LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOSdoes still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Important information:
This thread is for Unofficial LineageOS 13.0 builds for v2awifi (SM-T900). The following will not be supported here:
Custom kernels
Mods
Xposed
Do not ask for ETAs. If you do, I will ignore you and your post.
SEANDROID ERROR
If you see a message at boot about Recovery or Kernel is not SEANDROID Enforcing, you can ignore it. This is just telling you that you are not running Samsung stock software. It has no effect on recovery or the ROM itself nor related to either.
I don't support Xposed and any logcat which includes a Xposed module will be ignored. You're kindly invited to not report bugs if you:
Flashed a custom kernel
Installed or did mods from untrusted sources
Modified system files
Bootloader Information
You need to make sure you have a Lollipop bootloader installed or else your device won't boot. Here you can go grab the latest bootloader and odin and flash it in download mode. Read all the steps before you do this.
Make sure you have a full backup because just in case you something fails.
Here are the steps to flash this via ODIN:
Make sure you have a full backup because just in case you something fails. Here are the steps to flash this via ODIN.
Reboot your tablet into download mode. Do this by first switching off the phone, then pressing and holding the volume down + home button together and then pressing the power button. Press volume up button to enter download mode.
Open ODIN on your computer. You?ll see the ID:COM box turning yellow with a COM port number upon successful connection with the tablet.
In ODIN click the BL button, select the bootloader firmware. It's a tar file.
Make sure Auto Reboot & F. Reset Time options are selected in ODIN
Click on the start button. When the process is completed your phone will reboot.
Installation
Download the zip(s)
Install a compatible Recovery (This will not work with the P900 recovery)
--1.*I have built a new version of TWRP with the MM kernel. MTP, Vibations, ADB now work and there are performance increases. The rom will need to allow v2awifi naming for flashing in recovery. Link
Perform a nandroid backup of your current ROM (optional)
Wipe data/factory reset
Flash LineageOS
Install the Google Apps addon package (Optional)
Reboot

Thank you! I would like to report that vibration isn't working. Other than that, everything works great.

I will look into this. I am fairly confident I know what the fix is. Thanks for the feedback.

Hmmm...
I did wipe cache/dalvik cache/system and data with TWRP 2.8.7.0
and installed your cm-13.0-20161001-UNOFFICIAL-v2awifi.zip along with the open_gapps-arm-6.0-pico-20160925.zip (which I got as .ZIP for/from my Nexus 10)
After installing wiping cache/dalvik cache again and reboot system - but then after the SM-T900 Logo the screen is only blank.
No boot animation and no other sign that it will do something.
I could go to TWRP via Power+VolUp+Menue....
Do you got an Idea what went wrong?
[EDIT] also only the cm-13.0-20161001-UNOFFICIAL-v2awifi.zip without Open GApps gives me a black screen.
For now Iam back on CM 12.1 from the 09.07. and pico Open GApps from today.
Why was the SM-T900 files formerly named v2wifixx and now v2awifi? Could this be a problem for me?

guidol, try updating your bootloader, as per the OP.
TP, thanks much for your work on Tab/Note Pro 12.2.

Now it works - didnt read the part before the installtion carefully enough
@kutzman: read the part above the part of the installtion instruction:
Bootloader Information
You need to make sure you have a Lollipop bootloader installed or else your device won't boot.
I did this Bootloader-Part with Odin (Ok, on my device I has it to fo 2 times and 2 times it told me OK, but it did boot with a read Message about the Kernel in the 2nd try.
Now - after the seond try of the BootLoader-Flash my SM-T900 did boot - so I updated the TWRP via Flashify to the latest version (3.0.2.0) - but for that you have to enable root access in the developer options of CM13

Does look great the first version of the CM13 for the SM-T900 :good:
Sadly I can confirm the missing vibration.
But as I did promise you - I donated another $30 for the "working" version of CM13
I hope this will encourage your development on the SM-T900-Builds!

Thanks a lot to Guidol for being the most generous "facilitator", helping keep our great Tom in great spirit

Glad to see this rom!
Thank you for a working MM build for this amazing tablet, which I lost hope for any development. I appreciate all the hard work you put into getting this working!
I am having issues with the Play Store hanging at times and the File Manager not showing up properly and slowing down the device significantly
Getting a lot of issues regarding "Package Installer"
No Xposed installed*
Edit: tried multiple file managers from the Play Store and each have problems. No way to view files

Thanks for the reply
I have a clean installation and the exact same Gapps package installed.
Going to reflash and see keep an eye out for better results
Anyone else notice their tablet getting really hot? near the camera front and back.
Edit: Just reflashed using the Nano Gapps package and everything seems to be working great! will update if i run into anything. I had issues using the Pico version and wonder if that is suspect to the issues I was having. Any ideas?

Since the system partition in SM-T900 is quite large, I've always installed the STOCK package so it would remove most of the built-in stock/AOSP apps/tools and replace them with Google ones.
Also, with the STOCK package, I can still have access to useful Google apps even after a configuration reset, and without Google login (to download apps from Google PlayStore.)
Thanks,
Eric

I didnt got a problem with the EFS Explorer.
But for some access-methods you have to grant access-rights if the app/CM13 did ask.
And I got root-access enabled in the developer options.

I didnt got any Problems with the pico Open GApps.
But you have to install something like GMail afterwards to get the actual Google/Playstore Services as Update.
After that I only do install the Google-Appsvthat I want.
Love this feature not having some odd G-Services in the Background or in the System-Partition.
(and I also use the pico on my Nexus 10 with CM13 because there is the /system only 800MB in size)

CM 12 (L - Lollipop) for Nook Tablet (acclaim)

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 5 (Lollipop), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM

*
* Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
* cause of male impotence.
*/
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed.
This rom is for both the Nook Tablet 512M/8GB and 1GB/16GB versions. The device code name is "acclaim".
Prerequisites:
A recovery. To install a recovery when coming from a stock device, you need to prepare a special SD card. Installation instructions can be found here on xda.
Installation:
Grab a new recovery (e.g. here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u...cclaim-eng-recovery-UNOFFICIAL-20150606.0.img) and flash it with fastboot.
If you have a CM 10.1 or CM 11 installed, flash the new recovery and try the updater, otherwise download the zip from nightlies, boot to CWM and flash it.
Once a version is installed (and all bugs fixed), you will be able to use CM Updater
Settings->About tablet->CyanogenMod updates->Refresh
THE NEW NIGHTLIES HAVE EMULATED STORAGE ENABLED. YOU LOOSE ALL YOUR DATA. MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP!!!! THE INTERNAL EMMC 1GB PARTITION IS ALSO NOT ACCESSIBLE ANYMORE. COPY THE CONTENT. THE EXTERNAL SDCARD IS NOT USED ANYMORE AS PRIMARY STORAGE. ALL APP DATA ON THE SDCARD WILL BE LOST. I ALSO RECOMMEND TO WIPE.
BACKUP!
RE-PARTITIONING IS NOT MANDATORY. IF YOU WANT TO RECLAIM THE 1GB PARTITION (called media) YOU CAN TRY TO FOLLOW THE RE-PARTITION GUIDE:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wSAaAZfQcnvkiHKlbZ7_H1h67m2kx0mq-p3Wjgue3qA/edit?usp=sharing
PLEASE COMMENT ON THE DOCUMENT IF SOMETHING IS NOT CLEAR.
Building:
The CM wiki explains that here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Build_for_acclaim
Returning to stock BN firmware:
If you have installed above rom and the CWM recovery and you really hate it and want to go back to stock, you may wish to try to flash the original acclaim_update.zip from BN. You have to unzip that file and edit META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script. Drop the first two lines here:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "blaze" ||
getprop("ro.build.product") == "blaze");
Zip the package again. Then go to recovery, flash the zip, wipe, and reboot.
Support:
For any issues encountered, please post into this forum, but add steps to reproduce and dmesg, logcat and audit.log information. If you don't know what this is or how to get them, try to find that out first before posting here.
Thanks:
hashcode, ntemis, kuzma30, fattire, mik_os, chrmhoffmann, and many others that contribute to cyanogenmod and especially this version.
kuzma30 - great kernel job
hashcode - we have reused lots of your work and effort for the various omap devices (esp kindle fire). It is thanks to you mainly that we are now official CM device. Also many thanks for the L bringup help.
mik_os - great touchscreen firmware flasher and other efforts
fattire - for helping us everywhere he can
ntemis - thanks for giving so much energy to this - esp for 4.4 and L I have copied lots of things from you
DISCLAIMER:
- update the CWM if you come from older versions - otherwise you'll see funny error messages when installing zip
- It is possible that you need to wipe your device. I did not do that, but...
- Also you must flash gapps. It can be found somewhere....
ATTENTION: IT SEEMS THAT DHACKER'S L GAPPS ARE TOO BIG TO FIT INTO THE SYSTEM PARTITION. Try to find a smaller one.
- The SELINUX policies are enforced now.
Known issues:
- system partition is too small for full gapps. use a mini gapp package.
- the touchscreen firmware flasher doesn't work on L. Use CM11 to flash it first.
Recently fixed:
- f2fs
- kernel updated to latest 3.0 stable
- developer settings and setup wizard (if you select backup) crash. that's fixed in nightly from 8-FEB-15.
- device encryption does work now (but who wants to do that? the device is laggy enough already )
- cmupdate / cm recovery: adb reboot recovery and cmupdater and auto install. Hopefully this is fixed now (not in nice way, but...). You need sdcard inserted to make this work (but I guess everybody has that anyway).
Get it from
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=acclaim
Get ENG recovery from here. It allows to adb into recovery even when data is wiped.

Amazing work Chris, Let the flashing begin.
Been waiting for this for quite a while! I can put off learning to build for another few months!
For gapps, I recommend TKRuzze's Gapps. (Just search for them on Google.) His Pico-Gapps package is pretty lightweight.
UPDATE: Couldn't flash with the provided recovery. I was able to flash it successfully using TWRP 2.8.4.0 though.
Hi,
Odd. I flashed the same (before uploading).
Did you upgrade recovery? Did you check md5 of download?

Download the latest version, rename it to "recovery.img". Flash it in fastboot.
If you'd rather not go that route, download a flashable of an older version of TWRP, use 7zip to delete the recovery.img in that folder, then move this new TWRP into that folder. Then flash that.

Same issue here ... used TWRP ... everything seems to work except I don't have an SD card ... which is a deal breaker for this tablet.
UPDATE: Used the wrong GAPPS the first time ... working fine now ... sluggish, but nothing seems to be broken ... and I didn't do a factory reset ... just cache/davlik cache clear then flash

Kickass! Thank you to every dev who made it possible for Android L to be on NT!
Question: is it absolutely mandatory to install Google's crapware Gapps? I use F-Droid on all my other Android devices. They run much lighter.
---------- Post added at 10:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:23 PM ----------
Edit: It works without Gapps. Also, bug found: if you enable development settings, when you tap on developer options, it says "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped"
Edit2: Kodi (XBMC) for Android does not work. Says "Cannot parse CPU features." Didn't happen on CM11.
Tell me more about this F-Droid ... what does it gain me over GAPPs? Performance?

Google's apps come with Google's playstore, sync services, etc, which add overhead to wi-fi and CPU cycles.
F-droid doesn't have those services. It's pretty much like a Linux package manager--you use it to install and keep track of open source packages.
Besides, I only use my phones and tablets for Kodi and phone calls. I'm not into Google Hangouts or YouTube, etc. I don't take pictures, I don't use the GPS...
IMO, I find Android to be completely useless. I wish there was a completely open source and open hardware Linux running phone. With Linux, you can do whatever you want.
I had to go back to CM11 ... superuser appears to be broken when I go to CM12 ... is there a fix for this?

I haven't installed cm12 on my nook tablet yet, but on other cm12 installs, you have to enable superuser in Settings / Developer options / Root access. Click one of the boxes other than the default "Disabled". If that doesn't work, some folks swear by SuperSU, which you can find in the Play Store

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][KitKat 4.4.4][SM-T530NU] CyanogenMod 11 [04/26/2015]

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KK), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
------------THIS IS AN UNOFFICIAL UNSUPPORTED BUILD-----------
This is my attempt at porting CyanogenMod 11 to the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. I use a SM-T530NU, so that is the only device I have tested.
Any other device variations have not been tested and are at your own risk. I will not be able to support other variations as I don't own them for testing.
Special thanks to MetaIIica - I have been using his Alpha build of PAC-ROM KitKat since December. I studied the code for that, along with stock and some other ROMs before starting this port. This is my first time doing any work with Android, so I'm not sure if I'm technically doing things correctly or not.
I know CyanogenMod 12 is under development already, but I have decided to do a CM11 based build in hopes of a making a stable daily driver offering. I have fixed many of the issues present that were present in the PAC-ROM build. They can probably be backported to PAC-ROM easily if its built with my tree, but I prefer the plain CM-based offering myself.
You may get the source of my changes for this ROM on my github. If you'd like to help and submit a patch, feel free to open a pull request. You will of course be credited accordingly.
See below for instructions, what's working, and issues I fixed over the PAC-ROM Alpha.
For any bug reports or feature requests, please use the appropriate tabs at the top of the thread. Please include as much information as possible and if possible a logcat or other debug information in the case of bugs. Requests for supporting other device variations will not be honored - sorry,
Feedback and constructive criticism is always appreciated. I hope you enjoy using the ROM; if you use the ROM, please consider leaving a thanks, rating, and/or review

- Flash CM11 ZIP
- Flash GApps zip from SDCard
- Reboot
UPGRADING
-In general, you should be able to just flash over the previous build, but if you encounter any weird issues please clean using the steps above
Working that I've tested:
Audio: Speakers, Headphones, Bluetooth
Bluetooth
CIFS/NFS (Network File Systems - see notes below)
Front Camera
GPS
IR Blaster [SM-T530NU Only]
Magnetic Cover Sleep/Wake
MTP
Rear Camera
USB OTG
Video (w/ Hardware Decoding)

NOTE ON BUTTONS: This ROM is configured to use the hardware buttons-- so you won't see the software buttons taking up space at the bottom of the screen, as they are disabled. This is not a bug. Use the hardware buttons, as they are the same. If you really want the software buttons for some reason, edit /system/build.prop, change qemu.hw.mainkeys to 0, save, and reboot. If you map the menu button to a long press of another button, some apps such as TitaniumBackup will count this as a hardware key and hide their soft menu button - but only after a reboot.
NOTE ON CIFS/NFS: Many of the mounting utilities on the play store are outdated and broken due to changes in the linux kernel. For best luck, mount using the command line. For CIFS, you can tweak CIFSManager into working - see this thread

Congratulations ! :good:
Nice ROM, it installed fine on my T530 will test some more, thanks for the hard work
I got this installed but the back button and recents button didn't work at all. Its a fast rom though but it would be nice if it was a barebones CyanogenMod without the Pac Rom extras installed too.
Time for a new test, i'll test it in my t530 and report back the results.

It is a pure Cyanogenmod without the Pac extras. If you're seeing them, make sure you did a full wipe before flashing as noted in the original post - you may have remnants of PAC-ROM in /system. The best way is to use PhilZ option to "Clean to Install a new ROM" as that wipes everything correctly. That could also be causing your issues with the back button as well. I completely rebuilt the device tree for this rom over the pac build, as that was based on MSM8974 when this is an MSM8226 device. If a full wipe wasn't done, you have stuff for the other device tree in /system that will mess things up. If the issue persists after a full wipe, please let me know what varient of 530 you're using, and pastebin a logcat of what happens when you press the back or recent events buttons.

I always completely wipe everything before installing a new rom. Never wiping the tablet before installing a new rom might cause problems. I no longer have the rom installed. I will install it again and see if it was just a flike that it didnt work properly the last time. I also have Philz recovery installed because its the only one that has full brightness on the screen.
Simply great. Everything i need works great. Finally a kitkat aosp rom that given me everything i need. Flashed in TWRP on a t530 (wifi only) and running perfectly fine. Good job mate. If you want me to test anything on t530 just tell me.
Btw, otg works, so my usb keyboard is working.
Otg works, YouTube and twitch.tv works, BT works, rotation works, camera works, xposed works, everything i have tested works

Thanks! Glad to hear that it is working well for you. I believe the only difference between the SM-T530 and the SM-T530NU is the the NU has an IR blaster, which I haven't actually enabled yet. I need to figure out how to test that because I never use it. After i do that and post a build with IR, it will be useful if you check and make sure it doesn't break the regular 530. Those two from what I can tell are vary similar, its more of any celluar varients that I would be worried about, because this is build for wifi only..
Let me know if you find anything broken
I got this to work properly. I have one question though. Is there a way to get youtube working without having all the other GAPPS rubbish installed. I noticed that the tablet got slower as soon as I installed GAPPS. The tablet flies along without GAPPS installed and I only want youtube working without all that other rubbish bogging down the tablet.

To be honest, I'm not sure - you could try copying the Youtube APK off of the device and then side-loading it on a fresh install without installing all of GAPPs, but I'm not sure if that will just prompt you to install all of them or not if you do that.
Are there particular use cases you are noticing are slower? I did not really notice any difference with or without GAPPs, other than the initial boot time as they were unpacked and installed. If there are particular situations that cause this, then we could dump some logs to see if there is something that could or needs to be optimized.

I have youtube backed up with all my other apps with Titanium Backup and when I try running youtube without GAPPS it fails and a popup states Youtube has failed to start (or something similar) and if I install the GAPPS I have which is older than the version that is needed it tells me that google needs to be updated. So then I update that and tried freezing the google apps I dont want or use but youtube fails.

The whole tablet is slightly slower with GAPPS installed. I've opened a gapps zip with WINRAR and removed some of what I dont want and only left whats needed for play store to run so it improved a bit.
Hi,
I didn't try it for now...
But thanks for the good work!!
For the Gapps, have you try PAGapps?
It has different package with a lot of options.
The smallest one should be around 136Mo. You can also remove some apk with a config file.
All other apps are available on Play Store...

I used an aroma based gapps. You can install only what you need. About using YouTube without gapps, i dont know if tubemate could do the trick. Use aptoide to install it if you dont like play store. Here is the link for the aroma gapps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2547250

It has something to do with the lighting detection or some other initial initialization that I haven't figured out yet, but as a workaround if you toggle between camcorder mode and back it'll brighten up.

Tested and working fine. Is a nice workaround. I dont mind about this bug as I only use front camera for Skype and such things, but im glad this workaround is pretty easy and fast

Hi Everyone,
I updated the original post with a new build. This build should fix the lighting issues with the rear camera the first time it is used. After I debugged the mode switching with logcat I was able to find out what the issue was. I also am working on reducing dependencies on vendor libs where possible by getting more of the modules that can be built from source building from source.
I've started exploring IR blaster support for NU users and I am continuing to look for a solution for bluetooth audio, but I don't have either yet. Stay tuned for future updates
If you already installed the ROM most times you should be able to flash over it, but if you see anything weird after, try wiping to confirm if its a bug or weirdness after upgrading (you can always nandroid before wiping if you're unsure and roll back if its not related to upgrading).
Please let me know if you find any issues. Include model number and if possible a logcat as well.
Enjoy!
Congrats starlightknight!
Anyone tried this on the SM-T530?

INTRODUCTION:
Hello!
I'm Robert, an satisfied and happy user of the Samsung Galaxy J5 ( J500FN), but somehow bored of it since it doesn't have any custom rom or kernel, in few words, xda support. At begin, i was planning to build Cyanogenmod or AOSP and an custom kernel with minimal features, but i lack the knowledge to do it, but it's not impossible, just that i have alot of headache and i'm not that happy with that. I was also planning to do an custom rom too, with many features and many themes available, this is easier, but again alot of headache. I can't promise i would do these, but i may try again to make a better custom rom.
So, here is Stock ROM Advanced. It's just an simple rom, nothing more yet. Check out the features section for more informations.Screenshots attached ( switch XDA theme to 2013 or 2015 theme from bottom of page and click on Screenshots tab if you can't see them.
Please share this XDA thread since Galaxy J5 doesn't have it's own xda forum...
FEATURES:
- Based on firmware J500FNXXU1AOI1_J500FNDBT1AOI2_J500FNXXU1AOI1
- Pre-Rooted with SuperSU (v2.66)
- Busybox installed (v1.24.1-osm0sis)
- Zipaligned all system apps (for better utilization of RAM) - What mean this? <--- click
- Deodexed - What mean this? <--- click
- Debloated - removed some samsung apps and some other unecessary apps for more RAM, more internal memory available and less wakelocks (so more battery). More info about removed apps in post #2.
- Knox removed
- Faster boot & shutdown
- Faster than stock? You tell me

That's all the features it has now. Is just an custom rom based on stock rom, with some minimal changes, but improving the daily experience, at least for me. I can't promise, but maybe in future i will make it more than an simple rom, with more features. I repeat, can't promise it. I have decided to add more features in next version.
DOWNLOAD:
Stock_ROM_Advanced <<< click. Just mediafire link for now.
DO NOT MIRROR THE ROM. IF YOU WANT AN MIRROR, LET ME KNOW AND I WILL UPLOAD IT TO THE WEBSITE YOU WISH since i have good network! Thank you!
INSTALLATION:
(it's actually easy to install it, but i've wrote it this way because there may be new people to XDA which just wish the rom and doesn't want to bother by searching to how to do it)
1. Download the rom and put it on your External SD Card ( make sure you have enough space).
2. Download this TWRP recovery: TWRP recovery by @aapav01 - more info about this recovery at CREDITS
You can also use TWRP 3.0 by [MENTION]Nick Verse [/MENTION]which is fully working. Big thanks to him as well. If you didn't know yet, he also made a KERNEL for our J5
3. Download ODIN program. I'm using v3.09
4. Enable the OEM unlock bootloader option at developer options (if you can't see Developer Options, then go to Settings > About phone and tap 7 times build number).
5. Reboot your phone in download mode by keeping pressing Power button + home button + volume DOWN button at same time for few seconds. After an blue screen will appear, press volume up button.
6. Connect your phone with usb cable to your PC.
7. Open ODIN program and an number should appear at ID:COM. If it doesn't, then make sure that the phone usb drivers are installed.
8. Click on AP or PDA ( according to the version of odin which you downloaded) and choose the TWRP recovery you've downloaded and click START. Wait until the process finish.
9. Now go to TWRP recovery by keeping pressing Power button + home button + volume UP button at same time for few seconds.
10. Choose Wipe, then Advanced wipe and choose Dalvik Cache, System, Data and Cache and then Swipe to wipe.
11. Now choose Install and go to the place where you did put the ROM and choose it. Wait till installation finish and DON'T REBOOT YET.
12. Flash GAPPS. I use Open Gapps, ARM 5.1.1 pico version. http://opengapps.org/ . It's XDA thread is HERE .
13. Wipe dalvk cache & cache.
14. Reboot & WAIT 5-10 minutes until it boot!. Only first boot is longer. NOTE: When you reboot, if it ask you for SuperSU choose "do not install".
15. If you followed all the steps carefully, then everything will be OK. Enjoy

Flashing GAPPS is required because if you don't you will be stuck at setup wizard. This issue is probably caused by one of the removed apps. However, it won't cause any other problem. So, flashing GAPPS is a must right after you flash the rom, but you can remove them if you wish after you finish Setup Wizard.
CREDITS:
@SuperR. for his nice and useful kitchen.
@aapav01 for the TWRP recovery. Big thanks to him because without the recovery, you couldn't even flash the rom!
@osm0sis for busybox
@Chainfire for SuperSU
@Force me, for doing this small rom
Pressing the THANKS button does give me some satisfaction/motivation

FAQ / TIPS
1. How do i install Xposed Framework?

This is a list of confirmed working modules until now:

- APM+
- Gpm notification seek bar[L-M]
- ScreenOffAnimation
- Android Phone Vibrator
- Flat Style Bar Indicators
- Greenify
- NoSafeVolumeWarning
- Notification Manager
Thank you:
@22rp420 @nov01 for confirming some xposed modules!
If you know more xposed modules which are working on our phone, share with us!
2. My phone is running slow / has lag. Why?
My phone haven't lag or ran slow never and i'm using Power Saving mode all the time.
Use Greenify app to hibernate the apps which are running in background. Maybe you don't want Facebook or other apps running in background, eating RAM and battery while you use your phone or while your phone is in idle/standby. Then Greenify become useful. It does help gaining some more available RAM and also battery.
Also, don't use any Task killer because it is not necessary. It just does the opposite: make the phone run slow.
3. My battery drain too fast!
People use phone different. Everyone. My best SOT (screen on time) was 13 hours. Maybe you can or can't achieve that SOT. It all depends of how you use the phone.
The biggest battery drainer on Android are:
- Facebook app, facebook messenger
- Google Services
Greenify does help gaining battery too.
You should install BetterBatteryStats app to see what is draining your battery.
Personally, i'm using facebook in browser and i enable play services when i need them. I disable them with Tasker app by running some shell commands. Of course, you can do this with init.d too or some other apps. I will share the shell commands which i'm using later. I have maximum 10 minutes wakelocks in BetterBatteryStats widget and my battery doesn't drain even 1% per night.

I don't have any issue with the WiFi, but I think that the problem might be caused by WlanTest which I've removed it.
Later, I'll post here an flashable zip which does bring the WlanTest back and hopefully Wifi gets fixed.
Thank you both for reporting this!

I'm sorry for being late and also that i haven't made an flashable zip. I uploaded an zip file containing the WlanTest.apk.
1) Download WlanTest zip and extract the zip on your sdcard.
2) After you extracted the zip, you will have an folder named WlanTest and inside the folder WlanTest.apk. Use an file explorer with root and move the folder WlanTest to /system/app.
3) Set permission for the folder like this: http://i.imgur.com/gin3axj.png .
4) Set permission for WlanTest.apk from inside of folder like this: http://i.imgur.com/NXy772e.png .

I was quite busy on working on the rom. Starting from next version, the rom will have a new name. It will also be themed, will have it's own logo and own bootanimation and more. Don't wanna spoil
I see that this thread has 600+ views already which is nice to see it

This is a port of OMNIRom 6.0.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (2016) LTE SM-T285. OMNI is a minimalist ROM created by devs from the CM project.
5.1.1 is the best that you can get from samsung right now and it is not known if they plan to do any upgrades. I have absolutely no idea why samsung chose to stay with the outdated 5.1.1 mid 2016 when we already got 7.1 coming out. This custom rom is probably the best you can get if you want an upgrade from Lollipop. Performance on the latest build is also better, you be the judge.
Though this is stable enough that I use it currently as my daily driver, make sure you read the pending issues below and decide if this is acceptable to you before you flash this rom. This rom probably won't get much use out of some people until bluetooth is fixed.
Based off on OMNIRom 6.0.1 MOB31K sources which is based on Marshmallow.
For more information on OMNIRom and its features see their site here.

Update Dec 8, 2016
===============
* Fixed sideloading apks from internal sd card
* Fixed selection of preferred network mode
* Enable soft navigation bar (googe now on tap should work with this)
* Adjust heap settings
Works:
- Wifi/LTE/SMS (Some users report data intermittently not connecting, though toggling airplane mode on/off can fix it)
- Audio
- Graphics with glitches (minor screen tearing, blank screen showing up on overlays)
- Camera (works if a third party camera app is used. Does not work on the stock camera app)
- Bluetooth
- GPS
- Wifi Hotspot
- Incoming/Outgoing Calls
- MTP
Does not work:
- Calls (Incoming)
-- MTP (Browse Only)
- probably more (need testers)
Bugs/Known Issues
* Bluetooth A2DP streaming issues when both bluetooth and Wifi is on and network traffic is occuring. There are reports that this also happens in order ROMs, not sure if stock also has this issue.
* Screen turns upside down for a brief moment when turning off the device.
* Unable to select preferred network mode e.g. LTE, 3G, 2G (fixed 12/08/2016)
* Error while entering USSD code in the dailer
* Unable to tap to install apks for sideloading (see workaround below)(fixed 12/08/2016)
* Problems recording video
Other Notes:
- selinux permissive
Most of the issues are fixable, I just need more time and encouragement
SM-T280 Users: Unfortunately this rom would probably not work on it since the SM-T285 and SM-T280 have different kernels and slightly different hardware. I don't have access to this device so it would be hard for me to port it over. However I believe there are a lot of similiarities in the device tree that can be shared. If a dev with the SM-T280 is interested I can probably help.
Download
========
Remember flashing an unofficial ROM on your samsung device will probably void your warranty, Samsung representatives will probably not be able to help you as they are still stuck at 5.1.1 land as of now and have no idea how to handle a Sm-T285 that is running 6.0.1.
As always flash this at your own risk. Make sure you have a copy of the stock ROM so that you have something to fall back to, which is highly the case when using an experimental rom.
See DevDB download section for older releases. Or click below for the latest release:
Build Dec 9 2016
Note that this rom is pure stock and does not come with the Play Store or any Gapps, I suggest you download a micro gapps package separately and install it via recovery.
There have been reports that recent versions of open gapps don't work properly, it is advised to use older versions instead (e.g. open_gapps-arm-6.0-nano-20161109.zip)
Installation Instructions
==================
Perform a backup of all of your important files. This ROM is experimental and I will not be responsible for your loss of data.
Download the zip file and extract the tar.
Use Odin/Heimdall to flash the tar file to your device. If you are coming from stock oranother rom make sure you wipe first using TWRP. Coming from a previous version of OMNIRom for SM-T285 may not require a wipe, however please perform a wipe if you encounter problems.
Root and customization
===================
This ROM is a purely based on source and is not rooted out of the box. However you can easily root it by using TWRP to install the latest version of SuperSU.
If you want to customize this ROM and repackage it you may use this guide as a reference.
Workaround for apk install issue
=========================
Due to a possible bug with how sdcardfs is implemented in this device, apks downloaded externally and placed in external storage like Download show the apk is corrupt error when trying to install it.
however you can do a workaround by having root and doing the following:
1. Root your device (Download SuperSU and install via TWRP)
2. Download root file explorer
3. Using root file explorer move your apk to /data/local/tmp or create a folder under /data/local and move it there
4. Install the apk from that location and it should work.
Note that apps downloaded from the play store or install using "adb install" are not affected and works properly.

Thanks for releasing. Will definitely try it out if time permits.
I hope you will keep at this. This device needs marshmallow..
Great ROM! It is surprisingly usable, even at this stage of development, and feels far faster than stock. In addition to the bugs you mentioned, I also found out that apps will not install. Attempts at installation trigger a 'this package seems to be corrupt' error. Did anyone else encounter this problem?

No, via Odin. I even thought I had made a mistake at some point during the installation process, so I repeated it twice, once with Gapps, and once without, but the problem persisted.

But for an initial release, this is surprisingly good.

Installation Instructions:
If coming from stock, make sure you oem unlock first in developer settings. A full wipe is required so make sure you backup all your data.
Extract Zip and flash using ODIN or Heimdall. A TWRP recovery c/o @ashyx and repacked by me for the T285 is included in the package.
If you plan to install a GApps package it is recommended to do a full wipe so make sure you do that before you start using the device.

Many thanks for your hardwork jedld
build 20161104 is now available. GPS and bluetooth should now be fixed. Most of the hardware support for the SM-T285 seems to be working on a basic level, I am now attempting to use it as my daily driver.
Though bluetooth seems to work I haven't tested all possible bluetooth profiles yet, so keep your fingers crossed.
The remaining major issues are being unable to make/receive calls, Graphics overlay issues, being unable to play some video content in facebook (not sure if DRM related or Graphics related) and MTP.
There are also minor issues related to battery monitoring and screen flipping when going into low power mode.
I don't usually use this tablet to make/recieve calls so I am currently fixing graphics as a priority.
I use this tablet as a phone constantly so please get the calls working!! Great job so far!!!

1. Great job! In the course of testing, I bumped into a very odd problem; apps from the Play Store install just fine, but the apks I have saved on both the internal memory and the memory card will not. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem? How do I solve it? Thanks in advance. I installed the ROM via Odin
2. The WiFi hotspot is not working

Nice catch on the wifi hotspot.
For the apk installation problem, yes I am able to replicate it, turns out to be some permissions I incorrectly set for the filesystem, will investigate. However note that using adb install works fine.

I tried installing both the previous and current releases using adb, but for some reason, that didn't work.
I suspect the problem is at my end, though. I'll use another computer, see if that will solve the problem.
Thanks for the prompt response, and for the work that you're doing.
New build released for 11132016, main fixes are wifi hotspot, outgoing calls and partial MTP fix (still broken though).
I use this phone for business..when you fix for incoming phone calls...I'm downloading!!! Thanks for your hard work

1. Compared with the previous build, scrolling feels faster
2. A personal favorite; it is possible to enable softkeys without triggering system UI errors
3. Just like in the previous build, apks stored on the internal memory or microSD will not install if the ROM is loaded via Odin. Apps from the Play Store install just fine, though, and the problem completely disappears when the ROM is installed via ADB
For the Nov 21 release, all major issues have been fixed except for MTP. Graphics issues have also been fixed, expect a major performance boost, No promises but the user experience should be superior to that of stock, and I haven't even compiled for a release build yet. This release should be good enough as a daily driver assuming its ok for you to have SeLinux in permissive mode.

It will be hard to go into details, but to make it simple it is less secure than a build with with selinux enabled. Since this is still a development build if security equivalent to stock is a concern of yours, I suggest waiting until I compile a proper release build.

Error flashed on screen on reboot
I am getting 'There's an internal problem with your device. Contact your manufacturer for detail.' error on every reboot. I've flashed the 'BL_T825XXU3CSH9_CL16530048_QB25611745_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5' bootloader but still facing the issue.

Do custom ROMs have to have palm rejection added? It's not normal feature?
This would be good to know as I got this device to use the pen!
I notice that screen is very hard to wake up. I have to play all buttons in random combination to be able to bring up lock screen. Once it get unlocked, everything works find.
I did once get system UI locked error. I have to push all buttons to force it reboot.
So I tested this rom on my T820 Wifi and in my opinion it works pretty stable, except of some issues I recognised:
- Saving pictures does not work. The pictures I get are scrambled.
- sd cards in ntfs format not working
- Palm rejection is not working
- ed xposed causes boot into download mode
- screen wakup is sometimes slow
- Viper4Android is not working
- Speaker only working on one site (right)
- it's not possible to rename SD Card or uninstall any system app like mail-app via root
- Netflix is not working
- Not possible to activate a custom notification sound
- Adaway only working with systemless host activated in magisk
- trying to use miracast causes a complete crash of system ui and makes a reboot necessary
- digital wellbeing randomly fc if settings menu is open
- sometimes hardware buttons stuck and i have to wait 5 sec until I can use them again
Thanks for your work!
*update: On second build same issues and camera just force close, now
did anyone figure out how to get the camera to work. It takes pictures but to view them they all look scribble.

Not working on second build for me
Now for the *REAL* question, does this ROM cause graphical glitches when you run a 3D load and heat the processor up to 100c?! That was my experience various unofficial LOS16/RR based Pie builds. I get temps in the worst case up to 97c under extreme load on the stock OneUI ROM, but normally it is way LOWER. Could someone (with the performance level in the power settings set to max) test games like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.PnA.Offroad and some heavier ones for an extended period of time, and maybe some benchmarks (AnTuTu, 3DMark, etc...) while watching the CPU temp and General SoC temp with a temp guage overlay (like the one in the paid option on DevCheck).

Don't expect that anything on this rom will fixed soon.
Always the same with this dev. He releases a build with issues, then he ignores all issue reports and only releases sometimes a new build with security updates and nothing more. I wish a had wait a little bit and bought a tab s5e, because it seems to be the only new Samsung tab with fully working custom roms and palm rejection.
Better you use stock rom for tab s3.

Not sure if answered but I fixed this by:
Copying the complete line ro.vendor.build.fingerprint.................. from the /system/build.prop file.
Paste replacing the line ro.vendor.build.fingerprint.................. in the /vendor/build.prop file.
These files crosscheck each other looking for this line. The files must be from different builds.
