1. Unlocked d bootloader (followed instructions on htcdev)
2.Flashed twrp recovery using d All-in-one-kit-for-Htc-Desire-X
3.booted in d recovery...installed d superuser manually included in d All-in-one-kit-for-htc-desire-x as the perm root wasnt working..

Pls help....tell me what m i doing wrong as i want to install a custom rom badly..
is twrp working ?
i'm a CWM user, but there should be a "backup feature".
backup your stock rom
then flash a custom rom
PROBLEM SOLVED
DONE
or check posts # 208 and # 214 on my thread
download the root.zip
and then flash that inside of twrp

i flash d superuser.zip from inside d twrp recovery...i reebot d recovery just to check if d "su" file is present in d system/bin from its file manager..but its not dere...i know m doing something wrong..idk what..
just adding the Superuser.apk, is not going to root your phone.
it's more like , you inject su, busybox, etc into the areas they need to be.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314836&page=21
go here to post number 208 , download that .zip file
then put it on your sd card
then flash it with twrp
reboot
then message me with your results
u just made my day..thank u
it worked

Similar problem
Hello!
I got a similar problem. I tried all standard methods (AiO tool, zip package from recovery (both CWM and TRWP), and i still can't get my desire x rooted. As colleague, i get the SU binaries missing. message.
What could be the problem, i have succesfully unlocked the bootloader, installed alternative recovery (TRWP in my case) and i am goddamn stuck.
THANKS THANKS THANKS

Hi All
I too am having problems when rooting my HTC Desire X.
I have tried several how to guides and can verify that I have everything working perfectly until the point of 'Rooting'.
When I complete the root process nothing happens. I have tried this with the following:
Desire_X_All-In-One_Kit_v1.1
WinDroid Universal Android Toolkit v2.0
Can you please advise.
I successfully rooted my last device which was the basic HTC desire and all was ok, I even upgraded from Sense to 'Mild Wild' which is why I want to root my HTC Desire X.
Regards
Trebz
Anyone..............?
Anyone..............?
Bump.
Can I get a Bheeermp.
No one....
No one at all has any advice about rooting this device.......

To root your device, you need to unlock bootloader first.
To unlock bootloader, you need a code from motorola.
That means, irrespective of what you do with your device after unlocking, you'll be out of warranty coverage.
Does not matter if you relock and unroot.

G wasn't released with 3.4 kernel. All root exploits are patched. You need to unlock your bootloader if you want root.

If u root MOTO E your warranty voids as simple as that...Dint heard any one rooting using mobogenie .May be u can try and let us al know abt it
yeah...i tried on moto g. simply google it and download the software "mobogenie"onto your computer.
go into my phone section.
it will ask you to connect your phone using usb. will download some drivers.
click on "one click root". will again download some files and you're good to go. haven't clocked or done anything.i only verified by a root checker app on play store.it said you have root access. after rooting the app showed "one click unroot button".

rooting moto e is possible only unlocking bootloader, to do so is required an unlock code from motorola, when you ask for the code the warranty is void. no way to restore, because even if you unroot it they know you have request the code to unlock bootloader and they say that in the page where you need to go to request the unlocking code.
EDIT: this is moto e, not moto g... so if it works for moto g doesn't mean it works for moto e

Rooting your Phone in the EU doesn't void its warranty, unlocking the bootloader doesn't either.
a recent ruling sated that if there is a hardware failure on the phone they (the retailer) has to prove that the failure is the result of you rooting the phone.

I just unlocked and rooted my second one for my wife today, with no troubles. Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-moto-e-2015-t3045748
It should work fine. If it doesn't, you must have done something wrong.
