TZ back with another video, this time i am looking at alternative smartphones for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, due to battery explosions, 2 recalls and major safety concerns the Note 7 has finally been killed off and production stopped completely. Due to a mandatory recall i have returned my Note 7 and many of you are in the same position as me, what now? Well all Note 7 owners know that no other phone can compete for features so lets look at the best of the rest. What are you replacing your Note 7 with? LG V20? Moto Z, Pixel XL? iPhone 7 Plus? Nexus 6P? Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge? Honor Note 8? Chinese phones like Xiaomi? OnePlus 3? HTC 10? Note 5? What did you pick and why?

[Q] Buying a new phone advice "Zenfone 6" vs. "iOcean G7" vs. "Huawei Honor X1"
Hello all,
I have been using a Galaxy Tab GT 1000 (rooted) for the past 2 years.
I want to upgrade my phone. I have been reading and researching a couple of sites, mainly Gizchina and this forum.
My choice came down to the following.
Asus Zenfone 6, iOcean G7, and Huawei Honor X1... all big phones, because I am very comfortable with the Galaxy Tab 1000's screen size.
I also looked into some Lenovo phones, but read that their cameras aren't that good.
Can you please advise me on these phones, and what would you advise me to buy, and if anyone has any experience with the cameras.

I was a happy owner of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and I sold it yesterday but it was too big for my palm
Now I would like to buy a new phone and I cannot decide which one.
I am between Galaxy S5 and Nexus 6 and I cannot make up my mind.
To be honest I'm tired of Samsung Phones, I started with Samsung Galaxy S GT9000, then S2 then Galaxy Core then Galaxy Grand, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Note 3 and I'm really tired of Samsung and I hate Knox which voids your warranty if you install a custom rom or you modify your system and the Samsung Bloatware
However the phones were masterpieces in terms of performance and the support of custom roms was magnificent and S5 would be at least that good.
I'm really excited with Nexus 6 because Nexus devices are known for their Clean Android experience, the instant updates and Nexus 6 will be a high end experience.
I would like your suggestions and help me decide which phone should I buy.
Also please, if you have any other phone to recommend, please do so, I would like to check it out
200% you can go for nexus6 ....
Samsung never gives update at proper time like nexus devices
For every android version Samsung plan new device and for pushing new device they delays updates for old one
But nexus is not like that within some days you will get update when gogle release new firmware
Custom ROM support for nexus devices is great compared to that of Samsung devices .....only thing that nexus devices will not have some advanced touch wiz features like note series has .....

Nexus would be great. U'll always get the latest android updates. :thumbup:

I had a Samsung Galaxy S2 and Note 2 and I have the Nexus 5 since November, 2013.
I recommend you the Nexus 6 as your next device. Why? Because the price-quality ratio is awesome, no bloatwares, no Knox, the latest Android versions, the best UX I have ever seen and a wonderful XDA community
We should see the official announcement of the Note 8 in the next few months possibly as soon as August. Here is the run down of everything we know so far about the Galaxy Note 8!
Who else is getting amped up about this phone? Also what is the main feature you are looking forward to when it comes to the Note 8?
I can't wait for the Note 8 it will be an awesome phone! Still seething after the loss of my Note 7 but currently rocking an S8+ which is a fantastic phone so any improvement on it in the guise of the new Note will make it the best phone of 2017

There is already a note 8 indian thread this will be closed...I understand that the other one is closed but anyone in said threads knows why it was closed and to try to avoid issues We will leave it closed As well as this one..... I am truly sorry for the inconveniences this may bring but again many Note 8 Indian users are aware of the reasoning...
I am looking for a cheap phone for rooting purposes as well as installing custom ROMs. I have boiled the choices down to 3 phones.
1. Redmi Note 7s
2. Mi A2
3. Redmi 7
I like Redmi Note 7s a lot. But there probably isn't a thread on this phone on XDA. Are the Indian Note 7s and the global Note 7 the same phone? Are they both codenamed Lavender? Basically, can I run ROMs designed for Lavender on a Note 7s?
If not, should I go for Mi A2? Redmi 7 does not appear to have a lot of ROMs.
Should I consider other phones for this purpose?
