[Huawei G730-U10] Problems, problems and problems trying to use a custom recovery. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an "old" Huawei Ascend G730-U10 which has a terrible..... TERRIBLE stock ROM, starting from the general stability of applications and the system itself to the fact that this phone was released to be never, ever updated; so I want to install a custom ROM.
But since I'm doing it, there are over 9000 bugs and problems, and maybe the only thing that went almost right was rooting (except for the fact that I'm stuck with KingRoot since SuperSU refuses to install).
First of all, I couldn't even request the unlock code the usual way, since the code to bring up the Product ID didn't work and I had to contact Huawei directly.
After getting the code, I booted into the bootloader, did "fastboot oem unlock *code*" and... I don't even know if it worked! No message appeared and doing "fastboot oem get-bootinfo" returns "FAILED (remote: not support on security)".
After finding both a TWRP and a Clockworkmod build for this phone (the latter one is actually for G730-U00, I don't know if it would work), I tried doing "fastboot boot *path_to_recovery_image*", but that doesn't work either, as it just hangs on "downloading 'boot.img'..." without doing anything (last try I left it there for 20 minutes). I don't want to already flash the recovery directly since I want to test if it works and I don't want to brick the phone.
Can someone help me?

[Q] Rom manager flash for Atrix international, "Failed to boot 2"

Hello!
A month or two ago I bought the the non-US Atrix and I wanted to have CM7 on it.
As I thought the information on the steps over at this page would work even for the international Atrix I tried to flash clockwork recovery, and little did I know that it didn't work when selecting Atrix 4G as model.
When trying to get into android recovery returned the error "Failed to boot 2" I didn't think too much of it for the time being as I could boot Android as usual.
Now when there is a new system update available for my Atrix I obviously want to install that since I still haven't gotten CM7 to work. But when the phone restarts to install the update it gets stuck at "Failed to boot 2 Starting RSD mode". Restarting doesn't work since when Android starts up it wants to reboot into the installation of the update.
Is there anyone who knows or have tips on how to solve this problem. I would really like to be able to use my phone again.
Use the Motorola update tool.
Cwm didn't work provably cuz your bootloader isn't unlocked (?)

I still have the problem where my phone wants to restart every time I start it, and for Motorola Software Update to be able to update I have to have the phone connected during the whole process.
Or is there another way of doing it that I don't know about?

Stuck on recovery mode Sero 7 Pro while trying to install CM12

Hey all,
Tried installing CyanogenMod 12 on my Sero 7 Pro while following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297246 for files.
I successfully flashed Clockwork mod and had my device rooted. After following the steps in this guide here http://www.androidbeat.com/2015/01/how-to-install-cyanogenmod-cm12-android-device/ for installation, I then tried to install CyanogenMod. Upon doing so, I get hung up on this screen

and eventually I receive this message
I'm not able to reboot at all into android as I pretty much have no OS at this point in time. I tried sideloading the .zip on here and I get the same message. I also tried various other ROMs and received the same error message. Pretty sure I messed something up here... :crying: Anyway, if you guys can help me fix this issue, I would really appreciate it. Sorry for the noob question!
Thanks!
Well, seems like I must have installed an old version of CWM or something. Not sure. I decided to try flashing TWRP which worked. I tried again using this loader, and, for some strange reason, it hung up on the same screen. I decided to leave it and walk away just in case. After a few minutes I came back and it successfully installed! :good:
Running CM12 build by Meticulus! (Thanks!)
(Can't post pictures yet since I can't do outside links until 10 posts, but take my word for it! worked!)

At first time i thought it was caused by installing a downloaded theme in the playstore, i have try to wipe data & cache but still same. i get some opinions about this, first, this is just an update failure, maybe EMUI update, nonsense wipe data & cache not work. Second, after newly sign up the phone again, before log in Huawei ID it's appear "Your phone is rooted", i don't know what's happen, dude. I immediately check out about
. Third, this phone still have Bootloader locked and FRP locked, check from fastboot on Huawei multi tool. Fourth, try so many times to get some update EMUI form Huawei eRecovey and restore and get failed to connected server.
I have try to find stock ROM LDN-LX2, and not found. if some one have some clues, or ideas, suggestion, please tell me.
this error booting is very annoying, the device still can boot up to home menu but too late and get some lagg/slow respone at sometimes.
Thank you,
regards, new member.

MiFlash error - not catch checkpoint(\$fastboot -s .*lock),flash not done

Hi Guys,
I am trying to re-flash stock rom and re-lock Bootloader, because I need Google Pay working and Xiaomi.eu ROM with MIUI 12.2.7 has CTS Verification error and fixes using su and props do not solve the issue.
So... I downloaded the newest ROM for UMI and I receive an error:
not catch checkpoint(\$fastboot -s .*lock),flash not done as on the screenshot below

}
When I choose "clean all" option, I get an error: "Antirollback check error".... So I am unable to reflash ROM .
I am using this ROM: umi_global_images_V12.0.1.0.QJBMIXM_20200709.0000.00_10.0_global
Does anyone have an idea how to make it working? Can it be caused by Android 11 installed on my Mi 10?
Phone is not bricked, it's fully operational, I can use Xiaomi.eu rom, TWRP is working, but I cannot revert to stock...
i have the same problem. Did you solved it?
As these are snapdragon devices you will probably find a mine of useful information in the htc forum and other forums of well supported devices that use the same chipset.
Be careful with snapdragon devices as you WILL brick it if you don't know what you're doing.
Dont quote me but for some reason just flashing the exact same rom that the device was running when you rooted it comes to mind.. I could be wrong. I also remember many people bricking because they went the wrong way about relocking the bootloader.
Check this, for anti-rollback bypassing: https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-anti-rollback-protection-brick-phone/

Question (solved) Cannot install a custom ROM

Hello everyone, a week ago I received my Mi 11 Lite 5G and the first thing I did was unlock the bootloader. Today I managed to unlock it and tried to install a custom ROM (xiaomi.eu). However, I had a problem that made the operation impossible. I forgot to activate the option "install via USB" thinking that this one was not important, obviously I underestimated it. My question is: do you have any solution to reinstall the basic ROM (there isn't system currently), or activate this option other than in the phone (in fastboot with adb for example...), regardless of the method, I hope there is at least one.
Awaiting a positive response (I hope), greetings and I wish you all a merry Christmas.
This option doesn't really matter, if your bootloader is unlocked (as in there is a undone lock icon every boot above the Mi logo) just go into fastboot by shutting the phone off forcefully, then holding down Power + Volume Down until you see the Fastboot Screen as shown below

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then after that, check device manager in Windows to see if your device is being seen as "Android Bootloader Interface", if it is. Then you're good to go! Download the latest Xiaomi.eu ROM for Renoir then unzip it, then run the batch script for your case. You will lose all of the data on your phone's internal storage when installing though. So beware and be sure to make backups!
