Do you have LiveDisplay enabled? And do you have many apps installed?

EMUI is the best daily rom, without any reliability issues. No unexpected lags whatsoever.

Is LiveDisplay known to have an impact on performance? Because I kind of like it, but I'll turn it off if necessary.

Yes. But it is very minimal. If you observe closely, there is this lag when pulling down the status bar and also in transition animations. But that's it. No other effects. For me I use Darker. It's way better than LiveDisplay and has more customizations, plus there's no lag while using it.

[FIX] Lag fix for cm10 based roms (cm10, paranoid android, jellybro)

I originally posted this in the Galaxy nexus forums, but its not device specific as far as I know and works on both my nexus 7 and galaxy nexus so I'll post it here.
Original Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875486
I have a fix for the lagginess in builds from the past week and a half or so. The culprit is the surface flinger library. It is the android compositing system and some changes recently made to it are responsible for the significant lag in recent builds. Most noticeable spot is if you hit the home button if you have the notification drawer down. It becomes extremely laggy without this patch. Scrolling is also less smooth whenever multiple things on the screen are being drawn. This fixes all those issues.
Just flash this in cwm or whatever recovery you choose. Should work on all cm10 builds and cm10 based roms like paranoid android.
http://www.mediafire.com/?dbi25egli253q1b
I'll give it a shot in the latest nightly of CM10 in a few minutes.
Cwm aborted the flash as it was a bad zip. Is there an md5 to check?
Sent from my Sensation using xda app-developers app
Can't say how it flashes from CWM (I put the lib in the CM10 zip and flashed it like that), but the fix does seem to work. I did:

Really don't know if that necessary, my Roms runs pretty smooth.

It's this fix necessary if I am running pa 2.1 on the nexus 7 or does it have this fix already, especially tapatalk seems laggy

i just pasted the .so into system/lib with root explorer...it crashed the rom but it is still there upon reboot. I changed permissions and rebooted again....will do some testing now.
Edit: works. Worth it.

[Q] fully working stable jellybean rom?

hey guys, quick question?? ive been running thtrough jellybean roms but theyre all buggy in their own ways.. i was wondering if theres a particular jelly ROM thats stable enough to use everyday? som give me "com.process.yadayada.com" errors and in some i cant get back out of fullscreen videos viewed through the browser?? lol i just really want a chill stable version of jelly.. could be 4.1.1 for all i care i just want it to function like a phone is supposed to.. and believe me i tried everything.. wiping cache/dalvik/factory, fixing permissions, reflashing the roms and nothing?? maybe im not doing something right? thanks in advance everyone.
All JB roms are going to have some bugs. The code for the note has not been officially released from Samsung. Just something you have to deal with and probably why no one has answered your question.
If you want my opinion try Jamie's latest and greatest CM 10.1 build. It's under the Android development thread. For me it has been the most stable.

I haven't found a bug on Jamie's yet
You may want to try different governor and schedulers. Some are more stable then others and different ones work best for different phones. For my phone ondemand/sio is the best setup.
JamieD's UNOFFICIAL CM 10.1 preview 4 is very stable is based on the latest 4.2.2 and can be tweaked in many wonderful ways to work how u want it... I would trust ANY of his ROMs ... If u want 4.1.2 get his PA ROM from official development. If u want all of the latest features and also like updates then go for 10.1

Just to be the Devil's Advocate here, I actually had quite the opposite results. When I first started flashing and learning more and more, I got super into running different scripts and experimenting with different governors and schedulers...i think just based on the intrigue of having the capability itself, as well as seeing all of these posters on here saying how smooth and solid their phones were after running ________ governor at these super high over clocked speeds.
But no matter what combo i tried, I would always either LOSE UI speed, start overheating at the first sign of additional processing, drain battery like it's going out of style, or a combination of all three.
So I finally just gave up and started being patient every time I flashed a new ROM, just sticking it out for a few days on the stock setup...and sure enough, I've never been happier - UI smoothness, processing speed, battery temp, and battery life in general have never been better and more consistent for me since I "wizened up". Now keep in mind, this (like every ROM, kernel, etc) is rarely ever going to be exactly the same for anyone else - I have no doubt that your setups are working great for you - so take it with a grain of salt of course. Just wanted to provide my two cents!
So which Jellybean Rom can use the TETHERING & PORTABLE HOTSPOT. I installed the CM10.1 preview 5 last night. But the tethering funtion is not working too. Even I turn on the tethering but I can't see from another device. Please advice.

i dont think that protable hotspot works on any CM10.1 rom. i also have P5 and and also P1, P2,etc....usb tethering is the only way that it works.
i also tried apps like FoxFi and WiTether and they dont work on this.
but i read in this thread, ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2082057 ), that running it without a password lets it work. i have not confirmed this yet.

What do you care most when you choose a ROM. Please don't turn this thread into a which-ROM-is-best kind of thread.
If there are other factors that influence your choice, please reply and let me know.
For me i choose user interface and features, why? Cause we got too much stock-based ROMs that have stock theme. I would rather flash a stock ROM rather than a stock based ROM that doesn't have any difference in ui. I mean look at xperianze ROM. Many people are commenting its the best ROM cause of its special and unique interface. And anyways why do we need custom ROMs (no theming) with only tweaks? This phone is running quad core exynos processor not a single core armv6 or something.
Edit: Please add in battery life as it matters the mpst

Antutu finally updated.

I know benchmarks don't matter except for the theoretical performance of a device but Antutu finally updated their app and I was curious how other people's 6Ps were doing on the 3D benchmark. Post your screenshots.
I'll download the 3D benchmark, and let you know when it's finished.
Update: not such a big score...
Time to close a few running background apps and see if it matters..
Update2: tried again, with another lower score... Thermal throttling perhaps..?

Reboot then force close the apps that start on boot. I'm about to try that to see if the Marshmallow memory management is better than previous versions.
That's a possibility. I just got this and my phone wasn't running hot. Benchmarks are so inconsistent and useless in most situations. Lol. My only guess for a practical application of this benchmark is to see what ROM runs better on the same hardware. The only real way to compare hardware would be to be running the same exact ROM on each phone then see how well the hardware can perform the tasks with that ROM, but then, the results could be in favor of the losing device with a different ROM. This is impossible to do though because certain things are required for certain hardware. I'm going off on a tangent now so I'm gonna stop here. Haha.

Knowing the history about Miui, being a former supporter for Miui, I say "avoid it at all costs".
Take in consideration:
1 - Stable global releases are far from stable apart from a very few devices
2- Weekly releases are far from stable apart from a very few devices
3- Stable means ALL hardware features enabled and no major bugs like FCs, overheat, battery drain, bootloops, etc. Things we don´t get in Huawei but very much present in Xiaomi.
4- If Miui stable is not stable, imagine a port.

I kinda agree with you
Its already available for Honor 6. But for Honor 5X its not. Since EMUI and MIUI are similar, I don't think we need it.
Instead we can use the stock EMUI itself.
Yea, there are MIUI themes for EMUI as well.

Is it... But one of our users say that it is very buggy few posts before.
RAM Management problem is not in MIUI. But it's a lookalike of EMUI
