Samsung Galaxy Infinite i759 bootloop problem - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, greetings to everyone here,
First of all i am sorry because of my lack of English vocab in typing. But i really frustrated within this bootloop problem in the end.
I have samsung SCH i759 , and i tried to root, 2 times, using Odin on first trial, after i downloaded Samsung USB driver, CWM md5.tar and SuperSU update.zip then failed and succeed when using VROOT, then installed android partition and Link2SD app in play store.I even created some links to move apps to SD card for more internal space.
works fine until few hours ago, i decided to change the partition space on Android Partition into 4 parts ,between FAT32 and then changing EXT4 into EXT 2 and adding exfat then swap, then i forget to unmount sd card before.
then i get error notification, then phone is lagging, then restarted.
Since then i lost apps i installed and moved to SD card.
then i decided to unroot Via VROOT PC. and then reset to factory , and now what i get is worse than before,
now phone is keep on recovery boot mode, i tried some advices on web, from keeping hard reset, take off battery, until wipe cache, dalvnik cache. etc. but something strange, when i enter the "Wipe data/factory reset"
the options list is just "NO" instead of "YES"
now,it keeps loading into recovery mode from samsung logo with yellow triangle below.
this is my last effort before i will send it to service centre. i really hope seniors here will give advice for this problem.
regards,:good:

[Q] Nothing Works..

Okay, so my phone wasn't sending messages all of a sudden. I have a P769 on jelly bean rooted. I restarted it and it got stuck in a bootloop over and over again after countless battery removals. I used CWM and tried to restore my backup of JB rooted, and all I got was a bunch of force closes. So I restored to my 10G rooted on ICS. All of my Google apps were gone and I went to take a picture and it said my internal memory was full and wouldn't read my SD card. I did factory resets and nothing works. I'm not sure what else to try.. any help would be appreciated!
Edit: I finally got JB to load and it would scan my SD card, then reboot itself while it was still up and running? I could see my backlights on my buttons flashing. So I took out my SD card, same thing. I wiped the cache and reformatted my SD card and now i'm getting an error message saying that my UIDs are inconsistent and it won't let me do a thing on the phone. My phone was fine 12 hours ago.. I haven't downloaded a thing or accessed anything at all.

I know the UID inconsistent error from my previous phone. Wipe data. Solves the problem.

How did you 'reformatted sdcard' ? Are you talking about internal memory(built in) or external memory (microsd)?
If you have some fresh backup system like 20x STOCK or whatever. (you can download it from XDA)
After this actions it will totally format your phone. You will no longer have system, apps, files that were on internal memory. It's kind of format C: on computer! So make sure you have backup on your external sdcard (microsd) and make sure to don't format your external sdcard.
I did it few times when I was messing around with custom ROMs so it's safe. I'm owner of P760 but don't think so if it will cause some problems.
1.Then you can go into CWM and mounts and storage and format following:
/cache
/data
/system
/sdcard - it is INTERNAL MEMORY (built in)
2.and then Advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
3. backup and restore -> restore from external sdcard -> choose your backup

I've wiped the data like the previous answer, and I also tried this.. I went into CWM and formatted all of this and wiped the dalvik cache, then tried to restore from external sdcard, which I tried my JB and ICS and neither worked. Right now I am on my JB and it just gets stuck at the T-Mobile 4G logo.
EDIT: I tried formatting everything and restoring from my external sdcard and my phone won't recognize my sdcard anymore. It says there are no files on it, but I try it on another phone and I can see the files.
I've had something along these lines before on my Huawei Honor. I never did work out what was wrong. I asked on xda and it was suggested that the partitions on the phone had resized/gone corrupt.
I'm not saying this is what has happened in your case. The sudden force closes and then no boot is what my Honor did.
Can you get software update mode to come on? Switch off, hold volume up and plug in usb from pc.

Yes I had the same problem when I upgraded from ics to jb. Never figured out what happened but I copied all my files to the computer then I formatted my external sd. After the format I just copied all the stuff back on the card. Also cwm doesn't work for the second partition. Good luck.

[Q] [CM9-NFE6.0] [P-500] [Link2sd] 2nd partition lose format at reboot

Hello everyone, this is my very (noob) first thread, and is a question.
I've started reading xda forums like 3 days ago, for like 12 hours each day... and its an amazing comunity of knowledge. Osom.
Well... ive been trying to set a 2nd partition on my 32gb C10 SD for extend internal memory with link2sd on my OptimusOne... on the way i learned how to mod, terminal mount and modify, recover, and all the stuffs that could make this work... but i surrender.
I can make it work formating SD with mini-tool partition wizz, conecting device to PC, and seting into USB massive storage mode (yeap! Worked indeed!!) but if i reboot 2nd Part. lose format and link2sd report error on mounting 2nd partition (says its invalid, mini-tool says it's unformated)... for re-mount i have to re-format with mini-tool and wipe the data... so i've avoided linking any app.
Readed about NAND lock (my device is by default unlocked), /system permisions, and others... and i simply cant make 2nd partition stays at FAT32. (yes, i tried with the other formats too, formated with CWM on recovery mode too and nothing).
Tried this too http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1971689, and didn't work for me.
Last discover was that via Root Browser app, /system file has no "Sticky" permision, if i modify it then busybox and other apps fail and run into recovery mode... (had to reinstal everything several times)
I know there is some kind of permision that i missed... but could be kernel config?
The most simply thing and i cant make it work... ideas?

[Q] Format EMMC by mistake - Please help!

I am a complete noob and got my lesson for messing up with my phone. I have an already rooted SGH i777 and was trying to flash OMNI Rom for 4.4. I wiped emmc by mistake. Although I did back my stuff up, they are no where to be found.I get cannot mount SD card error through CWM v6. I read somewhere that this is resultant of having no operating system in my phone anymore.
My phone is not recognised by computer. But I can access an external microSD card while booting recovery using CWM. Please help me as I am completely lost without my phone. You patience is deeply appreciated.

If that's the case, you should be able to put a rom on the micro SD card and simply flash it in recovery. You may have lost your backups, but if you can flash a rom via the SD card you ought to be fine.
Let us know if you need any more help,
sent from the i777
I'm not clear what you mean by "I wiped EMMC." Can you please describe exactly what you did, and describe the options you used if it was through recovery, which I assume it would have been.
If you put the phone into download mode while Odin3 is open on the desktop, does Odin3 recognize the phone?
FYI: TWRP file browser sees internal memory as "emmc". From the advanced wipe menu of TWRP, exists the option to wipe internal memory.
edit: really annoyed that I am limited to eight thanks at a PC, which has a much more comfortable interface than the XDA app, where I have unlimited thanks to offer my peers.
This is what happened
Dear all,
Thank you for your help. This is what I did. I tried to install Omni ROM for 4.4. I I downloaded the .zip file for the ROM and Gapps package zip and SuperUser zip. I went to CWM based recovery mode and wiped data/factory reset and wipe cache partition and in advanced wipe dalvik cache.( I did not run any wipe script as mentioned in this forum. I would have avoided all this if i actually paid attention and read the correct way of flashing here.)
I then went on to mounts and storage and did format/cache , system, data and preload. But also format /emmc
After that no ROM could be flashed and I could not access any recoveries. I realised my error when I saw the log that No files are found and couldnt open directory.
Update :
My phone is not recognized by Odin v1.85 and I also put a SAMSUNG_UCLE5.zip for SGHi777 given by a friend on to a microSD card and tried flashing that ROM from external microSD.
The log says:
I:Can't partition unsafe device: /dev/block/mmcblk1p1
I tried to partition just to see if it works. This time the log says
I:Can't format unknown volume :/external_sd. I never had an external sd card, but I gather that the system was partitioned in such a way that one chunk is considered external_sd.
Odin doesnt recognise it in download mode. I tried every USB port, changed data cables, tried different drivers available on Samsung website.
Please tell me I didn't ruin my phone. Any help is deeply appreciated.

This is beyond my level of understanding. I'm not sure what block 1p1 is. All of the partitions are designated as 0px where x is a number 1-15~.
I assume you've tried all the variables to get Odin to recognize the phone in download mode. Since Odin doesn't recognize download mode, I don't know of anything else to do but send it to someone with jtag equipement. It'll cost you maybe 40 or 50 bucks, but at least you can get your phone back. The person most trusted in the forums here for this sort of repair is Josh at Mobile Tech Videos.

[SOLVED] i9300 stopped booting, how to save data? (CWM Recovery is working)

Very well, I have an international S3 (i9300) with the SlimBean 4.3 build 2 installed. It was working flawlessly, no bugs.
10 minutes after I put it in my pocket yesterday, I picked it up and it was stuck on the boot up screen, and it was quite hot. I tried rebooting it multiple times and waiting for a while, nothing happened. I have ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.3.6 installed and working, so I tried wiping cache and dalvik cache and booting up, without sucess. It's stuck on the boot up screen and it gets a little bit hot after a while.
My question is, how do I backup my internal SD card data? Every single time I've wiped the device I used to move the pictures to my PC and made TitaniumBackup backups to the external SD card beforehand, so I could change ROMs and get all the stuff back. Now it stopped working, how should I proceed? I have important pictures and data in some apps...
tl;dr i9300 stopped booting out of nowhere, CWM Recovery is working, how do I save my camera photos and all data from apps?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Solved this by saving my data to the external SD card with AROMA File Manager, nothing lost!
Easiest solution is format system partition and reflash the exact rom you already have, unless the data partition is corrupt this should enable your phone to boot again.
Failing that you'll need to investigate if ADB pull will work in recovery/download mode.

Just tried formatting system and flashing the same ROM, it is still not booting
What can I possibly do to save my pictures? I'll look into ADB pull, is there anything else?
Flash philz recovery with odin, transfer data using aroma file manager, or custom backup, or usb mount internal sd.

I was googling and I had found about AROMA File Manager 10 minutes ago, but if didn't, I would because of this post. Thank you so much!
I was so damn worried about losing my stuff... I copied everything to the external SD card and now I can erase everything from the device and change ROMs safely. :good:

[Q] Boot crash: Cyanogenmod 11 + Link2SD gone wrong

Edit #1: Sorry, the question form didn't save the "This is a question post" tick after I previewed, I hope that doesn't mess up things.
Edit #2: I should also point out that I backed up everything previously, so I don't care about saving any data on the phone, I just want it working again...
Edit #3: I keep forgetting some small details, the phone wouldn't boot even when removing the SD card.
Hello,
Two days ago I decided to try the SD Link feature from Link2SD on my Galaxy S2, because I was tired of running low on internal storage space when I had a 32gb SD card just for photos.
I was only linking games and other apps that were not important to the phone's normal functionality, but on 3 our 4 occasions Link2SD would hang on the linking process and I'd wait 10 minutes before force quitting the app each time. This wasn't causing any problems, until the last hang. I restarted the app and saw that it couldn't compute any of the other apps internal size. So I rebooted the phone and got stuck on a boot crash.
Sometimes the boot would go beyond the Samsung logo and into the Cyanogenmod loading, but the phone would shutdown before leaving that screen.
I had CWM on my phone, so I tried a bunch of stuff:
to wipe data/factory reset
wipe dalvik cache
wipe cache
reinstall Cyanogenmod from a zip (either from internal, sdcard0, sdcard1, and even Odin)
After so many attempts, my searches started pointing me to the fact that some system files could be bad, so I tried:
format /system
format /data
I didn't format /boot but it's reaching the point that it's the only thing I haven't tried.
So next I used Odin to flash back to stock ROM, and in the process lost CWM.
Since that didn't work, I flashed a stock Kernel too.
I should point out that the phone was working perfectly before this Link2SD mess, and also that each time I flashed with Odin, I would get a glimpse of the app optimization process, that would reach around 39 of 42 apps before the phone would shutdown.
I'm running out of ideas and search keywords.
Please help.
Thank you for your time.
