Cyanogenmod 13.0 Unofficial Kinzie Port
I may stop updating the CM13 since the build is stable enough, to make LineageOS 14.1 more stable is my 1st consideration now.
Hi, everyone I'm from Taiwan! After @Arasthel and @Xadro have decide stopped(I'm not sure if they abandon it.) working on the cm12.1 project for a period of time, I decided to build cm13.0 for just testing, however, I'm not sure if I can make it at the beginning. But finally I've make it booted and fixed some of the bugs from Clark(I ported most of the code from official Cyanogenmod Clark source.) and I decide to share to all you guys!
What works:
Everything except:
GPS over Wi-fi will only works when Gapps installed.
IR sensor stop working when screen off.
[*]Problem with power-off charging. (It is charging without animation)
[*]Chop-Chop and torch tile is not working unless do a soft reboot(have to do this every reboot)
Kernel feature:
LCD KCAL support by @savoca (What is this feature for?)
NTFS support
CIFS support
Westwood TCP congestion algorithm (enabled by default)
Compatibility:
This ROM is MAINLY for MOTO X Force, not recommend to flash in Droid Turbo 2
Confirmed working on CN variant(XT1581), it should work on EU Moto X Force and Brazil, but I don't have these devices to test, report to me if it works or not.
Some Chinese user reported they can flash this ROM from stock 5..1.1 ROM without having any problem.
If you have any modem problem such as no signal or no Wi-Fi connection, flash clean stock ROM base on your variant and then flash this ROM.
Downloads:
ROM:
Latest CM13.0 ROM for Kinzie
OpenGapps: Platform: "ARM64", Android: "6.0", Variant: "pico" or "nano" is recommended
SuperSU: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
LineageOS Stock SU: https://download.lineageos.org/extras
Installation instructions:
Unlock bootloader, if you don't know how to do it, please check the posts or search from Droid Turbo 2 section.
Flash TWRP from bootloader. @Xadro's version is recommended.
First and the most important is to do a nandroid backup from TWRP! Then do a clean install (wipe /data, /cache and /system from TWRP.) After flashing the ROM, flash a Google apps package or SuperSU If you don't like stock Cyanogenmod root manager, and then reboot.

Thought IR sensor is not working, the active notification works well by proximity sensor.
Since IR sensor have no issue when screen on, UserAwareDispay is also working great.
ChopChop and Twist gesture also works as it should, the problem is the camera not doing well in launching.

I will try it and let you know how I get on with it as I've always liked CM. My phone is a moto x force. UK. I hope you will continue to provide updates.

Hi i have just installed the rom and most things appear to be working ok wifi gps calls etc but i cannot get active display or double tap to sleep and wake to work at all. i have enabed ambient display setting for waking screen when picking up or recieving notification also i am noticing many settings are lost upon reboot device e.g root settings developer options etc are all lost upon reboot.

You have to first enable ambient in diaplay is setting, then tune it in gesture. With active display, we don't need double to wake anymore, and double tap to sleep is also in display setting.
It seems that you didn't install the ROM with wipe(/data, /system, /cache) because these issues never happened to me even in the very first boot version.

i have done all that and i did wipe properly i wiped everything aprt from internal storage. i have set ambient display and setup gestures etc but still not getting any notifications neither is the screen pulsing when i pick up phone. I have used CM on many phones before so i am quite familiar with how things should work. I have also tried using ac display from the playstore which mimics active notifications by moto phones but even that will not work.

Finally a CM13 rom is happening for our long forgotten MXF !! I'll test it as soon as possible and I hope I can use it as daily driver
One question : about the RAM is it 2.5gb or 3gb available?
Because with the stock rom only 2.5gb is available for the system, the kernel reserve 0.5gb for the adreno gpu that can't be used

Available RAM is 2.5 GB, none of device is able to obtain all of the RAM which is occupied by kernel. It have to reserve for the kernel.

Oh... too bad... well , 2.5Gb at least with the proper RAM Management of CyanogenOS is better than nothing

His keyboard doesn't has it!! xD
Btw I'm trying this rom. It's so good because it's full of features, well organized. But I've found two bugs:
1) with stock kernel, the phone doesn't goes in deep sleep;
2) It takes a long time to boot. Not only at first boot, bit everytime you reboot
I hope that this can help!
EDIT: clean flashed last 2110 build + pico PA gapps and now the phone goes in deep sleep; the long time boot bug is still there... Btw thanks for tour work!
Nope my keyboard doesn't has it! Lol jjisy like ypur with sentence check jokers from hawaii it no time for ,. And crap lol
+1 I'm experiencing the same things. Great work though.
I was having a slight issue is with hover. Where it was active in the notification panel but off in the main settings.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Instructions:
Before instaling, make sure you are running the latest Oreo firmware from the latest HTC Sense.
If you are encrypted but running an AOSP ROM then you're fine. If you come from Sense, take a full backup of all your data, boot into TWRP and format data (the option which requires you to type "yes") and clean flash accordingly. This is due to encryption changes. Do not skip this step or you will be locked out of your system by a password prompt.
If you are coming from any other ROM wiping /data is strongly recommended
Download the latest build and GApps (both links are below).
Reboot to TWRP.
Flash the latest build and GApps.
Reboot and enjoy (as much as currently possible)
Downloads:
ROM: lineage-15.1-20181007-UNOFFICIAL-ocn.zip - Mega.nz Mirror
Google Apps: OpenGapps - or MindTheGapps-8.1.0-arm64-20180808_153856.zip
AFH Mirror.
Known Issues:
Verizon/Sprint are reportedly unstable.
Voice and Text over LTE doesn't work with every carrier.
Reporting bugs:
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred (please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing).
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg (do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot, a logcat after a reboot is useless).
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

what are the properties of this rom? and screenshoot?
Dirty flash over slim rom 8.1 works just fine. No setup wizard issues that way magisk + safety net fixes discussed in slim thread also working for me now.
Will update if issues with time but nothing to speak of immediately after flashing.
M.
Had a quick play with it. Seems alright so far. Good early release. Definitely a little laggier than slim.
Only issue I found was the buttons doesn't show 'recents' but shows menu. So you cannot set recent button at all.
Good work on getting it this far!

I have been on slim for a week and now on this obviously only for a few hours but I no stability problems on either (I assume LOS device bringup is based on what Flinny did to get slim running, so much is the same). Speed is good, battery is good, no crashes or reboots.
Safetynet can be fixed with magisk, aosp clock is not playing along (at least on slim) so just install google clock from app store, couple little things like that but nothing that can't be fixed by the user.
I've gone through and replaced a handful of the stock aosp apps with the google play store equivalents, bsg gcam v4 works fine... But that is all just personal preference and everything works either way.

Yes, you're correct, it is stated on the original post that this is based on Flinny's device tree however there are bugs on here that you won't find on Slim and there are bugs on Slim that you won't find here, source tree related stuff.
One example is button illumination settings are working correctly here and there's also an option to only illuminate buttons on keypress, so they behave like Sense. (the lights always-on annoy the hell out of me).
I've tested the stock Clock and found no issues on my end. I'm working on a workaround to fix SafetyNet without needing to flash an additional zip. I'm updating the "Known Issues" section as I make progress and as more bugs are found. Keep reporting them

Oh that's no good, did you also use OpenGapps? I'll give other gapps a try and report accordingly on the main post. I haven't had playback issues on any other app other than YT. NewPipe is working on the meanwhile.

Beware of the bugs. This is still a very early stage. You don't have to thank me for this, Flinny did all the hard work with Slim.

Not yet, and as of now GesturesHandler isn't enabled either so no gestures for the time being. I'll look at that later, there's some more important issues to address first.

Also I just noticed that this rom has some regular hiccups in the sense the phone would freeze for a moment and force close the app that would be running. Is anyone else facing this problem?

It definitely has some hiccups here and there but the only app force closing itself on my end is YouTube, which I'm still unsure why. I need to seek the help of a more experienced developer, the only related thing I can spot in the logcats is errors with the vp8/9 decoder but I'm not sure if that's why and also unsure how to fix atm. I'm still investigating :/
I'll push an update very soon to fix some other things tho.
edit: Update is live. I think I fixed the YouTube FC. At least it works now on my side. Changelog is on the second post.

A. Bugs
Did you find a bug or problem?
Make a logcat and put it in pastebin/hastebin. I'll look when I can
You will need a computer, adb installed, usb debugging enabled on the smartphone and a usb cable.
Here's how to do it here.
1. Open Command Prompt (Windows) or Terminal (Linux/macOS).
2. Type:
Code:
adb logcat -d > logcat-dd-mm-yyyy.txt
This will save the log to logcat-dd-mm-yyyy.txt.
B. Magisk
Please do not ask me about compatibility with Magisk.
The i9100 Kernel (3.0.101) does not support namespace to work.
C. Root
PixelExperience does not contain software engines to support root access support for legacy devices such as LineageOS. No patience to adapt / develop a solution.
For now, the builds are rootless (forgot to warn).
I'll check a way to bring compatibility when you have time
D. Error 7
ROMs android 8+ require TWRP with version 3.2.3 or higher because of the security script to ensure that it will not be installed on different phones, avoiding major problems.
The Pixel Experience is no different. In order for you to have OTA updates or success in clean installation, you need to update TWRP.
Upgrade from Samsung stock ROM to latest build using ODIN 3.13.1
Also recommended for devices with Android 4.4 - 5+

I had to give couple of clean flashes and a lot of reboots to make it working.
Pixel setup app kept on crashing on first boot and couldn't bypass it.
Finally managed to boot.
All working fine so far but with some stutter and slowness
I have upgraded from Pixel Experience 8.1 with a dirty flash (only cache and dalvik wiped). It was running with the first boot. All the functionality I need is working well. But it is a little bit slower than 8.1.

I am aware of this and looking for solutions to optimize
Flashed this ROM the other day. The UI seems very slow and stutter-ish with this ROM.
I wanted to flash another ROM today, but i just noticed, that connecting via USB is not working anymore. When I go into the setting menu, everything is grayed out.
I tried different ports on my computer as well as different cables.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

While I was trying to find a way to flash another ROM I discovered, that probably my Micro-USB-Port went bad / defective, because I would get weird behaviour when connecting it to my PC (connected - not connected - connected every 2 seconds).
So I am pretty sure this issue is hardware related. Thanks anyway for your quick response!

When you finish installing the ROM by TWRP, do the cache cleaning before you reboot, ignore all the initial configuration and make the menu settings.

Hi @followmsi,
Thanks again for your dedicated work(s ) on our tablet.
One question:
Is cam recording via Skype (or other apps) working on both sides (back and front)?
Or only on one side (front(face)) like other PIE releases?
Thanks for your reply.

awesome,
just tested with T585 very briefly. It installed ok, the system ui crashed during first boot, but after a reboot everything went fine.
Tested the cameras with open camera app and camera2 api enabled - both cameras take photos and can record videos. Flash working ok. Didn't test with skype or other apps.
The photo camera app (I think google camera from gapps, maybe, or the default camera app - I'm not sure) keeps crashing sometimes, even without opening it manually, but that happened on other pie roms aswell.
Using the GPS was freezing the tablet at first (as usual with pie for me). But after awhile started to work ok and got a fix on gps test app.
The only thing I'm worried about now is how the charging will behave. On other pie roms (and I think probably on some oreo roms) it kept stopping at around 80% for me (when using a low power charger, but I think I tried with the original charger a few times and results were the same. It will take some time to test this using different chargers (keeping my fingers crossed, that it would be enough to charge once with the low power charger and confirm that it charges to 100% at first try. But if not - another few charging cycles will be needed). Will post about any results regarding charging.
Also I have a question - does this rom include the kernel that has CIFS support, or should we install it separately (didn't find the time to test this yet, sorry..)
Anyway - good job, seems like a great start with RR pie for our tablets.

Hi @followmsi,
Thanks again for your dedicated work(s ) on our tablet.
One question:
Is cam recording via Skype (or other apps) working on both sides (back and front)?
Or only on one side (front(face)) like other PIE releases?
Thanks for your reply.

Same sources .. looks like the same "problem" .. maybe we need to adjust config only.
Video recording works on both front and back camera in builtin snap camera.

awesome,
just tested with T585 very briefly.

GPS is your very special problem
As said above .. builtin Snap camera works too - without issues. ( video and photo on both cams )
I dont not have any charging issues .. always 100% !
Same kernel for all (my) ROMs.
Yes - CIFS, NFS and ExFAT are part of all (my) Pie Roms. ( AICP too )
It's fix in the kernel sources and will be included into each new ROM automatically .. forever
Cheers

Did you by any chance add sysserv so Substratum can work properly or are you waiting for them to fully fix it first?

RR team did finally publish the sources .. RR 7.0 is live !
Tested the SM-T580 build as dirty install on top of Lineage-16.0 (64-bit) - no problems at all.
Magisk 18.0 works fine too.

It sure is.. Ever since the first custom rom I installed on the tablet - RR nougat. Though I believe it will start functioning flawless at some point
Though I thought the gps freezes are a one time thing after installing/restoring a pie rom, but it started freezing again when trying to use location again after a few hours when it was turned off. But I'll keep testing of course and maybe even resort to installing a stock rom through odin if I am convinced that it is different to restoring the custom rom with twrp (gps works fine this way on stock).
Also, I couldn't get the cifs mount to work, using the same command with busybox as in nougat, but will continue to do my research on this. Maybe I'm missing something and the process is somehow different on pie.
One other thing, which is probably not device specific - is there hope for upper lockscreen shortcuts to be enabled on RR pie? I didn't see them in the RR settings, but maybe this feature is not included yet on pie. Were the upper lockscreen shortcuts (like the music and camera in the attached screenshot) included in RR oreo?

ATM Subs only works on rooted Pie and you have to reboot after building overlays and before you can apply them.
Thanks for your reply ... I'll definitely keep an eye on the whole Pie situation and will flash your RR as soon as the Subs team sorts and RR implements it :fingers-crossed:

As followmsi said, this might be only my special problem
If you don't notice any issues - don't worry about it.
I installed this rom on my SM t585 yesterday.
Everything works except vibration. I tried installing LineageOS 16 before and I had the same problem. Vibration works perfectly when I boot into TWRP.
I installed after wiping all partitions of course. Does anyone have the same problem?

Yup Same here I was wondering why tablet doesn't vibrate during call or when I enabled vibration in keyboard. Not a major issue for me but still would be nice if it is fixed.?

As far as I can suggest and also from testing it's as stable as it can get, But most importantly try it out for yourself and provide feedback with logs if there is a problem, if in the case that you're facing them.
