Can't update Global Stable Rom? - Xiaomi Redmi 3 Questions & Answers

Hi there
Girlfriend has a Redmi 3. Tried to unlock it moooonths ago but never got the code from Xiaomi (tried 2 times to do the proper process, no luck).
She was happy enough with the Global ROM, though, so just let it be.
Recently she's been complaining about a few things, and turns out her phone is still stuck on the 7.1.3.0.
Pressing "Check for Updates" has no result (the button grays out to "Checking..." but then goes back to normal). Just keeps showing "No updates available".
Tried the ROM from the official page (http://en.miui.com/download-298.html as far as I can see), and followed the Flashing guide (http://en.miui.com/a-232.html)
I go to "Choose update package", select the zip file, the screen changes to "Getting info..." and then just crashes to the launcher, nothing happens.
Anyone has any ideas on how to solve this and update her phone to the latest stable ROM?
(would love to just get it unlocked and install CM but nothing I can do without the Unlock code!)
Thanks for any help!

Redmi Note 3 NO SERVICE

Greeting to all,
I want to ask on my RENO3 that are having no service error. The first time it happend is suddenly (ROM stock MIUI 7 global version). But after stock update to MIUI 8 through system update, the problem is gone. But today, once again the no service came back. Tried to turn radio ON in Phone update still nothing. No change can be made in phone information. Please assist to show the way...thank you.
updates on what I did.
1. I did flash NON-HLOS.bin from the same ROM and still "No Service".
2. Flash MIUI 8.2.4.0 from 8.0.6.0 using updater apps. (ROM downloaded from MIUI website). Still "No Service".
Now I am started to think that it is hardware problem. But seeing so many "No Servoce"problem on Xiaomi device does gives me some hope.
Hope theres some help.

What do you mean by status an F2F? Sorry Im not familiar.
But an update on what im doing on the RENO3,
1) After updating to 8.2.4.0 I tried reflash NON-HLOS.bin from the same ROM (8.2.4.0) through fastboot, I got the signal again. But until the battery was down to like 20%, again the "No Service"is back. But this time it was intermittent, as after recharge to more than 50%, there was network again. For now, I do not know if the problem will reoccur again.

Redmi 5 Plus stopped working after latest update

Hi
I received an update on my Redme 5 Plus las night. After installing it my phone has stopped working. I did see a message that was something like 'This update cannot be installed on this device', and prompted me to Reboot. Since then I am stuck on Reboot. I have tried factory resetting using the 'Wipe data' option as well. I also installed MI PC Suite, connected the phone to the PC and played around, nothing happens. Clicking on R.Flash says that the device is up to date.
I am now desperate, somebody please help. I have looking up on forums etc, but haven't been able to figure it out yet. The phone is only a month old, was quite happy so far.
Thanks

I never used mi pc suite, if you have your bootloader unlocked download fastboot rom and flash it through miflash tool. Also you can install a custom recovery like TWRP in fastboot mode and try any of the custom roms

Pls, help me, i dont know what to do ;-;

Until yesterday I had the MIUI ROM for my Redmi Note 4, however I wanted to send another two ROMS (Lineage and Resurrection Remix) to see if they would convince me.
(I clarify that I already knew the process to install Roms).
So I rebooted in Recovery mode, hize / wipe and then install Lineague, but automatically I realized that I was making an error, saying that the rom was for Mido and that my cell phone instead of mido was, literally, a point.
So I turned on the pc, use the xiaomiMiFlash tool to install a miui rom (of course, with the option of clean_all) and unpleasantly I was surprised that it restarted every 20 or 30 sec., Please I need help, because I've tried other roms and it's still the same, turn it on, exit the start menu and after a few seconds it restarts. Tell me what I can do.
What does this mean - "my cell phone instead of mido was, literally, a point"? What cellphone do you have?

I have a Redmi Note 4(Mido, the version with a Qualcomm CPU) and this restarts every 30 sec, I've even used MiFlash to flash the rom with the option to clean everything and even so it remains the same.
I already try with this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/how-to/how-to-fix-totally-dead-redmi-note-4-t3746465 and nothing, I get an error of "Sahara" with qfil

I guess you flashed a treble ROM using a non treble recovery. Use this recovery and try to flash lineage OS again.

Fake Rom on a MiPad 4 from AliExpress

I recently bought a MiPad 4 from AliExpress and it keeps stopping me from flashing my rom with TWRP. The Bootloader seems to be enabled out of the box, but I cant get it to recognize after the fastboot screen. Anyone have a solution to this? I've seen a few people post that they had the issue and they solved it when some other users posted the link to the same MIUI forum thread but the link to that seems to be dead. So I currently have no leads to how to clear the fake ROM.
The developer setting for "Mi Unlock status" is missing and I also tapping the MIUI Version doesnt bring up settings like the stock rom should.
Seems to be sandboxed for some reason, when i get into fast boot it just goes to a black screen that says "press any key to shut down". And when i flash it with MiFlash, it errors, and I just end up rebooting the MiPad 4.
did you find any fix? I'm facing the same problem

It's not sandbox, it just doesn't work with Win 10 or usb 3.0. In my case I have to use my old win 7 laptop to unlock.

Samsung Galaxy A510F bricked... and can't power it off!

Hi, after playing a lot with my SM-A510F it seems that I managed to brick it I did so many things I barely remember But I believe the important things are:
- I had a custom ROM (with Android 7 if I remember correctly). Playing with the options, I accidentally reenabled OEM lock, which triggere the FRP lock and now I cannot boot it.
- I tried installing a stock ROM (not sure if the proper one) but it failed and now it says "An error has ocurred while updating... Use the emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software"
- I tried installing again TWRP to install ROMs from there but the FRP lock does not allow it.
- I tried installing other ROMs but couldn´t find the appropiate one. With some ROMs it throws the error "Sw check failed, Device 4 Binary 1" And with others "Device 8 Binary 7".
I am currently donwloading some more ROMs from other posts I saw but it will take some, so I would like to get some help as I assume the same problems will persist.
Also, how the hell do I force power off? The things I saw didn´t work. If I press VOL DOWN + PWR it always restarts and goes into the Error screen again.
Thank you for the help!

Yeah... I didn't know what that was until I screwed up. I had some roaming issues and I was checking that everything was OK...

If you can get into download mode it should have a line saying AP SWREV B:? K:? S:?
The B:? Is your bootloader ( binary ) number. You will have to flash this version number or higher. You can not downgrade firmware. Bootloader number is the 5th number from right of firmware being downloaded.
You could try flashing stock firmware and if you know your Google account may let you back in to your system ( requires internet connection ).

Yeah that worked! I tried one of the ROMs I was downloading and followed that numbering that you mention. Thank you very much!! I got tired of trying random ROMs.
