A topic on swiftkey apps... vs Xperia Keyboard - Sony Xperia X Questions & Answers

I have been looking at the xperia x filesystem apps and noticed that there's an app called "com.swiftkey.swiftkeyconfigurator" that appears as SwiftKey factory configuration, does someone know what is that for? I have been interested in going away from original Xperia Keyboard to SwiftKey and change the skin to make it more like old Xperia Keyboard...

[req] new Xperia mini/pro launcher

Hello I was wondering if anyone could get their hands on the new launcher for the newly released xperia minis? its the same screen resolution as the x8 and the arc launcher (also 2.3) works on the x8 so installing this one on it shouldnt be a problem and it looks so cool
thanks!

ones are not released yet.wait till august
im waiting for this launcher too! think it should work on the X10 mini pro too ?!?!?! maybe they don't forgett to support the smaller screen resolution...
...320x240 is not so much, the go launcher ex works great there but the app depot or "5 keys in dock bar" are designed for bigger screens.. its not so easy to work with one finger on this small stuff......
ps: a "4 corner mini docks" instead of the 5-keys-dock-bar for go launcher ex would be greeeaaaaaaaatt!!!
..and a 3x3 or so size in the app depot view .........
...or just the basic x10 mini pro launcher with multiple widgets at one screen + resizeable widgets.......

alphanumeric keyboard for Arc

hy to all
i want to know that is there any alphanumeric keyboard for android OS
that can be used with Arc
?????????????????????????????????
swiftkey x, search for it on the android market.
smart keyboard
HTC IME with the alt. numpad keyboard activated
The Xperia Ray has an alphanumeric keyboard and it runs on the same screen resolution as the Arc does! YAY!
There are also a few other nice things incoming for us Arc and Neo owners. CRT Lockscreen animation will come by default, we'll get an application to update Sony Ericsson stuff on the phone, and we'll get a Sony Ericsson-made Battery Saver application!
(source: I tried the Ray and all other new devices today, a Sony Ericsson Sales Rep had one I could play with ^^)
There's an alpha numeric keyboard present in the arc by default. Just choose the Chinese keyboard under input method and you'll get it.

Yes, but that one only has an English dictionary, with the update to 4.0 we now have a full alphanumeric keyboard with all dictionaries, and it works pretty well. Only thing we need now is multitouch support for the default keyboard.

xPeria Arc Keyboard on SGS2

Coming from an X10i before I upgraded to i9100G, I used wolfbreak's ROM where I so loved the new swype keyboard (ported from xPeria Arc). It's not exactly the same as the Swype from SGS2 but I found it to be the best of all keyboards I tried. And I have paid version of SlideiT. Out of curiosity I installed that keyboard on my rooted i9100G but of course it didn't install as I expected.
Now I guess what i wanted to ask is, since the stock Swype from SGS2 sucks and I wanted a better keyboard that works like swype/slideit, is there anything else I can do to port the xPeria Arc's keyboard to my phone?
Also, how do you hide Swype (stock keyboard)? like when you're typing and you wanna temporarily hide it.
Can we download additional Languages? I'm a filipino and I would love to have tagalog language installed in my phone. Sony Ericsson has tagalog.
Thanks for the help!

Android 4.2 keyboard with gesture typing

I downloaded and installed keyboard from this thread . Its from galaxy note 2.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1964814
That keyboard is with gesture typing ( sth like swype) . I cant make gesture working on my sony tablet s. Any ideas how to have it fully worked? Conventional input is good but sometimes keyboard closes/hiddens. I also tried to install stock keyboard from xperia arc s 4.0.3 but it fc.
No issues getting the swype gestures to work here on my Xperiat Tablet S. Works well, but not as visually appealing as the default keyboard.
Add gesture typing works after I changed keyboard language from auto/system to eg. English usa. Could you confirm that in your device ?
This keyboard has issues to fix. When I want to type word letter by letter keyboard closes/minimalises and to continue l must click on write area once or twice to having keyboard. After typing one or two letters keyboard dissapears . This repeats again and again.
Maybe jelly bean keyboard extracted from similar device should work better (xoom).
Any suggestions/improvements/attachments ?
I remember using the proper port and it worked fully until a few seconds and then it really played up, really nice though.

Xperia Tablet S Gesture Input?

Does the latest firmware update for the xperia tablet s have gesture (swype) input for the stock keyboard?
I am about to buy an xperia tablet s, but really require this feature, I have used other keyboards from the play store, but none of them came close to te stock keyboard on my xperia t phone.
Without gesture input I know I will struggle.
Thanks
Nope, you have to use Google Keyboard.
