Installed TWRP "Succesfully" But TWRP is not starting - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

Hi all,
After "successfully" installing TWRP, which already took me lots of time due to strange errors, i can not go into TWRP mode. Only in Standard Recovery.
I followed every tip which i found how to exit the fastboot mode succesfully (pressing Vol+ & Power / Removing USB Cable / Tried TeamSpains Automatic Installer), but nothing worked. Most of the time just a black screen and Blue Led.
The only thing i did not do is typing in "fastboot reboot" because i read that this caused a brick on a few Le Max 2.
Any suggestions how i could finally install TWRP ?
Thanks a lot!

Wow, I'm almost in the same situation, but mine is worse - Neither standart recovery, nor TWRP start.
Can you confirm, that your bootloader is unlocked?
Because in my case, the bootloader was locked and I managed to corrupt the recovery by installing TWRP forcefully, which brought me to the continious boot loop in the recovery with no os loaded at all.
check these commands in fastboot:
fastboot oem unlock (fastboot oem unlock-go worked for me)
After it is unlocked -> fastboot flash recovery bla-bla.img -> fastboot boot bla-bla.img, where bla-bla is your twrp image.

The clue is to use proper version of TWRP from Teamspain or from the thread Official TWRP. You can always use fastboot boot for the first try. And unlock the bootloader first.

Yes my device is unlocked. I did it again now with exactly your commands --> after fastboot boot recovery.img --> Black screen and blue LED

Proper I meant one of this distributions and newest. What is the result of "fastboot devices" command?

Is your device 4/64, or 4/32 gb?

i was in same situation guys, things which worked for me is official twrp, flash then immediately hold vol up and power button untill you see le eco recovery appearing on the screen which ll be followed by twrp, if u hold the two button and leave them after getting the first vibration, device boots into system and after that twrp is again overwritten and no use going into recovery afterwards...

Hello again. Blue LED means something like inconsistent version with installed system. Try another TWRP. What version did you run before flashing TWRP? Is it x820 or maybe X822 Indian version?

TRY the "TWRP_5.8_TeaMSpaiN.img" TWRP using fastboot command, which is work for me, my phone is running eui5.8 previously...
link: h ttp://choimobile.vn/threads/cai-twrp-root-leeco-le-max-2-x820-x821.68026/
If incorrect twrp install, either cannot load into twrp(black screen with unusual led light up), have twrp screeen but freeze, or can load into twrp but no touch at all.

Try twrp manager app or the official twrp app. I had problems with teamspain version, appeared not to be working (black screen) but after about 30 seconds it worked. With the latest official version 3.0.2-1-x2 which i installed with twrp manager it boots up immediately

I think as soon as you type fastboot reboot you need to hold power + Volume up button to load the TWRP. Else default recovery gets reinstated.

try to boot into twrp, maybe that will work it described in step 6.4 in this tutorial:

the problem is not enter into recovery.
the first time i have flash wrong twrp. when i enter in recovery, by hardware procedure, in the bottom of screen i read version of twrp.. and is version twrp 3.0.0r2. this is a wrong version!
then.. i do flash from pc, flash operation success.. and ONLY with command "fastboot boot XXXXX.img" , where xxxx.img is name of recovery i have flash before, i can enter in correct twrp.
i don't know why, but i think i can't flash and fix the correct version of twrp. bhooooooooooo!
edit:
problem solved..
i have rename twrp img file in "recovery.img" and i have flash it in fastboot mode by pc..
i have try to enter in recovery with adbo command (adb reboot recovery) and phone reboot in correct twrp version;
then i have try to enter in recovery with hardware procedure (poweroff, volume up + power and release power when appear Mi logo, tap on "recovery") and it work;
and, in the end, i have try to nter in recovery mode by app "updater"
all works perfectly now!

Hi,, i've successfully unlocked my redmi 3 bootloader, and now there's root permission option in security app. I tapped it and confirmation prompt to get root acces appear, i click ok, then my device download something (my assume its root file), and reboot by it self after. Now i have rooted redmi 3 with unlocked bootloader but no superSU installed.
I want to install twrp recovery which is official now for redmi 3, i've read about dm-verity thing in our redmi 3 and still confused about it.
Can i just install twrp recovery thru twrp manager app from play store? If yes, can i go into twrp recovery via updater app.?
Thanks in advance.
you can install twrp by fastboot!
and then yes, you can enter in twrp by updater app

Congratulations you just followed the official method of getting root access successfully, root access is not from SuperSU but from MIUI itself, it's in the Security app.
You can, but the phone won't boot anymore then, because of the dm-verity thingy. So in another word, you have to disable it by flashing a modified boot image, I'm not sure but some custom ROM might have come with the modified image already, but MIUI ROM definitely doesn't, it is certain you'd get a boot loop after flashed TWRP and try to boot into Android again. That's the simple explanation. And yes you can go to TWRP from updater app, it's the same thing as writing 'reboot recovery'.

Hisuite recognize my phone but he has to be in fastboot mode to unbrick it
Then I'm sorry but I can't help you. Probably someone else can.
Lessons I've learned:
Don't be the first to test and be the Guinea pig.
Don't put a lot of faith on 3rd party ROMs whose equipments have a small community of developers.
Someone can help me ?
Do you remember what you have done in order to brick it?
Its not easy These days to actually brick a phone. Was it the first Rom you flashed?

Does the phone charge at all?
Does it light any led, screen, anything?
One thing I've done in another device was to complete discharge, still try to turn it on for dozens of times, just to make sure, then wait for 48h and plug it in to power to see if charging screen goes on.

No, anything
i tried to turn it on many times and no result :/
i think that the bootloader is death,so there is a method to install the bootloader on phones via adb ?
Have you tried to turn it on with volume down and with USB cabel connected to PC ? This should start bootloader, you couldn´t damage bootloader area by installing custom wbt rom as it is separated memory. If you will be successful on bootloader, then flash via fastboot commands latest b371. system, boot, recovery and optionally cust.

Hi,
I can try to help you but i need more information:
Current version of Honor 7 ? (PLK-L01, PLK-TL01H, etc.).
Android version before flash ?
Did you unlock bootloader successfully ?
Did you install TWRP successfully?
Which rom did you try to use to flash your honor 7?
From which country are you?
Thanks,
If ADB detects, it means you can do fastboot commands.
And most probably you have a corrupted boot.img.
Have you tried to fastboot flash boot boot.img from the oficial rom but the same version as the last to be know working rom in your H7?

Okay first thing, I think you are connected via adb and not in fastboot mode, so no fastboot command will work in adb mode.
If you are able to get into adb mode, try to fire this command:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
If this takes you to bootloader mode, then flash all the *.img files from the version you were previously on ex. B330 or B370.
Then after doing that put dload folder with UPDATE.APP of the version you were on before.
Tell me if this works for you.

TWRP flash succesful, but no recovery boot.

Hi All,
I have an Redmi 3 pro with unlocked BL and the latest "official" weekly 7.3.9 from xiaomi.eu and latest TWRP 3.0.2.0 from official twrp site.
I am unable to flash twrp.
I flash it with fastboot flash recovery recovery.img then boot into it using fastboot boot recovery.img with no issue at all.
Then,
if i reboot into recovery from twrp itself it still works.
if i let it boot the phone in its bootloader (POW+VOL_UP the one where you can choose "download" "fasboot" or "recovery") and i select recovery, it does not boot. The phone boots instead.
if i choose from the updater to reboot in recovery, same.
if i choose from flashify (which shows me "stock recovery" is installed), same.
if i use adb reboot recovery same.
i can only boot it using command fastboot boot recovery.img.
It just looks like the twrp flash says OKAY but it's not being flashed.
I've also tried cofface recovery with no success.
i've also tried official twrp app with no success.
everytime flash goes fine and successfully, but i'm unable to boot the phone in recovery itself.
i must always use fastboot boot recovery.img
Hints?

The Volume+ and Volume- and Power worked for me even with the rom error. Hold all buttons til you see the Mi logo, then release Power but keep holding both of the Volume buttons. I also reflashed TWRP Recovery via Fastboot, so maybe that was it.
I'm also facing a problem around TWRP 3.0.2.
But different situation
I always failed/unable to boot into recovery or bootloader everytime I click reboot recovery or bootloader button in TWRP recovery mode.
I still try to find a way how to fix it. Because all the articles that I found always explain about "cannot enter to recovery mode from the system", not from the recovery mode itself.
Do you got anything from all the steps above? Please let me know if there something u can share. Thanks in advance

[RECOVERY] [TWRP] [MIDO] Unable to install Twrp

The Fastboot installation process goes all fine but device boots into Mi-Recovery by default. Currently Using Miui 9 Dev Rom (7.12.21 | Beta). This happened after I flashed the stock Dev rom after accidentally bricking my phone while unrooting through SuperSu's Full Unroot Option.
Bootloader is unlocked. Help asap plz.
Using The 4Gb 64Gb variant.
Hi,
if you flash Global Developer rom using Fastboot method, you will always flash a stock recovery with it.
There is a great manual how to unlock your device on official CZ and SK webpage created by local admins.
Just go to miuios.cz (translate it to ENG using browser like chrome or others) create an account to be able see the links.
Then on the main page scroll down to Redmi note 4 and check
[NÁVODY] - základné /Bootloader/TWRP/MIUI/ROOT
there is everything you need to unlock device with software you need.
All credits to miuios team.

I think is a problem about installation process (I had the same problem with another phone), but you can still access twrp with your computer. Just use this command: Fastboot boot "twrp.img".
Update "twpr.img" with your own twrp´s file name.
Wait untill phone´s reboot (more than 15s.)
Then use it as usual
Good luck

I ran into the same problem after unlocking the bootlader:
TWRP would not install -> [Vol+] + [Power] started only the MIUI recovery.
But after some search, I found that you have to:
enter in a terminal "fastboot flash recovery twrp-x.x.x-x-mido.img"
enter after that "fastboot boot twrp-x.x.x-x-mido.img"
My Note 4 then started in TWRP.
EDIT:
Corrected step 2

ADB doesn't work in Fastboot... fastboot.exe does. And that can only boot into itself (the bootloader), not the recovery.
Anyway, I solved the problem. Mine is a 4X not a Note 4X. Damn you Xiaomi... they are exactly alike!

ADB doesn't work in Fastboot... fastboot.exe does. And that can only boot into itself (the bootloader), not the recovery.

You are right, my mistake.
adb does not work and I mixed it up.
But I did test 'fastboot boot twrp-x.x.x-x-mido.img' in fastboot mode and it worked on my Note 4.

As others have reported, I had the same issue too. I was able to boot to TWRP with the fastboot boot command above, but it looks like after you boot to the stock ROM (mine was MIUI V9.2.1.0.NCFMIEK as far as I remember), the TWRP recovery gets replaced by the stock one. After flashing LineageOS (official lineage-14.1-20180331-nightly-mido-signed.zip), I can now properly reboot to TWRP with Vol+ & Power.
Thanks for the tip @tinaeire :good:
Why aren't devs mentioning this in the instructions right after the recovery flash command? I'll never understand. I guess it's more MIUI's fault for being so weird about the bootloader.
TWRP boots stable
Press VOLUME-UP and POWER together, when you feel the vibration release the buttons.
-> boots into TWRP
If you hold the two buttons until you see the TWRP logo flash up and release them at that moment -> boots to MIUI.
Did that with phone mentioned below, TWRP 3.2.1, and MIUI Global 9.2 Stable.
I am also facing the same problem, please someone guide me thoroughly how to root my xiaomi redmi note 4 snapdragon global stable version. i have successfully unlocked my phone but i can't start it up in twrp recovery mode. please tell me all the steps and files necessary.

Once you flash TWRP via fastboot then use command fastboot boot xxx.img
So, you'll be able to boot to TWRP, next flash magisk for MIUI, install lazyflasher.zip and reboot and check if TWRP sticks.
i have the same issue after flash the twrp and it reboot back to mi recovery instead. However i am using redmi K20.
Found out that the issue is the twrp.img file that you flash must be a correct one that your download for your device.
If it is not the correct file ( my case is using redmi k20 pro instead of redmi k20 twrp.img), i will always failed and stay at mi recovery.

[SOLVED] Android Q MI-Recovery 3.0 cannot be replaced

I'm an idiot and was tired... Make sure you run fastboot as Administrator...
Hi,
My Poco F1 was upgraded to Android Q using beryllium_global_images_V11.0.6.0.QEJMIXM_20200227.0000.00_10.0_global.tar.gz via MiFlash tool. In the background this just runs a batch script from the unpacked file.
Now I'm stuck with replacing the recovery. This simply won't work. OEM Locking/Unlocking doesn't help. Reverted back to Android 9 and still I can't install lineage-17.1-20200417-recovery-beryllium.img nor twrp-3.3.0-0-beryllium.img
It will report OKAY but a fastboot reboot recovery skips the recovery, and shutting down and starting with Vol-Up + Power, I get the MI-Recovery 3.0.
Any hints/tips appreciated!

Yes, the bootloader is unlocked. Unlocking was the first thing I did after buying the device. Bootloader shows "Unlocked" too.
