I need a control pad bluetooth for my smartphone, and I thought to buy this.

[Q] Gamepad

Anyone know of a compatible gamepad that works with the Transformer? I know there is the Datel Wii Retro Wireless controller, but I was hoping for something to use via the USB ports.
You could use a Wiimote along with a nunchuck controller or a Wii classic controller.
Looking for a USB gamepad, as I don't want to use bluetooth.

uh...why not bluetooth?
I think he is wanting an actual d pad plus analog stick to plug into the device. Which brings me to ask this question has anyone sync the ps3 controller to it?

I don't have high hopes w/ ps3 controller working.. (Though that woudl be conveniant; my ps3's been down for 2 weeks now and another 4 till I get psn again? urgh)
Exactly where i was going with that

Not the most powerful hardware in the world, but should be able to easily emulate up to, maybe including the PS2? I never saw touchscreen devices as serious gameplaying devices because I'm archaic and need physical buttons and controller pad/joysticks, but this certainly changes things with native support.

The wiimote is confirmed working. I'm listing game controllers in my master Emulator and Rom compatability thread, stop by and list the emus and roms that are working for you.

[Q] gaming controller

i posted in the main forums Q&A then later realized that i should probably post it here since it relates to the galaxy tab....
does anyone know if you buy the usb adapter, if you can plug in a usb game controller and have it work with emulators? i want to get a decent gamepad for playing games...if anyone can help shed some light on this...
thanks in advance!
depends on the controller. You would need the custom rom for ps3 and xbox but the wii works fine. most PC gamepads work fine too with adapter.

I use a logitech dual action usb controller on a completely stock galaxy 10.1 and it works perfectly.

Wiimote + Wii Classic Controller works great.
SNES9x EX supports it natively. 90% of my tab usage time has been A Link to the Past.

Game Controllers

I read a glut of reviews when they were posted last night so forgive me for not remembering which one mentioned this, but..
I thought I read somewhere that the tablet will have native support for Xbox 360 controllers (with wireless adapter--though I believe HC already supports this) and wireless PS3 support, as in they added drivers to support them.
Has anyone else heard this? That would be amazing if PS3 controllers started working without having to open an app every time you wanted to use it and then disable it when you were done.

The current transformer supports this as well. The problem is app support. There's an app on the market that does really well with the xbox 360 controller, and will even map the analog nubs to buttons. It has worked the best in the emulators that I used it with.

Ps3 works you just have to configure the controller on a pc first!

As far as I've understood, you've always had to use apps like these to get it to work. I think what I read was that the Prime will have native support, so I am assuming all you would do is turn on bluetooth and then the tablet & the controller would automatically pair together.
Don't get me wrong, I plan to use the hell out of a controller on this thing--I'm not complaining. It would just be awesome if every time I didn't have to launch a separate app before I launch the actual game/emulator.
Video I saw last night said that TF Prime supports game controllers right out of the box.
Video @ 6:15 talks about Game Controller
I don't know why reviewer used USB BT to TF keyboard base. I'd think you could go direct to tablet BT.
Look forward to hearing full answer to this question though.

Yes, like I said, the problem is app support. The game shown in the video apparently supports game pads with analog sticks. A lot of games, however, do not. So, if you want to use analog sticks in a game that does not recognize them, you will probably need to do something like what I had posted before so that you can re-map those to keyboard buttons.
Bluetooth Controler
This is my first post on the xda-developers forum.
Your are missing out on a GREAT Bluetooth controller for the Prime.
This is my first Android tablet so I hope my idea of a perfect portable gaming machine works!
Here is the dual analog controller I found. Check out phonejoy-net as a new member I am not able to post links.
This software (Bluez IME) for 4 bluetooth controllers in the Market.
Now I am not sure that this will work on the Asus Prime? Any recommendations?

Eh, I've got enough game pads, and if OnLive ever launches, I'll probably pick up their controller as well. I've got 4 xbox 360 controllers and an iControlPad. All of them work with my current transformer.
I preordered from Gamestop and they include a bluetooth game controller.

I was going to order that two because of the bundled games, but they didn't specify which color they were selling. I want/ordered champagne gold and I assumed they were shipping amethyst gray.
Re: Game Controllers.
Am I reading this thread correctly, that you can use some kindof software to use a blue tooth game controller on " any game " after I go through some kindof controller button programming.
OR
are Game Controllers only for " games designed to work with game controllers".
Thanks

Unfortunately, it's for the latter. On the plus side, I expect the vast majority of Tegra Zone games to support controllers, if only because nvidia seems to be advertising that feature hard. Can't wait to try that shadowgun game!

Any game that allows for keyboard input, you can map to gamepad controls with the use of another app. For apps that directly support gamepads, you just need to tell it to use the gamepad input.
I've read all the thread.... but I can't find my anwser
(beleive it or not) I have no controller pad at home. My Prime being pre-ordered, what pad would you recommand me to buy ?
Xbox ?
Ps3 ?
Wireless ? (If i could keep my dock's usb port free while emulating or gaming, it would be great...)
What is the must-have ?
(thx !!)
So did anyone tried with xbox360 gamepad ? is it working ? what do I need to get to be able to use xbox360 gamepad ?
One of the pre-release reviews I've watched on Youtube, was demoing the gamepad.
Asus sent out the Logitech F710 with his Prime.
The reviewer plugged the Logitech dongle into the TF keyboard USB port, and was plug and go.
How about the wii controller? I haven't used any controllers for my a500, but I want to for my Prime. I have all 3 controllers, I just figured the wii was more "portable".
NVM. watched after I wrote. supports all 3. niiiiiice
I want to know if a 360 controller works. Possibly with the USB dongle Microsoft sells for the PC?

This should help
Gamers can then play the game with an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 controller. By the end of 2011, about 40 games that take advantage of the Tegra 3's advanced features will be available.

You'd need a USB adapter for tablet, or the keyboard base to plug in any USB dongle though, a few I've seen are WIFI dongles.
PS III looks to have a Bluetooth Version that should probably work. I would look for an actual confirmation before buying one on that basis.
Does anyone know if the prime will let you connect more than one Bluetooth device at a time? I would like to use a PS3/Phonejoy controller along with my Bluetooth headphones.

looking for recommendations for gamepad and Bt mouse

Hi all
I've been reading around the net and here and I couldn't find an answer, so your help will be appreciated ....
Right now I have Logitech dual action wired usb game controller, that works in some of the games, and a Microsoft presenter 8000 bt mouse that doesn't connect to the prime at all (although working gr8 on my laptop and sgs2), I'm looking to buy a bt mouse and a game controller.
I wanted some recommendations as for the best wireless gamepad out there and a working bt mouse.
I understood that the ps3 sixaxis is working but what about a non original sticks?
I read also about logitech f710 and gamestop controller, wii controller and xbox.. .
which one is Better? Which one is compatible with most of the games?
Is there away to connect my MS presenter to the prime?
what other BT mice do you have and work (or doesn't work) with your prime ?
(Tfp android 4.0.3)
Any information will be welcomed

The Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse works great on my prime and my laptop, folds up nicely for easy storage, reads any surface except clear glass. it is NOT $60 in most places. got mine on amazon for ~30 a couple months back.
The iControlPad is the gamepad i use, and works WONDERS on the emulators. i have yet to try it with other native android games, but its great on everything yongzh makes

If you are looking for something that works out of the box with more than a hundred games and doesn't require root. Then Phonejoy (www.phonejoy.us) may be something for you. Also currently 10% off for the remainder of the month. May be worth checking out.
OnLive Universal Controller works natively with everything I've thrown at it (Various market games, Emulators, OnLive) and it has the added bonus of having some degree of compatibility with PCs, Macs and the like too.

What accessories have you used with the USB OTG adapter?

So I just got my USB adapter, and it's awesome to be able to use my keyboard, wireless mouse and portable storage with my tablet.
Just wondering what other peripherals you guys have used with your Tablet S.
I use a wired gamepad, or bluetooth sync a PS3 controller with it to play games like Grand Theft Auto III and Crash Bandicoot.
Unfortunately the Playstaion Suite is such a fail in execution to offering the full PSOne backlog, or recognizing games I purchased on my PS3 already. :/
Im want to buy a bluetooth keyboard and a ps3 controller, do many games/apps support the ps3 controller?

Yep, there's a thread listing the games that (don't) work. There's a specific post that breaks many games down too.
