[SOLVED] [Xposed] I want to install it, how? - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I've been reading on forums (reading comments here and there) and getting some infos, that I need to flash a custom boot.img and xposed apk for xPosed to work on Honor 7.
Can someone get me the exact info and links where I can get the files? I've read that with Honor 7 we can get bootloop, is it fixed yet?
Also, why is the custom boot.img needed for this?
I currently have Stock ROM B380 (Android 6.0, EMUI 4) with Root and TWRP.
Thank you alot,
joaom

With stock firmware you will face problems. I have tried everything to make it work including custom boot and Xposed, supersu and systemless Xposed, magisk and Xposed and other stuff. It always has some problem.
Only solution as stated by @DigiGoon in his modded rom thread and verified by @HonorCasper is to use Pure Rom by DogiGoon. (I only came across this solution, may be there are others)

Hey,
Thanks for your reply. That doesnt seem to be a problem for me... 2 days ago I had to do a clean install of the stock ROM, because I had a soft-brick.
Do you know if is possible to flash that modded rom without loosing all my apps? I didnt want to install everything from zero again.
Thank you again

You can install any Marshmallow based ROM over your current 6.0 stock ROM, you'll not loose your apps.

Nope, you can dirty flash it over your existing firmware, remember to choose DigiKernel over stock kernel as that is the main thing.
Go ahead and let us know how did it go for you.

Custom boot.img like the one in DigiKernel, is patched for rooting and Xposed framework, in short it is made unsecure to get to work with SuperSU flashable zip, unlike the stock boot.img, so it is required to use the patched boot.img, you can also use patched stock's boot.img.
Sent from my PLK-L01 using Tapatalk

Thank you for the replies. So I gotta use patched boot.img, alright.
What do I need to flash first? Modded rom or custom boot?
1) I still get official OTA updates with modded rom? (I know if I got TWRP, I gotta flash stock recovery to install updates. is it the same with custom rom?)
2) Do I need to re-flash again SuperSU after flashing yhe new rom, or does that rom come with SU by default?
Thank you both

You can read the features on the ROM's respective threads. And all the ROMs will have patched boot.img to my knowledge.

After flashing the ROM flash this and then install this. Then you'll be able to use Xposed Modules.
And yes flash zip and the Aroma installer will pop up.
Good Luck!

I think I can help you with how to install Xposed framework on CM12.1
I find out about this in a thread hosted by @romracer. The framework actually created for other phones on android 5.0 but when I try installing it works.
1. Download the file.
https://mega.nz/#!JMkXlTKC!O-5wPvP410O2J88hPDAKGFE8Cd___Uh3uS2DfVBSBLQ
2. Unzip it and move the file to Sdcard.
3. Install Xposed installer.
4. Reboot recovery
5. Clear cache & dalvik cache.
6. install xposed-v71-sdk22 arm-by-romracer-20150816.zip
7. Reboot.. (Rebooting may take a while) enjoy..
If you want to uninstall. Just flash xposed uninstaller thru recovery
P.S. you can also install it on other CM12.1 base roms
& I'm just sharing
Thanks to @romracer for this

[ROM] [MBO30H] Optimized Stock Rom (Debloated, Odex, Aroma Installer!)

Welcome to my new thread!
I have just created a new custom rom which is based of stock android. The rom is Debloated, Odexed and has Layers support! I use this rom as my daily driver. The battery life and the performance is brilliant!
I´ve also added Layers support. Because of some problems with SuperSU you have to flash it manually.
Features

> Busybox

Got it to work earlier than I thought
Using right now, it's running nicely
Just a sugestion, to be "100% debloated" I think it would be better to remove from this rom Cabinet, Jair Player and AdAway, the two firsts can be downloaded from the PlayStore and it's not hard to find the apk of AdAway
I will remove this apps and I make them optional in the new release as flashable zip

I was able to install the ROM and a custom kernel. Tried to root and it will not boot. Just hangs at the Marshmallow screen. I installed as secondary in MultiROM. Tried Super SU 2.61, and the install hangs at boot.img Also tried SuperSU 2.52, which installed, but then hangs at the Marshmallow screen.
If you install SuperSU 2.61 in the recovery it says you that your device is not rooted but you need to ignore this and do not install SuperSU in the recovery because that bricks your device maybe that was the fault. I will test this tommorow on my own and give you information about that
Strange, I loaded your rom and the root zip but a few of my apps still say my phone isn't rooted. Quick reboot, rom manager, and trimmer. The rest of my “root " apps work fine. SD Maid, titanium backup, volume boost pro, all seem to work.

Here is the kernel with the DRM patch from tobias.waldvogel . Maybe you ask the dev how to do: http://forum.xda-developers.com/x-compact/development/advanced-stock-kernel-twrp-xperia-x-t3464685
After installation no root. Supersu is here, but there is no root installed.
I think we need a rooted kernel, what we can push trough adb fastboot. Because the partitions doesnt mount in TWRP.
Recovery Tested on F5122 But Device not boot after Flash Recovery.img
Ok.
I flashed TWRP through fastboot, turnt the phone off and than i was going into TWRP with the button combination.
I can´t wipe anything because th partitions dont mount.
Than i flashed the rom.
Many failures are shown, but at the end, the rom was flashed and was booting 2 times.
The rom runs good and fast, but there was no root. Supersu can´t find root.
I tryed to root several times with different zips, and was able to root the phone with BETA-SuperSU-v.74-2-20160519174328.zip.
Than i realized that the kernel was not permissive. I can´t install the driver from viber4android.
So i was going back to MM.
Thanks for the rom, but i think you have to build a rooted and permissive kernel with DRM thing etc., than it would be a real great rom.

Flash Viper4android from TWRP and you'll see it works great. About Supersu I have not problem with it - binary update great. And about errors on script - can you share any Log? Cos I have tested that rom with other people and they don't have any problems... Anyway I will reload new build with some fixes now.

Hey man,
do you know if xposed is working on the stock rom? My model G965F s9+ duos with root (magisk) and TWRP.
I ended up in a bootloop
Is there any custom rom which has all of samsungs features and more. I don't wanna loose the camera features.
Strange.

That is strange I had everything on stock rom for a while and then went over to Havoc OS.
1. TWRP
2. Install root.
3. Install xposed zip. !!NB Make sure to flash the zip for your device AND OS version.
4. IF that failes, flash root zip over xposed.
Xposed works with gravity box.
My steps of making it work:
TWRP
Magisk Root
Flash Soldier Rom
Flash AGFK KERNEL
re flash Magisk
From magisk modules load xposed SDK 26, install apk sugested from menu, then reboot and activate module.
Now you have a systemless working xposed.
