I like the 6.6ft cord for by the couch and/or next to the bed when I'm charging the phone and am laying down. Sometimes I need a little extra length on the cord so it doesn't get pulled out of the wall.
The 1.6ft cord is prefect for charging in the car. I happen to drive a manual vehicle so it's nice that the cord doesn't get in the way. I was using the 3.3ft cord and it would get in the way sometimes when I'm shifting. The new length is perfect. Just long enough connect to my Anker AC vent magnet mount. All cords charged my phone "rapidly" so no complaints. I haven't done any data transfer onto a computer since most of it resides in the cloud.
The build the cords are nice, thick but not really flexible. I have USB cords from tronsmart and anker. The build on these feel about the same build quality. It's definitely more sturdy then some of the other thinner cords. Maybe since I've never owned one or tried a braided cord, I wish they could have had 2 braided 3.3ft cords and 2 regular 3.3.ft cords instead of 4 regular ones. All in all, I'd recommend this 6pack for someone who may need more cords then the single one they provide for you in the box.
Are these Nathan approved? I've been so tempted to buy some cheaper cables bit really don't want to get burned. I ended up purchasing the Apple 2m USB C to USB C cable as Nathan mentioned this is the best cable out there right now.

I also received these USB cables a few weeks ago for free from CHOETECH, I haven't left a review as I like to test stuff for more than a few days before recommending a product to anyone. I don't have any expensive meters to test voltages and stuff, but from day to day use, they function perfectly as they're supposed to. The build quality on the cables are amazing. As noted before, they are sturdy and by no means your typical cheap flimsy cable. I keep a cable by my bedside, a few in my car for on the go charging for me and my passengers, and one at the computer. The cables are pretty heavy duty since they're stepped on from time to time at my computer. Sometimes they get pulled on and cables still work perfectly, I can't comment on how fast these cables are because I have no use cases where it would max out the transfer speed, but it's fast enough for my needs. I also like the fact that they're plain cables in a plain bag with no flashy buzz words and tacky marketing on it. (Am I paying for the cables or for the fancy packaging?) I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to everyone else.

I concur with the opinion that these are of good quality and work well. I have used them to power both my Lenovo Yoga 910 and my Pixel, using both the Google Pixel OEM adapter and the Anker Powerport+ 60W adapter. One of the 3.3ft cables did have a damaged connector, which collapsed on insertion into my Pixel OEM adapter, but the others all work fine and seem to be sturdy and solid in construction. Choetech is sending me a replacement of that 3.3ft cable. I carry these in my bag every day and I've been charging overnight with the longer cable.

I CANNOT say the same for this E-marked Choetech 10Gbps cable +clockcycle links to, which now appears on the spreadsheet with a BAD rating. It fails to charge my laptop and my Pixel and also seems to put my Pixel into some sort of voltage protection state. I'm awaiting a replacement from Choetech, but I have my concerns considering the updated test results by Nathan K. I'll note that Benson had said in 12/2016 that the cable appeared to him to be good, but that it had some missing fields which he initially just attributed to it being a test unit that Choetech supplied for review rather than for retail sale. Since then, Nathan K. has noted the same issues and more with retail units, and those results are reflected in the BAD rating in the spreadsheet.

It just arrived and it's charging my TF + dock perfectly. I heard it charges a hair slower than the stock charger, but I don't mind. I also got an RMA for my ASUS charger, so now I can send it back to be fixed.
There are so many people are complaining about the charging issue that it sounds like a flawed design by ASUS. What I don't understand is: Why would anyone take a chance buying a new stock ASUS charger for $30+ when it might also be faulty? Especially when you can get one of these Dynex chargers for almost 1/6th the price!

I picked up this same charger for around the same price a few months ago. It has worked flawlessly. Now I would just like to purchase the Asus usb cable without the AC plug.

I called asus earlier today and got an rma for my charger. About an hour ago I tested another charger and I think I found out its the cable.
With the other charger, my cable didn't charge but with the other cable and my charger, it worked.

The voltage switch you see in the picture is disconnected from the wall plug piece. The wall plug piece is 15v and has a 6 foot wire to 5.5mm barrel plug, e.g. almost perfect for the TF101.
If you convert the connector to female USB you can plug the TF 40 pin USB cable directly into the wall plug piece, because you do not need the voltage switch and tips. The converter is difficult to find but I have found them on ebay.
Once I realized this information, I also found the wall plug 15v items separately on ebay.
However, the voltage switch and tips are very nice for charging other stuff, like iphone, cell phone, other tablets, etc., at 5v.
Just to make sure I understand this correctly....does this replace my ac plug if say i lose the plug and this will actually plug into my TF (since it uses a proprietary connection) or do I still need that connection and can use this for something else?
I saw this at walmart about a month ago for like $15. I had it in my cart and at checkout I took it out because I "felt" I wouldn't need it and wanted to save the money. Lol.
It definitely looks like a useful thing to have around the house.

Yep, you can buy the barrel to female USB on eBay. Check the diy charger thread for links and info on polarity. I was going to buy this from best buy when my charger first started acting up but I found a similar one in my garage! Now just waiting on my barrel to female USB to come in :-D

You still need the Asus USB cable that came with your tf. This just provides a 15v USB plug which is hard to find as most are only 5v and the tf needs above 11v to charge.

Right, that is it. There are lots of resellers on ebay.
Almost everything using USB is 5v -- EXCEPT the ASUS TF101 which puts 15v on the standard USB power lines. In my opinion, the cable shown can easily & safely handle the power levels. Just make sure nothing else (e.g. 5v stuff) gets plugged into the female USB socket at 15v.

I got a generic one from [a national store] and it charges but locks up the phone while charging.
So apparently there are differences.
I've used the USB cable from an HTC, a Samsung, and a Blackberry. All worked fine. Take apart a cable and see what's inside of it - I think you'll find they're all the same.
Universal Serial Bus is a standard. In Europe that means that all USB wall chargers have to be more or less the same. I use an Amazon Kindle charger with my Atrix just fine. Have also previously used chargers from other Android devices, WP7 devices and Blackberries.
In short, you'll be fine.

Fair point, I did name the wrong connector. In my defense the USB guys do mess with their connector names and types all the time.
A charger with exactly the same plug (from an lg clamshell) failed to charge my atrix but did turn it on.

All proper chargers work fine on mine!
DON'T use cheap 1$ china chargers! They often have badly stabilized voltage and can even destroy your devices!
While on devices with proper stabilisation the voltage should look like the topmost graphic on this image (even under full load), on cheap devices it often looks like the one on the bottom, or something inbetween!
Also, some very cheap chargers allow the device to draw too much current, while grilling some internal components of the device. This could even start a fire!

For cables, you can use the cheapest! I never had a cable break in a way it could destroy anything besides itself, and I always buy cheap cables from www.dealextreme.com!

Any of the usb wall chargers advertised for iPhones will work. I found an awesome one for my car by looking the in apple section at walmart.
I order nearly all cables from monoprice.com super duper cheap and they always work just fine. You can get a micro usb for less than a dollar.
I just use a chargers off monoprice. Super cheap adapter and cable.
My friend's galaxy charger fits, but does not charge properly. About 10% per hour.

Funny, my front-mounted USB ports (which put out just about 500mA) do a fine job for most devices including my Atrix. However, do not try to charge from dead via USB. For that you really need the full-power AC adapter. I use one from a previous phone at work (Samsung I think) and it charges in no time.
cable any micro USB cable will do. I have been using the cable that came with my kindle since I got the phone. The cable that came with my phone I think is in my car and the some random 3' cable in my bag for my computer. They all work fine. As for charging the computer and car USB is very slow as the only put out about 2.5 watts. The one that came with our phone puts out a little under 5 watts.
I always buy Monoprice cables. Although I have to admit the 1" micro usb cable I had been using from them seems to be broken as the cable will or will not charge depending on how its folded. But for the $1 or whatever I paid for it, it lasted a long time.

Almost forgot...I've been using the ipad wall charger. It's a 2amp charger and charges the phone extra fast. I've been meaning to look for car cigarette lighter to usb chargers that are intended for ipad so I can have that 2 amps available for any device.
Just for information.
I recently bought HTC Evo 3D for my wife and installed a self-made 5V/3A charger in her car. The charger converts 12V in-car to 5V/3A stable.
I immediately was stuck with a problem. Whenever I put her Evo 3D it charges nicely. But my Atrix don't.
I remembered there is something special in Atrix USB toward charging. I checked and found that adding 10K resistor between white (receive or transmit?) and red (+5V) wires let my Atrix charges as it should be.
10K resistor has no effect in HTC.
From what I know it is just a standard Micro USB, the usb to outlet adapter, I am not sure, but it looks like a fairly standard device.

Good to know I'm not the only one that has this problem, thought there was something wrong with my handset.
I've seen a little chatter on the New Trent battery packs, but haven't seen this issue, so I wanted to see if I can figure out what's up.
I've had the IMP500 (5000mAh) for 3 or 4 months and really like it in general. Well, the little micro USB adapter has a little too much play and after 30 or so plug ins and outs it has a hard time maintaining a connection, to the point where it's almost unusable.
When I use the included wire, it shows up as AC charging. But, if I use a 'real' USB cable, it shows up as USB... which as we know can't provide a positive charge while using.
I know about the whole shorting of the 2/3 pins to force an AC charge, and I can see the mechanics that give me AC with the New Trent wire. But it would appear that I'm out of luck without getting a new one of those.
Anyone know of a USB wire that will force AC charging?

No, because any cable that shorts 2-3 isn't a USB cable, just as a charger that doesn't isn't a USB charger. They simply don't meet the specifications. If they're labeled "USB" anything, call the manufacturer and complain.

Have you guys heard of Mediabridge? I got one of their ethernet cables, but now it's the only brand I buy when it matters. If anyone is still looking for a charging only cable, they have a long 6 ft. cable and a coiled cable - though they do have sync cables with the same stats too (and cheaper).

Simply do an Amazon search for Mediabridge USB Charging Cable and they should be the first 2 results that show. You can compare them with the data/sync cable because the data cable is a single color where the charging only has a dark cable and light grey terminals.
If you're interested in the data/sync cables you can find them under Mediabridge Hi-Speed USB 2.0
If you're using a wall charger or a car charger, either modify the cable (not ideal) or the charger itself (more ideal) to short the D-/D+ pins. When the phone detects the data pins shorted together it assumes it's connected to an AC charger. If you do this to a cable, make sure that only the micro-USB end is shorted and cut the wires so the USB A end isn't shorted.
Many PC USB ports are limited to 500mA draw anyway.
People seem to have a hard time finding chargers that will do "rapid charge". This is pretty random, but my Berkline 12003 leather movie chair USB's will rapid charge and they've been around for at least a couple years. Each chair has a pair of lit USB's to chose from. I have a couple 0.2m Type-C USB cables I keep in the armrests if I need to charge my phone. Also a couple microUSB cables in there for my wife's phone (S4 mini), which ALWAYS need to be charged. I'm guessing it is your average 5V @ 2.4A ports, and not the 3A ports that the true Type C faster chargers can put out, but it's still a good option!

I bet you're right. I assumed they'd put the cheapest possible on the chairs, but for the price of them they did the right thing.
I'd love one of these but kinda blew the holiday budget already! I'll add it to my "wishlist" for boxing day.

PM me if you want more info. A home theater isn't really that much unless you go overboard with top end stuff. For instance half the cost of the room is in the chairs.

I have a couple 2a or 2.4a USB wall plugs in my shop. Tried connecting the 6p to both with the same cable (but longer) and was surprised that neither does rapid charge. What does the output on a charger needs to be to rapid charge?
Yep and thanks! It's a dedicated room I planned for when building the house. Didn't go overkill on the room (9ftx16ft) or equipment like alot of people do, I saw no reason since I mainly watch movies off the HTPC and DirecTV. I designed the Calloway Cinema sign and a buddy cut it out on his CNC router.

if it says you're rapid charging off of legacy Type A to Type C cables, then your cables are not to spec. They are lacking the pull up resistor which is part of the spec to identify it as a legacy cable. Charge rates should top out at 1.5A with a proper cable.
You may not care but there it is.

I definitely do, thank you!! You're right it is a type A to type c cable, says rapid charging and definitely wouldn't doubt if they're not to spec. I've noticed they do charge way faster off the chairs than off a computer, the USB type A 2.1A and the USB type A 2.4a chargers in the shop all with the same cable. I just got some cables, Ankway, yesterday that supposedly have the resistor. I'll give those a try this evening in the chairs as well as the other chargers and see if there's any difference.

Very cool. I'd like a home theater like that, too. I have a chair at home LENTIA High Back Massage Chair office-chair-review. It's generally very comfortable to watch movies on, too. I live alone and it's enough for now. But when I have a family, I also want to equip myself with a room for watching movies together.
Hello ARP2 fellas i am currently in search of a replacement usb-c cable for my 30W charger as the stock one ended up in my dog's menu The official Asus cable (ACAU003) which comes with the 30W charger seems harder to find and even if i managed to spot a couple of them they sell for 20+$, add the shipping fees and it will cost as much as the 30W charger itself Is there anyone around who tried an aftermaket cable capable of 30W Hypercharging? Many usb-c cables from AliExp or Ebay are marketed as 100W ones but not everyone in the comments is happy with the quick charging results on their devices and that's why i am hesitant to buy one. Any help is appreciated.

Try Baseus, usb3.1 to C works great + very good quality, but didnt try their usbC to C yet, its supposed to arrive in around a week so I can give you an update then.
Thanks Vardes, if you will not forget about it jump in and share your thoughts please. I might wait some more until someone else replies. Yeah Baseus and UGreen have a lot of positive reviews, still many people complain about their fast charging results

I would recommend Apples USB-C to USB-C cable. I have been using that since my N10+ and now ROGPHONE 2.
I'm using 2 of these mcdodo cables, 2m each rated 5a.
With the original charger from Asus I must say that the charging is very very fast. And I'm using one to charge my phone in my car, with a 30w small Baseus charger.
They have new cables tho', something with autodisconnect if u check their page but i didn't got them so i don't know how good those are.

got my baseus c to c cable, tested it today with stock charger, it has shown me hypercharge and overall charging time was around 1.5h from 8 to 100%. Overall build quality is great, braided 2m cable - almost identical to Bhl00's one, just different plugs. Here is the cable itself: http://imgur.com/gallery/A5Ee4Yy

Hello is your baseus c to c cable looks like this? I want to buy but afraid wrong, it's written supports PD3 and QC 4.0 though, it's shown 60W though, is this ok cause the original charger is only 30W? Just want to make sure just in case, thanks for your help !

Looks exactly like the one I have, and it is ok that it supports 60W - just means its basically futureproof and/or capable of charging a laptop .
