Cannot go into Developer Options - OnePlus X CM 14.1 - without root - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have flashed cm 14.1 custom rom without rooting it. Now to root it, I wanted to go into developer options and enable oem unlocking and debugging.. But for some strange reasons, it wouldn't let me go into the developer options.. It just freezes and settings app stops responding. What should I do now?

You're supposed to post any queries regarding the rom in the rom thread itself. You're not supposed to create a new thread for these things.

I read most of the pages but somehow missed this. How do I get back now? I tried installing 14.0 by Ashwin. ROM worked no issues and I flashed gApps stock 7.0. But in the setup screen I cannot proceed past turning off cellular data step. Google play services continued to crash..
After flashing gApps stock 7.0 I wiped dalvik and cache as suggested by one user..
Should I wait for cm 14.1 to get updated or is there any workaround?

Sorry. I just joined yesterday and I'm a noob in these sort of stuffs. Don't know about posting etiquette. Apologies.

Your all so winy. This is a community built to assist people with their questions and problems. And instead of giving this person some help with the problem. You immediately start *****ing about where the thread was posted instead of supporting what XDA stands for. Who gives a **** of it's not it the right section that's why there are admins duh. If you don't like it then you shouldn't come here you shouldn't support XDA or participate simple as that. You all act like the internet police more than half of everyone here does some scandalous pirating act and you all know it. Stop being hypocrites you winy little ***** nerd senior members. Get a ****ing life you losers. I refuse to listen and see new users attacked like this just because it you spend you entire life here and for that stupid senior member added next to you weak ass names.

Cool i'll check it out
we take this decision ! we removed apps from Original ROM to make it more stable as we found many bugs with stock Gapps!
but you can check! we haven't removed everything!
there are some stock Apps not all of them because stock apps freezing and crashing and some gives us incompatibility issues!
Any screenshots?

The download links that have been posted are a completely rip off from another thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/android-m-preview-experimental-t3156629
Just installed it and it's exactly the same file. I don't know why you keep persisting posting fake work about Marshmallow on the G3. It's your 3rd spam post and the admins somehow still let those threads around.
The first time you've tried to fool people around by changing a stock rom's build.prop android version to 6.0, but you forgot to change the api from 21 to 23 hahaha.
Second time you've tried again with your dodgy links going to some scam survey websites.
And now you're back with files that don't even belong to you.
You should be permanently banned from this website, you bring nothing but spam in the forum.
I'm contacting an admin to get this closed.

Hello guys! Since it was rooted our device has seen only one rom be developed for it so far, so I decided to take action on this and submitted a request for Cyanogenmod development on our device. We need to work together though if this is ever going to happen. So...
If you'd like to see another custom rom for the Core Prime in the future (possibly even one that has the new Android Marshmallow w/ nightly updates), then please help by showing Cyanogenmod that there is enough interest by following the steps, either for "Taptalk" or "via computer", below:
TAPATALK USERS:
1) Click on the "Following" tab at the bottom of the app. Then look for the "Add More" button, search for "Cyanogenmod" and add the Cyanogenmod forum to your Tapatalk by clicking "Follow".
(Be sure to log in or sign up with CM there through Tapatalk if you haven't already.)
2) Once in the forum do a search for the words "Core Prime" to find our device request thread. Open it and click on the little "(+)" sign at the top right to subscribe to the thread and save it to your Tapatalk.
3) Place your request in the thread by commenting and mentioning the SM-G360T1.
(Also maybe go through and click on the "thumbs up" for other requests to show your support.)
* To check up on this thread later btw, just go to the "Following" tab, click on "Cyanogenmod" & then click on the "Subscribed" tab and you will see the thread there.
TO DO THIS VIA COMPUTER:
1) Check out the link of my request here:
EDIT: They moved my request and our comments into a general request thread with all the Core Prime models. Here is the new link:
https://forum.cyanogenmod.org/index...en-For-Samsung-Galaxy-Core-Prime?#entry606756
2) Sign up with a username on the Cyanogenmod forums there and verify your email. (Sign up is in the upper right on mobile.)
3) Go back to the link above and just make a comment expressing your mutual interest in development for this device. Make sure to mention the model # "SM-G360T1".
LETS SHOW THEM THAT CM FOR CORE PRIME IS WELL WORTH THEIR WHILE!!!
Also, lets maybe use this thread to discuss and update each other regarding any progress towards CM development for our device.

I started testing a slimmed down 5.1.1 rom that someone had made for this device yesterday too that was debloated and deknoxed, but unfortunately there is still a problem happening during the flashing process that has to be worked out. It's his first rom too, so it may take a bit to develop, but the good news is that people are starting to take interest.

Good question. Haven't heard anything, but then again there are only 36 requests total for ALL of the Core Prime models and only about half of those are for the SM-G360T1. Not good.
Updated the OP...
So yeah, I've been attempting to do a custom build of CyanogenMod for our device (if you didn't already know). However, I am missing something: the vendor files.
Anyone know how I can get my hands on them?

Review of CyanogenMod 13.0 for SM-J500*

Original ROM thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/development/rom-6-0-1-cyanogenmod-13-0-samsung-t3454915
Keep up the great work.
Device: SM-J500F on 6.0.1
Status: Rooted, Debloated and BusyBoxed. No other modifications.
Country: India
Recovery: TWRP 3
Advantages of custom ROM-
Faster. Sleeker. And Smoother.
Really lag-free.
Multi-Window Mode
Startup takes little time, even the first one.
Internet speed increased considerably.
High storage space available due to small ROM
High RAM available
Button reconfiguring in Settings
Viper4Android, SU installed.
Additional appealing functions in settings.
Debloated.
MTP and other PC functions such as debugging worked fine.
Pre-installed useful features and apps.
However, I also noticed some of the below bugs and disadvantages.
Camera failed (as you said). I tried Google Camera, doesn't seem to work at all. Displays camera screen but closes showing "Unable to connect to camera."
Google Play Store is very fast but downloading never happens. (Solved - see 10 Jan 2017 Update)
First startup requires network connection from either SIM or WiFi.
Suggestions:
I think that replacing the two scripts (files) in the Camera folder in the zip flash file of the ROM with the stock one might have the camera working. I tried it myself but couldnot extract the files from the stock image. Trying.
Notification panel must be more customisable.
Mobile data enable in one click from notification panel. Like in stock Samsung.
Alternative option for enabling stock notification panel. (I just love the Samsung one. Very convenient.)
The rest are all fine.
So, why was this thread closed. I know "GPL Complaint". But is this site for discouraging custom modifications and creations?
Update - 10 Jan 2017
Solved: Google Play Store downloading. Just a temporary network glitch.
Bug (may have been mentioned before in earlier posts): Unable to switch to 3G only mode in either SIMs. Option shows selected but doesn't work actually and connects to 2G. 3G works if automatically detected.

XDA has rules like any other forum. You must obey the rules. If you're not obeying them, then it's your fault.

All your gonna do by starting up this discussion again is cause an argument.
It ain't gonna lead any where.
The Dev responsible for this ROM ain't gonna start up this ROM again on XDA.
If finished his work, posted it on a different site and has moved on by finishing his work and changing phones to find a development community that appreciates his work.

I am sorry if posting this was a violation. As you see I am a new member. I am not giving an excuse but the purpose of this thread was to start further development of CyanogenMod ROM for J5 and not continuation of the original non-GPL complaint ROM. It was just an cited example to illustrate the ROM type.
If I knew how to make a kernel (and had the correct resources) I would happily continue where zonik left and why don't you warn before performing what you did, aren't humans error prone?

Anyway, short answer nothing or no one is best. One which is best for me may probably be worst for you. Its subjective. Try roms, kernels one by one and stick to the one which seems "best" for you not me.
PE and AOSIP
i'd say either any asop rom with the eu miui kernel ( i prefer PE,Linage os and nitrogen os) or just miui eu
Pixel Experience is good rom
ps sorry wrong form
Wrong section.

pixel experience is very popular but then ofcourse no one can compete with LinageOS
however both have limited customizations
you should try
Crdroid5.6 (9aug19 is the latest (at present) ) , it has full platter to customize your rom according to yourself!
however
I am on HAVOC 2.6 because of better screen resolution and font and havoc has even deeper customizations (or better organized)
Otimus Drunk kernel , is good ( i have used twisted/arter/sphinx/ and franco)
remember, you must flash vendor image before flashing any rom in twrp or you will get bootloops
https://mirror.akhilnarang.me/MIUI/beryllium/ latest one is 10.3.6 (bottom most)
Bootleggers ?

Thank you so much for this, It helped me out big style, I went for the latest Crdroid with no added kernel or mods yet and it's awesome fair play :highfive::good:
Search for munchy or Smartphone2torials channel in youtube
They got tons of videos on most custom roms installations and its reviews..
And goodluck mate

for me most of the vlogger who makes videos for roms touches basis only, the following things i found in almost ALL the videos
1. pubG running smooth
2. Jeo (4g) working fine
3. benchmarks
4. android version
5. you can make calls with no sound problems
however vloggers are more keen to make another video rather than use the rom on deeper level and find bugs
for examples
1. poco f1 ALL CUSTOM roms on 3g USB THETHERING start giving setting carshing, com.android.phone crashing errors where data used goes 1TB in 10 seconds... and System UI begins restarting itself! , network connections gets hung or delayed and you cannot go back to sim settings since com.android.phone keeps crashing as you click your sim setting icon...
now ? who's responsiblity is to test it? ofcourse as user if you are making video atleast test this problem and try to find solution (if not atleast warn the viewers)
2. also pocof1 cannot be mend for mixer path files for volume boost! but no video mentions about it
3. vendor image is required,,, NO video ever said this , i found it in some xyz forum by some member
4. same goes for redmi note 5 pro issues where screen goes off when listening to voice msg! and comes back on after 3 seconds! i changed 2 rn5p on 5-6 roms , all same! but no vide ever mentioned that!
in short! its always best to get opinion from xda forum members (or equivalent)
Why is this thread still hanging around here ? I request @Lupin The Third to please move this thread to the Q&A section.

You probably need to report it.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to do that via the XDA app...
Moved.

I have asked for it to be removed and I've reported it too as im all sorted now :fingers-crossed:

General Descendant OS GSI Fully working with text and calling patch.. I use it for my daily driver

Well first you're going to make sure you have stock flashed and then install the product_gsi.img to product in fastboot_d I I have included a working orangefox recovery with a fastbootd working.. and the texting and calling fix is just an app so after you install the system.img and wipe your user data and metadata and you're fully booted just install that app and run it
You're welcome guys we got some custom ROMs on the way but we ran into quite a few hitches.. so either AOSP or lineage will be on the way soon we just got to work all the bugs out

Especially about " so either AOSP or lineage will be on the way soon we just got to work all the bugs out"
Glad to hear this, more than happy to help test things.

Of course it's possible. But first we need to have a working device tree, which I and some others are working on. After that's working properly, it's relatively easy to build other ROMs.
That would be awesome, If only I knew how to help

The file has been deleted. Had anyone tried this?
I would love to delete this post as I no longer have these files and they took my download link down so how is that possible? I mean the deletion of this post
