Want to change to CM.....but what rom is best

All custom rom is great..there's cons and disadvantage in each rom..you must try it your self then you can decide what rom that suitable for you, but unfortunately..the real and big problem is not about the rom it self..but from redmi note device it self that we had..xiaomi releasing this device with 2 different hardware manufactures (finger print and front camera hardware) that's causing one of these the newest release..it's doesn't fully support in CM or AOSP kernel yet..coz xiaomi not yet releasing that new kernel sources..really making dispointed for some user that have this new bacth, that's why for a while..i'm back to MIUI again..until xiaomi release that newest kernel sources then all custom rom fully support all redmi note devices variant..

so the cm is good rom thanks.
i only buy the phone for custom roms, not miui

Yup..i'm on the same bot with you...since xiaomi releasing miui7 and xiaomi developers just focusing to adding more and more features and security (that are copy of apple :silly: ) that are all mostly doesn't important thing for us using it for daily used..then left all the bugs from the previous version and the OS upgrade still far behind..it begin make me fill don't too much love again with miui rom..but with my bad luck already had redmi note devices with new batch that doesn't fully support CM or AOSP..then it's force me..i must back to miui for a while until xiaomi releasing their kernel sources..
For rom..you can try CM13 official by TheStrix or unofficial by Santosh M or Nexus Experience AOSP based rom..these all i've already testing it..and it's awesome rom.. :good: and perfect with first batch of redmi note that are fully support it.. :fingers-crossed:

Regarding the special edition Marshmallow for Redmi Note 3 SD!
Seeing as the only bug is a locale after reboot change, can any of the most mighty devs here create an AOSP style ROM from it or use the base of that ROM to stabilize the current set of custom ROMs?
I am a novice be nice to me!

The answer is no. Devs can use some parts of the code, kernel etc, but that's the idea behind aosp (and the others), so that it is a pure android, which can't be based on miui.
Btw. All pure roms based on marshmallow work pretty well.

Redmi 3 (NOT Note or Pro) without MIUI?

Hi everyone,
plane and simple:
Is there a way to use the Redmi 3 without Miui? Its not a bad OS, its just to bloated.
I would much prevere the stock andorid, ir something very lightweight.
I already checked out with Cyanogen Mod, but they said, they are NOT supporting the Redmi 3.
So can I run a stock Android on the Redmi 3 without having issues? Or can you advise some other roms?
TY.

there are cm 12.1 and even cm 13 roms for redmi 3 why dont you search it on redmi 3 thread.
Apparently CM13 development just resumed yesterday and it seems to be pretty good for now.
I don't mind miui, it's an attractive rom, especialy 8. But I do mind all the Chinese clatter that come with it. If there is a debloated version for 3S I'd give it a go
Just install the global ROM if that's your problem. CyanogenMod is decent but needs some work to be a daily driver. That and the many bugs that still exist for it.

The "stock kernel"-labelled CM12.1 on XDA works great as my daily driver

How did one plus 5T get miui 10 port on Oreo and not our device?

Can this be ported to our device? If not why?
I'm so mad right now
It's so unfair that non-Xiaomi device get MIUI10 Beta port...... and RN4 don't....
I though RN4 have best development comunity but I guess I'm wrong....

Best development or worst community and blame xioame also op5t get miui port from mi6 that is flagship from last year not midranger rn4
Truth is that none of the developers and only a few users actually care about MIUI. We all come to XDA to finally delete MIUI from our phones and install custom ROMs.
Our phone will eventually get MIUI 10 which will still be based on Nougat (Mido) or Marshmallow (Nikel). By the time that happens, we will probably have Android P Beta for our phone.
Why do you people actually still use MIUI?
I don't use miui. But a phone that isn't even from xiaomi got it on the latest android version. This is important
And who would use a beta with the following bugs:
Not let me remove core MIUI app and too many bloatware Chinese app.
Can not change stock browser with third one as default one.
Same with music or video.
Nova launcher not working as it should with some bugs having
Continues issues with WhatsApp app not receiving notifications on time.
No ambient display.

I am talking about how a phone that isn't even from xiaomi got miui 10 on Oreo, while RN4 would get it only on nougat although officially. If miui 10 can be ported on Oreo then it could be done
Those bugs are terrible, but that isnt what the question is for. Ambient display wouldn't matter for our phone though.

Xiaomi simply doesn't update the Android version once the phone is released. That's why people come here in the first place.
What do you guys actually miss about or like about MIUI?
My thought is why do you even care what version android you are on if you use miui? Miui no matter the android base is the same. Miui is not just a skin on android but a massive rework of the entire code giving android 5.x the same features as 8.x. Miui also keeps the android security patch fairly updated.
I live in the US and have used miui ported roms since 2013 on gingerbread devices. Miui has always had better features than stock android and never mattered if you had new or old devices new or old android version if you had 2.2.3 miui you had the same rom features as everyone using 2.2.3.
The best question. If developer can port miui10 , our phone can get any version of miui unofficially. If op5T can get unofficially, RN4x can get also . All in developers hands.

Because Android OS version matters, the os upgrade is not a skin upgrade. Miui skins contains features but it doesn't bring os level support from apps and security upgrades.
5T has MSM8998 and Mi6 has the same processor too.
Redmi Note 4(Qualcomm) has MSM8953.
Im working on an MIUI Oreo port from Redmi S2 but im very busy these days so its moving a bit slowly. Ive booted the leaked one from Redmi 5 Plus so i think i can boot the S2 one too.
I personally wanna wait Redmi 5 Plus to update
Ill probably not release it but who knows...

i feel pretty confident that xiaomi will give miui 10 based on oreo 8.1 . Look at all those **** tonne of xiaomi phones with snapdragon 625. Heck they launched redmi y2 (redmi s2) in india which has miui 10 on oreo 8.1 .So it's a pretty big chance that redmi note 4 will get official oreo, and even redmi 5 plus

The modded MIUI 10 for OnePlus which was posted here is based on Oreo 8.0.
And if Xiaomi updated their old phones with new Android versions, people would be less likely to buy new ones.
I'd love to see a MIUI 10 ported ROM on Oreo.

huh xiaomi's been using the sd 625 for abt 2.5 years now. idk how long they will keep using it. there's no point of upgrading a xiaomi to another xiaomi if u won't go for the higher segment.

Im already porting the Redmi S2 Firmware on our device XD. Did it recieved MIUI 10!? Where i can get it as i port V9.5.6.0 china stable.
I just have to compile now a Lineage 15.1 kernel with few flag changes to match MIUI requirements(Compile stuff as modules). Finding a non-treble source is difficult :b.

Best custom rom for redmi 5 rosy?

I need suggestion.
Which is the best custom rom for redmi 5 rosy?
I am now in lineage os 14.1. But sometimes I am facing touch response issue.
Can anyone suggest how to solve it? I flashed it twice but the problem is still present.
Can anyone suggest me best custom rom for redmi 5 rosy?
Thanks in advance.
I suggest you use eu miui beta rom it's very smooth and lag Free rom with extra mods and good thing not blootware apps . Eu miui very fast rom it's better then en miui global rom even custom rom like RR. LINEAGE. AEX. VIPER. etc . And good news weekly security patch update ? You can't believe me you install this rom and check this rom.And this rom has face unlock. And last you want try anther best rom for smooth experience you try Dotos it's very fast and lag free rom because I try this rom experience bro sorry for my bad English
I'm currently using AEX and I'll say it's pretty good, no critical bugs/issues so far. Most amazing thing is that it just boots in 10 seconds. Memory management is with 200 MB's better than MIUI, battery is same.
Try pixel experience oreo

Custom ROM or not just yet

Hey everyone! I'm waiting for my new mi 8 lite to come and I'm wondering if I should flash a custom ROM immediately or not.
I used to have Redmi 3s prime (land) and I faced a few issues with custom ROMS, i.e. huge battery drain (LOS 15.1), camera picture desaturation (LOS 16), unbelievable lags (dot os).
In that device, the most stable ROM among those tried was Havoc OS, but the one I enjoyed most was LOS 16, because it was simple and minimal.
So, is there any platina ROM that has both good battery back up, simplicity and preserves the great camera mi 8 lite has?

Like any miui device if you want the best your camera offers you need miui. Custom miui roms will provide the best compromise. If you want aosp Havoc is available also but the maintainer builds and posts in his limited free time. So builds are a little behind source but for me havoc has what I want in an aosp rom.
There is fully working MIUI Camera port for custom roms. You can try one of many the most popular currently are Aosip and Pixel Experience. Roms are updated fairly regular but all the main notifications and changelogs are in telegram group. So join there if you want to be up to date and also if you need help you will get it faster than here. Btw for me best experience is Xiaomi EU stable rom, its MIUI without ads and bloatware. But its up to you to find what suits you best.
