I have decided to update this and add some more that aren't just co-op, but anything multiplayer. If any of you have any suggestions for other games that have similar functionality, please feel free to post them below!
All of the games below are local multiplayer, meaning you don't have to have a second device, or play online. A few tips to remember when playing Android multiple controller games. Android looks for any input device and will assign it as a controller. So if you have a mouse plugged in, or anything else in the USB port, some of the games will have difficulty recognizing the second controller. Another thing to remember is that it usually makes whichever player clicks on the app 1st, the 1st player. 1st player will usually have control in menus, and often times in games like JuJu, the screen will follow player 1 predominantly.
Without further ado, and in no particular order:
PAID
Stikbold! $9.99 - This game is great as a cooperative game, and it can be fun as a competitive game. It runs flawlessly on the SATV. You can play through the story together, or you can compete together against "bots" in single matches. You can also go one on one, or add bots to your respective teams and play against each other. It falls into a category of a fully developed game with no BS. Therefore they have to charge more to cover their development.
JuJu $9.49- JuJu is a fun side scrolling run and jump type game. Something like Mario Bro's Wii, your partner will even end up in a bubble if they die or fall behind. It's basic enough that kids can catch on quickly, but still fun and challenging for an adult. You get fun new abilities as you go. When I bought it was on sale for about half this price. I might keep an eye on it, as it may go on sale again.
Age of Zombies $.99- This game was a little too violent for the family, it's on here because some people might be more relaxed about it. It is fun, and for $.99 it's a good time.
Never Alone $4.99 - This is such a unique game. It has these beautiful videos taken right from native Alaskan people and culture. It's truly a cultural experience to play this game, but it's also a great co-op game. The girl and the fox have unique abilities, and it's great at building teamwork, but doesn't leave you frustrated. I highly recommend it.
Chariot $7.49 - This game is too expensive for me to wholeheartedly recommend. It's a decent game, and I would pay $3 for it. The voice acting is great, but the puzzles can be frustrating, and you really have to know how to work as a team. But it is a co-op multiplayer, and I did buy it and play it, so I put it here.
Meltdown $6.36 - There is a free version of this game in the play store, but the one that works on Android TV is $6. In my opinion, it's well worth it, it was super fun to play together. This one would be great for 4 players. The more you have, the easier it is. Saving up coins to unlock other characters is something that keeps you busy and gives you a goal to look forward too. The "arcade" mode, which is what you have to play for local multiplayer, isn't as developed as normal mode, but it's still worth the money in my opinion.
Trine 2 $4.95 - This one is a fun puzzle adventure. What makes it appealing is the different characters using their unique skill set to solve challenges as a team. The game is similar to an old SNES/Genesis game called Lost Vikings. If you remember/liked that, you will love this.
Riptide GP 2 $1.99 - I recently downloaded this one. It's fun but simple. It is a slow grind to get enough money to buy the good waverunners. The fun comes in leveling up which allows you to learn new skills/tricks. These tricks give you more boost and make it easier to win races. This is one of the few that supports 4 controllers, so if you happen to have 4, it's fun for the whole family.
Octodad $4.99 - This game kept popping up on the Shield carousel, and I kept ignoring it, because it looked so stupid. I finally caved because my son kept asking and I bought it. I didn't know it was actually multiplayer co-op! One of you can control certain appendages, like the legs, and the other can control the arms. The game is all about convincing people you aren't an octopus. The difficulty is you move like an octopus. The dialogue and voice acting is AAA, and the game is actually hilarious. But more than that, it's not just a silly time waster, it's a good challenging puzzle type game. It's great fun as a co-op campaign.
Heroes of Loot 2 $3.99 - This is a fun little dungeon crawler that can be played with 2 controllers. Gameplay gets a little repetitive. The graphics are poor by design, but they do give you that nostalgic feeling. Each player chooses 2 characters that they switch between to use their different abilities. If you like the old school top down games, this is a good one.
OUYA collection $4.99 - $7.99 - The OUYA (may it rest in peace), actually had a great focus on this type of gaming. So many of the games developed for it seemed to be all about playing with a friend or 3. The only one in this collection that's actually co-op is Mercenary Kings. But, the only one that doesn't support multiple controllers is I am Bread. So I figured I would throw the whole list here.
Siegecraft Commander $9.99 - A lovely real time strategy game. This is an homage to the original Warcraft. Great voice acting, game play, and graphics. I can't remember exactly how cooperative it is, but I do know it supports multiple controllers and makes for a fun family game night.
Tennis Champs $2.99 - Someone in the thread mentioned Tennis Champs. This is a remake of a classic Amiga game. It's fairly simple in it's mechanics and gameplay. I personally would rather load up Mario Tennis for N64 using MupenFZ. But you can play some doubles on the same team, or play competitively against the computer in this.
Killing Floor: Calamity $4.99 - Another one that is too violent for my purposes. But it's a top down zombie shooter with plenty of blood and destruction. It can be played with two players cooperatively.
Jackbox Party 1-4 $24.99 - I haven't actually played these games, but those that have say this is a great set of party games. I believe you can use controllers, but I do know some of the games have people use their own mobile device to interact. In any case, it is a game where multiple people play together in the same room.
Cublast HD $4.99 - I have no personal experience playing this, but I intend to buy this one. It looks like it could be a lot of fun with two people. It's an arcade puzzler with a level editor. The two player mode looks to be a sort of competitive co-op. You can download maps created by internet users as well.
NEO TURF MASTERS $3.49 - A retro arcade golf game. You could play this through an emulator, but this is definitely easier, and probably worth the $ if you are into this game. It's hot seat multiplayer, not simultaneous, but could be great fun with a friend.
Hotlap Heroes $3.99 - A top down arcade racing game. It reminds me of a game I used to play in the arcade that had a red, yellow, and blue steering wheel called "Off Road".
Ice Rage Hockey $1.99 - Very simple hockey game, but surprisingly fun. It's probably just slightly more complex than an air hockey simulator might be, because it's just one on one. But, if you buy this for Android TV, it will also work on your phone or tablet for 2 player because the virtual controls are simple enough to fit both on a screen.
Ultimate Chicken Horse $11.99 - This is a console quality game. You and your friends build an obstacle course together. The objective is to build something that you can pass, but they can't. It's a bit of a slow start as far as competitive games go, but once the course starts to take shape, you can see the strategic masterminds start to stand out. It's pricey for Android, I think it's fair for the amount of development that went into it.
Pix the Cat $4.99 - This is without question my FAVORITE competitive local multiplayer game available for Android! Playing pix with 4 people is insanely fun! The gameplay is fast paced, strategic, but also very easy to learn and get good at. I have had matchups between 3 grown men and my 10 year old niece where she was able to hold her own. I highly recommend this one for a party game. As an added bonus there is a single player mode. The two modes might as well be completely different games, so you could say you are getting a 2 for 1.
Natural Soccer $3.49 - I haven't personally played this one, but the description on the Nvidia store says it supports 4 controllers for local play. The reviews aren't great, but for what it's worth most of those seem to be coming from mobile screens, and what negative reviews there are, the developer seems to be very responsive to.
FREE or Ad Supported
Neon Shadow - This is a first person shooter. What makes this great for me is it's not terribly violent. You are killing artificial intelligence robots, there is no blood, just explosions, and the multiplayer split-screen works really well. Levels may be a little repetitive, but it's super fun. I don't know how intrusive the ad's are because I paid for this app when it wasn't ad-supported.
Beach Buggy Racing This is hands down one of my favorites. I believe you do have to spend $5 or so to unlock multiplayer mode. But this game is well worth it. If you ever liked any kart racing games, this is an incredibly fun racing game that will give you hours of enjoyment. The truth is it's not really co-op, because you aren't a team. But you aren't really against each other exclusively, since you are trying to beat all the other racers. I find it's a great one to play with a friend.
Badland - Fun game that is very simple to play, but difficult to master. It supports up to 4 players, but it's really fun with just 2. This one again is a game with such an easy learning curve, anyone in the family can play.
Bombsquad - This one is harder to pickup out of the gate. But it's a very fully developed game. It wasn't something a developer threw together in a few weeks. It has great physics, and complex gameplay. It is a freemium model and I can't remember if you have to pay to unlock multiplayer. If so, then I categorized it wrong. It requires a lot of teamwork to pass the challenges because they can be difficult and you can easily end up bombing your teammate.
Duck Game Demo - I love this game. It's a battle arena game. But, it's not found on the play store, and I feel like it deserves an audience. Special thanks to shadywhere and a list of games from him, on Reddit. The whole demo thing will make you feel like you are really missing out. But don't worry, the full version isn't that much more amazing. The demo still provides plenty of free fun.
Stickman Soccer 2016 - This one is a really simple, but well done soccer game. You can join the same team, which makes it much easier to set up crosses into the box. It's ad supported, but very smooth for a free game.
Stickman Soccer 2018 - This is an improvement on gameplay from 2016, but it turned into a cash grab. It's trying to mimic FIFA Ultimate Team and get you to spend money upgrading your squad. The multi-controller mode is tucked away in quick match. You may have to pay for an IAP to unlock it, I can't remember. But, I think the minnimum is $2 and it removes the ads, and might unlock the game. It also only supports 2 controllers now and not 4, but the gameplay is still excellent. If you can ignore all the obnoxious stuff.
Dead Effect 2 - I haven't actually played this one, and there seems to be some sort of trick to unlocking multiplayer https://steamcommunity.com/app/394760/discussions/0/412447331646891466/? I don't know if this is applicable to Android as well as the Steam version. This one is unfortunately too violent for my family console. If someone wants to give it a run and report back with results, I will update the thread.
Sky Force Anniversary - This is a classic arcade blaster. It's fun, but can be a little repetitive. The upgrading system is a little complicated. But it is the type of game that's a lot more fun with a friend than without.
Zombie Show - Haven't played this one, but it looks like a zombie apocalypse racer. It is rated M.
Bomber Friends - Bomberman clone, but it does support local as well as online multiplayer. It looks like from the reviews this game might be a bit of a cash grab. I personally might get an emulator and emulate bomberman 3 for the SNES first, but if that's not your thing, maybe this is.
Eternal - This is a strategy card game, something like Magic the Gathering maybe. It's not really my thing, so I don't have a lot of experience with it, but maybe those who do can comment.
Clash - Fun battle arena game that is completely free. No IAP, no ads, just a totally free game. There is no single player mode, and no co-op, but the multiplayer competitive is fun and entertaining, and easily worth the $0 you will pay.
Real Racing 3 - Realistic looking racing game. Reminds me of Gran Turismo from back in the day. You have to play through the single player tutorial, and you get a car. Once you have done that, then you can play "party mode", which should be a little icon at the top. One problem I have on the Shield Pro is that it recognizes the IR receiver as a controller. If you happen to be using a universal remote with IR, it will actually drive the car. But, any other connected gamepads will be automatically assigned. On the non-pro shield, you shouldn't have the same problem.
Tiny Little Racing 2 - Basic little racing game. Kind of like Micro Machines.
Hey thanks for this breakdown man! I live with my girlfriend and am in a similar boat. We already play JuJu together, good fun. Also Lego Avengers in 4k, but that's not comin from the Shield.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but how did you get Gang Beasts to work? It doesn't show in Nvidia Game Stream (I have to access it via Steam), and I have the issue where the first controller controls everyone.

You have to enable multi-controller by holding the "start" button, then choosing the three dots in the right corner, and enabling multi-controller. It will look something like this.

If you have already done that, then I usually go with the classic advice of just restarting everything. Restart the PC, and the shield. Then make sure all the controllers you are using are connected BEFORE launching the steam gamestream app.
If you have done that, and it's still not working, try looking at the settings you have in Steam. Under Steam>settings>controller settings. It opens in "big picture mode" and has a number of options to try to determine what the problem is.

Bombsquad doesn't require to pay to unlock multiplayer. A great game btw.
There are more local multiplayer games out right now, but still we could use some more decent quality titles.
Personally I highly recommend Sky Force Anniversary - the best high quality old school shooter for android. It is awesome in 2 player mode.

List Maintenance
The links for Stikbold!, Age of Zombies, Chariot, Siegecraft Commander, Killing Floor: Calamity, NEO TURF MASTERS, Duck Game Demo, and Clash seem to be broken.
I would like to add a few:
Auralux: Constellations - Strategic space battle with a relaxing soundtrack. Up to four players order their forces to other planets with the goal of wiping out everyone else. It has enough free levels to learn the techniques and strategies, or to play casually on a games night. Full sets of levels are for sale but purchasing all of them is pricey.
Cardcast - Apples to Apples type game where a player chooses the card they prefer from those secretly submitted by the others. The game is silent, which means you will need to add your own narration to make things more fun. Many types of games use the I Hope They Pick My Card style (such as Cards Against Humanity) and there are additional card packs available for purchase. It uses Chromecast, so, like the Jackbox Party Packs, players use devices rather than controllers.
Stickman Base Jumper 2 - Jump from tall places and try to stick the landing. This game has one-button control, so it is very quick to learn. It uses Pass-and-Play for multiple players in Party Mode, which means only one controller is necessary. Level and player selection are a bit awkward. Even so, it is a lot of fun to watch your friend's skydiving efforts fail tragically in a variety of ways.

I've been on the cm9 beta for a little while now and it seems like there are a lot of games that work quite well in the alpha and some that are a screen-tearing, frame-dropping mess. So I have the idea to start up this thread, a thread primarily dedicated to sharing which games work really well on cm9. I personally will be posting review sort of things on here that go quite in-depth but you guys can post in however much detail you want. You can post about the hardest of hardcore games to the easiest of casual games but as long as its relevant it will hopefully be appreciated. I do want to have a couple of rules for this thread and they're as follows:
*No bashing other peoples reviews or opinions- everyone is entitled to their own opinion and while I'm ok with a respectful discussion I don't want flame wars in here.
*Please keep it relevant to cm9- this thread is about _cm9_ gaming, I don't care if you go and make a gaming thread for a different rom but I don't want posts about cm7 or MIUI in here.
*have fun- don't feel obligated to post something if you don't want to. Try to have fun in here and I'll try to too.

Well I'll be kicking things off!
My first recommendation/review:
Dungeon Defenders: Second wave
Overview-
Dungeon defenders is a mix between a tower defense fantasy game and a traditional 3d RPG. The main premise is that the kingdoms heroes have gone off to defeat some great evil and have left their kids to guard the castle. In each area/map there is an eternia crystal that you have to set up towers and traps and such to defend from the waves of monsters.
Gameplay-
Gameplay is mainly governed by one of four classes each with their own play styles and pros/cons.
The apprentice-
The long ranged, magic user who places down towers that shoot long range projectiles.
The apprentice is the easiest class to use and is by far the best for beginners as his towers are the easiest to start off with and his skills are easy to understand and use.
The huntress-
The long ranged, assassin class.
The huntress wields either a crossbow or gun that deals long ranged damage and places down traps that activate when stepped on by monsters. The huntress can be somewhat hard to use due to her slightly less straightforward traps.
The squire-
The close ranged tank.
The squire combines melee attacks with brutal close ranged towers to destroy enemies quickly up close.
The Knight has some of the best starter towers in the game but he is at somewhat of a disadvantage without teammates to back him up due to his only close range play style.
The monk-
The all around skillful class.
The monk combines the first three classes in a Jack of all trades sort of play style. He has a melee attack as well as a long ranged magic attack with towers that deal different affects when stepped on by enemies. He is definately the hardest class to play due to his lack of a prominent skill and towers that need some getting used to and upgrades to really learn how to use effectively.
So once you've chosen a class its time to jump into the game.
There's a helpful tutorial that you can jump into but its not a super complicated game at first. Each map is made up of different rounds. At the end of each round chests will appear with Mana in them, the currency you use to build towers and buy or upgrade things after the round has ended. You also get mana from killing the various mobs that spawn throughout the wave. You also earn xp that goes towards level ups that let you carry more mana and unlocks new towers for you to build. Also when you level up you can attribute skill points to different skills such as player or tower damage, health, speed etc etc. Monsters also drop random items which you can equip or sell in between rounds.
After the round is over you can buy and sell weapons and armor, and upgrade you currently have equipped. The sheer number of weapons and upgrades you can apply to them makes it easy to make sure no two are the same.
Multiplayer-
The multiplayer element of this game is WHERE ITS AT! This game really shines through and its super easy to jump into a match and start playing as long as you have a good internet connection (which at time of writing I didn't). All you need to do is sign up for a game spy account which while can sometimes be a hassle keeps the hackers and cheaters out and keeps the fun consistent. Once you've made that account you can quick join a game or open up a server browser to pick between maps, difficulties and game modes. Once you join its smooth sailing and the different classes are very well designed to overlap and coordinate together in the multi player game modes. If you can get several friends to get this you will have a great time indeed.
Controls-
There aren't too many options for the controls but overall they're not too bad. The way to move your character is to rotate the wheel-ish joystick in the left portion of the screen. That controls both movement and direction mind you so it might take a little bit to get used to but once you do its just fine. Its hard to describe exactly how to use it because I've never seen another control scheme like it. The buttons around the other edges of the screen control other movement controls such as jumping or attacking, as well as selecting what towers to build (actual placement is done through touch input) or what abilities to activate or spells to cast. The game defaults to having the actual movement touchpad being invisible but that seems really stupid so I recommend turning that off in the settings. So while not completely perfect the controls are definately usable and should be relatively easy to learn for most users.
Graphics/Performance on cm9-
The game has a graphics slider that allows you to go from HD crisp graphics to blurry pixelated retro goodness. On the highest graphics setting the screen tearing really sets in but on lower resolution on the slider you can get very good performance on cm9. Overall it performs quite well with no hw accel and it will only get better once we get full acceleration.
Verdict-
Overall this game offers up some great RPG game play mixed in with some tower defense elements and kick ass multi player. The controls are manageable and if you want to have some long term fun, (as you can go quite in depth) this is a great choice and for a free game it couldn't be a better deal. I'd recommend it to any Android gamer and its a great game.

Yeah, that's a problem, although most of them would run. Try using Apk leecher on your PC and then side loading them. Might work, but I'm not sure if you can download paid apps even if you've bought them.

One thing that doesn't work is using three fingers to access the menu. I get around this by opening up the recent apps thing and closing it, which then pauses the game, opening the menu.
Also, swiping to slow down/speed up the game does not seem to work as well.
Draw Something, Angry bird's, Sonic CD and Plants vs Zombies work great
Unfortunately my favorites don't show up and I'd love to test them

Yeah, I've been considering getting sonic CD, are the controls any good? As that's kind of important in a sonic game.

I find all games I've played so far worked well especially Cut the Rope experiments. My only complaint was that play store didn't work for me I don't know if that's a known problem but felt it should be mentioned. Though back on topic the games I've tried so far play smooth.

With the default cm9 build.prop the gameloft games dont work. I'll try modifying mine to look like a Droid 3 (which worked fine for cm7) and get back to you on that. I'll also mention their performance too. If I get the chance to DL the big-ass game data.

For the device not conptable message, you can edit the build.prop, I w able to get it to work on cm7 by spoofing a droid3. Dunno about cm9 though.

Haven't changed my build.prop because no one has said it is OK to do so as of yet nor what i would change. I like the play store recognizing the nook as a tablet as well
You know... it's funny. Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, mupen64plus emulator, ran with amazing speed in CM7. However the video and colors were kinda bad. Like buttons just looked weird, and sometimes there would be random squares.
HOWEVER. On CM9, the video and graphics are superlative. However, it lags obviously. Not TOO much... I mean it's definitely playable, but if you are fighting Gannondorf it's kind of annoying. Hopefully rebellos will get this kind of thing working for us.
Title says it all. I don't want to train or have to do stupid stuff. I just want to pitch and hit and have decent gameplay.

I've been wanting to get into this ever since I bought it during the sale too but never have. Does it cram opportunities to buy stuff down my throat? I loathe freemium games.

If you don't mind a baseball game that looks a little cartoony, Baseball Superstars 2011 (Paid version) is your best bet (I would say 2012, but the "freemium" nature is a bit annoying, though I would say I played an entire season and didn't need to buy anything).
The game is surprisingly deep (lots of options and strategy), and really fun to play. You can play the quick games if you want to avoid training, etc
I'm going to add my opinion on this. For a true, manager, pitching/batting team experience, baseball superstars 2011 or 2012. For an arcade, with buying uniforms, DeMarini (Vexxum, CF4/CF5, M2M, Vendetta), Voodoo etc. go for Homerun Battle 3D .... you can play users all over the world. I've played that for the last 1.5 years, recently i moved to Homerun Battle 2, which adds more batting options, characters (you can be a woman), stadiums to play at (outer space, hell, island) and different levels of attaining gold balls (you can play Duel, Survival where your health drops down and you pick which type of ball to throw to your opponent and try to get your health to the top, and Mission mode where you can play 4 other players at the same time and you have to win a certain "mission", say, hit 6 homeruns without a strike). You can also play single player in HB2 and there is a new option as well called "Burning" which will give your thumb pads a workout after playing 5 minutes (mine went numb).
Homerun Battle 3d was my favorite for years now. Both HB3D and HB2 have trial modes so you can play them before you buy
The best one is the one missing the Yankees.

Baseball Superstars 2012, it's not a sim experience, but it's fun to play and has enough depth to keep you interested

I've played this game for months now and haven't bought a single thing, although you do have the opportunity to buy some unique outfits. Unlike some other games you're not required to buy anything to progress in the game...

Big Win Hockey/Soccer/Baseball: Hockey/Soccer/Baseball games where you coach and lead the team. No actual sports play more a managerial sports game. Regardless a good concept with good potential. Real Soccer 2012: free/??: Hear alot about in app purchases but havent had issues. I love Real Soccer games and this is no different. The graphics are sharp and beautiful on my phone and the players experience has been awesome for me. Will edit if I run into that whole in app purchase thing I read about. 9 innings pro baseball 2013/B]: Free: My gf actually was playing this so I downloaded. It is a really fun game with descent graphics. Gameplay can be kinda rough but it is the only game I found that has actual MLB players which I like.

Baseball Superstars 2010, 2011, 2, 2012: free:??: I am actually addicted to this. I had bought things in app and had a problem with the dev but onlynwith 2012. In the earlier ones it is a truly exciting game with an interesting take on the life of a baseball star. You start from rookie year until you retire. Well worth your time to download and check it. You control a rollercoaster going through the big apple and you decide the speed. There is a mode to just get through the course and a race after you complete the board.. Awesome fun.

They need to be fed $$ - An interesting concept for a puzzle/adventure mash up..You control what I assume is a small animal. Your goal is to jump around the board and get to the obstacles to the larger creature at the end of the board to feed him. Awesome game.
Gunman Clive $$ - Bought this while it was on sale for .99 and I honestly would pay $4.99 for a game of this caliber. The graphics are awesome, gameplay is smooth as butta, and the concept is cool. Set in an old western you are a cowboy hero fighting your way through the wild wild west. If you love adventure games this is a MUST HAVE and even if you don't, try it anyway because the game is solid.
Cordy Free/$$ - This puzzle/jumper is one of the original gangstas of mobile gaming. This game burst onto the scene and then jumped out kind of quick as well. Regardless it still stole my heart and I always play this game to this day. MUST HAVE

Trap it Free - This is another simple game. But one that you will not put down once you start. There are balls bouncing around the game. Make lines to seperate the balls and trap them. I LOVE THIS GAME. MUST HAVE. As it has hours upon hours of smooth, awesome gameplay.

Flick kick soccer Free - Another soccer game where you are set to swype your way to victory. Streaming:
Pandora & Slacker. No need for any others honestly. Both now have ads but are awesome. They use a lot of data so be warned.
Also Spotify now allows streaming...haven't tested or used but always heard good things about it. :thumbup:
DatPiff if you like hiphop and streaming mixtapes.
Ringtones: these apps can make ringtones out of any mp3 file you have.

N7 Music Player: a different twist in style. Cool look can be difficult to navigate but love it.
Apollo & Walkman: Both are clean, simple, and awesome. My two usual suspects for playing music.
Realplayer: Used this for years for music. Still love the interface and simplicity but the rom I use came with walkman and past had apollo and I havent looked back
Google Play: kinda obvious
Music Identifiers:
Google Ears Googles music identifier. It is shazaam but by google. Don't have a link if someone wants to P.M. me with one I would appreciate it :laugh::good:
Soundhound I bought the full version for .99cents and haven't looked back yet from shazam. Mainly because it is paid for and offers more features than a free shazam,
Shazam I know the paid version is amazing. Lyrics, links, downloads etc. It is worth it to have all three of these cool apps that are the first of its kind.
Movies and Video:
Movie apps:
RunPee: tells you times to pee during a movie. Also tells whether to watch the credits or not. Useful if you go to a theater. It tells you when to pee and not only that but it gives you the exact situation to read while you are peeing so when you get back you know what happened. Also indicates when you should run and pee or get a snack/drink by telling you the exact line to leave at. MUST HAVE even if you go to the movies once in a while. I love this app.
Video Players:
I use MVideo and Mx to play movies on my note.
I like MX better because it has swype controls and its convenient. Also delivers a crisp picture :victory:
As far as watching movies I use Netflix, hulu+.
For movie info IMDB, Flixster, and Moviefone are the most useful I have found.

I have found root toolbox to be helpful for changing boot animations and such.

FILE EXPLORERS!
ES File Explorer - Nice layout and easy to navigate. Good for changing permissions or just moving stuff around. Regardless I use this a lot.
Solid File Explorer Beta - the new kid on the block. I used ES religiously and still do but find myself heading to Solid more and more. As far as navigating ES is simpler and I use ES for my more complicated tasks but this is still in production and is SUPER promising. Guaranteed to be top notch when all is said and done
Astro - The first I ever owned. Not as clean as ES in my opinion and does not have the abilities ES shares but still good enough to get around with :thumbup:
Randoms:
FoxFi- for the non rooted user a way to tether. But utterly useless for those who are rooted.
Evernote- Hands down the most impressive note taking app out. Take picture, written, or recorded notes and view them by date, time or however you please. So simple and a must have. Even with the S-pen I use this to take notes.
Airdroid- WHY WONT MY PHONE CONNECT TO THE COMPUTER THROUGH USB??? Meh who cares. Airdroid allows you to remotely connect your amazing Droid to your computer via a website and code. While there, backup files, transfer them, or do whatever but this app is amazing I don't even care about a USB connection anymore.
Air Push detector WHY DO I KEEP GETTING THESE MESSAGES IN MY NOTIFICATION BAR? Um BC that stupid free game you downloaded to get free gold in DEAD TRIGGER is sending them. Well this app sniffs those bastard apps out and destroys them like the scum they are. Must have app.

For streaming radio "TuneIn Radio" is simply the best. Except if you need to listen to a local Clear Channel radio program. In that case you will need "iHeartRadio".
Great thread!! But.....I don't get this live streaming sports app at the end of your first post. Seems to be an internet link that leads to nothing but ads and links to more ads. Not to mention this app sends out push notifications to your notification bar. Pure GARBAGE. Why would you even recommend such an app?? If you want some place better to watch all streaming sports then bookmark http://www.thefirstrow.eu in your browser. You will still have to deal with annoying ads but at least there is a definitive menu to pick the streams, and no airpush ads.

Hey guys I have a Galaxy Note through AT&T and made a thread for customizing your home screen, games, widgets, and such. I wanted to post the link because nobody really checks the general section and a few people have PMed me to share it. Also just so you know some of the custom apps such as beats will not work. Do not flash anything from this thread because it will NOT work on your phone. And could very possibly brick your device. Real Soccer 2012: free/??: Hear alot about in app purchases but havent had issues. I love Real Soccer games and this is no different. Soundhound I bought the full version for .99cents and haven't looked back yet from shazam. Mainly because it is paid for and offers more features than a free shazam,
Shazam I know the paid version is amazing. Lyrics, links, downloads etc. It is worth it to have all three of these cool apps that are the first of its kind.

RunPee: tells you times to pee during a movie. Also tells whether to watch the credits or not. Useful if you go to a theater. It tells you when to pee and not only that but it gives you the exact situation to read while you are peeing so when you get back you know what happened. Also indicates when you should run and pee or get a snack/drink by telling you the exact line to leave at. MUST HAVE even if you go to the movies once in a while. I love this app.
Video Players:
I use MVideo and Mx to play movies on my note.
I like MX better because it has swype controls and its convenient. Also delivers a crisp picture :victory:
As far as watching movies I use Netflix, hulu+.

I've recently created different flappy bird clones and tried to jump on the flappy bird train, but it didn't work out, as there simply is too much competition.
I wonder if creating apps for android is profitable for small developers anyway. Are there any suggestions on which kind of games to focus? Which genres are you targeting on?
What are your experiences with casual games?
Everyone likes high end graphics games.... but so far the only game i havent seen on the play store... its a soccer game...fifa 15 & 16 just sucks... cant play international games ect... maybe a worl cup game with narrators? Since its just around the corner!!.. & maybe charge $5 bucks for it..

Simple games sometimes do very well. Look at flappy bird. I would go for a simple game with simple easy to understand input.
Phone games are meant to kill time. Make a game that requires no skill at all.
Side scrolling 2d games....that have a storyline!
There is no silver bullet. You could never know which one will be hyped.
If you have a lot of money to spend on marketing you can sell any game, otherwise it doesn't matter if your game has high- or low-end graphics. If some people start to play with it and start to share it you'll win
Just make games you would like to play with

Its too hard to develop soccer games on android and need expensive licenses for stars like messi or ronaldo.
