ROM "CUOCO92" .7z format. How to install? - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

Doesn anyone know how it is possible to install a firmware in .7z format?
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=57909
LE_X2_X820_STABLE_018S_20160929_FSB_CUOCO92.7z
I am able to install rom in .zip format, through TWRP menu and then install the rom (rom is located in main root) but I don't know the procedure with .7z files and CUOCO92 (quite rude) doesn't answer to my question

You have to unpack the whole archive and run it on windows while your phone is connected with usb cable. It's basically a fastboot flash, you will lose everything, including internal storage content.
I understand Cuoco92 somehow. He probably had to explaint this multiple times.
And why did you post this in ROM section in the first place? This should go to Q&A or you could have asked your question in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/how-to/rom-cuoco92-multilanguage-debloated-t3395175 .

Thanks for your reply and sorry, but I had not seen that there was already a topic.
Do you know usually what is the file I have to select to start the process.

ClockworkMod Recovery SucessFULL are we ready for Custom ROMS ?

I did not wanted to hijack Konush thread..
Questions
1-After successfully flashing Recovery, are we ready for vibrant custom roms when they become available ?
2-Would any of the Europeans roms (Galaxy's) work in our Vibrants ?
3- There are TWO option in this recovery for the "ZIP" files.
Do we " apply sdcard:update.zip ? or install zip from sdcard ?
Thank you all..

#1
yes
#2
possibly
#3
you can do either
This may not be the right forum to ask those questions, beware you may get flamed by someone else, a mod will probably move this to general, so in the future you may want to post questions in general
#3. The only difference is that "apply sdcard:update.zip" the package that you're trying to flash HAS to be named update.zip or it won't flash.
install zip from sdcard: the .zip can be named anything and it will be in a list and you select what .zip you want to flash.
Same functionality but it just doesn't have to be named update.zip to flash and agreed with what defconoi said.
My apologies to MOds by posting in the Dev section, did not mean it just realize it, Last question Does it matter in which card I put the flashing file in ?
we have two external ?
Thank you both.

My assumption is that it'd be on the internal (/sdcard) because your ACTUAL sdcard is on (/sdcard/sd/) but that's just my guess.
I'm not too sure though, we'll see what happens when a custom ROM is actually released. I'm sure that someone will ask the same question.
It will be on internal because the recovery cannot access the external sd card.
Hi,
If we do not install clockwork recovery, can't we flash any rom as long as it is named update.zip.
Or to we need clockwork recovery to flash a different rom?
Thanks

YOU need clockwork recovery to flash another ROM. At this time, I don't believe there are any 100% confirmed working ROMs for the Vibrant at the time, you could try some European ones but you'll most likely encounter some problems somewhere along the line.
Modaco's rom allegedly works pretty well (A few nagging things, but works)

Need help, trying to install ROM and having issues

So I'm trying to install cyanogen rom on my lg optimus t and did everything i thought i was supposed to. PArtitioned the SD card and created folder 'AAA' where I placed the rom zxip file, per the attached instructions i was following. Wiped appropriate data and even did a backup via system recovery menu. However, when i went to flash the rom via the system recovery menu, I get E:no zip files found. I can't do a NAND restore either. I pretty certain that the zip file is on the sd card in the zip folder but can't get to it for some reason. Any body got any ideas? phone won't reboot either, stuck at the android splash screen.
Here's the instructions I was following //lgp500.wordpress.com/2011/07/07/gingerbread-cyanogenmod7-rc1-rjtchn-installation-guide/
you'll need to add the http prefix since forum policy won't let me post a link as a new user with less than 8 posts. Thanks.
Brice
Sigh. Did you copy the file before you partitioned the card? If yes, then you should have realised that the partitioning process will wipe all data on the sd card. Connect the phone to a computer and copy the zip file again.
yes the last thing i did was to copy the zip file the folder i created after partitioning. the folder was created on the fat32 part of the card. unfortunately, when i toggle the USB mass storage from the recovery menu, the drive doesn't show up on my computer. The phone won't start up now and so I can toggle it through the OS either. Is there some way to get the drive to show up when toggling the USB -MS through the recovery menu?
Possibly there were some errors when copying. If you have a card reader then try connecting the card to the computer through it. Else try partitioning again thorugh recovery, then see if the drive shows on the computer.
so i got the rom flashed and seems to be working but i'm not seeing the notification bar. anybody had this issue with cyanogenmod7-rc1?
Hem as far as getting your PC to recognize your phone when it
Plugged in the USB its prolly do to a lack of phone drivers. Don't know if the would be in the android sdk. Found allmy HTC phone drivers with it. And as far as the status bar h should be able able to change font colors St inthe cyanogenmod options under settings. Hope this helps some

Thanks all, I just reflashed the rom wand the notification bar was there and all seems to be working well. Thanks for all the good advice. Once I got a card reader and moved the zip files out of the folder I created and into the root directory of the card the phone saw them fine and was able flash the rom. I'll definitely download those drivers

If your phone is not rooted, then you can't have any ROM installed.

The sticky thread is the one that is stuck on the top of the forum, with [READ FIRST] in the title.
I would also like to quote something else:

Can't find zip files via stock recovery to update

So I was going to root my galaxy s2 and first went into the recovery mode.
I went to locate the zip file to update through and I couldn't find it, I put the two zips needed in the main directory and when I go to recovery mode I can see my folders but not the zip files, I've checked twice.
Any help?
Solved
Sorry, I placed my two zips the internal sd but recovery was looking at external card.
My bad.

hey dude, at least dont be a noob when ur posting.
when u have new issue's please use the same thread u have created, by just editing ur thread title, rather than creating a new thread for each of ur issue's
u know what i am trying to tell u right.
so please see to it in the future, else people who really want to help will ignore u for the same.
because creating new threads unneccessarily and spamming is against XDA rules.
I understand, Its just I found I had a diffrent issue regarding SuperSU and not finding a zip file.
But I see what you mean and will do in the future.

Flashable Zip to tar.md5

Hi.. Can somebody tell me if there is a way to convert flashable zip files to Odin tar.md5 files !!!!
I hav searched and read some related threads but none of them gave a conclusive answer for the question. Some explained how to convert .img files to tar files & some explained creating tar files by using 7zip (actually 7zip only create a file with .tar extension) but my question is how to convert zip files which don't have image files like for example if i wanted to flash some apps ported from other devices (camera, gallery, keyboard etc...) and i don't want to flash them through Recovery (I don't hav one) then HOW???
Technically speaking, you'd need to create an image of the partition containing content from your .zip folder (with proper permissions and stuff created by updater-script) and then you should pack it as system.img into .tar.md5 file.
The questions is WHY you want to do this, it's NOT common and there's absolutely no point in doing that.
Question is why no recovery

Well, consider installing a corresponding CWM :good:

I don't want to install a Recovery as it increases Binary count every time v boot the device. I personally don't like to increase my count. Every time i enter into Recovery to flash a zip file it will trigger the count. I know Triangle away can make the count zero but then i have to use it every time after using Recovery & I don't want to go through all that hassle.
Why i don't like an increase in count.... It's more like OCD
So, is there any easy n simple method to convert files !!! Am not much of a Android student. It's like am at Kindergarten level at Android University

There's no easy way of doing what you want. There IS a way, but definitely not easy one.

Already done above.
Easier solution is mobile odin, although it can't flash all zips.

[Q] Roms in rar format and not zip

Very noob question but need help on it. My recovery cant find the roms i have download as they are in rar format and not zip. Anyone having the same issue? What to do? Please help. Thank u in advance
Well, you should go into your device specific forum and read the basics.
Tar format files are usually firmwares which require a pc and flash software to be installed.
Recovery always take .zip files.
Or… it could be that the tar files have a zip inside (double compressed).
