My experience with Google Pixel battery life and fast charging power bank for it - Google Pixel Accessories

Just got my Google Pixel phone, feel excited! Used it for some days, the battery life is amazing. It takes forever to get this Google Phone to fully discharge it's battery. I streamed 1080p HD Video for maybe 3-4 hours, and that only knocked off about 1/3. I then turned the GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, and Google Maps on and starting zooming all over the world in Satellite mode with the screen turned up to full brightness - trying to stress the phone and the battery. No luck. After leaving it to sit all night, it was still only down to 29%........1 day 21 hours later.
But as a crazy Android fanboy dependent on smartphone, I still think it is essential to get an external battery pack for travelling on the go.
I searched on Amazon and got one, used it to charger my Pixel, screen showed charging rapidly, max power nearly to 5V/3A with ampere App. Extremely fast, it only takes 70 mins to juice up the phone from empty to full.

[Q] Quick question about my battery graph

Just curious, do the blue bars beneath the graph correlate with the time axis above it?
Would I be right in thinking that my battery life plummeted as soon as I turned off wifi?

Yes. Probably more likely to be related to screen on, and possibly mobile data. Depending on the brightness, it seems like 4-6 hours of screen on will eat the battery.
Yes it does correlate.
The thing is you just had WiFi on for some period, but you didn't do much in that specific time, it was just on. But just after you had turned it off some apps or processes kept running and you also used the device.
That graph looks pretty fine to me.
Regards.

That's not true screen by itself will not eat battery so fast , review site did media playback test of SD material and battery lasted little over 9 hours.
Only combination of radio+CPU+display will get you 4 hour mark, that's worst case scenario.
Cool, thanks for the replies. Makes sense now

Funny, I always did get decent battery and never understood all the complaints. If you shut down 90% of the crap (BT, WiFi, GPS, News twice a day, weather twice a day.........) I could in theory leave the house and make it home.
My problems is I listen to radio at work!
Nice find, will give a try.
It looks like you did not use the phone much that day.
I can probably get two days or more from my Photon if I am not using it
Bu even when I am using it a lot, I get home at the end of a day (around 7:00 PM) with 60-70 percent battery life remaining. I think one of the keys is to used Sep CPU to low power when the screen is off.
good info i'll try

my battery strategy

LHere is what im doing to prolong my battery life as much as possible...
I downloaded Juice Defender, i keep that running all of the time. I rooted and got SetCPU, profiles will be in a picture below. I set it up so that as my battery drains so does my speed. I am using a plain black background. and not very colorful widgets or apps. I also froze some bloatware. I am currently at 34%. been going for 9 hours, 32 minutes, and 37 seconds on battery. Listening to music for a few hours, playing Pokemon crystal for hours, email constantly running, and texing. Display was on for 2 Hours so far. I will update when i hit 0%.

You said the display was on for 2 hours right? Well if you've been texting and playing Pokemon for hours that all counts in screen on time doesn't it?
Just go to Amazon and order the two batteries that come with a wall charger. I don't have to do any of that and I'm never tethered to a wall. It was less than $30 for all of it.

Possible solution for horrible battery life w/mod use (<4hrs)

I was having HORRIBLE battery life over the past 3 weeks and went through everything from running different kernels, roms, etc before just giving in. When I say horrible, I mean if i had my phone in airplane mode while listening to music at the gym (not using the display), my battery would go from 100-25 in only an hour. All the while, the phone became incredibly hot.
My solution: I finally gave in and called Verizon. I explained my phone had been overheating with light/moderate use and the lady offered me a warranty exchange. That east.
After I received my new phone I then installed 3.14 w/ s-off & CleanRom DE 1.4 (same setup I ran with the last phone) and now my battery life is MUCH better. I used it at the gym today with Pandora for about 45 min (screen off) and it only drained about 15% of the battery.
I understand the phone isnt ALWAYS the issue but if you are getting crazy heat from only running music... your phone is probably messed up.

U.S. Snapdragon battery life

So far, this phone has the best battery life of any phone I've ever owned. By far. Part of that appears to be incredible standby efficiency, which isn't shown in the standard battery life tests the various blog sites run. I waited for several days to give things a chance to settle in, and on the 5th day charged the phone to 100% before going to bed. Nine hours later, it had used only 5% of battery. No other phone I've owned has come close to that. (Another night, I turned AOD on, and after about 8 1/2 hours battery was down 11%. Not too shabby.)

22 hours, and 5 hours SOT later, I was at 38% battery. I've never gotten close to 5 hrs SOT before. If I got 4 hours, I was down to 10% battery or less. (My eyes ain't great, so I probably turn the screen up brighter than a lot of people do.)
So far I'm pretty impressed with this phone.
