT will allow it and it wont have to be h4xed.
If you want the developer edition, it seems the forum you will be using mostly is the Internation/main forum.

Its the CDMA variant that is the oddball

If they are using standard FedEX/UPS ground and shipping from one of the major hubs (Kentucky or Tennessee) then that's only a easy 2-4 day trip to anywhere in the states. I doubt they are doing this...phone would be there way before the 15th

That's a pretty major difference if you're talking about porting ROMs from CDMA to gsm and vise versa
Seen it plenty of times before, its always the last thing fixed on CDMA phones. At least the HTC ones
It may be different with this phone since the hardware from each other is nearly identical, but I wouldn't get anyone's hopes up

Nah think about the nexus s. The nexus s and nexus s 4g were separated by about 3 files. The sgs3 series uses mostly the same files. There will likely be a patch that can flash all the needed ones.

Mine automatically came with overnight but I think it had to do with ordering through a business account.
You should get it a day early I believe. I think if I remember correctly I had regular shipping on s4 pre-order and got early so should be fine

Same here. I ordered slightly before noon on the 6th with a business account and I am still showing 10/10 with no email either. I'd expect I would be in one of the early batches.
Got mine pre-ordered this past weekend. Was able to get upgrade and keep unlimited data. Yipee! Verizon has said even though it was a software glitch, they were going to honor all upgraded that were placed and approved. Shows shipping by 10/10 but I've heard leaks that they will most likely ship earlier. I've had the Note since a week after release and it's been great. I still use it daily and it's still in great shape. If the Note 3 life is similar I will be quite happy.

Just ordered as well on mobile site. Wasn't 100% sure on colour, but I just quickly choose Graphite (64GB), a safe choice for the most part.
Black goes with everything, even if it does get boring having had no other colour on any phone I've ever purchased.

It's probably because you have a PO Box in your address. This happened to me but I just added a different address.

It defaults to my dummy US address I used sometime ago, which I cant remove for some reason, and the canadian address is greyed out. I do have a PO box in my address, so what address would I change it to?

I live in a small town so I'm able to put just my street address since UPS doesn't deliver to the post office.
Not sure if you are in the same boat..?

I live in Bahrain and have ordered a 64gb aluminum model from the US using a forwarding service. Did the same with nexus 4 three years back. Anyone else in the same boat?

I ordered us playstore, but cancelled because huawei announce that it will be launch in my country soon.

@M.Noury i see you live in saudi. Any word from huawei if they will be releasing the phone there. I am planning to cancel my order and buy it from here if it gets launched here before it ships to my US address.

I don't think that this is possible , you can check with clove.co.uk and Handtec.co.uk as they sell the international model

That's really nice. May I know how did you go through it and which forwarding service did you use? I would like to do the same as well but personally have no experience of using such.
@M.Noury Doesn't matter as the lte bands here are supported in the US model.only reason i would prefer to buy locally is the warranty

Ordered from the US store to ship here to Dubai.
This time Band 3 is supported on both the US and International models so not an issue.
Ordered from the US store, 128gb, black, to be shipped to Oman via aramex.
Also, Have a friend who works in huwawi here who is high in the chain of command, ordered 2 pcs of 128gb, he said he will bring them with him next week once he is back from his trip to HQ in China.
Fingers crossed so I might get mine next week.
