Honestly, a video is much helpful and quicker.
Instead of downloading and moving files and creating backup files, video helps helps decide if I like it or not. If I don't like it I would have to revert changes with backup. It is a bit troublesome, you see my point?

can i use this on abhishek build cm14.1 ?

its not amazing anyway, infact previous version were nice

ahaq is this your guide as I notice your name appears to bear some relationship to the writer's ?
The moboot is outdated , the rom and gapps should be renamed to begin update- then they won't need to be installed after boot.
Not sure about using a Rom that the developer has said will not be regularly updated and doesn't actually include camera and gallery .
I hope the writer of the article got oats permission to use his Rom and links.
Otherwise a well written piece .

I've only been able to find version 3.5 of moboot is there a updated version? What should we be renaming the files too BTW?
I'm hoping that all the fixes goes into a Official Nightly Build so we can download and upgraded as needed.
Thanks,

If your installing via your recovery cwm or TWRP you don't need to rename anything it's only necessary when using acme and a cminstall folder.

I am not saying it's a bad rom, just oats has said it won't be updated unless there are major changes. There are several different Roms in the developer's section . You should try them for yourself but I would suggest that unless you put links to the developer's thread that you are best of using ones that updates can easily be checked for with something like Goo Manager .
One question from me when I right click on my Palm ,Inc folder I do not see an option for command prompt ,how do I enable it running Windows 8?(Solved )
Reread your post ,neat trick .

You're boot animation zip is under system/media..
Just make a backup... then change the boot animation zip name to something else( I just add a one to it) and move it out of system files to a folder where you'll remember it( I make a folder called, the name of the rom I'm running and put stock files behind the name)..
Then put the new boot animation zip in the system/media folder and be sure permissions are correct.
I'll link a zip with cool boot animation's later... I must check with the member to be sure it is alright.

Also... I had to change some of the animation video size's... so they fit the whole screen... but they still work as is.

It's the project x 3.7 thread... not the variants thread and...
I use es file explorer. Long press on the zip.... pick more on the bottom right... pick properties... pick change permissions...
Now select the whole first row and the first box in the second row... that will set it to rw - r - r..... you can also set it to rwx - r - r.. which is just the same selections as before, but you also select the first box in the third row.
Hope this helped... hit me back if you need anything else... have a good day...

You can view each individual image if you pick it ( short press boot animation zip of choice ) with es file explorer or probably any file manager.
But I like the gears one...

You have to set the authorizations correctly. In the most cases it's rw-r-r. Or just check what authorizations the original bootanimation.zip has and use the same.
Sent from somewhere
CM 12.1 does not support mp4 bootanimation. To get it work you should also copy file /system/bin/bootanimation from stock firmware.
Wow, thanks works like a charm!

Already done that, but still it didn't worked. Only a bootloader unlocked page is displayed, then after boottime it directly reaches the home screen. Possibly, CM12.1 doesn't support .mp4 bootanim.

Yes, for mp4 files on CM you need another zip too.
I uploaded the stock animation incl. the other zip. It works with the stock animation, I don´t know if the system_bin_bootanimation.zip works with other mp4 files too.
Put both files in the right folder and set the authorizations correctly.

As some user posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=63443593 you need the bootanimation and the system.bin file from your stock firmware. These are the files I attached. I have a XT1068, maybe you need the system.bin of your model. Download the right stock firmware for your device and extract the system.bin file from there.
And check out the right path and permission, just like it is on stock. I have a custom rom installed and don't remember the exact file structure anymore.

Typically boot animations zips are placed into /system/media and permissions are set to RWRR.
Let me check with the fellow that helped me put this together and just confirm it first but that's my suspicion. Thanks!

I didn't have the time until now to look into that zip and it's flashable. I'll update the OP

Delete files in \carrier\cust\poweron and poweroff
This eliminates the ugly yellow Sprint boot animation that hides the pretty android L animation after flashing.
Believer there is also a sound file for boot in media folder somewhere.

This worked fine for me. No more yellow Sprint Spark screens, happy Android animation. However, and perhaps it's just my imagination, but there seems to be a slightly longer wait between the last animation and drawing the screen. In other words, the screen seems dark longer. Perhaps the Android animation just doesn't last as long?

Yes...common. No worries. Often times if the boot had to build up cache if boot ani is short it can end and remain black til the boot completes. No worries. But im sure you already noticed by now.

Yes it won't download in full, it downloads about 35 KB and then it says the download was completed. I'll try on my laptop
Edit: it downloaded but I got FCs when adding conversations and trying to attach media, I think it only works on AOSP ROMs.

Yea there will unfortunately be some compatibility issues I'm sure, I hadn't thought about how it would behave on stock LG as I'm running AOSP myself [emoji6]

Can you explain what you mean by copy paste system? I will first try replacing the files with the download you gave me but if that doesn't work what did you mean by the system and where can I find this copy and paste? Manually is also too challenging I tried it but honestly I rather have it perfected and not some ****ty attempt at eauivilzing it myself btw I'm using a s8+ not the snapdragon version notre if that matters

Oh and if that link was supposed to be an APK just to let you know it was actually all the files from the APK so id have to copy and paste to system either way . If you meant to send a link to download a different version of the app let me know :good:
Does this actually work, most audio mods I tried don't work/ placebo effect? No offense to you. Just curious
