Nope.
This exploit only works for a device with an unlocked bootloader.
We cant even access fastboot let alone unlock the bootloader if we could.
Trust me, I also have the Canadian variant and am hoping for some sort of root exploit.

Is it possible to use the official unlock bootloader for H860?!

I have been surfing the web for couple of days to find a way to unlock the bootloader for LG G5 H860, but i couldnt find any thing
could any one help me with that ?
not possible. H850 EU only... as stated on the official site as well as the XDA G5 thread for bootloader unlocking.
To expand on what @autoprime said, at the moment, the only model that can have the bootloader unlocked is the H850.

probably not YET possible. We still have to wait for someone to discover an exploit. Non-unlockable bootloader doesn't necessarily mean no root forever, there are billions of ways out there to do it, but no one has found it yet for our variant. I remember rooting my Xperia Acro S without unlocking it (even though it was possible at that time). I love the phone anyway, even without root.
any update about unlocked boot loader for h860 (dual sim)?
Thanks!

I've graduated to the G5 from the G3, the bootloader for which was locked down tight by LG. The geniuses working on the G3 developed an exploit called Bump! that let users flash ROMs on the G3 despite its locked bootloader. It would be nice if something equivalent could be developed for the G5.

Bootloader Unlock for H850 non-Europe

Hi,
I have an Israeli LG G5 H850, the Official bootloader unlock tells me that it's not possible because it's from Israel and not from europe.
Is there an unofficial way to unlock the bootloader without wiping it?

Why would you do such a thing out off all the variations out there
Cause of great support and community support (XDA) for sams**t handsets...
There's so many devices out there that can do the same
Oneplus 5 should be coming this year ?
Treat yourself
Still no way of unlocking bl of that specific model of the H850?
Or a method to root it without unlocking bl?
I would wipe everything and flash any rom or sth.
Possible?? Thanks in advance!
Never again LG, totally disappointing.

I need testing help

Hello everyone,
As you know there are people working on the laf exploit, well I found my way and now I'm helping out on the v30 end. Unfortunately, I have Verizon variant of the v30 when right now I need the the fully unlocked us998. Can I get somebody who would be willing to work with me who has that specific variant? Let me know if you'd be willing to help by commenting down below and I will contact you via xda messages to start. Thank you ahead of time for willingness to help! Hope to hear comments really quickly! Thank you
I have the US998 V30+
I just flashed it to the Verizon Oreo KDZ. Not sure if it is any different than yours now.
Let me know if I can help.
I guess it depends what you mean by "fully unlocked."

If you can do me a favor and try to see if you have full fastboot commands? If you need help with that let me know!
- Thank you
How would I determine that?
Device does not respond to fastboot devices or fastboot reboot.

Root and Bootloader Unlock

I have the unlocked version of this phone. I don't see anything about root or unlocking the bootloader? Really all I want is root so I can run Network Signal Guru...
Good morning,
unfortunatly I checked yesterday and wrote also to the dev... it is still not available from Official LG Web site.

Unlocked versions is about the carrier is unlocked meaning it doesn't have a carrier/plan locked with it. It doesn't mean it have an unlocked bootloader. If you really want a unlocked bootloader phone in 2020, get OnePlus or Xiaomi, they are more dev friendly.
Also, with LG's history of supporting developers, this will not likely to get unlocked bootloaders later.

I think Motorola is dev friendly too. My friend say they give everything to root her phones. ??
I don't think someone will find a way to root the LG phones after the V30 model. My old phone before my new G8x was the V30 and it was complex to root, so I don't know for the most recent models ??*
I downloaded Treble info from play store and this is what I get;

I know but it shows that systemless root could be used and GSI roms could be used if twrp and root can be achieved.

Yea, you are right. But you guys won't get unlcoks and root anyway because you know LG's history. But it is a possibility that LG might allow that 1-2 years later.
Can we unlock the bootloader on the G8x with this method?

It seem that this tutorial from LG work with the LG G7. But, I wonder if it work on the most recent model.

You don't need network signal guru. There's some secret code that you can get from a simple google search to get into the secret field test menu. It gives all the network related info and let's you lock on to specific 4g bands as well.
LG supports G850EMW for G8X as well as V50s. I already received unlock.bin.
A bigger problem is extracting boot.img from the stock ROM. The latest LG KDZ Extract tool is from 2014 and doesn't handle the new DZ format.
Using the 'KSZ extractor for new format KDZs' by runningnak3d I could extract boot.img from a G850EMW20a ROM (Android 10). This will allow systemless root with Magisk.
Dec 15: rooted.

Rooting methods the same for all variants of S10 Lite?

I have the US Model SM-G770U1 (unlocked 8GB GSM/CDMA) , are the rooting methods I see for the SM-G770F the same for my phone?
