Note 7 sales in Europe to resume by end of November - Note 7 Guides, News, & Discussion

Europeans who have yet to buy the phablet will be able to do that in by late November, a Samsung official stated recently.

As much as I want to don't think I'll hold out that long. I can handle Oct but we will see I hope the reports are wrong

Me too cause i sold my S6 i thought to get it in september. But sempteber seems to be just for recall's and i hoped for a eary october release...
Now they say end of November wich is crazy cause im using a galaxy S4 wich i borrowed from a friend and its horrible compared to my S6 and i have to charge it like 5x a day and its wifi isnt working so end of November is a no go for me eather early October or im thinking of S7edge or One+3

It looks like your post is now possibly incorrect, it has now been confirmed that the release date for the Note 7 in the UK is October 28th, I imagine this would be the same for the other major economies of Europe. This tallies up too with the pre-order I made with Carphone Warehouse, they also stated 28th October a few days back.
Here is an article that is now reporting that Samsung have announced an official date for the UK, i expect more related articles will pop up shortly.
http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/samsung-galaxy-note-7-new-uk-release-date-exchange

Ye dates change every day Imo a lot of copy&paste journalism at the moment :/ Ant a lot of them write **** without proof. All those S7E burning up too, about that new N7 burning up in China... And now this EU release date. Anyway I preordered on AUG17 in EU and should get it on OCT4... if I'am not getting I'am going to user rights and suing the **** out of Samsung and my seller...

SAMMOBILE said 28 october
even so, 28 october is still damn far
probably voadafone, orange and others will take most of them and the leftovers will be available for the public

Link? Sales in Korea start October 1st. I'd expect sales in the U.S. to resume as soon as the initial exchanges are fulfilled - let's say the first or second week of October. End of November sounds kind of inaccurate for a market as important as the EU. Of the 2.5M phones "sold" a large portion never left the distribution channel. Meaning they were never opened and put in consumer's hands. Apparently Samsung's x-raying those phones to inspect their batteries and if good they'll be redistributed. I think mine's one of those because its build date was 9/7 in Korea and the box had been opened and resealed twice. If 1M of the unopened recalled phones can be determined safe and put back in the retail channel than getting inventory on the market should be fairly quick.

Amazon.de orders delayed?

Ive just got an email from Amazon.de saying my order placed at the beginning of this week has been delayed due to bottlenecks in production and may take a further one to two weeks to deliver!
Has anyone else got the same?
..and I should say I ordered white.
it could be that amazon has placed 2 orders with the manufacturer.
when i preordered mine on the 9th of may, it still says delivery on the 30th. i spoke on the phone with amazon.co.uk and they told me that they have delivery of an amount of handsets for the 29th and then a bigger delivery on the 6th of june. So i presume is whoever managed to order one early on gets it a bit sooner, and if the stock for delivery on the 30th is gone, then that is why your's might come a bit later.
Amazon.co.uk website is still offering preorders for delivery on the 30th of both blue and white.

I got a mail from Amazon today that the delivery COULD be delayed by 1 to 2 week.
On the status page it still says delivery on 30.5.
So I hope for the best.
Edit: I pre-ordered the blue one at amazon.de on 24.4

i suppose that is from the german amazon.de? right?
actually here is a note from amazon.co.uk when you visit the page that sells the phone:
Note on Samsung Galaxy SIII Availability:
We have been made aware that there may be a slight delay in the arrival of some Samsung Galaxy SIII stock into the UK. We will keep you informed of any new information as soon as we receive it. All pre-orders will be fulfilled on a first-come first-served basis and we will not charge your credit card until we are ready to ship your order.
lets hope its delivered as expected!!!
I got an email May 10th saying mine will be delivered June, between 4 and 9, no more emails since
I pre-ordered the white one on May 12th on Amazon.de, and haven't gotten the email yet. Spoke with Amazon reps some of them said that this is a "technical error" (that I haven't received the email), others have said that it might be dispatched, but that they "don't want to make any false promises". My status page still says 30.5.
There already was a discussion on this topic in Galaxy S III Pricing, Availability and Pre Order Thread
There are quite a few in the amazon forum reporting that amazon told them upon request (like the chat) that there is a delay of one or two weeks and that the displayed delivery date of the order may not be correct.
I am one of those.
I have read at least one updating the shipping method to the fast one and this caused the delivery date to be updated to about two weeks later.
According to most personal of amazon.de this delay includes anyone who did a preorder.
We'll have to wait until next week to find out if this is true.
What a chaos!!!11Eleven
If I look at the amazon.de page at this moment, you can order the blue and white version for 621,- € with delivery at 31.5

Yes, but this one is not sold by Amazon directly, but by Notebook.de. Amazon still sells at 587 EUR with 1-3 weeks delay.
Does anyone know where I could buy the phone locally in Austria (Vienna)? Saturn doesn't have it on the website, neither does MediaMarkt.
Nope.
It looks like the delay is not restricted to amazon but most or all vendors.
I don't think you'll get lucky with a normal vendor.
Don't expect saturn or mediamarkt to have them any time soon, the austrian ones are always slow on picking up new stuff compared to the german ones.
Maybe there is more luck with a mobile operator, but I did not check on this since I am not interested in buying it with a contract and have it sim-locked (if you are willing, then the offer from orange.at might be a good one).
But hey, it's 'just' supposted to be one or two weeks.
Drink tea, relax and wait (yea I know, it's hard, i'm just trying on that myself)

Yeah I figured I'll tour Orange, T-Mobile, and Drei tomorrow and see if I could get one without contract, though I doubt it. Still waiting for news from Amazon about the definite delay...
I'm gonna wait until the madness does down and stock aplenty so i can get one within a week
Just got another email, delayed to 19 - 26 June
I also got an email from Amazon.de today. I pre-ordered a pebble blue S3 on the 15th of May. It now says that it will be delivered from June, 14th to June, 15th.
So that's another 2 weeks of waiting.
Same here. This is a bit frustrating. Samsung should've addressed this problem earlier, how could they let this slip? After all, this is one of the most anticipated phones of the year.

Galaxy Note ICS update coming June 22nd

I talked to a Samsung employee that had an S3 and told me they are supposed to release it June 22nd. But we will see.
Here's me not holding my breath.

That'd be nice, but for some reason i'm not feeling too optimistic about it.
all these ICS post without any proof are starting to get annoying. There is alerady tons of threads with people making claims they talked to someone at samsung, a rep, a secretary, anyone, and they have all been false. Dont get me wront i would love ICS to finally be released, but only because the kernal will be released soon after. im happy with UCLE3 right now. Also ICS getting pushed would have more to do with AT&T then samsung.

Updates get released when they are ready. This is not the launching of a new OS or IOS when they say what date it will be available so people know. Updates are not set on till a certain date then released, they are released when they are ready and its that simple. They can give estimates on the month of release based on bug fixes and how stable the rom is based on testing but I promise NO CARRIER or SAMSUNG (HTC MOTOROLA APPLE ETC) will ever sit on a finished update PERIOD! Its bad for business to sit on an update, but I know updates are slow but these companies didn't come this far by being stupid and not giving the majority of their customers what they want. They may be slow at giving it to us but they still deliver in the end. Nobody, I repeat nobody except AT&T and the people making the software update can tell anyone when the update will be released and the way they tell you is by pushing a notification to your unrooted stock Gingerbread Galaxy Note. Like the man above said these threads about releasing the update are getting outta control especially when they keep getting posted by people that obviously have no clue how the update process goes, when they know, we know, and that's exactly how it works. Do people really think these multi BILLION $$$$ companies carry on like teenagers and keep secrets and gossip about something as meaningless as an ICS update? The 22nd isn't even a Sunday LOL (people in the know, know what this means). OH I forgot, how does having an S3 make this Samsung employee qualified to know when updates will be released? Was he working at the AT&T booth in the mall or the local AT&T store? Most of these guys/girls cannot even handle a problem without calling the real AT&T for help so trust me the guy you talked to knows nothing.

TELUS: JULY 13
TELUS is very consistant at communicating the “expected in market date” of when various devices will receive an OS update. Right on track is a refresh of their “Device OS Upgrade schedule” and those with the Samsung Galaxy Note, BlackBerry Bold 9790, Nokia Lumia 800, and LG Optimus 7 can be excited as your devices will be graced with a new OS soon:
Android:
HTC Desire HD OS 4.0 “Expected in market date” is July 25th
LG Optimus LTE OS 4.0 “Expected in market date” is Mid July
Samsung Galaxy Note OS 4.0 “Expected in market date” is July 13th
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 OS 4.0 “Expected in market date” is Late July
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 OS 4.0 “Expected in market date” is August (was previously Late July)

I hate to pull a 'well actually', but Im going to do so.
Carriers are well known for sitting on updates even tho they are ready. There are a number of reasons for doing so, marketing being a big reason. By controlling WHEN a release is pushed, they can market other phone models or actually advertise big OS updates, often times making the carrier sound like THEY actually did all the hard work and their customers should appreciate the OS update as a good deed by the carrier.
Anyone remember the Samsung Captivate? Gingerbread? How long did it take to come to the Captivate 'officially'? The rumour, although no one for sure can say, is that AT&T sat on this update and decided never to release it. Samsung then decided to take it upon themselves and provide the update via Kies Mini (PC software with the SOLE purpose of updating firmware via your PC rather than the carrier delivering said update). It was shortly after this that AT&T began making the update available over the air, after Samsung forced their hand. Likely, all of this was to push Captivate users to buy a newer model phone with LTE (which means higher priced data plans).
AT&T typically pushes firmware updates and new phone releases, both on Sundays. Dont ask me why, I just know that is what they 'usually' do. However, to give the benefit of the doubt, maybe they are planning something different.
Anyone remember the Lumia 900 (flagship Windows Phone 7 made by Nokia)? This was announced as officially coming out on Easter Sunday (Easter in the states) but since AT&T wasnt actually open, they had to sell it on Monday. Someone at AT&T forgot to look at a calendar.
The S3 is supposed to be available at AT&T June 18th according to this article (end of the second to last paragraph in the first section). This article was written today.
The Galaxy S3 was intended to be released at the end of June along with its competitors AT&T, which will get the new phone on June 18, and Sprint, which has a release date of June 21.

http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/352985/20120616/samsung-galaxy-s3-release-date-verizon-canada.htm
Read the entire paragraph, for the context of the use of the word 'intended'.
Now, the 18th falls on a Monday which has me scratching my head because everything being reported is simply not the way AT&T usually does things. Even more funny is, no one seems to actually KNOW when the S3 will be available and if the ICS update is supposed to coincide with the release of the S3 (again, quite frankly, I dont know why AT&T would care, they are both not really related to each other), and no one knows when the S3 will be available for AT&T customers, how can anyone determine the release of this firmware?
So, my opinion? We are looking at either June 17th (tomorrow) or June 24th if Samsung and AT&T keep their promise of Q2. BUT, I have heard that ICS was delayed for all carriers because Samsung is fixing a kernel bug, code that exists in ALL variants of the Note that caused hard bricks when flashing roms on variants containing the quadcore processors found in the international Note. I know the way I said that was likely confusing so let me clarify. The kernel code exists in all variants of the Note. However, the code does NOT affect the dual core processor variants of the Note. But Samsung is fixing said code in all variants of the Note, their are a number of potential reasons why that I wont go into here. This bug was fixed back at the end of May but this ate into the carrier testing period so it was delayed. I could totally be wrong here but Im guessing July 1rst, which would be close enough to Q2 that I doubt anyone could really ***** about it not being in Q2.
One other comment...
An official ICS update means source code!. Many of us are waiting for an official update not specifically so we can flash it but so that we can begin to see some real rom development start happening beyond themes and generic tweaks. Not that I dont appreciate the work that has already been done but I am really curious as to what the Note is 'really' capable of.
My rep told me the 20th.
My rep knows more then your rep.

WiFi version sold out in the UK?

Ive just saved enough money for the WiFi version and wnet to the Sony site to buy it and now theres no mention of it. You can only buy tye Lte version for £579. Is it sold out or have they scrapped it? Also the release date has been pushed back a week for the Lte version.
strange
Hey there,
I actually ordered thevwifi version myself back in april.
It was expected to ship on the 27th of May. Then I received an email on the 26th saying that due to "unfortunate" delay they are expected to ship on the 5th of June.
I called sony and they told me that it is probably a problem of availability..... I was pissed off on the fact that I ordered it about 2 months before the shipment period.
Yet I am starting to think that they are actually trying to push the LTE version more on the pre sales hence why they removed it from the pre orders page ans replaced it with the LTE version.
But I still cannot believe why would every tablet delivery should be delayed instead of just starting to ship those which are already available. It can only lead me to assume there is some fault with them or they want to install further stuff and reship them to the UK.
Either way it is very strange from sony... Any other opinions on the matter or anyone who knows more??
Not sure whats going on as its not available to buy at all on the sony uk website now. Could be to do with Microsoft and preinstalled office apps which was in the news lately. Fed up with it so i bought a 128gb surface 3 with keyboard for the same price as the lte z4 tablet. Im a Sony fan and absolutely everything electronic i own is by them (PC/z3 tablet/smartwatch 3/z3 phone/ps4/Headset etc but ive had enough now, year after year with promised release dates then it gets knocked back and support getting worse. Switching to MS now.
Actually I called them again yesterday and they confirmed to me that the wifi version is sold out that is why it has been temporarily removed from the website.
Thanks, they could have made people aware on the website, after all being sold out is something to brag about!

Galaxy Note 7 Officially Recalled by U.S. - Sept 21st Replacements

The federal agency says Note 7 users can get a free replacement from Samsung, their wireless carrier or the retail outlet where the bought the phone. The new Note 7 will be in most stores no later than Sept. 21, Samsung said Thursday.
http://money.cnn.com/2016/09/15/technology/samsung-galaxy-note-7-cpsc/index.html
Looks like what others have been saying is true, that we'd get them very soon even with the government stepping in. This is good news. Now maybe things can mostly start getting back to normal. Ready for this to be over personally.
Yeah, I can't wait to get my replacement so Note7 and I can finally get started on our future together

UK Delivery Thread

After jealously watching all the yanks get their phones over the last week or so, it's almost launch time for blighty !
So, here's the obligatory delivery thread where we can all optimistically and wildly speculate on our deliveries along with celebrating arrivals.
So I'll kick this off:
Vodafone pre order for Pixel 3 Black 64gb. I ordered on 12th.
So far: Initial order number tracking code wouldn't work on site. Then last night I got another bunch of texts and emails with a new tracking code that shows order confirmed and getting it ready. However one text does state my order will be shipped for launch date , so I'm not getting too excited.
A chat agent did tell me their stock arriving 26th so that's possibly why my status has changed as they have stock and are basically waiting until they are allowed to send it.
I'm going to assume they have plenty of stock as a few days ago they reduced the contract prices by £4 for the pixel 3, which may indicate low pre sales.
So I'm really hoping for a Nov 1st delivery !
Ordered mine on 9th October from the Google store. The original shipping date said 5-6th November but I got an email earlier in the week saying it will be 30-31st October.

That's sounds great, before official UK launch date !
I'm also hoping mine gets shipped a little early, but currently I'd settle for Nov 1st as I have no idea where I am in the Vodafone order queue. I'm also glad Vodafone use DPD for delivery so I'll get a one hour delivery window , which means I can pop home from work to wait for it
Fingers crossed! I don't know who the Google store uses to deliver but I'm hoping it can be left with a neighbor if it comes Tuesday as I'm away.

I've never bought direct from Google since my Nexus 4, when their logistics was exported as useless. They ended up seemingly shipping randomly, with later orders going out before early ones.
A bunch of us from XDA bombarded the then head of Google UK with complaints on his Google + feed and he issued a statement apologising and got it looked at and sorted for us. I still don't trust them.

I've a sneaking suspicion that they just don't "get" logistics, and struggle a little with the concept of a world outside the USA.
I've been buying from them since the Nexus One, and I can't recall a single time the initial launch deliveries ran smoothly.
Talking of non US - wonder what we'll need to do to get call screening to work. Hopefully just change language to US English. Or even better would be a magical module and I'll happily root the phone then.

Yeah man really excited to be honest. I know on paper it's not that big of an upgrade, but the improved screen/camera is enough reason for me. Sure, it sounds like there's a few issues here and there, much like there was with the 2XL last year, but I still loved the phone and getting those sweet updates on the first Monday of every month.

The John Lewis phones are SIM free and the same as supplied by Google, with the original manufacturer warranty + JL's 2 year guarantee on top. It means any issues / RMAs can go via JL customer service, which is something Google have never been particularly good at IMHO.

Sorry man, I was meaning was your order directly from the google store, which you've now answered! Don't blame you for switching to JL - fingers crossed you get the device on 1st
Google don't seem to have a great track record with stocking phones/logistics in general! Although this year does seem the best so far, providing we do get the phones as expected on UK launch date (1st). That's only just over 3 weeks since the keynote. I remember last year the keynote was October 4th and I didn't actually get my phone delivered until 14th November (sim-free directly from Carphone Warehouse).

No worries.
I've ordered direct from Google on launch most years since the Nexus One, but I've never had despatch dates moved around so much before. It made me twitchy this time around.
I'm not really too bothered about delivery on release day, but I do want solid customer service. JL have been very good to me over the years and have clear channels of communication and escalation.
Here's hoping it works out as planned for the both of us.
And don't forget to buy a case !
I've just ordered my usual, a Spigen clear gel case. Always a good fit, subtle so as not to ruin phones good looks, great corner protection and with slight lip to protect from screen down falls.
