One plus X - Working CM13-2016/10/15 - TWRP 2.8.7.0 Stuck - Recovery not working - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
This is my first post. I've searched for hours. Visited over 200 sites and forums tried multiple things installed all available android tools you can find online and i am seriously stuck.
Setup before problem : One Plus X - Cm13 - Version 2016 - Oct - 10. This is updated from the cyanogen website and its treated as the stable version.
Downloaded the latest version which is the 15th and got stuck at bootloop. After some searching i discovered that i had to updated my bootloader as it was the same since November 2015. In the website that i got the new version i was also given the new TWRP version 3.0.2 . So i went into my recovery flashed the new bootloader , then the TWRP , then the new ROM. Mobile boots up shows completly empty fresh install CM 13 without gapps or any of my previously installed programs. Everything is still in the storage. All installation folders from the various programms i had.
My recovery mode refuses to Boot. It just stays on the one plus logo. Tried TWRP manager from the OS but the old version 2.8.7.0 refuses to be unistalled. Adb command lines : I've been trying on windows 10 , 8 , 7 with the appropriate drivers and the only thing that i can make the phone do is go to either FASTBOOT or normal boot. Flashed the TWRP multiple times and no changes what so ever. I can make the mobile show up with ADB device, Fastboot device it shows success and when i try to boot into recovery it just gets stuck. I also got the MTP package from Windows. Basically i bricked my phone within a glass. OS works but Recovery not. Fastboot is supposignly working but i see no changes.
Thank you in advance!

Install original stock recovery then 2.2.3. If you want to use ashwins cm13,cm14 from here on out and a couple other ROMs required updated bootloader. You achieve this by flashing 3.1.3 Oxygen OS. After you updated your bootloader only twrp you can use is blusparks latest v41 or Nichets twrp. On a side note 2.8.7 twrp is old 3.0.2 is latest.

Bootloop after every root attempt.

So as written in the title, i've tried flashing different Supersu versions. I also tried doing so on official oxygen os, cyanogenmod 13 and now currently using paranoid CM, it would get stuck in a boot loop everytime i tried to flash supersu. Any help there ? I'm sure i haven't got root access already !

What version you using? You want 2.65 or higher .
Try the latest beta SuperSU and you will have no problem at all!
Thank you very much guys ! I've initially tried to flash 2.52, 2.56 and 2.65, none of them worked, it went well with 2.72 or w/e is that last one .
Try to change that supersu zip file and try other versions
If you haven't unlocked the bootloader then it won't boot into a modified system. To unlock the bootloader you need to reflash the stock recovery from here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/oxygenos.oneplus.net/OPX_recovery.img. Once flashed, boot into OxygenOS, go to settings, go to About Phone, tap on "build number" until it says that you're a developer. Back to settings, go to Developer, and turn on OEM unlock. Now boot into Fastboot, and on the computer you used to flash TWRP in the first place, use the command "fastboot oem unlock". Then you can flash TWRP and use whatever rom you like or flash SuperSU on OOS.

Hi guys if anyone facing same problem Read this
PROBLEM
1)Error Code 7 while flashing new ROM (like Nogut ROMS ).
2)Remote dtb not found while updating old twrp to new (eg. twrp 2.8 to twrp 3.1.0.0)
Cause of problem
Users who have already flashed and rooted their phone and using custom ROMs like CM12 CM 13 or any other from past year will likely to face this problem
while updating twrp recovery or while updating to new custom ROM Nogut cm14 .
Because new custom ROMs have bootloader in diffrent partition (something like this) so you wont be able to flash your phone with new ROMs i.e cm14 or nogut or you wont be able to flash new twrp recovery which is 3.1.0.0
Please keep in mind if you are using following twrp version then you should flash your phone with old twrp 2.8.7.0
twrp-3.0.2-0-onyx.img 14.4M 2016-04-04 23:04:23 EDT
twrp-3.0.1-0-onyx.img 14.5M 2016-04-01 04:24:54 EDT
twrp-3.0.0-1-onyx.img 14.5M 2016-02-15 23:17:25 EST
twrp-3.0.0-0-onyx.img 14.4M 2016-02-06 09:18:41 EST
above point is important look at the solution now
Solution
Step
1)flash your phone with old twrp version TWRP 2.8.7.0 using fastboot method(because we are going to install stock recovery in my case stock recovery of oneplus X lollipop version)
2)after installing stock recovery install 2.14 ver of stock ROM of oneplus X (for oneplus x devices) (for other brands eg samsung look for ur old stock recov and ROM)
3)install old Stock ROM in ur device
4)now again boot into stock recovery and install latest stock ROM (for oneplus X i installed latest oneplus X oxygen OS 3.1.4).
5)after doing above step you can install latest twrp-3.1.0-0-onyx.img without any "remote dte not found error" using fastboot.
6)once you flash twrp-3.1.0-0-onyx.img flash your phone with latest CM14 or any latest android N or nogut ROM without any problem
Note : For error code 7 some people suggested to edit udatescrip file which is not good solution and it is temporary and it wont work for all so do it as i suggested
Comman ERRORS :
1) if you are on twrp 3.x.x.x you will face Remote dte not found while booting your phone in stock recovery using fastboot
so first of all flash your phone with old twrp 2.8.7.0.
2)Do not wipe your internal storage in frustration it will create more problems because you wont be able to transfer files into your phone to flash it (Use OTG cable or SD card if u did it already).P.S you can do it afterwards
Do i need to install stock recovery of stock ROM ? some help would really be appreciated
i can install all twrp upto "twrp3020 " version
but if i try to flash greater version like twrp3021 or twrp3100 m getting same error
i need new twrp because i am not able to flash Android N custome roms i am getting an error code 7 when i am installing ROM
Follow the mega unbrick guide, then update your bootloader then flash latest twrp.

are you on stock recovery right now ?
Finaly the Lv.2 support got it back working via "our" msm unbrick tool (Still got it on my drive =D)
but learned nothing - trying to get lineageOS again.
The recovery is now TWRP v3.1.0-0 for E1003_15_161107 (it works for now on a backup..)
But... i must say - I'm very worried that i cant flash lineage again..
I dont know what the trick is...

Re-flashing OPX ROM via fastboot

Hi
First a little history...
I recently got an OPX with the intention of installing Sailfish OS on it. So first I need to get CM 12.1 installed. Following the instructions here I flashed TWRP using fastboot, but the version of TWRP provided at the link would not find any system partitions on my device and therefore could not be used to flash any images. Newer versions of TWRP would simply not load.
Eventually, using the stock OPX recovery, I managed to upgrade Oxygen OS to the latest version. I then flashed the latest version of TWRP (3.1.1-1) again and it worked! It found my devices partitions and I could flash ROMs with it. But, it wouldn't flash CM 12.1. Something about a trustzone incompatibility...
So I got the idea to try and downgrade Oxygen OS, which I did via TWRP. But then TWRP stopped working... and here is my problem.
I'm now stuck in a situation where:
- I can access fastboot
- The only versions of TWRP which work (e.g. 3.0.2-0) fail to find my system partitions, and therefore can't be used to flash ROMs
- The stock recovery also seems to fail to find the system partitions (clicking on "install locally" does nothing), so I can't use that to flash ROMs either
So I really need to get a working image on my phone somehow... but how?? Is it possible to do this via fastboot only?
Cheers!
Is your bootloader unlocked? TWRP cannot see system partitions if so.
I unlocked it originally... but since then I have installed a new ROM (Oxygen OS 2.x). Would this overwrite the bootloader? Do I need to unlock again? I think I must be using the old OOS bootloader now...
I think you can see if it's unlocked if you boot into bootloader, connect to pc and write on cmd "fastboot devices".
Whenever you switch between android 5.0 roms and 6.0 and further you have to first use the correct recovery from oneplus, only then you can flash the correct twrp and the adequate roms
My bootloader is unlocked. I cannot flash a new ROM via recovery, because none of the recovery images (stock, TWRP) can see my system partitions (I don't know why). At this stage I would just like to know if there is a way to flash a stock ROM/recovery/bootloader via some other method (fastboot, or a special tool), so I can restore my phone back to factory state. I don't care about losing data. Thanks.
EDIT: Just to clarify, I believe this is my current situation (please correct me if something doesn't make sense):
- OOS has two different bootloaders, 2.x and 3.x.
- The phone originally had OOS 2.x on it. None of the TWRP images I installed recognized my system partitions, so I couldn't flash with TWRP.
- After re-installing the stock recovery (which happened automatically when I booted to the stock ROM), I was able to upgrade to OOS 3.x via stock recovery. Now recent TWRP versions were working (I assume because upgrading to OOS 3.x updated the bootloader too), and were recognizing my system partitions.
- Using a new version of TWRP (3.1.1-1), I re-flashed an older version of OOS 2.x again. I think this was my mistake, because I think this downgraded the bootloader to 2.x again. Now none of the TWRP versions recognize my system partitions, so I cannot flash ROMs.
- I have re-flashed the stock recovery from the OnePlus website, but not even this allows me to flash ROMs. The symptoms look like in TWRP, i.e. that it fails to recognize my system partitions. So I am stuck with no way to flash ROMs, or upgrade the bootloader.

TWRP or OS But Not Both

Hi, I'm hoping someone can offer some assistance. I have an Elephone P9000 (normal version NOT lite) that has official Android 7.0 and I want to install LineageOS 14.1.
As per the instructions I used SP Flash Tool to downgrade the phone to Android 6 (Elephone_P9000_20170112) which worked fine.
I then attempted to install TWRP 3.2.1.0 which also appeared to work ok as I could boot into TWRP recovery and all looked good. However when I tried booting the phone normally it stuck at the white boot logo and would not progress any further.
So I reloaded the Elephone_P9000_20170112 rom again with SP Flash Tool after which the phone would boot normally and then tried installing TWRP 3.0.2.8 as I'd seen threads saying that this version definitely worked with the P9000. However this produced the same result that I could boot into TWRP fine but it would get stuck at the boot logo if I tried booting the phone normally.
I have also tried re-installing the ROM but unticking the recovery option in SP Flash Tool hoping that this would leave the working TWRP intact but this didn't work either.
When I try to boot into recovery I get the little Android laying down with a red exclamation mark.
So I don't know where to go now. I can get EITHER Android to boot or TWRP to boot but not both.
Just in case it is relevant, I am using SP Flash Tool v5.1804_Win in Windows 7 32bit. I don't have any SIM's in the phone and no SD card inserted.
Can someone point me in the right direction please.
Thanks
Russell
Try flashing stock rom with 810 at the end then twrp 3.2.1 and then aokp it is better then lineage

Thanks very much, that worked fine and AOKP looks really good. When it said install the latest Android v6 it obviously means the previous latest not the current latest
Just in case anyone else is having the same trouble I was:
Using SP Flash Tool load the 20160810 ROM available here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p9000/development/rom-elephone-p9000-20160810-t3445897
Then, also using SP Flash Tool, load TWRP v3.2.1 which is available from here: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/p9000/
Then you can use the TWRP recovery to load whichever ROM you like (LineageOS, AOKP etc, etc)
Once again, thanks very much for your help.

Help me unbrick my LG D620r

Hello folks
Here's what I've done and what happened:
1) I've been using LineageOS 14.1 with no problems, flashed it with TWRP 3.1.0.0
2) There was a system update available, but didn't go well and was stuck on splash screen
3) I flashed my original 14.1 ROM again with no problems and phone was OK again
4) I found out that there's 15.1 Lineage ROM available. Couldn't flash it with with my TWRP 3.1.0.0
5) Had to reflash recovery to newer version (3.2). It was provided along with the 15.1 Lineage ROM, downloaded from official website
6) Flashed recovery with no problems with Flashify, but trying to flash 15.1 gave me an error
7) So I tried to flash the good old 14.1, but couldn't do it with the newer TWRP
8) Flashed the good old TWRP 3.1.0.0 from the TWRP 3.2, it went OK, than flashed good old 14.1 ROM
9) Phone is still freezed on splash screen
So the result is, what worked yesterday with no problems, today doesn't work.
Any suggestions?
Seriously noone has any idea what to do?...
