Joystick for car - Nexus 6 Accessories

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a simple bluetooth controller that has a few buttons on it so that I can switch through applications without touching the screen, e.g. from the back of a car.
I've seen some of the remotes such as this one here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bluetooth...998795?hash=item41adef0c0b:g:fPcAAOSwFnFV-xHg
but I'm skeptical of the quality for that price.
Would appreciate any links you can share with me.
Cheers,
Andy

ive got the same controller, i use it to change songs/volume, play pause music, answer calls while driving, its super useful out of the car too.
it has a mouse mode if you want to be able to control it from the back seat, it can be frustrating as im not sure if it has a button assigned to switching apps
battery lasts long enough to not be a problem - charges fast enough too.
again this item is super useful to have around as its a game controller too etc. for the price you cant go wrong. check aliexpress (like ebay/amazon but stupidly cheap because everything is sold direct from china) out as they might have it cheaper or a different version of it

cheers, I already have a bluetooth audio control for the car but wanted one for cycling between apps etc. I think it would be too fidly to use it as a mouse while driving?

I picked up the 8bitdobzero Bluetooth controller. It came with a keychain adapter and it works great
Bought mine off AliExpress for $9 took about 2 weeks to deliver. Amazon has it for $17

What are the *Must-Have* toys?

I've got my M2000, and the "ooooooh" factor is starting to wear off - I need toys, dammit!
<grin>
Seriously - I'm looking at a USB charger - anybody got any thoughts as to the best-value one in the UK? Also screen protectors? Any good? Or more hassle than they're worth?
Finally - is there a decent case that will allow me to carry the spare battery? Even just a case *for* the spare battery to stop it shorting out in my laptop bag would be nice - as it is, it's useless, as it's sod all use at home, and I can't really take it with me, short of shoving it into a freezer bag. Classy.
Can't help you much there. I definitely don't have too many extras.
When I got my Qtek 1010 (XDA), I couldn't get a fold-up keyboard fast enough. Unfortunately, the keyboard was more of a disappointment than anything else (some of the buttons, especially the space-bar, have to be pressed _just_ a little harder to be recognised).
Now, with my i-mate (XDA II), the only extras I have indugled in (although I still carry the keyboard with me) is a 512MB SD Card (which is also not so great, cause it's an AGFA, and it's SLOOOOOOW).
How about getting yourself a GPS kit?
For USB Sycn and Charge cables you can beat these :
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=115610&asource=116684
I have had these PPC Techs canples for a numnber of devices and they are very cool.
I can also recoomend this to go with it :
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=EXP_USB-CLA
Its a dongle to go in your car cigarette lighter that has a powered USB port in the top so you can run/charge anyt5hing that can take power via USB.
The two items above are a real go anywhere kit
If you want sometning with real wow factor, how about a laser projected virtual keyboard ?!

Are you looking in my shopping basket? They were the ones I'd added before I asked... I was hoping for somebody with some experiences of the extending charge cable - it could have been a very useful device or uselessly overcomplicated and fragile.
As for that laser keyboard...
eXpansys rock.
They are so good at this kind of thing.
I recently bought a bluetooth headset from them which turned out not to be very robust. The ease with whcih I was able to send it back and get a full refund (including carriage costs) was excellent.
The most amazing thing about that laser keyboard is that it's £20 cheaper than the foldup one.
And don't forget Satellite Navigation. That is the 'Must Have'!
Install MS Voice Command software, pretty cool you can then control whole device by Voice without any training!
And a 2.5mm to 3.5mm Stereo adaptor from Expansys will let you plug in some "Proper" headphones (I use Sony MDR-EX71SL's) you've then got an IPOD butt kicking MP3/WMA player.

I've installed Fonix, and it does indeed seem good. If only I could initiate a call from my bluetooth headset...

Umm, iPod butt-kicking? I've not found any 40Gb SD cards yet, and the battery life is mediocre enough without having it playing MP3s all day every day...
GPS - It's a thought. What's the good SatNav software to go for? TomTom still?
I just bought a Parot CK3300 BT hands free kit with built in GPS receiver.
Should get it on Tuesday.
Was referring to the Audio Quality on IPOD's not storage space.
Bitrate for Bitrate the IPOD media format is not a patch on WMA
TomTom3 Navigator has never got me lost yet?
only downside is the iffy address entry method but this can be rectified with a UK postcode add-on.
Checkpoint "Safety" Camera POI works a treat as well

DAMMIT!!!!!! I thought of that 3 years ago!!!! They stole my idea!! Anyway, What about bluetooth mice or sdio camera. There's also external batteries that charge the pda, check out mobileplanet. Asus put out a wifi laptop hard drive enclosure, add a hard drive, and hook it up to the external battery, and you've got yourself up to 40 gigs of external storage. (I haven't checked to see if it'll work yet or not, but I don't see why not) And of course there's always gps.
And speaking of far fetched accessories, anyone wanna help me write a usb hub driver for the ppc so I can hook up my digital camera and nomad jukebox3, and use the jukebox 3 as storage for my digital pictures.
Once we get the hub working, there's no end to the usb accessories we can get.
BTW I also saw sdio video cards to do powerpoint presentations while on the road, and video capture cards.
Last but not least on my shopping list is the bluetooth cassette adapter. It's a cassette tape looking bluetooth hq audio adapter, for home or vehicle use.
I also remember something about an fm transmitter, I think it's an fm transmitter, so you can listen to your mp3 through your radio. There also has to be someone who makes a tv receiver, and a radio receiver for these things, there just has to be.

I want some proper headphones too, however if it means trying to swap them with the headset when a call comes in... no good. Any suggestions on a better headset/earphone combo?

Bluetooth stereo.. very sceptical.
- Can I stream audio from a mobile phone or pda using Bluetooth?
The Audio Player can be used to receive streamed audio if the mobile phone supports A2DP (advanced audio distribution profile). Some phone can stream audio to the headphones in mono.

[Q]Photon Compatible Stereo Receiver??

Hi Everyone
So I'm looking to move out of the stone age and get a receiver unit for my car that has BT and some other bells and whistles if not too costly. My first problem is that when I look on manufacturers' websites, none of them have the MoPho on their compatibility lists. Maybe it's just an oversight, I don't know.
Does anyone out there have a stereo in their car that rocks the Photon? I'm open to suggestions. I see some are out that even have more Android control. Not sure what I'm looking for overall, but I definitely can't stomach becoming an Apple Fanboy. Thanks guys.
Mine is just a basic Sony receiver with BT, USB, and aux port and it works with the photon just fine. On the box it says it was for iphone /iPod and nowhere on the site, manual, or box does it say anything about android or photon. It was on sell at best buy for like 80 bucks from 110.

I just bought and installed a JVC with built-in Bluetooth, and it works great. Can control Pandora through the receiver, and can skip tracks in Google Play Music through the receiver. It also rings through the speakers and shows the caller's number on the receiver's display. I have yet to find anything it says it can do that turns out not to be compatible with the Photon. It was $139.99 on Crutchfield, and they threw in all the installation materials for free (dash kit, wiring harness, antenna adapter, and instructions). Best Buy wanted to charge me WAY too much for all that and installation, so I told them to screw off and did it myself.
Just as others said, any with BT built in should be ok. I didnt want to spend 160 though. I got a jvc w/ front usb and aux. And ipod controller for 90. Im cool with it.

Pioneer AVH-P5200BT DVD Player with Cardock (that I dont use most of the time) Works PERFECT with voice dialing, receiving calls. My only initial problem, I got it installed at BestBuy and it's illegal in PA to drive and watch DVD unless Parking Brake is applied. Quick trip to the hood....The rear player works with it too!!!
This is a tough call if you ask me. The screen is up when I use radio, to make calls, ect. How do you know, expecially if I tilt up some, what I'm doing?
Oh, originally $700.00 but I got off e-bay for $310.00.

Best Car Dock?

Looking for the best car dock for the 7.7. I normally carry the tab without a case, so that's not an issue. Looking for a charger, and audio out.
Any suggestions?
I have the original car dok samsung but it has no audio out... so i dont think you can find one with audio out...
I'm using one of these:
...ok, apparently I can't post links because I'm a noob but go google dealextreme, go there and then search for sku 80640
I bought it for my original 7" Galaxy Tab but it still works with my 7.7. It pretty much frees you up to use any car mount you want.
I have this one. Quite happy with it and its cheap

CELLY FLEX9 is universal (phones, tablets) and very very good....just take care about a litter fragile paw.....but if you are careful you don't have any problem
if you use a standard mount with no audio out, consider this for BT audio out. i have used one for 2-3 years and love it

My car didn't come w/ Bluetooth, so i bought 2 things: 1. the iPhone/iPod 30-pin auxiliary adapter for my head unit 2. a Sprint FIPO Anycom Bluetooth to 30-pin adapter.
With these 2 I was able to get the tablet to talk to the head unit via bluetooth, but also got the benefit of the car steering wheel forward/back buttons to control the music player on the tablet.
It's pretty hard to find that Anycom adapter by now, but someone on another thread pointed out a $10 replacement on Dealextreme: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/ultra-...-for-apple-30pin-speaker-white-106950?item=10

Car dock?

Has anyone found a good car dock for the 4g? I want to find something so I can position the phone on the lower console and use Google maps/navigate for my GPS, and have it charging as well. The dock needs to allow access to the headphone jack, as I also plan to connect to car stereo aux input. The beats audio sounds better than the car CD player.
Ideally, the dock should be really easy to put in/take out the phone (without risk of damaging the usb port). Also prefer to not need adhesive to mount it if possible

Verizon sells a car dock. http://www.verizonwireless.com/ibolt-car-mount.shtml $30
It's the only one I have seen available so far. Interestingly enough it is cheaper through Verizon then on any other site ($35).

Thanks. Since the price was actually less at the VZW store, I went in tonight to look at one to see if my phone would fit in the dock with my TPU case on the phone . The phone fit okay - well enough to dock properly without stressing the connector. Since the sales tax would be less than the $5 shipping on Amazon, I went for it. Much to my surprise, I got a $7 discount, making it $25 out the door. Very happy with the dock so far. Now to figure out best mounting location in car and run the cables.

Cool. I've been thinking about getting one myself. Please let us know your thoughts after using it for a bit as I'm sure it could help others decide to get one or not. Will probably help me as well.
I've got the iBolt dock on the way, which I think is the same one you're talking about. Used one with my Rezound too and it worked well.

The dock is the Verizon branded iBolt car dock.
My initial impression is still positive despite not finding the perfect spot for it in the car yet. Yesterday, I simply stuck it to the windshield, but I prefer it lower.
Pros
Made just for the Dinc4g. Fits fine with my TPU case, and it also has an insert for using without a case. Also works with the Seideo Active case.
Appears to be of good quality
Power plug in the back with same micro-usb connector
Phone immediately recognizes it is docked and switches to landscape for everything
Automatically switches to Car mode, All icons are big and driving friendly
Can use Google Navigation (I disabled VZNav app)
Google Navigation plays well with Google Music, automatically lowering the volume when turn directions are given
Car app can be set to automatically turn on and connect bluetooth devices when docked (works well)
Cons
Does not come with charger, you must supply your own
Blue power indicator LED is very bright
Car app display is always on (but if you exit the Car app, the screen will time out normally)
Car mode uses their Music app, which is oddly not GPS voice friendly. I have not found a setting to change which music app it will use
No lead in for the in-dock connector. Must be careful when inserting and removing to not bend it
Questions
The HTC Car app does not have a lot of useful settings, mostly bluetooth related
(I am not currently using any bluetooth devices, and am using a patch cord to stereo aux input)
Edit: I am now using the HTC A100 CarClip for streaming audio to stereo. Works great, but doesn't work for phone calls, which is truly annoying.
Gripes unrelated to dock
Google Maps/Navigate at some point removed the separate Nav volume control. With Google Music, the Nav app will automatically lower the volume while the GPS voice talks. However, listening at a normal volume in gMusic, the GPS voice is way too quiet. Using the HTC Car built-in music app, the music does not lower or pause, but the Nav voice is at about the same level. While testing GPS/Music, I got a call and the in-call volume is super quiet and the nav voice does not pause during the call and it's super loud compared to the in-call volume...
I will update the above lists as I find things

Game Controller

Does anyone know of any decent game controllers for the 6T? I like the ones that fit around the phone and I've seen a couple of mentions of the Flydigi Wee over at Reddit, but I can't seem to find any in the UK. What do you guys use?
I don't have any that fit around the phone, but I have a few 8BitDo controllers. High quality, great battery life, and good feel.
I have one of them that I use on my shield. Was hoping for something a bit more portable tho, so you don't have to then hold the phone.
I've been using the steelseries status xl. Also bought the clip direct from them. Works great and holds the phone pretty securely.
I have a steelseries stratus xl but it lags on input when I comes to games. Now I just use my Xbox one controller that has Bluetooth and it's amazing.
I've decided to go for the Wee2T after watching a lot of reviews on it. It's coming from China so no idea when I'll receive it, but I'll post some pics when I have it.
OK...so I recieved the controller over the weekend and after some tinkering have got it working. The only issue I have is that with the latest version of the app I can't seem to remap the keys. There should be a pull out menu that overlays games, but this is missing. If I use an older version of the app then it seems to work fine. I'll take some pics tonight and post; the actual controller works really well.
I use the 8bitso zero keychain Bluetooth controller. It's on my keychain with my home and car keys and works perfectly for short bursts of snes or Genesis or tg16

Just buy a Bluetooth enabled Xbox one controller. Works just like console. I play fortnite on it with no input lag whatsoever.
Gamesir is the best you will find. All you have to do is decide if you like the Playstation or Xbox controller
The Gamevice for the Pixel phones works great with the 6T. Can't use it with a case though.
I play with Dualshock 4, it has the best analog accuracy compared to other bluetooth controller like gamesir and ipega (and also feels better when I hold it). It can run over Bluetooth and OTG cable. But you need some tinkering to fix the input lag on Bluetooth. But I always play on OTG cable since I want the connection to be more stable. I also use DOBE Dualshock 4 Mount to attach my phone to the Dualshock 4 so I can play anywhere anytime.
But can it play COD mobile ?

I'm using DS4 controller with cheap phone holder that clips on dualshock. It works really good and this holder cost under 2 dollars.
xbox1 (the one with bluetooth) and a clip for 3$. Its rock solid
