Help.! Hard Bricked after restore of NANDROID backup...!!! - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I accidentally restore a backup (of my previous Z2 which was on my sd card through TWRP) on my Z2 on Exsistenz LP ROM yesterday. After that phone wont boot. Battery was .70% at the time of death. Red blinking led is seen when connected to usb cable. POWER + VOL UP doesn't give 3 vibes as intended, in fact nothing. Neither red hard reset button(Tried pressing it for >3mins). Cannot enter flash mode or fast boot modes .(tried to flash stock ROM through flash tool-failed). Only red blinking LED appears when usb cable connected.
Wierd to found when I press hard reset button while pressing POWER button it gives 3 vibes. But nothing changed.
Tried "pressing and holding all 3 buttons (power, vol+and vol-) all at the same time till it vibrates once then let go of the power button and vol+ but keep holding vol - while plugging in the usb cable this MiGHT boot your phone into flash mode" But didn't vibrate while holding all 3 buttons.
Its out of warranty period as well.
Please help me to recover to recover??? :crying:

Something similar happened to me recently...wonder if this is a bug in a new release or something
This is what I did.
If you can't turn off phone, turn it off using the hard reset button http://sony-xperia.mobi/eng/sony-xperia-z2/231-how-to-do-a-hard-reset-and-reboot-a-sony-xperia-z2-physical-hard-reset-button-sony-xperia-z2.html
There's a really good guide on bricked z2 somewhere on xda but I can't find it anymore . What it said was useflashtools and flash and old ftf e.g. 4.4.4 or 4.4.2 and make sure to wipe apps_log and user_data in settings.

Thanks for advice. The problem is it wont connect in flash mode. (attached usb with VOL DOWN button pressed & hold still gives only red blinking led)

If you restored another XZ2 with LOCKED BOOTLOADER's backup you probably killed your phone.
Was your bootloader unlocked?
Restoring anothers TA partition kills your device because drm keys are uniq

HELP!!!

Hello, I'm new on this site, and already I need help.
Here is problem:
I rooted my Xperia S, and I regret for that (it's kind of slower, and I hate that) but beside that, I was trying to find solution to speed it up. U flashed the kernelV2, I mean that I think I was xD And then my wifi didn't work. So I googled up a lil bit, and find the kernel named "DooMKernel". I followed instructions and nothing, so I shut down my phone, actually reset it (holding POWER buton and VOLUME UP until it vibrates 3 times), and after that nothing, my phone wont turn on. As I remember my phone was at 35% of battery. And only hope that I have is, when I plug USB in my laptop, it makes a sound of connected device, and install SEMC Flash Device . I'm very afraid that my phone is broken, cause, I have it about 10 days, and I'm new android user. Don't take me too noob, I read lot of forums, tips, solutions, but in the end, I'm new in all this.
So, please does anyone have any solutions, what can I do? Please! (P.S. my phone is plugged in charger for about half of hour, without any response or light)
Thank you all, anyway.
Are you on ics rom? If yes doomkernel wont work
Connect phone to pc in fastboot mode by pressing power and vol up hold it till the first vibrate now release only the power button if the led turns blue flash the xsx kernel (example)
If you are on gb rom try to reinstall the system using pccompanion enter flasode by pressing power and vol up till the first vibrate now only push vol down and flash

Thank you for response.
I tried that, to put it in fastboot mode, nothing. My phone doesnt show any kind of led light in any situations (red when is in charger, blue in fastboot mode, green is flashmode). Only when I connect my phone on laptop it makes a sound of new device connected named SEMC Flash Device. I was thinking to fall apart my phone, to put out battery, maybe that would help.
It helped!!!! I didn't see your answer very well. Thank you!!! Is there anyway to put phone back unrootet, cause I don't like it, its kind of slowy

try this:
hold the power button + volume up then wait till it vibrates 3 times, your phone will power off,
1. install flashtool
2. download ftf
3. paste the ftf on c:\firmwares\
4. open flashtool then click the lighting icon, choose fastmode, choose ftf and wait until it says (power off phone then connect via fastmode), since your phone is power off all u need to do is to connect the phone and then hold the power button+ volume down.
5. then it will reinstall your firmware.
6.after installing unplug your phone then power it on.
voila its working now

Xperia P - Fully bricked after flashing with Flashtool

Hi,
I flashed a tft file with Flashtool. After the flashing progress had finished, I keep the phone plugged in for about 30 minutes.
When I came back, I unplugged the phone and tried to power it up.
I kept pressing the power button but nothing happened.
When I plug the USB cable in, the led turns red.
I have tried all button combination but hothing happened.
Could anyone please help me?
Hold vol up plus power button until the phone vibrates for three times
Then try to reflash again, check that you have the right file

I have tried, but there was no vibration
Please write here all actions you have performed. Have you installed CWM? Custom kernel? Which ftf file did you flash?
plus, make sure your phone is fully charged, the red led is usually and indicator for an empty one
And can you connect the phone in flash or fastboot modes?

Possible hard brick

Hi there
I have recently been given a broken Sony Xperia Tablet Z. When the power button is pressed a red light flashes 3 times but nothing happens. When the vol+ and power is pressed nothing happens. When the vol- and power is pressed the red light flashes three times again.
Is there anything I can do to fix it?
Many thanks!

Hi there!
I've had on charge for a while now and still nothing. Would I need to be able to get into Download mode to flash with flash tool?
Thanks!
After charging the tablet for several hours, do this.
Press vol up + power button and hold until white led blinks 3 times.
(This will make sure the tablet is properly powered off. If after a long period no 3 blinks of white led, then it might mean that tablet state is already off. Press and hold just the power button and see if white led will blink just once then let go power button. The Sony logo should follow. All this is to see if tablet can shut down or power up properly or not. If it cannot do even the basic, then I have no idea how to proceed. This is why I don't trust my important data's in the internal emulated sdcard. I prefer my data to be in removable microsd. If tablet becomes dead and cannot be switched on, then any data that is stored in the unremovable internal emulated sdcard will be trapped. )
If you are lucky, the white led blinks 3 times it means that the tablet can be properly shut down, then ..
Then, connect a usb wire to the tablet. Do not plug the cable to the pc yet. without pressing power button, plug the cable to the PC WHILE you press and hold vol up button.
If you get a blue led at the side of the tablet, it means your tablet can be put into fastboot mode.
Do this first. I believe that once the tablet can be put into fastboot mode, then the tablet can be restored by flashing a recovery boot loader.
If you cannot get the tablet into fastboot mode, then I do not have enough knowledge about how to proceed. You will need to bring it to a service center for repairs.

Hi there!
Thank you both for your help! I can successfully get the device into fastboot mode.
When trying to enter flashmode the device flashes green then goes back to red.
Is there anyway of fixing the device?
Many thanks!
First thing you need is a recovery boot loader.
This link helped me but I use Ubuntu linux to install recovery boot loader into my Tablet z wifi. (I think it is also possible to do it in windows but you will need to install proper drivers)
Before this step, I also used Flashtool under windows 7 to unlock my bootloader. It is not difficult to use Flashtool and unlock bootloader but you must decide how important it is to you to backup TA before unlocking bootloader. In my case, I didn't feel I need SONY bravia engine, so I didn't backup my TA.
1. Use Flashtool to UNLOCK
2. Use Fastboot to install TWRP recovery loader
3. Download a Custom Rom (CM11/CM12/Omnirom./PAC) and save it to microsd
4. Boot into TWRP Recovery, clean data / cache partitions and flash custom rom from microsd
http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/93490-soft-bricked-my-xperia-installing-cm/
To fix the problem, I downloaded CMB from http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=2463423. I unzip'd it, and used fastboot to install the boot.img: "sudo ./fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot pollux-windy/cmb/boot.img". Then I rebooted into TWRP recovery, and wiped/reformatted everything (including /data, which CWM wouldn't mount or wipe). I then sideloaded the CM11 ROM, booted back into TWRP, and installed CM11 from within TWRP. I ended up reflashing the CMB boot.img back on, even after installing CM11, and everything seems to be running great now.
Hi, same problem. Good answer was here : https://fr.ifixit.com/Réponses/Afficher/273255/black+screen+and+red+led+blinking+3+times#
In fact, my Aukey Quick charger did the thing: https://www.amazon.fr/AUKEY-Charge-Chargeur-Secteur-Samsung/dp/B01AHY1XAY

Z2 Tablet not booting after Magisk install

So thanks to Netflix and its implementation of security net I wanted to install Magisk on my Z2.
Im running the stock 6.0 Rom which was just rooted with supersu.
My tab was charged 80+%
I uninstalled SuperSU, went to TWRP and flashed Magisk.
After flashing the screen stayed black. Nothing at all.
Long press power gives me one vibration after 3 seconds but nothing else.
Long press power & vol - gives me the same vibration
Long press power & vol + gives me nothing
Connecting the tab to the computer gives me nothing. No device recognised (no adb, no fastboot)
Connecting the tab to a charger has the LED blinking red.
Long pressing power makes the led turn solid (no blinking)
Power & vol - the same
Power & vol + nothing
Basically I seemed to somehow have turned my tab into a brick oO
I can't even get it to boot to twrp or fastboot
Atm I'm letting it charge just to see if that was an issue (I doubt it)
Otherwise the only thing I can think of is opening it and disconnecting the battery...maybe that will help?
Ok nevermind. I managed to get into flashmode and reflash. tab is now working again!
How did you get it to be recognized and reflash? I flashed mine after rooting and I get similar behavior to what you were getting. It will vibrate once if I press the power button, I can get it to turn the light blue if I hold the up volume and the power button while plugged in. The screen will not turn on at the Emma tool doesn't seem to recognize it.
Same Problem here.
@pseudoheld could you please provide some more info?

Question How to save a black brick

I tried to root my phone by magisk.
After flashing a patched boot.img, it's failed to boot into system and I got a message that "the device need factory reset". I clicked yes and everything seems ok,I can boot into system. Then I tried to flash img again. So I boot into bootloader. Unfortunately, this time I got a black screen. The phone doesn't response me anymore.
I tried the software repair in xperia companion but It cannot dected my phone when I hold on volume down and plugged in it. I also tried hold on volume up + power but nothing happened. Hold on power key also no response. The led light always black, only become red when I connect it to my pc.
What should I so now and what's my phone's status? I searched something about 9008 mode and edl but I don't know how to check whether my phone is really turn into that status, my pc cannot dect my phone.
Have the same problem, only with the 5 iii instead. Still looking for a fix.
Try to switch the phone off; then just plug it into your PC without holding the Vol- key. It has happenned a couple of times with me that the phone does not want to boot up, with attempts to get it into FLASH mode by holding the key down throwing more confusion into the mix.
I think there is a low battery protection. Make sure the phone is charged up. Keeps the device from death during a flash.
Red led mean a very low battery. Keep it plugged (not to PC but to power adapter) for 2-3 hours and then try again a force reset.
Never, never try flash or other stuff under 50% battery
Also force restart is keep pressed vol+ and power button (or vol- and power button) till you fell a vibration.
Try this after a good charge

It might require experimenting with service modes and different chargers. I had an early Xperia 1 III that bootlooped while charging after setting up the fingerprint reader. It seems that charging is disabled during booting. It has to finish or enter a service/fault mode.
my phone is having this after doing fastboot --slot=b reboot recovery (which actually I had to do fastboot --set-slot=b and then fastboot reboot recovery). the notification light blinks red. have tried vol up + power, vol down + power, and vol up + down + power for like 30 seconds and nothing

I feel sorry for you brother...such a nice device...OK let's talk what happened, the state now your device is in is called hardbrick and it had a corrupted bootloader or no boot loader, but your device is still alive, in your PC in device manager it lists as Qs USB mode with some number after it like qsusb9008...now this device can only be brought to life with the help of a blankflash file which can flash your boot loader in snapdragon service mode...actually no snapdragon can be hardbricked permanently now you need appropriate blankflash file for your device.. Please don't open the device if some repairmen suggests to do JTAG nothing is necessary all you need is blankflash file which is shared to only Sony testers groups.... Who tests ROMs before release and they hardbrick so they share those files to them.... Please don't loose hope....it takes time but certainly it can be bought back to life... And dont try any flashing utility as there is no functional boot loader on it now and nothing will work...Sony won't provide that for sure and they will say then can only solve by mother board replacement ,don't believe therm your device is perfect it only needs blankflash file as it entered into final safe mode... I ain't regular on XDA if you need any info contact me via my mail [email protected] g ma I'll .com
Have any of you tried this - https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/get-started/flash-tool/download-flash-tool/
ok in my case it was the charging IC
