I want to share my opinion pros/cons after use this device for a week. I would frankly say what is good, what is bad.
The unit i have is Xiaomi mi note 2 128gb/6gb non-global version.
cons:
color shift on curve edges, it look abit blue by eye ( when screen is display light tone - white ). This not effect with dark tone color ( It look normal from flat to edges curve )
camera it come with older build compare to mi5s which announce 2 months before mi note 2. Mi note 2 come with imx318 which release since Feb 2016 compere to mi5s come with imx378 which release on Sep 2016. Look at that gap for possible improvement make me feel abit disappoint. ( but it also has a pros from sacrifice **see in Pros**)
It doesn't come with 3D touch (T_T)
LTE bands for non-global version. Why they remove FDD B8. but mi5s have 5 bands include B8
Benchmark Performance for 128/6gb model abit disappoint. It only get around 110k-125k on antutu, 1800SC 3900MC on Geekbench. Compare to other phone with this spec even mi note 64/4gb got higher. ( I think this must be a software issue, with this spec it can improve with better ROM and Kernel. Still waiting for it )
Announce on the same day with Mi mix. Which pull down the hype on mi flagship (mi note2). Cause less developer taking eyes on mi note 2 over Mi mix by comparing on both forum.
Price per performance compare to mi5s.
Pros:
Battery 4070 mAh. DAMN!!! this make no wonder using this phone through a day. Daily use, message, phone call, browse, social, take photo, Bluetooth streaming, gaming, watch youtube still get spare juice before go to bed. No need to carry power bank around.
Feeling so good on hand. Its thin with that battery size. The dual curve edge feel premium. Whole Metal build + gorilla glass.
Spec sheet. even though i talk about performance above, But with this spec hardware there is huge gap to improve by software later.
Camera. Sacrifice newer model but what we get is image stabilization @4K and higher Megapixel. wide angle front facing camera.
Sound both on speaker and headphone quite good.
Equip with all kind of connectivity even infrared.
Fast and accurate fingerprint sensor.
Conclusion:
In real world scenario, i didn't feel any lag or slow performance. It still one of the fast/best phone in the market today. Camera is good just dont read the spec sheet. Feel premium on hand. Huge battery capacity more than enough for daily use, plus quick charge. Good sound. fast fingerprint scan. Have to wait abit for custom rom and kernel. Better if you can get global version.

Does it play x265/hevc well? (use mx player + custom codec)

SD 821 is much more powerful than tegra x1 and yes it plays 10 bit hevc videos. I have Nvidia shield TV too, ja it's good but SD 821 is faster and better.

Yes, I saw many 4gb mi note 2 benchmark around 145-160k. With my unit (6gb mi note 2) i expect to see better ram performance but i got even lower than 4gb model. I think with newer rom update could improve ram management on 6gb model.
But as i said on original post that real world use i didnt get any pull down performance.
Do you need to wake the phone to use the fingerprint sensor? Or is it like most phones that can be woken up and unlocked with a fingerprint scan?

You have to press to the home/fingerprint sensor to wake and unlock the phone at the same time.
How is the display of the mi note 2? Many reviewers are quite disappointed by the display. I wonder how sharp it is because of 5.7" amoled screen. Pentile matrix and 1080p resolution with that screen size could be a concern for me.
I just can't decide between MI note 2 and oneplus 3t...oneplus is much much cheaper than MI note 2 in 128 GB configuration and I guess it will be available much faster than mi note 2. But I want the edge screen so badly.

Frankly I would say that display is better then any other IPS screen in terms of color reproduction. Brightness is fine but Xiaomi 5s is brighter at max. It is not an issue for me because I keep brightness at 80%, in bright condition. Here's a bad thing I think, the screen changes to bluish tint if you look at it at angle but most noticeable if display is white. When it comes to sharpness it's fine to me but I think many people will say it's not sharp enough because they just happen to know that there are 2k displays on the other phones. They would never guessed what resolution particular displays has by just looking at it. OnePlus 3t it might be better in some aspects but personally it's looking boring to me and I would never consider one for myself. Besides I hate when camera frame is taller/higher than surface as it's case with OnePlus. The other thing you have to put in consideration is MIUI and for now there is no global firmware but I flashed Xiaomi.eu ROM and it's flawless. There are other phones in the same category like Leeco le pro 3 or vivo xplay6. Best regards

Ihave not read this wrong, as of November, there has been a 128GB/6GB combination of the 5.7" Xiaomi Mi Note 2 with a Global ROM? Or the CN one with litterally 4 or 5 unlocked bands?
So this phone must be woken up for the finger print to work. It doesn't try reading a fingerprint tap on the button and ,must be woken up to work?

That is correct, but still it's done by one touch, while yu pressing the button the fingerprint scanner is unlocking the locked screen at same time.
Mi note 2 global version is about to be realest but all my Xiaomi mi phones are compatible in my country ( Denmark) so I am not bothered.

I think the word disappoint for display of mi note 2 is under expectation. Everyone who plan to buy this phone would expect to see gorgeous IPS curve display. But after you get the phone hand on and the color on the edge doesn't seem as expectation so it would be abit disappoint.
As a mi note2 user I would say first impression was abit disappointed for display. The color on curve edge seem abit blue (only on white background) and abit warm tone display (compared to 1+2 i had used before mi note2).
But after using this phone for few days you will get use to color of display. Now i didn't feel any color change on the curve edges (after get used to) but the curve edge of screen still make you feel good on hand. Normally we look directly to screen not to the curve so right now color on the curve doesn't make me feel bad otherwise curve is still curve every time you hold your phone you always feel good on hand.
Thanks for the feedback. I personally don't care about other phones 2k displays (VR is not of relevance for me at all). I'm running the redmi note 3 pro international at the moment and the display is just fantastic. I just don't want a downgrade in display quality for my next phone which will cost about 4x more than the redmi note 3. In general the note 3 pro is already the perfect phone for its price tag (except for camera quality) but I always happened to be one of the enthusiast guys and I'm very curious about the curved screen.
An other thing that bothers me is the battery life. Reviewers speak about 4-5hrs on screen time. On the note 3 you can easily get between at least 7 hrs up to 10 hrs for some ppl. The difference in screen size is just 0.2 inches and the capacity is the same.
So what is the battery life for you guys?
The camera seems to be decent but it seems that pixel and s7/edge still play in their own league tho...
BTW: is anyone using the edge functions on the mi note 2?

Battery life in my opinion is the best i ever used. It take me pass daily usage with 30%+,- before go to bed.
Yesterday i put phone on airplane mode during 9.30 hours flight. Mi note 2 is handle idle so well.

I am a bit new to this. I have new note 2 with unlocked boot loader and would like to flash .eu rom. Do I need to unlock boot loader? If not too much trouble, can you provide directions on what you did to install the .eu rom?

1. Yes, bootloader must be unlocked and TWRP for Mi note 2 must be flashed at first.

Hi Everyone,
I thought I'd share some thoughts on this device after having purchased it yesterday afternoon.
I bought this phone because I felt it was the first device that gave me what I had been craving for a long time - an Android version of the iPhone 6s. I like the size, build and feel of the iPhone 6s/7, but not the software or the price.
I think I am in the minority of people who prefer a smaller handset, and even though Android devices tend to fit a lot more screen real estate into smaller bodies, I still feel that the 4.7in screen size is ideal for me.
The only phones that run Android of that size have been the Xperia compact line, and the Galaxy Alpha/A3 2016 models. There have been others, but only these have come close. Unfortunately, they have suffered compromised designs and specs that have left me wanting (I have owned them all, and this is my opinion which others are free to disagree with).
This new handset, however, has me ticking a lot of boxes.
- Size is fantastic. Just a little smaller than the iPhone 6s, and feels great in the hand. Premium materials, solid build quality, great ergonomics, clicky buttons, no camera hump.
- The display is good, not awesome, but vibrant and colourful without being too over the top. Can be tweaked to each user's preference, and gets both very bright and very dim.
- fingerprint scanner is fast and accurate.
- Camera is good, not amazing. An iPhone definitely trounces this setup, but I paid £280 sim free and my usage is not too demanding so it's absolutely fine for me. Daytime shots are actually very pleasant and I think here it punches above its weight; low light is where it struggles, but I feel that most shots at night are not too important for me so it's a compromise I'll happily make.
- Call quality is very good and it holds onto signal well in my area.
- Sound quality out of the side mounted speaker is actually surprisingly good, at least as good as an iPhone 6s. Headphone performance is also excellent .
- Performance has been nothing short of excellent. I feel we have reached a point where there are not that many tasks that we do that actually need a Snapdragon 821 to run smoothly - granted, some 3d games need serious power on tap to run at their highest settings on a quad HD screen, but with a 720p screen, the A3 2017 runs pretty much anything at best quality without delay or hiccup. And everyday operation is smooth as butter without any lag or slowdowns. Granted, this is very early days, but I am hopeful this will continue.
- Battery life is astounding. I charged it on Saturday night and hit 100% at 10.20pm. I took it off charger and only put it back on at 2% while writing this review and I had nearly 9 hrs and 30mins of screen on time over 1 day and 3 hours. That includes 64 mins of voice calls. Please note that I was home all day on Wifi, but still, I have never seen times like that, not least from a 2300 odd mah battery. Awesome. It also charges pretty fast.
- Other stuff - water proofing is great, finally have USB-C, charges really quickly with the included adaptive charging brick, finally has a blue light filter.
And now for the balance of the review:
- Slippery despite its size, so a case or a skin is advisable.
- 16gb of internal memory nearly broke the deal for me, but a 64gb card and some transferring of apps has left me with 3.8gb left to play with internally. Definitely not ideal and a very cheap move from Samsung, but I'm also hoping Nougat brings adoptable storage soon which will eliminate this as an issue (here's hoping!).
- No notification light is something I have to adjust to, but the always on display does help *somewhat* ( I prefer the light as it's something that alerts me from afar, whereas the display is on regardless of whether you have a notification or not).
- Camera as described above has some shortcomings.
- Usual Samsung software compromised with bloatware - lots of useless stuff on here that eats into that 16gb that I cannot delete (Microsoft suite, Samsung junk, usual duplicate apps that we all use the Google version of). I'll keep trying the usual routes to rid the phone of this but I may have to wait a while.
Other than these points, I am really pleased. It feels nice to have paid relatively little for a device that feels so premium. I know there are other phones at relatively low prices that kill this on specs (OP3, Axon 7, Honor 8, etc) but they are generally much bigger handsets, so for anyone looking at something smaller, this is a great buy.

I always wanted a phone with an small amoled screen and water proofing so i jumped ship from the huge mate 8 to witch i am comparing. I agree with your pros but i found: 1-the camera is average and lacking OIS (need very stable hands), 2- cannot use sd card as default storage (very handy on mate 8), 3- phone very slippery, 4- Design and Screen of a3 2016 seemed better (personal opinion), 5- no stutter but little slow (comparing to mate 8). Only lacks IR blaster to check all boxes but we can't have everything.

Coming from a larger phone with a quad HD screen, it's never going to look as dazzlingly sharp, but on a 4.7 inch screen 720p still looks great and it is perfectly sharp and clear - if you've ever seen an iPhone screen, this feels much the same. Colours can be adjusted to your preference - I prefer accurate rather than punchy, but you can set it to either or somewhere in between.
I've had everything from a galaxy s6 which has crazy high pixel density to a Moto x, and personally I prefer the 720p smaller screen because it's far more efficient and I don't notice the pixel density difference after an hour or two.

Thanks for sharing this. I am also very happy with this phone so far. It's my second day with it, the battery is at 39% with 4h45 sot and 1d3h total since unplugged. In a night of 9 hours, the phone just lost 3%.
I have noticed though that wifi is constantly detected as running by betterbatterysats, even if it's turned off. Any idea how to fix this?

Have you checked in Settings -> Connections -> Location?
There are some wifi settings behind it (in location method and improve accuracy) you can deactivate.

Mm, nothing special yet, as I'm really happy with battery life so far.
What I did in the past with other devices is for example use the app greenify (needs root) to hibernate apps you don't want to run in the background.
Also, something that really helped me with my old s4 mini was to set mobile network to 2g, and only switch to lte once required.
And as always, use wifi instead of mobile network as often as possible, disable Bluetooth if not needed, etc.
£280?!?! That's highway robbery for a device with 720p, small battery and everything in budget-range. You get this, all the bells and whistles for £150 with a well known Chinese brand. Now I know why I'd never ever get a Slamsug.

I'm pretty clued up but if I've missed something I'd be keen for you to share what you've found for myself and the community - my mother needs a new phone so if you've seen something better than the A3 for less I'd love to buy it

Which stats are you looking for? Battery? Screen res? SoC power?
Compare, with €150 phones, battery, res, SoC, well anything really part from 10 mm in size.

Well I'm referring to your comment that you could get a better phone for £150, so I guess I'm wondering what phone you are saying is better for that price...
The battery life of the A3 is epic, the PPI is still perfectly decent (720p on 4.7 inches is still perfectly usable and arguably 1080p is unnecessary) and the SoC is both fat and frugal.
So really I'm wondering whether you can get something the same or better for less money
I'd be happy with an alternative with same form factor. Any recommendations? The A3 still not available in US.

The Redmi 4 Pro can be had for €150 and its battery life is Epic also, the Redmi 3 Pro is way better than A3 and Redmi 4 Pro, with 720p but alas 5". Redmi note 3 is also really good, for even less than €150. Samsung is priced at least £100 than it should, but the same can be said about Sony and Apple also.

I agree the Xiaomi phones are compelling - my main issue is the fact that they are all grey imports - many purchasers have reported that they do not get any warranty support whatsoever, they generally require a more experienced android user to side load the Google play store, and they have sketchy android skins which have also been reported to spy on their users.
Don't get me wrong, Touchwiz (or Grace UI as it's now known) is not exactly great, but I'd rather know I can walk into a Samsung store and get a problem fixed than rely on a Hong Kong based website for support.
I think it's only fair to compare this phone to what can be had in Europe, and in that regard, it blows the Sony X Compact, Alcatel and others out of the water.
And given its build quality and design, it's good value compared to phones that retail for double this cost.
Also, most Xiaomi phones don't come with NFC (no android pay), some don't have scratch resistant glass, no quick charging, etc

The Redmi 4 Pro that I bought for a friend in Jan has the 14 nm Snapdragon 625. I can agree that it might lack a few finishing touches, but I could buy it for €150 inc shipping from aliexpress and get it in 7-9 days. But it's half the price, and I know the Adreno is a better GPU than the Mali.
Both on the Xiaomi and the Slamsug, first thing I would do it TWRP and LAOS ROM, they can keep their crap TW and MIUI, can't stand it.
Never the less, it shouldn't be 2x the price for something that is almost inferior in some points and better on others. Esp not in 2017, maybe some years ago, but every day there are better and better phones for under €200, like the Moto G5 and such, only problem is they are so damn big, and big phones are 99/100 new that are coming out, these days, sadly.

Can't disagree there - it's frustrating how few phones there are under 5 inches available.
I will say though that besides the Xiaomi phones which look to have a nice build, the Moto G4 is very cheap feeling, as are most of the other phones available here in that price bracket, so I would happily pay a little more for a nice looking and premium feeling device.
If the Samsung we're £220 I think it'd sell by the bucket load as £20-40 above phones like the G4 would likely tempt many up, but at £280 I agree that it's a harder sell for the lay person.
I'm looking at from the other side - it's a mild compromise from an S7 or a iPhone 6s/7 , but it's half the price, rather than double that of a cheaper device.
And it absolutely looks and feels as good as a £5-600 phone.

There are so many on this forum and in other places that airs the same frustration, so few options for a mobile ca 130mm lenght and 4.5 - 4.7" screen (720p at least), that I'm starting to wonder if we should do something about it, maybe talk to so manufacturer to make at least 1-2 phones under 5"
The Redmi 4 Pro I used for a few weeks felt no worse in build than the Iphone 6 or 6S I have tried a few times, both in metal around 140 - 145mm size. But for €310 I can get a Xiaomi Mi 5 with 820 and have €100 in change over. I have never held a Moto G, last Motorola I have tried was the 4.3" Razr Maxx and it felt solid as a rock.
The J5 goes for around €180-190 here and I see no reason why this smaller, entry level A3 shouldn't be priced in a similar fashion. These days due to deaths in the family and such I'm so poor that €100 is more than I can spare and my Android mobile that I have now is from 2012 or so, single core with 512 MB RAM and I hate every minute when I'm using it. I'm lucky to have been given a 2009 Sony Ericsson C901 as my main caller.
Just my 1¢ (It used to be 2¢, but due to the recession I've had to make cutbacks)

What annoys me a lot is also that this A3 is bigger than the A3 (2016) and the battery is only 50 mAh bigger. They could easily have put a 2500 - 2800 mAh battery in this one, just like the Sony Z3, Z5 or X compact, which is 5 mm smaller.
My last perfect phone was the original moto x. I still use it. I am not a power user but the X just needs lil more power but on cm13 it's not bad.
I don't even mind going with old phone as long as has some custom roms to improve performance.

Display in LeEco Le Max 2 is just excellent. Great resolution, crisp and clear (QHD), color reproduction is also very good, viewing angles as you'd expect from a flagship device. All in all a well rounded package.
In you case I'd recommend using any blue light filter app, no matter what your phone will be.
As per battery, that's very ROM dependant, check user experiences with different ROMs in the Development section.

I get full day's use (mixed wifi & LTE) with about 6 hours SOT, unless I do something really battery draining like taking and uploading a lot of photos, or heavy gaming. QC 3.0 is super fast too, so even if you are using intensely you can give it a quick boost easily.
Agree completely with @voolandis about the screen.
This phone is far, far superior to the others you mentioned in most respects IMHO. My previous phone was a Zenfone 2, which I really enjoyed, but there is no comparison. Completely different class of device.

SD800 is slightly faster looking purely at performance but it heats up pretty quickly and is not very battery efficient (28nm. manufacturing process)
SD625 is amazing when it comes to battery because it's 14nm manufacturing process so the heat is much lower, it's incredibly power efficient and consumes way less battery and generally does not overheat.. it scores about 15k lower in Antutu which is still pretty good.
Camera in Redmi Note 4 is mediocre, Nexus 5 wins here.. especially stock. Homever there are camera mods which help to increase quality, like ported Google Cam with working HDR+.
Battery Redmi Note 4 will destroy Nexus 5, you will be getting atleast twice better battery life compared between the 2. (like i mentioned earlier it's due to the super power efficient SD625 and 14nm manufacturing process but also pretty big battery - 4100mAh)

It's decent but only in day light, night and low light pics are pretty bad, same goes for videos which additionally have some issues with LOUD sound, like in concerts. Just Google it, you should find samples easily.
Generally if you use camera alot I would not recommend Redmi Note 4.

Nexus 5 has a pretty bad camera too?. If it at par with nexus 5 , great! Else , bummer...
Hi, I have both. I actually upgraded from Nexus 5 (still have it, but with cracked sceen). The battery life can not be compared as the Nexus has very bad and the Note 4 has excellent. The camera middle range both (for me enough). My Note has 4G RAM, so the performance is better (newer phone anyway). The screen is also same category. The grip of the Nexus is way much better, than the very slippery Xiao. I really like my Nexus, that´s why I have it for like 3,5 years already, but dated a bit. The Note is 1 month old and I´m satisfied with it.
Sorry for the bad quality pic, but if you wanna compare the size it´s ok. The Note is somewhat larger and heavier.

You ever used moto g5 plus or Zuk Z2?
I had Nexus 5,Galaxy S6, HTC 10, Axon 7, Huawei P9 and now I "downgraded" to a Redmi Note 4 .
Battery life is awesome. I trip alot and I'm the only one in my group that dosen't carry a battery pack.
Performance is awesome. Yes,for like 15-20 minutes any Snapdragon 805+(805,810,808,820) is faster but the Snapdragon 625 dosen't throttle. In games it's solid as a rock. It's a little laggy in facebook but I don't mind.
Camera is ok. I have a Redmi Note 4 with a Samsung sensor. I have a pretty expansive DSLR if I want more but I never need more in a normal day. The dual flash is strong.
Screen is pretty meh. I have a Tianma pannel and after 4 months of usage I have 6-7 stuck pixels . I don't really mind as I don't really see them in day to day basis . It's not a great screen it's not a bad screen.
I'd buy the Note 4 if I were you.
I wouldn't buy a G5 plus if I were you. Moto delivered it with a 32 bit ROM. Yeah,you'll find 64bit ROMs on XDA but it's laggy,buggy and it will be for a while.

Used zuk z2 plus and redmi note 4 both... Zuk z2 heats too much.. Their ui is not good and battery life also low.... Go for redmi note 4
Either way, you'll be disappointed at some point. Nexus is nexus, nothing can replace that. You will be amazed with battery life but that's pretty much only thing this phone gives. I hate this phone , crappiest phone I've ever had. Run away from Chinese phones.

Battery life is awesome. The camera is mediocre (with Samsung or Sony sensor). With Omnivision sensor, the camera can be quite poor. If you are really into great photography, this is not the phone for you.

Le Pro 3 Elite (SD820 ver.) is an good option too.
Meizu m6 note is getting up to 65.000 on Antutu.

Heyyo, of those three? It's hard to tell tbh... The LeEco Le Pro 3 Elite and Le Max 2 are great and of course the Le Max 2 uses the Sony IMX230 camera sensor which is really darn good and the Le Pro 3 uses the IMX298 which is also pretty darn good... So it's a hard toss up.
The Le Pro 3 Elite does have a slightly faster system on a chip with the SnapDragon 821 (OnePlus 3T and Google Pixle use them as well) compared to the SD 820 (OnePlus 3 and Samsung Galaxy S7 SD variant use them as well)
The Le Max 2 does use a QHD display so if you're big into VR headsets for phones it is better in that regard, otherwise the Le Pro 3 does have better battery life due to the FHD screen.
I think the major downside to the Meizu M6 Note is custom ROM community... If you look here on the XDA forum section it's quite bare... So I wouldn't advise buying it unless you're ready to helm the development for the device... That is, if there's even source code available for the kernel...

Definitely buy the Le Max 2. I bought one recently (the 6gb, 64gb model) for apprx 170 pounds UK and am amazed at how good it is. The screen is beautiful, and the camera and sound are amazing - I've owned loads of different smarphones for years and this is by far the best one. I've always rooted previous phones and installed extra sound mods like viper, etc, but this Is the first I've owned that I can find nothing to improve upon. Its runs any application incredibly quickly and frankly it's a steal at the price. I looked up the stats of Le Pro3 and it looks like a big step down as screen size is smaller and resolution only goes to 1080 so you'll miss out on the brilliant 2160 resolution (which is also very handy for VR).

More flash (storage) is of course better, more RAM - over 4 GB is a diminishing return, you pay for it, but OS/apps seldom benefits from it.
Besides the price, I think you should expand your selection matrix.
Do you plan to use custom rom? What are your choices?
The way as the phone comes out from the box, either X722 (Pro 3 Elite) or X820 (Le Max 2), you gonna look at EUI 5.8 (or 5.9).:crying:

It is not the Android 6.0.1 as much, as the #$%^&* user interface!
So before I bought either phone, I'd explored what to replace EUI with.
Then you begin facing the problems of the cameras and fingerprint sensor (and maybe more).
The choice between X722 and X820 then might shift.
I prefer functioning phone, anything above it - is a bonus (bigger screen, or battery).
If I got working camera, battery charging, low draining and finger print sensor (obviously with working connectivity), then I am set.
On X820 I went through 3 custom roms until I got to the point, not nirvana, but satisfaction.

If your concerned about speed on the Le Max 2, don't on the stock ROM speed is good enough for a heavy user, although if you want to ramp things up abit there are OC kernels (especially for SLIM7 ROM) which provide the same and even better performance than a snapdragon 821 , my friends stock Pixel XL could not keep up on any benchmark with the OC kernel.
The camera is one of the highlights of the phone, the sensor is very big with 21MP and a nice pixel size, if your looking purely at a hardware perspective the Le Max 2 has got the best camera, fact. Although on stock EUI Rom Leeco post processing degrades the image quality, the average user wont really notice this but if you are into taking pictures flash a Nougat or Oreo 8.1 ROM and download a modded Gcam 5.1 apk turn on HDR to get absolutely superb images, they are better then a Pixel XL no doubt, the detail is unrivalled (even my XZ premium cant hold that quality), if you want just ask me if you want some sample pictures, in my opinion this mixture between pixel size and mega pixels is perfect as it brings in a very healthy balance between the pixel size and megapixels, what I like most with the new BSG Google Cams is that you can tone down the noise to nothing and still attain pictures with the same detail as a Pixel XL as the Le Max 2 has much more MP to play with so the Pixel XL images have so much more noise while the Le Max 2 looks sharp and clean. So overall this camera sensor can take brilliant photos. Video I would say is just above average, the OIS is there but is not as good as the Pixel XL's EIS, although if you download the EUI 6 ROM and slap a modded Gcam on it the stabilization is the same as the one found on the Pixel XL, in terms on FPS, slo motion is not very good as the shutter speed has to go down alot and the resolution is not sharp enough, this is about average and the same goes for 1080p as it is caped at 30fps annoyingly (even though hardware wise it can achieve 60fps), 4K video actually looks pretty good but in low light there is alittle bit more noise rather than in a Pixel XL which isnt that bad. The front camera is 8MP with a giant pixel size although dont expect masterpieces on low light, in good light it looks impressive although the fixed focal point is not in the best place so some pictures may be abit blurry, but again slap HDR on the front camera and low light pictures look pretty good but the dynamic range does not really increase too much, overall the front and back cameras are very good.
The 1440p screen looks very nice with a nice contrast and colour accuracy on custom ROM's ( don't stay on EUI for its screen colours), although as it is an LCD panel in low light those blacks turn into a ugly grey colour and the contrast range does decrease abit, although this is on all LCD panels including the Le Pro 3. Overall the screen is brilliant in most conditions and to top that if you somehow break the screen it is so easy to fix and the screen and digitiser itself only costs around $19!
Battery life is a hard one, a heavy user like me gets around 3-4 hours SOT which is pretty good although I am on the SLIM7 optimised ROM, on stock EUI the battery life is horrible I was getting max 2.5 hours SOT, I am pretty sure while on custom ROMs the battery life is alright the Le pro 3 is much better. Although the fast charging is super fast and charges fully under an hour and thats with the stock charger and cables ( still got them and they are built very well ).

I will probably buy the Le Max 2 (6/64 version), do you know which custom rom is better for battery life (I dont play games). Also is the selfie camera good/decent compared to other phones?

Definitely the Slim7 ROM, there is a new battery saving kernel ( BlackScreen 3.6.2 ) which you can separately download and flash, this gave me 5+ SOT which is very impressive taking in the size of the battery and screen. The front camera is pretty good in good lighting conditions it fully utilizes all of its 8MP with a hefty 1.4 μm pixel size the images look crisp and clean and fully comparable to flagships, although in bad lighting the image will suffer more than a typical flagship phone, although can be sorted through the Google HDR algorithm which brings back most of the detail and lowers the noise, the angle of view is average for a front camera, so overall the front camera is above average, I have seen much worse but I have seen some much better.
