[Q] Dell Streak Fastboot in Chromium

Does anyone know of any guides to access fastboot through Chromium, or linux in general for that matter? The only ones I've been able to find are all Windows related.
Are there drivers available for Chromium, or does it require it at all?
Sent from my Dell Streak using xda premium
Hy,
It's easier to run a virtual pc under linux maybe under chronium (i dont known it's possible).
After this take several manuals here in the forum about fastboot with streak
Simple method also start xp on a usb-stick and so on

Chromium is a web browser. You would have to use either a dos command prompt or the Linux terminal if you want to use fastboot.

I'm sure that it can be done natively in Linux, The phone goes into fastboot mode when plugged into the Acer Aspire One Netbook I'm running Chromium on, downloaded in CROSH or SHELL as I'm a linux noob.
Moreover I don't own a copy of XP to install on a virtualbox and don't want to use any hookie software
MultiRecoveryFlasher has versions that include linux shell scripts. Even if you don't want to use MRF you could DL it and look at it to see how to use fastboot with Linux.
Judging from your OP you probably should not be trying to mod your phone.
Chromium is also an OS - see here and here

Thanks for your words of warning... I've flashed this thing with pretty much every ROM since about 1.4.1, although I've not tried the multiflasher, I'm currently downloading it to give it a go.
The problem i'm having is finding where chromium downloads to and how to access it from shell.
Also Chromium doesn't have support for rar or zip files so i am having to upload to google docs to access the relevant files

Convert phone to linux distro

I know i can install a linux distro over Android using emulation or whatever, but its a freakin waste of resources to run two systems at once. Would it be possible to convert an old phone like this to linux without wasting resources blatantly? A console with working linux console apps will be fine too ((((((

It's hard to figure out exactly what you want from that six-word question, so I will just state two somewhat related tools that you may find useful - but if not - please ignore these two features.
1. Windows 11 runs Android natively, and,
2. Most linux distros run native on Android within Termux.
